I have used them for about 10 years and I use them because I guess I trust their name the most. My bill is very high and it is the only company I have used except when I dropped them once to go to T-Mobile but that was a nightmare so I went back to Verizon. I will use them again in the future.

I have had no problems with them.
Description of Work: I use Verizon for my cell phone and landline. I have been using them for my landline for over 40 years. I have been using their cell phone service for a long time when the use of cell phone first started. I have one landline connection, two cell phone connections and two broadband connections with them.

My phone line has been down three times in the past month. Verizon fixes it, then the same problem in their line occurs again. Each time, there is a minimum wait of five days, or as long as nine, for them to send a repairman. When you call, count on a twenty minute wait to get someone on the line, and hope they don't disconnect you--they do that about half the time. Three times they told me a repairman would be there the next day; no one showed. And of course, the person who anwers the phone at best cannot help you and at worst is outright rude.
Description of Work: No dial tone on home phone; problem in company line.

Although the service was very new and they were trying to workout the handoff between the contractors for the cable and the service technicians the outcome was well worth the effort. I scheduled the install over the internet but, we had to place the order again twice. The initial install date was in February but, we did not actually get everything coordinated for install until late March. All of the representatives and technicians were always courteous and apologetic taking ownership for the situation without passing blame. The final install was on Saturday night (after the tech was supposed to be off work.) The service has worked without interruption from day one.
Description of Work: Installed fiber optics service for wireless high-speed internet. (Installation was free, $49.00 is the standard monthly cost for 15mbs.)I converted internet and cable service from another company. I also converted my traditional Verizon phone service to fiber-optics. My only regret is that I did not do it sooner. The price, reliability, service and options are far superior. For example, for less than half the price I have far more stations, newer equipment, without one single service interruption. The representatives are always friendly!!!

I will flat out tell you that Verizon is terrible with communication. I was not at all pleased with Verizon. I did get the service without a problem and that was nice, but their employees knew absolutely zilch. I called them several times and they were all non-helpful because they wouldn't have a clue about what I was saying. I had wanted to get a cell phone added to my service at one point. Believe it or not, none of their reports knew how to do that. Then, I wanted fiber optics included in my package. Once again, I was told the person didn't know how to do that. I think that's bad. They finally concluded that they do not even offer fiber optics as an option to customers. I finally have successfully wedged my way out of my contract with them because I was so disgruntled.
Description of Work: I hired Verizon to become my internet provider by signing a two year contract with them. That contract kind of roped me into paying for two years with them and locked me in to ninety nine bucks a month or so.
