R Chobert Painting & Paperhanging

They did a great job of painting with the least disruption. They went beyond my expectations by plastering the walls and ceiling.For the second part, they worked for three days straight and got it done. They installed new cabinets in my bathroom as well. My walls are not in the best shape so they had work to do in the rooms that needed the wallpaper stripped. Again, they did a great job. The paint job is beautiful and everyone remarks that the house is transformed.

They were very professional and courteous.

We had a great experience with John and his crew. They were punctual, neat, polite, and their work was precise and very quickly performed.

I am very pleased with their work. They responded within a day to my request for an estimate. I scheduled the painting for the end of August and they accomodated my time constraints. Chobert and their team arrived on time everyday and stayed until the project was completed. They work on multiple projects at one time and various members of their crew worked on my house. They were detail oriented and kept the workspace tidy. I had some carpentry work completed after Chobert painted and they returned promptly to paint the moulding that had been installed. The whole process was pretty straightforward. They do good work and want their customers to be pleased. It is a good business model that works because I am happy to refer them to my freinds and neighbors.

The service was great. With all of the rain, work didn't start until later than expected, but they kept us informed of their plans. They showed up early on a Saturday morning to powerwash the house (all the neighbors were really impressed). Monday they stripped, cleaned and primed all of the surfaces -- including using some special sealant for some of the original 1890's woodwork to stop deterioration. Tuesday it rained and Wednesday everything was painted and finished. Gorgeous!

Check Angie's List on Thursday and called for estimate. Mr. Chobert called back on Thursday and made an appointment for Friday at 9:00 AM Friday at 8:50 AM Mr. Chobert called to check that I was home 9:00 AM Mr. Chobert arrived and gave me an estimate which I accepted. I asked how soon the work could be done and Mr. Chobert called his son, Michael Chobert and they said they could be there within the hour. Mr. Chobert said that since it had been raining the business couldn't do the outside work that that been scheduled so I was lucky to catch them during this rainy morning. I ran out and got the paint which took 45 minutes. When I pulled up in front of my house the Chobert Painting van was in front of my house. Michael Chobert and Frank came in, helped me move the pictures on the wall and items on the stairs and landing so they could put down drop cloths. Michael Chobert and I discussed what method he would use for the crack repair. He was very knowledgeable. By Noon on Friday the job was completed and dry to the touch. Michael Chobert and Frank were on their way by 12:20 PM. All in all, this job took less than 24 hours from me calling for an estimate to completion. It was a small job which fit in perfectly into their schedule due to the rainy weather. What I learned from this is that if you have a small job to be done call when it's rainy weather and have your paint already picked out so they can jump in and do the job in the rainy down time.

I used Angie's List to find a painter. This company is highly rated so I tried contacting them through their web site. Their email service was not operable and I received messages that the email boxes were filled up. I called and left a message, once or twice. A week later I tried email again. I finally, after 2 weeks, got a call back. I mentioned they were highly rated on Angie's List and the guy laughed and said they had more business than they could handle. I told him I had a small job in South Philly and he said that was fine. He made an appointment to come and give an estimate but he never showed up and never called. I did not pursue this company any further. So if anyone knows a good painter who works in South Philly who will paint a bathroom and do touch-ups in other parts of the house I would be happy to hear from them.

They showed up on time, quickly got to work and efficiently and beautifully painted the apartment--including walls that exceed 15 feet.

Mike Chobert came out at the scheduled time to review the work to be done and to provide an estimate. He sent me (promptly) a very detailed description of the work to be done and an estimate of the cost. When the work had been scheduled, he arrived at the date and time arranged and completed the work within a few days. He brought several people out in order to complete the work as quickly as possible; this was a great advantage to me because there was painting to be done throughout the house. His ability to complete the job quickly greatly alleviated the inevitable inconvenience involved. Mike and his crew were very professional, very competent, pleasant to work with and did a great job.

This company brought a large crew of workers, which made the job go very quickly. I had the outside of my house and my refinished basement done in two days. They were friendly, efficient and careful with my stuff.

Excellent. Painter thoroughly hard wire brushed and sanded the balcony. He used rustoleum oil based outdoor paint and 5 months later no signs of rust.

Mr. Chobert responded quickly and gave us an estimate within a couple for days, the work was done about a month later. It took a total of seven days. The crew worked very hard and did a thorough and professional job. Mr. Chobert and his son were extremely responsive to our requests and called almost daily to update us on their progress. We gave them keys so they could come and go while we were at work, and were completely trustworthy. When they refinished the wood in the entryway they were able to match the front doors. We have had some wall repair and painting done on the upper floors before and were much happier with this company. They were more expensive than the other estimates, but well worth it!

I feel like they are very professional, they have very rapid response time. They haven't done the work yet but I am impressed with them so far.

Excellent. I called and left a message and received a prompt reply the same day. Mr. Chobert accommodated my schedule to come over and give me an estimate. When he said the work could be done in about 8 weeks, I told him that I was putting my house on the market, and he was able to get a work crew out 3 days later. The crew was professional, worked hard, and cleaned up thoroughly when completed.

They were very prompt, on time and the price was very reasonable for what you get. They do a great job.

They came out and gave me an estimate that was very close to the actual price. We settled on a date and time and they held to their schedule. They gave me a color chart to choose from. They finished multiple rooms in less then an eight hour day. They worked quickly and were quiet, there was no music and they didn't smoke which was very good.

Aside from weather and the neighbors doing a major redo with dust, etc. They did an extraordinary job. Timely and we are very satisfied and look forward to using them again.

I called this person because he received an A rating from 10 members. We scheduled an appointment for 7pm on a Monday evening. Since my daughter and her husband were going to be involved in the work we wanted him to do, they came over so they'd be present when Mr Chobert gave me his estimate. It got to be 7:15 and he hadn't arrived, which seemed a little odd for a first-time visit. At 7:20 I called him and left a message on his voice mail. At 8:00, I realized that he wasn't coming. At 8:05, he called and said he had been delayed, and did I want him to come over in a few minutes? I asked why he couldn't have let me know he was delayed, and he said he hadn't brought my "paperwork" with him. If this is how he behaves for the estimate, I don't trust how he'd be if I gave him the job. I don't think he wanted it anyway, because he seems to be a painter primarily. He shouldn't be in the wallpapering category.

I left a message on a Thursday afternoon and Mike Chobert called me back that evening. He scheduled to come by that Sat morning to give me an estimate. He showed up on time, was friendly, professional and cleanly dressed. He gave me the estimate and was able to schedule the work for the next week (I was on a bit of a time crunch and they had an opening, so this worked out really well). On the day of the appt, Mike was sick, so his brother John showed up ready to work. He arrived at 8am, took a break around 11:30am and was completely done and cleaned up by 3:30pm. He filled holes, sanded rough spots and completely covered everything with drop clothes. He even hung a new set of vertical blinds in the rooms for me. John was professional, friendly and a true pleasure to have in my house for the day.

The crew was courteous, clean and careful. They arrived at the exact time they stated, and left the house and our dog (whom they fed) clean and happy.

I was very pleased, they were very responsive. Very thorough. Did job with in 2 days. Very clean. I couldn't say enough about them.

At least this guy did return my call. However, he failed to show up or call the following day when he said he would.

Job was completed on our new house just prior to our move in date. We had a tight window for completion of the job and even though the company was stretched thin, they made our job a priority and had the work completed in plenty of time for the move in. The job was performed very professionally and we are very happy with the results. The colors of paint and the quality of the work were excellent in exceeding expectations. The only downside was that the light and outlet cover plates were not replaced and many of them were missing at the end of the job. I had to go to home depot and buy replacement outlet and light fixture covers.

The men that came out to do the painting were very nice and very professional. They kept their work areas clean and did an excellent job painting.

The work went very well. Mr. Chobert showed up on time with his crew and finished all the work in two days. The prep they did prior to painting really made the difference in the overall result. The ceilings, moldings and walls really looked great. They cleaned up and finished the work on time.
