Description of Work: Bill came and did an inspection on my 2 furnaces. They were very helpful, gave me advice about my water heater and when it should be replaced. They also took a look at a leak for me and gave me an estimate. The repairmen were very down to earth and easy to work with and I will request them to come back when I get the leak fixed.

 + 0 moreI thought the person who returned my call was rude. Instead of just saying they do not do these jobs, he was condescending with ''advice''. If I had wanted to do this myself, I would not have called a professional.
Description of Work: I had called to get and undercounter water filtration system installed. It took 3 days to be called back, and then he called at 7 a.m. on a Sunday morning. I was told that they were willing to give advice, but would not do the install. I want a professional to install the system since I have a newly remodeled kitchen with granite counter tops my concern is having it done correctly with no damage to my countertops. I do not need advice, I needed a professional.

Description of Work: We had 3 toilets that were not flushing correctly, one was running all the time and the other had leaky valve. They replaced the inside parts on all 3 toilets.

 + -1 moreTom came out within a few hours of my first call. Came as scheduled both days he was out. Lots of demo needed to do the job; cleanup was satisfactory. Not cheap, but it did take two people nearly five hours to do the work (very tight quarters and ill-planned existing plumbing design). Did not replace closet flange, which was on the estimate, although the existing one seems to be in fair condition.
Description of Work: We wanted to install a pedestal bathroom sink in place of a vanity. The drain pipe (coming out of the floor) needed to be moved in order for this to happen. When Tom came out to see about moving the pipe, it turned out that the old lead and iron drain lines needed to be replaced. I did the demolition necessary to expose the pipes myself. He and his son came back the next week and replaced the drain lines with copper, replaced the tub trap and lifter assembly, and provided a new brass sink trap and popup for the new sink.

I am not sure about the price; I think it was a bit more than average, but I needed a toilet ASAP (the old one was broken) and didn't want to spend time doing comparison shopping. This company has very high ratings on Angie's list, so I went with them and I am not sorry!

Description of Work: The plumber came to inspect a water purification system which had been leaking, as well as other leaks around kitchen sink. He was able to offer opinion as to why the purification system is leaking. He also changed the filters on the purification system. (We had the replacement filters already. We could probably do the replacements ourselves in the future.) He was going to make an estimate on the remodeling which would be necessary in order to stop the leaks in the sink.

 + -1 moreOutstanding. Can't complain at all. I thought this would be a much more expensive job. The plumber was thorough, and wouldn't stop until figured out the problem. The problem was mysterious, but these guys took care of it. Pro's.
Description of Work: New construction, washing machine drain was not operational, was not blocked, but installed incorrectly. As it turns out the trap was slightly higher than the drain. There was no way of knowing this without opening up the wall.

Amazingly, they arrived with the needed, hard-to-get part in hand, guessing what would be needed on the basis of my description of the problem over the phone.
Description of Work: They replaced the device that mixes hot & cold water in a shower faucet, & restored 2 toilets that did not clear bowl & required several tugs at the lever to flush.
