Generation 3 Electric came the day before Thanksgiving and somehow fit me into their busy schedule. I would recommend this company to others and have. They are also very reasonable and are prompt. Their work is impeccable.

We have given these guys a lot of business in the past & usually have been very happy; however, this time, with a much bigger job, they really missed the mark. They have been bad about scheduling & returning calls. They gave us a poor plan the first time they came out (even though Chad was good about asking detailed questions, etc) so when they actually saw how big the job was, they had to start over, & then blamed us. After setting up the wiring finally, we had a hard time setting a date for them to come back & when they did, they totally disregarded instructions, hammered up our new ceiling, & hung a light in the wrong place. They didn't call to seek direction & now claim our communication was not clear, even though anybody who walks into our kitchen is amazed by how poorly placed the light is. The bottom line is they are great for small jobs but a mess with big jobs. Bill is perfectly pleasant until something goes wrong, then he tries to blame you.
Description of Work: Wire & install 4 recessed lights, install outlet for fridge, install outlet for island (supposedly- hasn't happened yet), install 4 under-cabinet lights, re-wire 2 lights, hang pendant light (wrong, still waiting for them to fix, although they have promised to hang it properly & patch the ceiling). They have not yet finished the work, yet they demanded payment up front (after finishing the first part of the job), so now it is difficult to get them to come out & finish.

WE ARE VERY SORRY THAT WE WERE UNABLE TO COMPLETELY SATISFY THIS CUSTOMER. HOW EVER WE DO BELIEVE THE WE WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY TO DO SO. THERE WERE FOUR MAIN COMPLAINTS AND WE WOULD LIKE TO RESPOND. 1. A PLAN IS A TOOL TO COMMUNICATE WHAT A CLIENT WHISHES TO HAVE DONE. IN THIS CASE THAT WAS UNCLEAR. THAT IS WHY WE WENT BACK AND ASKED DETAILED QUESTIONS. 2.WE MADE TWO SCHEDULED TRIPS TO THIS JOB SITE ONLY TO BE TURNED AWAY BECAUSE THE CLIENT SCHEDULED THE FLOORS TO BE REFINISHED, AND A DELIVERY OF CABINETRY TO BE STORED IN THE SPACE WHERE WE WERE SUPPOSE TO BE WORKING. THAT FORCES US PUT THEM AT THE BACK OF SERVICE CUE. THAT IS NOT A MATER OF BLAME. IT IS HOW APPOINTMENTS WORK. WE COME ON TIME WHEN WE HAVE APPOINTMENTS. 3. WE NEVER DISREGARD INSTRUCTIONS. WE MAY HAVE MISINTERPRET THEM. IN THIS CASE THOUGH WE WALKED THROUGH WITH THE CLIENTS SPOUSE BEFORE WE LEFT. AT THAT TIME NO ONE SPOKE UP. I CAN'T SEE HOW THE PLACEMENT WAS SO BAD THAT IT COULD BE MISSED IN A FINAL WALK THROUGH. REGARDLESS WE RETURNED AND MOVED THE FIXTURE AT NO CHARGE AND REFUNDED MONEY FOR THE DRY WALL PATCHING IN SUMMARY WE SENT THE CLIENT A FORMAL APOLOGY. WE REFUNDED THEM MONEY. BUT IN THE END YOU CAN'T PLEASE EVERY ONE NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU TRY. SINCERELY, BILL LUTZ

Generation 3 was very responsive when first contacted with a quote, as well as when scheduling the work. The job required two days work for a three-man crew. The crew was punctual, professional and helpful. They designed the recessed lighting plan for us, and offered recommendations on the most efficient way to accomplish our goals. We did not contract for finish work (not sure if they even offer it), so we have some drywall and painting work to do.
Description of Work: Upgrade residential electric to 200A service (replace main feed into house, circuit breaker panel, and meter). Re-wired upstairs lighting string and installed two outlets. Re-wired downstairs and added outlets. Installed recessed lighting in living area.

He was on time, very neat and polished and sincerely polite. He worked clean, he didn't try to up-sell me anything, he stayed under his estimate, and he fixed a problem I hadn't complained about, simply because it was safer and didn't charge me more. Also, he explained to me the problem/solution in a way even an idiot would understand (in other words, I kinda got it). I will definitely feel no reservations employing the company again, and/or recommending the company to others. Now I have light and don't worry about what is happening to inmates in Texas every time I flip the switch.
Description of Work: My lights in two rooms were doing this weird dimming and brightening thing like the shot they always show when some guy gets the electric chair. Some lights simply weren't working at all. I know less about electricity than Ben Franklins' grandfather, so I called three electricians and got estimates ranging from 175 to 400 dollars. I went with the lowest estimate mainly because I trusted Bill Lutz, the company's owner, because he communicated with me the whole time he was inspecting the problem and didn't act like it was a gigantic nuisance that I called him. Also, he was the only one who recommended I get another estimate.
