Michael's Brick Pointing

I was impressed with the work performed and I thought it was a good value. I was especially impressed with the repair of the bricks on the front of my house - some mortar had failed and the freeze/thaw cycle caused the faces of several bricks to pop off and crumble. Michael's guys filled in the area with mortar, scribed lines to make it look like brick, and stained the mortar to match the surrounding brick. I was concerned with how the repair would look but the stain is almost a perfect match and it really looks good! You really have to look for the repaired area.

Everything went very well: - the estimate process was easy - Michael and his team were punctual and efficient - Michael and his staff were available to answer any questions and gladly touched up small details - everything looks great

I never heard from him with the estimate.

Michael himself gave the estimate and returned regularly to oversee the work his crew was doing. The work took several days. The workers were pleasant and took as much care as they could to protect objects in the yard. I waited to see how well the work would hold up, and after a very severe winter, no problems have arisen. The only complaint I have is that the owner did not give me a written warranty, though he gave a verbal one, and was not comprehensive with the paperwork. But paperwork means nothing if the work itself is not well done. He did everything he said he would do, and the work was done well. The clean-up was well done, also.

Michael sent 3 crews to my house to work on above mentioned projects. They did fantastic work. Michael and his crew were very friendly and kept me informed on the work while it was being performed. We are very happy with the work that was done. And it was done well beyond our expectations. When Michael came to our house for estimates on the work we needed done he was very informative about what he was going to do how he was going to do it and even had some suggestions. My wife and I bought an old brick and concrete colonial house that needs a bit of TLC and we glad we found Michaels Brick Pointing on Angies List. We will definitely use Michaels Brick Pointing again.

Michael's Brick Pointing provides very good quality service. After they finished I noticed a couple of cracks in the stone work and they came back and took care of it. They were very thorough and efficient and responsive. I would probably use them again in the future.

It went great! They were excellent. He came over the day that I called him to give me the estimate. When he came, he explained a lot about the type of cement and paint to use on the concrete walls. He gave me a lot of good information regarding the right way to take care of those walls. I felt like I was getting a very good price for the work required. They just did a really good job and I felt the work was of high quality for the price I paid.

Mike's team arrived on time (8am) on a Sunday and did a very professional job. They really took the time needed to do the job correctly. My wife and I were very impressed with the team's work ethic and knowledge. We would definitely employ them in the future.

Michael was very responsive to my needs. I was in a jam where I needed quick repair work done on my chimneys on the NE Philadelphia house I just bought or I would lose my home owner insurance. Michael responded immediately and had about 5 guys out there about 10 days later to do the work. Most of my brickwork was also very deteriorated on my walls, especially near the windows. I got all what needed to be fixed/repaired on everything and am glad i did because he does great work. The work took roughly 6-7 hours, I believe. I will definitely use/refer again in the future. Mike is awesome. I've had a bunch of work done on my house recently, and this one was by far the most daunting for several reasons. I live in a South Philly rowhome, and the work I needed done was in a tiny (I mean tiny) alleyway between me and my neighbor (I also had work done on the other back sides of the house, but they were comparatively "spacious"). I had a bunch of masons come out to estimate the work, and they were pretty much all stumped how to do the work. Either they just wouldn't call me back, or would come up with ideas that sounded like they weren't sure (like suspending themselves from the roof). Mike, who said he does lots of work in South Philly, immediately knew how he'd have to do the work (set up scaffolding). He also gave his opinion on other work that needed to be done, which I was happy to have done since he was already back there. So after figuring out the work, that led to another headache - making sure the neighbors were ok with some of the work going into their back yards. Luckily my neighbors were fine, and Mike is a great communicator, and courteous towards the neighbor, so there was that problem solved. Great stuff - Mike is great at what he does, and definitely if you think you have a situation you can't figure out what to do, call Mike because he's a problem solver!!

Some of the damage to the brickwork was due to water ingress from a party wall and the collapsing chimney, which Michael identified and his team sealed and repaired. The house they worked on has been neglected for several years and my worry was that it was no longer structurally sound. Michael quickly responded to my request for a quote and was able to deploy his team within a week. The work they did was thorough and to a good finish, and they cleaned up well. I would definitely call Michael again if I ever again need masonry work done.

Michael and his crew came in and fixed everything that the other company had done wrong and then when ahead and completed the job. A five man crew arrived and completed the job in two days. They were professional, and were extremely neat. They left the property in better condition than they found it in. I would recommend Michael's Brick Pointing without reservation.

They were competitively priced, and gave a discount for being an AngiesList member. They were punctual, performed all the work promised, and finished by the agreed date. Their work was great, and many of the neighbors complemented us on the house's appearance after they finished. We are very satisfied and would highly recommend them, and would hire them again.

He came on time. The crew was polite and professional. He did exactly what he said he would. I am thoroughly satisfied with the job. He was a little high, but I guess you get what you pay for. He assured me that I could call him if there are any problems.

He left a very good impression on me. He was scheduled to come another day, but he called me to find out if it was okay to come on an earlier date. He asked if he could actually come that same day, I told him yes, and he was right on time. He was very honest and reliable.

They arrived when they said they would and their work was very good. Also cleaned everything up and left the area the way it was .

Mike came over within 24 hours and assessed our bricks. He generously consulted on some other projects and issues with the home. He was timely, flexible, and reasonable. Will certainly be using for the upcoming masonry cleaning and a few other projs.

When I called Michael's to get an estimate, he was able to check out the situation very quickly. There were a few things we wanted estimates on and Michael gave us a breakdown for each part. When we decided to go with his company, he was quick about setting up the job. The work was well done and Michael's crew cleaned up after themselves. I would use them again and recommend them to others.

The men showed up on time, were totally professional and worked tirelessly the entire time. Upon leaving, they left the outside spotless and free of debris. Michael pointed out all the repairs including where water was seeping behind our brick, of which we were unaware. He instructed me to pay him only after I took a close look at the work and was "completely delighted".. The house required significant work.

Excellent contractor who does a very professional job. Cost proved to be less than estimated, We were leaving town in early July and asked Mike if he could do the work before we left., They took 2 days and the work was more than expected as he also replaced and repaired other areas of our brick sidewalk at no additional charge. If you need brick or masonary work he is your man.

High quality, commercial materials were used, coloring of tuckpointing material color matched, chimney cap was painted (at Michael's instigation, not ours) to improve aesthetic. The quality of the patio work was exceptional, and Mike created a beautiful infinity edge overlooking the backyard, that we had not even envisioned. He also created a stone step to fit the new sunroom door that matched our garden steps for a clean, continuous design flow - better than we had imagined. The crew was professional, polite, and most amenable to last minute requests (embedding a bird feeder, moving a heavy grill). Michael has a good eye and oversees his crew with great specificity. The work lasted 5 days, and every day they cleaned up leaving little or no evidence of their presence. Neighbors who came to admire the patio (lots were interested) had no idea that tuckpointing had occurred; the window sealing was so professional in color matching, one thought we had had the windows painted. Work was performed as quoted; Michael checked in wit us for a daily walk around the job site to provide progress updates and review work performed; and a professional invoice was provided upon job completion. We paid a 30% deposit upon completion of first day of work, another 30% mid-project and the balance upon receipt of invoice.

Michael and his team completed the work in one day. The front stucco work looks fine. They were able to roughly match the color of the old mortar when they repointed some bricks on the front of the house. The stucco and window caulking at the back of the house looks fine. They only applied stucco four feet high on the wall because those bricks were in the worst condition. They provided a price to do the whole wall but I declined. No problem with their work.

Michael and his crew were on-time, very professional and extremely conscientious. The work that they completed was top notch! They blended the cement stucco perfectly with the other areas of the basement that didn't require stucco repair. They even patched some broken concrete in the floor that was not in the original estimate. They were extremely neat and tidy. This can be very dirty work. They brought and ran drop cloths from the front door to the basement to ensure that they did not track dirt through the house. They thoroughly cleaned up after themselves and took all debris with them when they left. They mixed cement outside on the city sidewalk. They used a tarp and did not leave a trace of cement/stucco behind. I am bringing them back to repair stucco outside on the back of my house in the spring. I highly recommend Michael for this type of work.
