I found them to be prompt and professional from the initial phone call to the very end. However, I was a little turned off by their pricing. I was given a quote for the job being done that day or a price for them to come back. I was a little uncomfortable with that but I wanted to have these things done asap so I agreed.
Description of Work: They removed and replaced a chandelier and also changed two outlets.

Reasonably priced, was 25% cheaper than another estimate. The two electricians who came out to do the work were knowledgeable, friendly and professional. They got both jobs done very quickly.
Description of Work: Converted an old direct line to our dryer to a dedicated outlet. Added exterior flood lights 20 feet further from existing flood lights.

They did several other electric works for me. They did a good job. Their prices were reasonable. They cleaned up everything. Last year they charged me $125 for replacing the ceiling fan with the new one but this year they came out to give us an estimate for replacing it. This year they have quoted more than $300. I wouldn?t recommend them as their price is exorbitant now. I would not use them again because of their price.

When Generation 3 was here before, just after Christmas, they repaired a defective circuit breaker but recommended that we replace the entire box and the outside connection. Other expenses kept us from doing so until now. We reached a human being, not voicemail, when we called their office to set up the repair. This is a major point in their favor as far as I am concerned, since voicemail is one of my pet hates. The person on the other end of the phone was courteous and efficient. We arranged for a technician to come out for an estimate the next day. His estimate was thorough, and it gave us options. After looking at the choices, we settled on the ones we wanted and set up the repair for September 11. Unfortunately, it rained heavily that day, which made the outside work impossible, so we rescheduled the repair for the following Tuesday (September 15). The technician called us himself early on September 11 to suggest the rescheduling. The technician and an assistant arrived as promised on September 15 and completed the work by mid-afternoon. In the process of replacing the circuit breaker box, the technician discovered that an old fuse box that we had thought was disconnected was actually connected. He disconnected it and ran the circuits through the much safer circuit breaker box at no additional charge. The replacement system appears to be safer and more stable than the old box, and the outdoor connection also seems to be a great improvement over the old one.
Description of Work: Replaced the outside connection to main electricity line. Replaced our entire circuit breaker box, installed surge protectors for the electrical and telephone systems, and repaired two outlets in one downstairs room.

These people are my new gold standard for contractor work. They were very pleasant on the phone and scheduled an almost immediate appointment. On the day of the estimate, the electrician came on time, looked over the situation carefully, explained the company's pricing system, and explained in detail what the job might be -including the possibility that it might become more complicated (the house is over 100, often leading to work surprises). The extimate was reasonable. On the day of the work, he was on time again. When the old house wiring required a change in the work (running a new line to the bathroom), he came to tell me immediately. He even offered me time to think over the job and price change and discuss it with my husband. He had scheduled enough time for the job so that he could stay and complete it that very day, which he did. He worked around other contractors who were working on the bathroom and house. He even wore contractor booties to keep from tracking dirt. The electrician himself was so pleasant and professional that I am heartened by the thought that I really can be completely satisfied with a house repair project. I had begun to have serious doubts that I would ever experience that feeling again. My friends and neighbors already know my experience with Generation 3 Electric, as do two strangers at a local restaurant whom I overheard wishing they knew a good electrician. Here's the miracle - I actually look forward to the next electrical project.
Description of Work: Ran a new 20 amp lline to bathroom, eliminating old knob and tube wiring and preparing for a grounded outlet. Installed a box for a new vanity light and ran a new switch leg. Installed a GFCI outlet. Hung a new vanity light.

A diagnostic visit at first. He found the problem and fixed it on the spot. Was charged only for the diagnosis and call. Very nice technician and prompt to the min time of arrival. Would recommend to friends.

I was home from work for a plumbing problem, thought "now would be a good time to get an estimate for that electrical work we need done..." so after finding this company on Angie's List, I called, explained that I happened to be home for the day and was there anyway someone could come out today, and after being put on hold for 20 seconds, the receptionist told me someone would be at our home between 12 and 2. At 12:30 John showed up - friendly, knew my name before he walked in the door, very professional, put on shoe covers at the door. He spent 20 minutes walking around the basement with me while I explained our problem, asked several questions, told us we did NOT need to spend money doing things a previous electrician had recommended, and came up with 4 things that he thought we should do (see work performed, above). He went to his car to come up with the estimate, and came back 10 minutes later (booties off to go to the car and back on when he came back in the house) with an itemized estimate in understandable English that was accompanied by the pricing guide he used to come up with the estimate. He then spent 10-15 minutes on the phone with my husband explaining what he planned to do and why, and answered all of my husbands questions. He actually seemed to enjoy his job! He was prepared to do 3 of the 4 things listed above and called in an extra team to do the last thing he himself didn't have the equipment for. The 2 other guys were as friendly and professional as John was. They were done with all of the above items in about 3 hours. His invoice was included in a packet of materials about their company's parts/labor warrantee as well as the warrantee included by the manufacturer of the surge protector. I still can't believe I got all of this work done on a day I just happened to be home for the plumber.
Description of Work: 1. Installed a 20amp line for our washer dryer b/c the line it was on previously was overloaded. 2. Installed a new switch for our flickering basement lights. 3. Grounded our electrical system with a copper grounding wire 9 feet into the ground below our circuit breaker panel. 4. Installed a surge protector for our circuit breaker panel.

It went great - as always. This is the third time we have used this company. They are the BEST. Michael came to give us an estimate. My husband had a lot of questions about the whole-house surge protection (which Michael had told me about the last time he was here). All questions were answered. We decided to go with it. The original job was to change a regular light fixture to a recessed light, we now added the whole-house protection and the labeling of the panel box. Michael is a pleasure to have in my home. Always polite and friendly. Always is careful and always cleans up. Always ready to answer any questions. Always takes the time to do it right. Can't say enough good things about this company. Oh, yeah - their web site offers coupons. I always use them. It's a total win-win with this company.

Excellent service! Two courteous young men came and did the work. What impressed me was their professionalism and friendliness. They explained what they were going to do and did it. They cleaned up after each job (which is very important), and wasted none of their nor my time by running back and forth to Lowes, Home Depot, or to their office for forgotten items that may have been needed to complete the job. They came prepared and did their job with good humor and enjoyment. Before they left, they made sure that I understood how the warranty worked; the labelling on the panel that identified what each circuit breaker controlled; and if there arose any problems in the future, whether it be with the warranty or the work that was done, how I could call them and they would be able to help me deal with it. John, the lead person for the job, after such a long and hot day, offered to help me move items back to their original places. I told him that that would be unnecessary, but he helped anyway. What a lovely gesture! To say that I am pleased with Generation 3's work goes without saying. Would I use them again, You BETCHA! They'll be coming again in two weeks to do more work for me after my return from Atlanta. PS Generation 3 Electric did extra work that was not on the original estimate, so their fee, naturally, was higher than previously stated.
Description of Work: Installed new 100 amp 30 circuit service; installed a mounted panel, whole house surge protector; ran dedicated 20 amp line behind television; installed a plug and play surge protector behind TV to protect electric & cable deviced plugged into it.

We used them sometime before Christmas last year. They were excellent. When they came out here, we told them everything what we wanted to do. They gave us a detailed quote and we decided what we wanted from that. They easily accommodated what we wanted at the end of the day.
Description of Work: The electric company replaced the old electric panel and grounded it, ran some new internal grounded outlets, replaced a few old ones, and put an outside light along with an electric box and switch.

Setup appointment efficiently. Arrived promptly. Electrician was courteous and put booties over his shoes to prevent marring our floors. Diagnosed problem and repaired defective switch quickly and to our satisfaction. Asked if there was anything else he could do, and we set up appointment for further work. Second appointment went equally well--we had old wiring in garage which needed to be replaced. This was done quickly and professionally. We would definitely use Generation 3 again.

I had Generation 3 come over to install pendant lights. When Bill began to remove the existing pendants, he realized that there were recessed cans underneath. Because that would take more time, he had to reschedule. I scheduled the next visit a few weeks later. Actually Generation 3 had to cancel because of an emergency; but they rescheduled for later in the week. This time, two guys came and did the above mentioned services. Very quick and professional. They also cleaned up pretty well after themselves.
Description of Work: I had recessed light cans that needed to be removed and pendant lamps that needed to be installed. The installation of the pendants was $75 each and the new light cans was $150 each. I thought those prices were high, but I was really satisfied with the work done.

One gentleman came to see what our set-up was and give me an estimate. He was super nice. Our basement is finished so he explained how they would run the line. He inspected the panel box and some other stuff and said that our water meter was not grounded and it is supposed to be (and why didn't our home inspector note that when we bought this house a few months ago?). He said he would do that as part of the whole job. Because we had only 20 breakers he said he would "twin" 2 lines. I asked him how safe that was, he said it was safe enough - lots of people have it that way. I asked how could I make it the safest and he said "Up-grade the panel box" I asked the cost and decided it was worth it. He did not hard sell the up-grade. He reassured me several times that twining the lines is okay. But you know it's my house, I'd rather be safe than sorry. I also had a $100 off coupon from their web site and he honored that. The work was done a few days later - it took less time then they estimated. They forgot to turn the water back on and when I called they came right back to do that....All in all I have no complaints whatsoever. I would recommend them to anyone who asked and I would use them for any other electrical work I need.

On the day of the install everything went well. The 200amp service and fan went in without issue. The quality of the work was good. However I did have a number of issues surface a few days after the install. A couple of the connections in the panel that weren't properly secured came undone and required a return visit. Also just discovered some odd behavior in the switching when it comes to the fan. Will probably need to have them out here again.

I phoned - he responded immediately - he did an A-1 job at the price he had quoted me. He was also very personable and voluntarily took my nonfunctioning MP3 player to a Radio Shack near his home to see if it indeed needed a new battery. It didn't; I wasn't charging it properly,and he returned it to me a day later!!!!
Description of Work: The electrician repaired the wiring in four separate wall switches, all of which control the 2nd floor hallway light, so it can be turned on and off from various places throughout the house.
