Waterproofing One

I contacted Waterproofing One to come out and remediate the mold in my bathroom. When I called their customer service line I was told that the job was too small for them and that I should contact a handyman. This unprofessionalism is upsetting to me. I have 1 full bath in my home that my 2 year old child bathes in. To deny someone a professional service to make sure your home and child are healthy is irresponsible.

It went ok. Job was done as noted . There was one crack which either mixed up with hydraulic cement and grout. Floor was not cleaned up. There was a hassle to get the correct warranty which was promised. Not sure if I will use again

In preparation we moved everything in the basement away from the walls like they asked, although some of the shelves that I built could not be moved more than ~24 inches away from one of the walls. The next day the crew of three came over promptly at 8 AM. I told the crew leader about the shelves and he said that the space may be sufficient depending on the how far the footer underneath came in from the walls (as it turned out it was fine). They also moved the heavy concrete utility sink out of the way without damaging it. They crew hung plastic to partition the untouched sections of the basement and the rest of the house. I was told that the job was to take two days and it did. They cleaned up as best they could--vacuuming the stairs and didn't leave any debris or trash inside or out, although there was a light coating of dust on the everything in the basement which I expected. When they finished they walked me though the basement and everything looked great so I was glad to pay them as agreed in the contract. I am very pleased with the job, although I was slightly dissatisfied with the concrete pored over the drain because it wasn't always level with the existing floor and wasn't totally troweled smooth (I ended up floating the sections of the patch myself to level and get a better finish). Overall I think those are minor criticisms it was was a more than satisfactory experience.

The work was done in a timely manner and the crew was courteous and professional.

It didn't. They came out for an inspection, and I never heard from them. I called their office and some guy said they would be back in touch very soon. Someone, or should I say multiple people dropped the ball on this one. Seems others have had success with this company, but I was unable to get past the inspection.

I am in the process to purchase a house. My inspector pointed out a crack on the concrete wall of the basement. My inspector said the crack might still leak even with the previous unsuccessful repair. The current seller stated the crack was fixed by previous owner, no leak was noticed for 16 years in the house. As usual, my inspector recommended to get professional evaluation and estimate. I called a couple of basement specialists, nobody could give a ballpark estimate based on the results from my inspector. But Waterproofing One gave me a quick response with a detail evaluation of the problem and a ballpark quote. It helped me greatly in my negotiation process with the seller. Since I am not the owner of the house, I cannot hire Waterproofing One to do any work in the house right now. After I move in and if it does have problem, Waterproofing One is the one I will hire.

Really well. I had a French drain put in in September 2003 but was not happy with the work. I had water come in under the steps and wasn't sure why. They inspected first and gave me two options to choose from.

Our church was build in 1920s so the scope of the project increased as the initial water damage was worst than anticipated. Waterproofone addressed those issues and, installed a french drain system, rerouted water spouts, and added an external drain behind the rear of the church. Our basement has been dry ever since and all previous water damage has been replaced or repaired.

Andy and Waterproofing One did fantastic work and I couldn't recommend them more. Communication and overall work performed were top notch. When Andy and the crew started their work, they found out the issue wasn't a wall leak but rather a structural issue near the house. They changed the work plan and fixed the issue without changing the quote. Andy kept me up to date with texts and pictures of the work and what they were finding. We have had a few large rains since the work was done and the issue appears to be fixed 100%. Water issues in a basement can be a huge headache and I feel fortunate that we found such a good company to work with. I would recommend them 100% and will definitely use them again (although I hope we won't have need to!)

The guys worked very hard and were extremely professional. The foreman came afterwards to check to make sure that the work had been done correctly. I was very satisfied.

Joe and company were the most professional outfit by a country mile of the estimates I solicited --and the other two were highly rated on this list (though I cannot see how after meeting with their principals). Joe's men went way above and beyond. For example they extended my French drain by 6 feet beyond what was contracted, and it was behind an oil tank in a very tight spot, just because they felt it was the right thing to do. They returned to repoint a couple of areas that I had been overlooked on the outside mortar re-pointing. The project supervisor came out to see how things were going periodically. They were fantastic.

Waterproofing One are experienced professionals in their trade. I couldn't sell my house because all the mold and water I was getting in my crawl space. It was a real mess, moldy, musty and high humidity. Joe contracted to dry up all the water, install a perimeter french drain, remediate all the mold, encapsulate (paint with mold resistant paint) ceiling joists and subflooring, hang insulation, create ventilation and encapsulate with a heavy duty liner. The owner stopped by multiple times to ensure everything was going according to plan. His crew was very friendly, clean and attentive to details. My crawl space now looks brand new and I now I can go to settlement on my house! I would highly recommend Waterproofing One to anyone dealing with these issues. -Adam Woolf

Joe was very capable and informative. He recommended digging up an area of dirt floor and replacing it with concrete; digging a trench around 3 walls of the basement and installing a french drain; scraping, treating and painting the walls, and installing 2 glass block windows. Andy and his crew performed the work very well. Both Joe and Andy were capable, professional, friendly and very easy to work with. I highly recommend them.

The company that came I am considering them for additional work. Typically contractors come out and give a free bid analysis or quote. In essence that is what he did. He spent more time with me than I expected. They knew their stuff and I may use them.

Again, excellent work! I've had a lot of contractors over the years, and these guys are top shelf! I would recommend them to anyone to do work at their home. Well prepared. I was so satisfied with the initial work (and price), that I had them perform other outside work at my home.

Their workers did a very nice job on the property. They put in a deep trench system in the corner of our basement and it took care of the water problem. They cleaned up after themselves and left our home in better shape than they found it. I would certainly use them again.

.The crew was well organized like a swarm of bees. Everyone knew what they had to do and did a great job. These guys are artists. In addition to making my house more functional they also improved the aesthetics of my house. Joe and Andy were great to work with.

They are very good. Joe and Andy are the head guys and are real good guys to work with, they answer the phone. The guys that work for them are really good, caring and got a smile on their faces. They are like artists.

Everything was great. I can't believe how quick Waterproofing One finished the job. They arrived around 9 am and were finished before 3 pm. Everyone was courteous and professional. I hardly knew they were there. Since then, we've had some rain and I see no problems at all with the work that was completed.

This home inspection was part of some sort of Angie's List deal and we had some confusion over what the service actually was. Estimate would be a better description than inspection; we bought an estimate for future basement work. We were concerned with the severity of water leakage we have , what damage it might be doing, and how immediately we should be fixing the problems. However we spent the majority of the time going over the services provided by Waterproofing One; going through some examples of previous projects they have completed. Upon later conversations with the rep, he assured me that if there was a serious problem he would have said something. Again we thought we had purchased a professional, basement specific, inspection with recommendations for any immediate action. An example would be that he explained how they would scrub and disinfect the walls to remove black coloring on the stones (presumably some sort of mold), but not if I should do that right now (possibly on my own) for health concerns. Perhaps our basement water is not very serious, which would be a good thing to hear. In regards to what was actually provided, everything was fine. He reviewed the cost and labor of everything they could do for our basement and emailed me estimates for each service within a few days. I gave an A to the price because it seems reasonable for the amount of construction work that would need to be done, but they are the first to provide an estimate so I really have nothing to compare them to. Our initial poorer review has been adjusted given our disagreement over what service was purchased. They did fulfill their obligations.

Joe was very professional and seemed to be knowledgeable. He provided information, answered my questions, offered alternatives and appeared capable of performing the project. I plan to have him start the project in the near future.

I'm not sure he had that much knowledge about whether or not we had a foundation problem. We showed him some cracks in the plaster and in the cement wall downstairs and he said that was normal settling and didn't really ask any further questions that would indicate he was looking for specific symptoms of a foundation issue. He only looked at specific areas that we asked about and did not look further around the perimeter of the basement. He seemed scattered and hurried and not giving us his full attention. When we asked about water drainage issues, he didn't even circle the entire perimeter of the house; he focused on the one corner that we specifically asked about where water was pooling near our storm door. He proposed a solution that involved routing water through an underground drainage system to an area further away from the house, and also digging 4 feet down around the Bilco door and applying a rubber membrane along that door. But we didn't get the feeling that this amount of work was entirely necessary. It just felt like he was doing more selling than listening at that point as he went out to his truck and came back with sales brochures. He may do great work for all we know, but it left a sour taste in our mouth because we thought we paid for a full foundation inspection but it seemed like we simply paid to have him give us an estimate, something that most contractors do for free in order to get business. That's why we gave the low grade on quality.

The showed up the first day on time and explained what was going to happen. The used plastic tarp to protect the first floor of the house from dirt and dust, put tarp down on the floor to protect the hardwood floors. They removed stone and dirt from the basement, layed a new footer and concrete block wall. Then filled in with concrete and smoothed over. The repaired the other two walls, filled in the floor with gravel. Also, removed old insulation, replaced it with new and installed a moisture barrier. These guys were professional, knew exactly what they were doing, protected the house from dust/dirt, cleaned up every day before they left. The job they did was physically demanding, as they had to cart materials in and out of the house by bucket, as there was no outside entry into the basement. I would HIGHLY recommend them.

The men from Waterproofing One were very through and professional. They removed the dirt along side the affected wall and dug down about four feet. In doing so, they removed the bushes that were growing there because their roots were affecting the structure of the wall. A new concrete barrier was laid on the outside basement wall with plastic piping to conduct the water to the French drain. Upon my request, instead of foliage being put back, a cement slab was laid over the hole that was dug to enlarge the driveway which is between my neighbor's house and mine.
