Bill showed up on time and did a good job. He put booties on his feet so he didn't mess up my carpet. I thought they were a little pricey but the quality of work was good. I will be using him again.

Fantastic!!! From the start to finish, Generation 3 Electrical was professional and courteous. They called to confirm our appointment the day before, arrived on time, and were friendly and competent. GEN3 was notified the week prior but the tenants weren't available until Monday after work. GEN3 had someone there at 4 pm, surveyed the problem, called me and sent me a quote for the work needed. The work and everything was completed in less than an hour. The communication was perfect by the electrician and I was able to pay by phone as well.

We had a horribly noisy and old bathroom fan that desperately needed replacing. Luke from Generation 3 came over and did a fine job swapping out the old one and installing a new one. He even replaced an outlet for us without additional charge. He was quick and efficient and professional and the whole job was done in under an hour. The fan they selected and installed is whisper-quiet and is an order of magnitude improvement over the way it was before. I'd highly recommend them.

My 1st appt was on 6/3 but they had to cancel. It was rescheduled for 06/10 at 10. The electrician came on time. Was neat, and professional. Moved my dining room and chairs, put a drop cloth down and gotto work. He had to put the ceiling fan together. Once he did,it looked nice and ran fine. Did not wobble. He explained thatthe ceiling fan could not be on a dimmer. Gave me the amount on his tablet before work began. He installed the switch for thefan and installed the dimmer switch in the kitchen.He also said that the under the cabinet light probably needreplacing and said he would send an estimate online.He was done by 12:30.I havent had any problems since. I received my estimate.

aaThey arrived on time. They placed little booties on their feet. Additional, place a tarp down on the floor.They were polite, clean and professional. The ceiling where the fan was to place was made out ofconcrete material. However that did not deter them. They just drilled right through the ceiling in orderto mount the fan's switch housing using the necessary screws provided in the box. When they weredone they tested the fan in all three speeds clockwise and counter clockwise. Mike took my coupon and informedthe copy is going wireless and will be sending me the final invoice in my email. I did not have to pay anythingbecause as mentioned previously I purchased via the "Angie List Deals " in advance for $99.00. I gavethem both cold bottled water and wished them a Happy Memorial Day. It took approximately one hour from startto finish.
Description of Work: I can not say enough about Mike and Huge from Generation Electric Co. I usually never leave reviewson products or services. However, this time I had to make an exception. I purchased a coupon for $99.00 which equaledto 200 dollars worth of electrical work inorder to get a ceiling fan installed. The gentlemen did an excellent job.They even told me that installing a ceiling fan cost less than $200.00 so they did "additional electrical work which equaledto $200.00.

Mike arrived ahead of scheduled time. Very professional and knowledgeable about the switches and how they should work. He worked completely independently (No need to keep explaining the correct wiring sequence)
Description of Work: I needed electrician to correct wiring to several 3 way switches and outlets that had been replaced and did not work properly. Mike was very prompt, he even called and arrived an hour earlier than originally scheduled. He was able to give me an estimate in about 5 minutes.After I agreed to the estimated cost he went to workwith the wiring. He completed the job in a little over an hour. All the switches and outlets worked. Mike's professionalism was incredible.

Made an appointment and the electrician showed up at the specified time. He was very professional and polite. Took a quick look in the basement and gave me an estimate. It was a little higher than I was expecting, but not enough for me to go through the trouble of getting someone else out. Work was done well and would recommend them.

Technician were professional. They install socket and lamps. However, after initial installation the crossed wires caused problems with light in bathroom. Called company and got this fixed. During installation, technicians trashed my warranty cards and boxes per company policy. Impossible to retrieve. Then, I got overcharged since company doesn’t recognize the coupons from Angie List. Intervention at the company boss helped. Charges reversed. Finally some of the sockets which Electric3 installed had to be removed. To my big surprise the electrical box with whisker was nailed to the frame using long nails. One of the nail perforated wiring and was creating danger of fire. This is very bad installation habit that i wouldn’t be aware until malfunction or re installation.

Member I agree you did not have the greatest of experiences. My goal to meet or exceed client expectations. I'm sorry that we were not able to do this this time. Our technician connected the wires to a power source that was switched. We did not find this out until the after the switch was turned off. We returned and corrected it. We do remove all the boxes and disposed of them for our customers. The home owner want the factory paper work but unfortunately they went out with our recycling before I could retrieve them. We should of asked before removing the boxes. Our policy is only coupon per customer. I waved this policy and we did honer two Angie's list coupons for this client. They were pretty good. They were really good. I liked the fact that they were really respectful of the house. The guy came in and he immediately put on his booties. I told him that he need not do that but he said he needed to, that kind of thing. They were quick, courteous and knowledgeable about what we would need. For things that they did not know, they admitted that they did not know. In terms of overall experience, there were a couple of things I thought he should know but he admitted that he did not know. Our services were underground; what his responsibility would be versus what people would be responsible for. I possibly would use their services again in the future.
Description of Work: I used the services of Generation 3 Electric Inc. They did the label on the panel special that Angie’s List was running. They came out, they labeled the panel and they gave us an estimate for upgrading the electrical service.

I would highly recommend them. They were really remarkable. I’ve never seen anybody so courteous. They were the nicest guys. They cleared off the countertops and made sure everything was safe. They covered the granite with a tarp. They left my house cleaner than it was when they started. The price was a little high but that’s partly the city I live in.

The electrician (Bill) was able to come by almost right away to take a peek at our outdated/on the fritz breaker box. He fixed the busted breaker and advised us, without being pushy, that if we wanted to use more power in the living room, we would need to upgrade the system. He quoted us a fair price without making us feel bad if we needed to wait a bit to save up some money for the job ($1,500 in all), which would involve a lot of work since its an old house and a very poorly organized breaker. I really appreciated his professionalism and promptness. I will definitely use them again when the larger job needs to be done!

Description of Work: On November 22 ran one new 15-20 amp circuit from main electrical panel. Added two new outlets in living room. Rewired four exixting outlets ($679.00). Returned on December 16 and installed new outlet on dedicated 20 amp circuit. Follow up installation necessary to handle holiday lighting overload ($265.00).

I was looking to have some speakers installed in my kitchen ceiling and have them connected to a single audio source to allow me to play music in the kitchen in synch with music in other rooms in the house. Generation 3 Electric was responsive in providing me an estimate (came out the next day), and was flexible in adjusting their schedule to perform the job the day after the estimate. The technician was on time, professional, and did a great job with the installation. The drywall patching was as advertised and he left the area clean and free of dust, dirt, etc. I am thrilled with the work they did and would use them in the future for any electrical needs that we may have.
Description of Work: The job included the installation of in-ceiling speakers in the kitchen, wiring to a receiver/unit, and drywall patching.

From the first phone call to the end of the job, this company was polite, professional, and neat. When I called for an estimate, Bill came to my house that same night to view the project and give me a price. The work was scheduled for the following Wednesday at 9. Brett and Annibal were on my doorstep promptly at 9 and couldn't have been more pleasant and professional. They kept me informed every step of the way through out the project. My house was built in 1915 so, needless to say, we had some surprises along the way which they took in stride, explained in layman's terms and assisted in figuring out the best fix. Their work was neat, more importantly, they cleaned up after the project -- not only taking all the trash with them but they also respected the fact they were working in someone's house and took the care to make sure they didn't track anything on the carpets. I would definitely hire them again and have already recommended them to friends.
Description of Work: Removed old circuit breakers and replaced it with new box, new circuit breakers, ran wiring ; installed a new outlet; installed light fixtures and a ceiling fan.

They were fine. They came when they said they would and seemed to know what they were doing. All of it cost about $450. I basically was happy with them. I thought they were expensive. When the dimmer switch didn’t work with the ceiling fan light, they came back and changed it. I would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: Generation 3 Electric Inc actually came back out to fix something that wasn’t right. Over the last couple of weeks they came and installed the ceiling fan and installed two sconces in my living room. They replaced a couple of circuit breakers.

Generation 3 technicians arrived on time, explained what thier process was and how they would go about repairing electrical issues. Both service persons that were there were professional and informative. They spent several hours inspecting and repairing the various problems that were discovered. As part of the service requested was an analysis of what parts of the house were currently supplied with electricity by the knob and tube wiring. The service provided that day was well done and met expectations. The only negative was the providers failure to provide a subsequent estimate for replacing the knob and tube with upgraded wiring throughout. I called two weeks later when the estimate did not arrive to be told by that the estimate would be mailed shortly. It has been over a month and no estimate for the more extensive work has been received. I was pleased with thier service and strongly considered using them for future electrical work but have been unable to get a new quote and am obtaining estimates for the work from other providers.
Description of Work: Service provider inspected whole electrical system and repaired some faulty wiring; reversed polarity issues and ungrounded outlets as well as evaluating some older wiring issues; knob and tube, etc.

Hi Member, We have the complete list of the circuits in your home that were wired in knob and tube in our notes. I'm having it emailed to you with a price range for replacing the wiring. We will need to meet with you a second time to put together an exact quote for repairs. There are several different ways that knob and tube can be replaced in a home. I would like to be able to go over the options in person with you. Replacing old wiring can be invasive so it is important that the contractor and homeowner are in agreement to where holes need to be made for fishing new wires. You are correct in being disappointed with us for not providing this information to you right away. There was some internal confusion in our office as to who was to take responsibly for this task. I see that in the notes that you have called into the office asking us to provide you some options for this repair. We definitely dropped the ball here. I do appreciate you pointing this out. Now, I can work on a better way to assign responsibly for this task to our team members. After all we want to help our client update their wiring.

I am in Dallas and needed to get this important work done quickly and smoothly from afar so I turned to Angie's List to find a trustworthy electrician. Generation3 had offices reasonably near the property and had good ratings on Angie's list so I gave them a try and was not disappointed. They responded quickly to my e-mail request for an estimate and provided a clear scope description and a fair price. Miranda kept me well informed both by e-mail and phone regarding progress and issues as the work progressed. Generation3 also coordinated with the inspector to make sure the installation would be to his satisfaction. Their technician showed up promptly when promised and coordinated well with our local contacts to arrange access. The work was done quickly and without complication and all communication was responsive, friendly, and professional. Additionally Chad graciously provided advice in filling out the technical information for a service request form required by the city electric utility. All in all Generation3 made executing this work from 1000 miles away seem as easy as if I were in the neighborhood. I would certainly use them again and highly recommend them.

Generation 3 Electric was one of three estimates for motion lighting. Their bid was in between the others.The electrican was prompt and professional. The job only took a couple of hours. They did have to return twice to adjust the motion sensor with no pro blem. Also after mentioning a new switch was not installed a refund was given off the estmated price.
Description of Work: Provide and install new motion controlled spot light off of existing circuit , black in color.Install a new light with a new switch by the front door.Replace the existing rear light with a motion light and install a new motion light around the corner off this light.

Called the office the day before,secretary scheduled for next day. Bil arrived on time the next day. The light in question had remained on both day and night. To be sure it was the photo cell Bill had to climb out the second story window to the roof to check it. He said I did not have to be home for them to replace it. The secretary called to give me the date when it would be done and it was replaced within a few days time. I had used Generation 3 several times before and will continue to use them. Bill and the other employees were always friendly, courteous, and on time.

Over the weekend of July 4th, I was running my window air conditioners which worked fine until I went to use my microwave oven. Suddenly I blew a fuse and the electricity in my kitchen, window air conditioners and my three second floor bedrooms were without electricity.Since I never changed a fuse before, I called my brother who talked me through finding the blown fuse. I found the fuse replaced it with the wrong amps that could be used for a short time. My brother informed me not to use the air conditioners and microwave at the same time. He also informed me to find a good electrician to get rid of my many unsafe fuse boxes. He said the best place to search was Angie's list. I joined Angie's List, searched and found Generation 3 Electric by the many satisfied people that I also agree with. When I first called, they were polite and understood my problem and that same day ,electrician Luke was at my home. I knew from that first call, visit and the many satisified customers on Angie's List that I made the right choice.
Description of Work: My home was built in 1931 and in need of up to code safe wiring. I choose Generation 3 because of their experience with row homes built in the 30's. After a through examination and understanding of my needs and a fair estimate they promptly began all the work needed within a week. They completed outside wiring from electric source to my home. Replaced old fuse boxes with a new and up to code circuit breaker panel. Moved outside electric meter into garage. This made everything neater and more accessible. Installed dedicated lines to appliances and window air conditioners to reduce load on existing lines. Installed a new dedicated line to a new ceiling fan in livingroom and replaced old worn out wall switches. The electricians were warm, polite and very knowledgable. Since the wires in my house are old and difficult to replace in the walls, the panel box that was installed will make new wiring easier when I purchase new kitchen appliances that will need dedicated lines. I intend to use them again as the need arises. .

He did the installation, it blended in with all my other electrical work. He also wired my electric dryer (at no additional cost) to test the line. He accidentally broke a light bulb (I have low ceilings in my basement), and he event swept up the debris and installed a new light bulb he had in his truck! Overall, very friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and have no complaints.
