My call for an estimate was not returned for over a week, but once we connected I made an appointment for the following week. The gentleman that showed up for the estimate was very nice, and to his credit he showed up on very stormy, rainy morning (albeit without an umbrella or poncho). We talked a bit about what I envisioned for the backyard. I explained that because the yard isn't large we wanted to stay away from pavers and use wood for the planter boxes and small retaining wall. I wanted the stairs to be reconfigured entirely and envisioned seven or eight stairs with a few landings filled with sod (currently the stairs are grass tuffs edged by railroad ties that have begun to rot). After our chat I loaned him an umbrella so he could head out to take measurements. Once outside he set the umbrella on the ground, took measurements and returned to my kitchen dripping wet to discuss the next steps. Now that he'd seen the space I asked for his professional opinion. It was like pulling teeth. He told me that his boss did not want to take the job because I had mentioned using wood on my initial phone call (and they usually work with pavers) but he thought we should move forward. I told him that I understood, and that I'd be open to an additional estimate using pavers if he felt that was a better, smarter longterm solution. He took down my email address and said he'd send me both estimates in a few days. That was three weeks ago and I haven't received an estimate. No call. Nothing. I understand JMJ refusing the job if it is not in their wheelhouse, but please don't waste my time setting up an in-person estimate if the decision to pass has already been made. I probably spent more time cleaning my kitchen floor after the visit than JMJ did on my estimate. Customer service fail.

Quality was excellent. Price was quite good. originally we wanted just a metal edging but they nicely upsold us on the edgestones. It turned out real nice. My only concern with them was that as we wanted to confirm the isntallation date they were not resposive to multiple phone calls. As the date approacehed, everything fell into place nicely.

Jim came to my house, walked thru my property understood what was needed to be done, however he never got back with an estimate, despite leaving him 6 voicemails. He was on time to come take a look at the scope of work, but unfortunately he never returned any of my six calls.

We were completely satisfied with the entire project from start to finish. Jason arrived as promised, provided a detailed written estimate, and all work was completed in 5 days, sooner than specified in the contract. This project involved moving all the materials in and out through the house, since there is no exterior access to the back yard. The workmen took great pains to protect the hardwood floors, and cleaned up completely before leaving each day. Our back yard looks like an entirely new space, and the addition of the red stone adds vivid pop to the project. We can highly recommend this company.

Emailed the provider on 5/23/13 describing our needs and saying we would like to have them provide an estimate for services. To date (5/30/13), we have not had the courtesy of a call back.

I am very happy with JMJ Landscape Construction LLC. Their price is good, they guy they sent here is very good, they clean up after themselves and they have done a very nice job so far, they should be finishing in a day or so. They are very dependable and Jason came right out and gave us an estimate and we discussed the time frame of when we wanted it done and they were here, we did not have any problems.

I am very happy with the results. All the old concrete and stone was removed from the yard and replaced with sod. They finished everything in 2 days. They ended up staying very late the 2nd night (until after 8pm) to get the sod installed, but it turned out great. The owner and crew were very nice and professional. We will use them again when we get our front 'yard' redone.

I called on Friday, April 26th, and scheduled an appointment for an estimate on Tuesday, April 30th. Jason showed up and was very pleasant. He promised to have an estimate for me by Thursday, so when I didn't heat from him by Friday, I called the office and was told that he would get back to me by the end of the day. Today is Wednesday, May 8th and I still have not received an email, phone call, or and estimate. I've called another company,

It was great. They were very professional. I just thought they were an excellent company and handled themselves well.

The project took longer to finish but since the work was done outside, it did bother me and the results were well worth it.

Five days later and I still haven't had a call from this guy.

They were prompt. They did a good job. The workers arrived on time, cleaned up after themselves and were polite. They tried not to make much damage around the area where they are working.

I met with the owner and obtained an estimate. After I met with two other landscapers (including Marazzo), I chose JMJ. Their estimate was in writing. They also wrote up the contract. The crew designed the patio and they installed it in a few days. I am very, very pleased with it. They also mulched my garden that surrounds the patio. They get top scores in my book.

Jason responded to my initial phone call right away and came out to give me an estimate within a few days. We agreed on a time for the work to be done, but due to Hurricane Sandy, we had to reschedule. Jason was very professional and responsive to my emails and phone calls as we determined a date for him to start the work. I was able to stay home during some of the days that they were at my house and I was impressed by their attention to detail and the care that they used in making sure the original stones were preserved. The restoration was done beautifully and I am very happy with the work they did.

It went great! I had a complaint about where the sod met the remainder of the lawn. Gil came back and filled the gaps with topsoil and grass seed. It worked wonderfully. I would not hesitate to use them again and would recommend them highly to all. Thank you

Jason was the lowest buidder on the project out of three. We scheduled a time/date to start the work and his crew showed up promptly. They were always cognizent of not making a mess. Jason always responded quickly to emails. He provided some good advice and options on types of stone for the wall and bricks for the patio. All work looks great and should last a long time. Only small issues I have are that the grass seed planted over some fill dirt wasn't done well (it was just dropped on top and not raked in or covered). Also, I didn't notice how big a grade adding in the patio would cause (my property is on a hill). Jason noticed it and brought it to my attention after the work was done, but by then it was too late. It was my error for not noticing it before I requested the work, but It would have saved me a lot of grief if in his professional capacity, he spotted the problem. Overall, a great experience, and I'm happy to hire and recommend.

I had a rough idea for creating a courtyard at the front entrance to my house. Jason took that idea a created a new entrance that met every one of my objectives, was artistic, created a semi private area, was appropriate for the size and style of the house, and blended in with the materials used on the house. The outcome was so much better than I had imagined. He brought ideas about details to me that had never crossed my mind. His crew was hard working, tidy and very nice. In addition to creating the court yard, Jason's crew re-laid my back patio (which is quite large) and redirected a downspout in the front. I have already given his name to 2 friends and would recommend him to anyone looking for hardscaping.

I had JMJ build an EP Henry patio at my house earlier this year. In hindsight, I should have had them put lighting in. When discussed with Jason after the fact, he had no concerns installing the lights even though the patio was already built. JMJ came out quickly and finished all of the lighting within a day! Would definitely use them again.

away One of the owners arrived, gave an estimate, was told by other companies that work would have to be done by hand, Jason stated he could get a machine in the tight spot I had available. He e-mailed me an estimate, more people doing that these days, no problem with that. I phoned him after getting numerous estimates, asked when he could start, he gave me an approximate date stating because of bad weather, this could interfere with a start date. Called me back within 3-5 days and gave me an estimate start date. Told me to hold on to my deposit until that date grew closer. Meanwhile, I phoned him for a small extra piece, he stopped by, gave me a quick estimate for that area. Within 1 week of start date, I called to confirm and gave him my deposit. He and his crew arrived ont he start date and began to work. He is very personable, he has a crew of good guys, hard workers. Work was completed to my satisfaction, actually beyond, in a timely manner. Had one day of rain, he called to make sure I knew he would/could not be there that day. AFter completion, I had a question I had forgotten to ask, I called him, he answered with no problem. He also stated I should call him if I experienced any problem whatsoever related to his work. I would highly recommend this company!!!

Called to receive a quote on a concrete walkway. Jason came the next day to do estimate. Said he would email us the quote in a day or two. After one week we called him because we had not received the estimate yet. Someone took a message. The next day someone called back and said we would be receiving it soon. About three days later we received an email with a drawing of the design and the quote. The picture was very nice and the price was reasonable. We decided then that we wanted to change our design slightly. We called Jason and told him that we wanted him to do the job but we were requesting a slight change in the design. He agreed to do the job and told us to make the changes on the drawing he had sent and email it back to him and he would email us back a new quote. My husband did that immediately after getting off the phone with him, We have never received a new quote or heard back from him.

i got an email asking for my phone number. i immediatley wrote back with the phone number. did not hear from them for about a week. left another email asking what was going on with the estimate. he then wrote me back asking for the address and he said i did not have to be home for the estimate. did not hear back about when they would come. i wrote another email asking the status of my estimate. several days later i got a phone call from someone apologizing that they did not show up the day before. i told him i had no idea what he was talking about since we never made any appt.. the man on the phone was very distracted and i had to repeat my whole story to him again. he was not listening and again said he was sorry they did not show up the day before. he asked me when we would be home for the estimate. i told him that the other person said i do not need to be home for it. two days later someone came to do the estimate. we were home but they did not knock on the door which i thought was fine. did not hear back and two days later i left an email asking when i would get my estimate. he emailed me immediately with a 15,000.00 estimate- yes, you read that right! this did not even include planting the tree because he forgot about that. i have an average driveway and got other estimates for 5,000.00 from reputable people. yikes, a bad experience for sure.
