The service here was extraordinary. I called them on Christmas Eve and the manager asked me to leave an e-mail for him. He arranged for someone to come out the following Monday to do the work. Meantime we were able to have Christmas tree lights and other lights in the downstairs thanks to their earlier work installing a new circuit for our TV set and DVD player. Apart from a minor miscommunication when my daughter missed a call from the service people because she couldn't find her cell phone (the cats had put it somewhere, just trying to be helpful), things went well. The service people were helpful and courteous. They discovered the source of the problem very quickly, replaced a failed circuit breaker and got all the lights working again.
Description of Work: A major circuit in our downstairs failed right before Christmas. This was nothing to do with work that Generation 3 had recently done for us; our house is old and the circuit breakers are starting to fail. We expect to have them out to install a new circuit breaker box sometime next year.

After checking out their website Monday evening, I sent an email to Generation 3 Electric describing the work I needed done. Received a call about 8:30 Tuesday morning from Bill, asking for a bit more description of the work to be completed, and we set up a 9:00 a.m. appointment for the next day. On Wednesday morning, I got a call confirming the work to be done (so they would have the correct tools/parts with them) about 8:40, with a promise to be there in 20 minutes. The new light fixture was installed in less than 20 minutes -- and I especially liked that they brought their own drop cloth to catch dirt/dust, and took all of the trash (new fixture packing and box, as well as an old broken fixture which I had no need for). It took them about 30 seconds to diagnose the dead outlet issue...tripped GCI fuse. They corrected it, showed me how to do it, should it happen again, and didn't make me feel silly for not having caught it myself. They were here and gone in 25 minutes -- and I couldn't be happier. Prompt, professional, and just plain nice.
Description of Work: Installed a replacement ceiling light fixture in the den -- and solved my problem of 3 dead electric outlets on 3 separate floors.

I called them and described the job. They responded with an e-mail estimate that needed minor modification, which we did on the day the work was done. I set up the appointment by e-mail, which was very convenient and easy. On the day the work was done, the employees (a supervisor and an assistant) arrived promptly and did the work efficiently. The supervisor remembered our house and got the job done despite our house's somewhat eccentric wiring. They finished very quickly and left no mess behind.
Description of Work: Ran separate line for television and VCR; extended bedroom line for lamp.

From start to finish the job went well.
Description of Work: The breaker in our basement was falling off the wall. I called Generation 3. Chad took my call and he new exactly what I was talking about. He explain to me what needed to be done an appointment was made. Michael, the electrician, called to let me know he was on his way. Michael and his helper were both polite. Michael did an excellent job building a board and rehanging the circuit breaker. Michael's helper replaced a switch board. I had some questions for Micael about what he was doing. He explained in detail what he was doing. I was very happy with both men. I will definitely use this company again.

It went extremely well. They came out to do the estimate the day we called, and had a crew out to do the work the next morning. The crew(2 men)performed the work quickly and well, including patching the small holes they had to make in the ceiling to run the wires necessary for the outlets. After having done the work they agreed to, they offered to stack the washer and dryer and install it in the utility closet(they had 2"-3" clearance on either side. They then cleaned everything up to the point that the only way to tell they'd been there(other than knowing that before they came the washer and dryer hadn't been in the closet)was the patching they did over the holes, and you could only find those if you knew where to look.
Description of Work: Installation of two outlets in a utility closet, one for a washing machine and one for a dryer.

I emailed, Bill Lutz returned call next day, and Chad came out the following day, gave us the estimate. The work was scheduled for the beginning of the next week. We canceled for Monday due to the nasty weather, but they arrived on Tuesday, were let in by my son who went over the plans again with them, and they worked through the day and completed the job about 4 pm. My son reviewed the work, emailed me and said it was "a good job", "all cleaned up" and I could pay by credit card by calling the office if I was satisfied. Chad had said that they do not require a deposit when they do their work because they want the homeowner to be satisfied and payment could be made when I was completely satisfied with their work. We were very satisfied with the work, with their relationship with us, their sense of humor (which I also think is important), and as far as cost goes... I needed the work done quickly and they were there to do it and I'm happy.
Description of Work: Three new 15/20 amp circuits to the 3rd floor from the basement service panel. This included circuit breakers, grounding at panel, and NM type wire. Three new outdoor grade UF lines were then run to the front bedroom, back bedroom and the bathroom wiring was run through the back bedroom walls and not along the baseboard (which I feel is unsightly). One more general use 15 amp outlet was installed in the 2nd floor bathroom using existing wiring, but including GFCI, new gang box to accommodate switch for side lights and new outlet cover.

After some calls to other companies that were either not answering or were not interested in the business, Generation 3 sent a rep right away and scheduled the service at my convenience. They arrived right on time and did all the service requested, cleaning up well before they left. Their website has discount coupons that were generous. All in all, a good experience.
Description of Work: They put in a new 100 amp electric service panel and replace the main service line into the house.

All of the above was done and then some and the place was left clean. And where new outlets were put in, you could not tell from the smooth drywall job they did at the end. Finally the place was swept and furniture put back in place.
Description of Work: My whole electrical system was, if I may say, "confused". Some lights were crossed or did not come on even with new light bulbs, others flickered when on and I needed lights moved a few inches this way and that way and new outlets put in. I also needed a new chandelier installed.

We really liked them a lot. They did a really good job. They didn't do the patching very well, but the actual electric part was great! My husband had to go back and paint and make it look better.

Chad came out within a day or two of my call to give a written estimate - they are ridiculously professional, with laptop and wireless printer! Several days later, one of his employees came and did the work (can't remember his name) - he did a great job - was friendly, efficient, and did all work as promised. I had a wonderful experience with Generation 3 and wouldn't hesitate to use again. And, I learned my lesson about not paying the delivery guy cash to wire an oven even if he says he knows how to do it!
Description of Work: My brand new oven shorted out the circuit after it was miswired to the wall by a delivery guy who claimed to know how to hook up the oven. Generation 3 replaced the range outlet and cord as well as the 50-amp circuit breaker.

They were always punctual and polite, both with the estimate process and when they arrived for their work. The owner arrived with the crew in the morning and popped in and out throughout the day. Negative: One agreed-upon job was modified by the crew in the process (rather than replace the overhead light wiring, it was left as-is and a box was installed next to it). I agreed at the time and have regretted it since (my excuse is that I had mono at the time). On the sloppy side was that one of the replaced outlets was not lined up to be easily able to put on the face-plate. It was loose and wonky until I had a friend fix it. Positive: They went out and purchased a light fixture for the bathroom at the last minute when I hadn't been able to get that done ahead of time (again, the mono). They left my house neat, on time, with no visible holes, and functioning.
Description of Work: Add outlet upstairs on separate circuit, replace lighting fixture in bathroom, update outlets in bathroom, update old overhead light wiring in bathroom for future light fixture, update outlet in kitchen and change light switch location.
