When doing an inspection for my new home, I had Gen3 Electric come in and perform a specific electrical inspection. The contact who visited our home Josh T. was amazing. He came in and got into the details of our electrical system. By the end of the visit he was covered in dust and had a few pages worth of notes for us. He was able to provide us with detailed information regarding what systems were in need of repair, what systems could use a repair and what systems were already OK and not in need of service. This was amazingly valuable. He was professional, timely and understanding of what information we needed. We also had an outlet installed by another technician Dave C. He matched the level or professionalism that Josh gave us with the added benefit of performing the work. He protected our property, was friendly and professional. He was also able to provide us with additional information about our electrical system. This organization stands behind their work and will be our electrical vendor of choice in our new home.

I've had my Mitsubishi mini split system for almost five years, I'd never had them serviced or cleaned, and to be honest, I don't clean the filters as often as I should, so I knew I needed some serious work. Travis gave me a fair estimate in June. He came back when I was ready in October and honored the estimate. He did a great job and he was respectful and professional. Just a nice guy. Gen3 is expensive, but they came in cheaper than the other company I got an estimate from, and the scope of work that Travis outlined seemed fairer than the other company's. I trust them. The team in the office, including Nicole, is also great - no long hold times. They're responsive and professional.

The service person had to return the next day because they outlets weren't working. Apparently, he forgot to tell us that we needed to push the GFCL button which would activate the USB ports. The service was way overpriced ($550 for less than one hours work and the parts would cost under $100 at Loews).

The ac unit in my commercial space went out suddenly and I needed someone to get out ASAP. Gen 3 sent out Justin in just a few hours. Once Justin arrived he realized he needed help and he ensured me a team of two would be out to fix the problem. Travis arrived shortly after with help and the problem was fixed the same day. He even gave me alternatives for helping myself if something were to arise again. He told me to let it run and he’d back the following day if needed. I am super satisfied with their customer service and punctuality.

The electrician that showed up was very courteous and professional.He explained what needed to be done to make the repair and completed the repair. He even double checked the wiring to the outlets in the room that was affected making sure the ground wires were secured. The price was fair and reasonable for what was done. I would hire this company again and request the electrician that came out to our home.

I made an appointment for someone to replace my thermostat and also to install an electrical switch. They said they were busy and gave me an appointment 7 days later (Friday). OK. They confirmed the appointment twice. But on the day of the appointment, they called me 1 hour before the appointment to tell me they were unable to keep it and were cancelling it. They offered me another appointment 6 days later. I tried to negotiate an earlier date, but they were really not interested in working with me. I understand that things happen, but if you cancel an appointment, you should try to work w/ the client, not blow them off like that. For their prices, this is awful attitude. I've used them before 3 times, and their service has declined tremendously. Will not use again.

On the day of the appointment, the technician called me on the phone, asked me more about the job, I told him, and he said they don't do that kind of work. Clearly whoever was answering the AngiesList request didn't read my quote request properly, and they didn't pass the correct information to the technician(s). That means they wasted my time and HIS time as well. I could have been a new customer, but now I am DISAPPOINTED with their sales and business process. Also, when I spoke with them on the phone, who ever I just spoke with didn't even APOLOGIZE for my wasted time. So rude. Blacklisted.

Very disappointed in Gen 3. I've used them a few times in the past without issue so was surprised they did so poorly this time. Called them in advance to install an Ecobee4 smart thermostat on a Rheem HVAC unit and told them way in advance to send someone who has deep experience with Rheem as they have several other wires used in their thermostats and someone who has experience installing Ecobee specifically on Rheem. Even though this was in the tech's notes (he showed me), the office sent over an electrician that was lightly trained in HVAC. He was here for hours, reading the Ecobee manual (first sign of trouble), getting help over the phone from someone in the office (second sign of trouble), sending pictures back and forth (straw that broke the camel's back), etc. It was hours wasted of my time and a total disaster. I had a second thermostat that also needed an Ecobee installed that was much more simpler and he couldn't do that either. I ended up doing it myself with a simple phone call from Ecobee walking me through some extra steps I needed to take. I called the main office to reschedule with an appropriate HVAC tech and after 10 mins of waiting on the phone while they discussed internally, I was "referred" to another company. I couldn't believe my ears. I think Generation 3 Electric needs to take the "HVAC" out of their name. What a shame. It only takes one bad experience to loose a customer for good.

It went well. The technicians came when they were expected. If for some reason, the scheduled time had to be changed, I was notified. They cleaned up before leaving each day. If I had a question about work, I was given an answer. Also, when I asked about a senior citizen discount, it was deducted from the bill.

They were highly professional and did excellent work, taking the time to explain to me, a lay person, exactly everything that needed to be done how and why and how long it would take. It did it end up taking a little bit longer than initially planned, but the scope of the work ended up being greater than initially thought. Then I took months deciding on the last fixtures to install but they still came back to install them as part of the initial job.

The price for the panel was in line with most of the other estimates I got but the price I was quoted for the rewiring was ridiculous. The price for the material would be maybe 500.00 at most and that is at the high end. So their quote was 4753.73. Which is way out of line. It was only 10 outlets that needed to be rewired which comes to 450.00 per outlet. I don’t know is that what customers should expect. I think someone who doesn’t now anything about electrical could get taken advantage of. Luckily I have some understanding about what needed to be done and did not use them.
