Tenants had blown a circuit and I stopped by to check it out, ensuring they didn't overload something. Circuit would always trip once I reset it and therefore out of my scope. Gen 3 Electric worked on a price quote for a potential job I had in the past so I sent them an email before hours and as soon as they opened they called. The set up an appointment after 1pm when the tenants would be home and said that I could pay over the phone rather than the tenants or me having to be there with a check -- a big plus. Their electrician called 15 minutes prior to his arrival time so I could notify the tenants. When he arrived and assessed the situation he called to tell me it would be $249 to troubleshoot, find the short and fix the problem. If he could not fix the problem or there was another issue, he would call with an estimate. Within 45 minutes he called and told me it was a 3-way light which was wired incorrectly... one switch on the second floor had a cover over it to prevent someone from flipping it as it would trip the circuit. We forgot about that since it was on the second floor and the lights were out downstairs. The tenants flipped the switch ... and swore they did nothing. While the call was expensive and unneeded, the Gen 3 electrician wired it correctly for us so this will not happen again in the future.

I was unsure if i had a wiring or fixture problem. After a quick check , Shaun (the tech) said the new fixture that I provided should solve the problem.Unfortunely, none of the necessary hardware was in the box! Shaun was able to hook-up the fixture using supplies in his truck.Promptness (combined with a two hour appointment window !) and professionalism of Gen3 can not be beat. Will definitely use again.

They arrived on time and were extremely courteous and friendly. A difficulty arose in installing the ceiling fan switches, but Mike didn't just "bail" on the problem. He studied it, worked it out, and tried until he got the thing to work. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

IT WENT GREAT!!!! Since you want all the details, CHECK THIS OUT. I called Bill, he came out right away gave me a FREE ESTIMATE (okaaaay) He looked everywhere even in the basement, he answered all of my questions so patient with me I appreciated that. Then he emailed me the broken down estimate which is so nice. I made an appt. had to cancel it so I called they had no problem with making another one for me for 2days later. ( Now this is where you place the icing on the cake) Dan comes knocking at the door (on time) I showed him where the light was, within a hr. Dan was finished, cleaned up and everything. Dan was so nice. It's just so nice to not be taken advantage of when you need work done on your house. With Generation 3 Electric I feel safe. I thank God for you! ps. I had a fan in my bathroom that didn't work, so I bought an angie's list deal for a bathroom exhaust fan including installation. When they got here they said the duct work needed to be re-done (for a large additional cost) because it was hooked up to the same duct work as my dryer, or they could hook it up the way the it was. I asked them why I needed to have new duct work and they gave me an answer that was something like, "because that is how it's supposed to be done." I had them hook it up the way it was. After it was installed, it didn't pull the steam out of the bathroom when using the shower, and would drip a bunch of condensation on the floor. A few months later I had a different contractor at my house and he took a look at it, and he noticed the fan was hooked up to the same vents as the dryer. He told me that it was extremely dangerous to have it that way because I have a gas dryer and with the current configuration it will leak carbon monoxide. He told me to stop using it and that I needed to have a new vent run right away. I had the new vents run and the fan re-installed, and it still doesn't vent steam out of the bathroom and it leaks a condensation puddle onto the floor. I had Generation 3 Electric come back to look at the fan, and they said it wasn't powerful enough for my space. I wish they would have done 2 things differently, 1. explain to me that not having the duct work run exclusively for the fan was a safety hazzard, and could leak carbon monoxide, and 2. recognize that I had a large bathroom and point out that this fan may not be powerful enough enough for the space.

We appreciate this feedback. The frustration this client is expressing is very understandable and is not the customer experience we want our customers to have. Client was advised on original visit that the venting was incorrect and declined to have the work corrected by our electrician. The bathroom fan offered with the coupon is a standard fan and is adequate for most residential installations. Since we did not upgrade the venting for the fan, we are unable to comment on the current performance of the unit as bathroom fans must be vented correctly to effectively remove moisture.

Our bedrooms were already pre-wired for ceiling fan/light fixtures. They company came out before service date for complimentary estimate. The cost per fan installation was better than that of another highly reviewed competitor on Angie's List. After estimate, I called on a Tuesday to schedule an appointment and was scheduled for that Friday. The electrician arrived within the time range provided (somewhere in the middle). He finished by end of time range. He wore booties to protect our floors from his shoes/debris. He used his own sheets to protect other surfaces - one fan had to be installed over a bed. He cleaned up after himself and gave us instructions if we wanted to get fan remotes in the future and also told us how to rotate the blade direction when the seasons change. He was very nice and professional. He was also quite tall which helped him install the ceiling fans quickly and without any struggle. At my request, he even took a quick look at my next door neighbor's fixture and the neighbor was satisfied with his response to her query. Our fans are working efficiently so far and look great.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. The service turned out great. They came out the same week of my purchasing the deal. We had them do additional work so they came back the second time. They were definitely knowledgeable about older homes. We have 120-year old house that had a mess of electric wires. They sent a person out that was specifically familiar with that kind of project. We'll have them do some more work on our house. It was a fair price but they weren't the cheapest and probably isn't the most expensive. We were willing to pay a little bit more to someone who's knowledgeable. They called back right away. One of them was very late when they came out one day.

It was excellent !! we called them on Thursday and they arrived promptly they gave us a three hour window they arrived in the first 10 minutes (how often does that happen ) They got to work in no time . after they installed the doorbell my husband ( who is hard of hearing) said he couldn't hear it in the basement ( where he has his office) they immediately solved the problem. They were responsive. The first person that came out for the quote was knowledgeable and thorough. I had several smaller jobs I wasn't sure how to move forward with and he gave me some suggestions. He came prepared and showed me exactly what to expect and provided a quote right there. The crew came out the next week and did a fine job and stuck to the original quote. It was fine and they did a really great job. The inspection went very well. We will be engaging their services at some point. There were no extra charges. He gave me a really good run down of the wiring. For what they provide, it is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. I would use them in the future.

Dave and Bill arrived early and reviewed/confirmed the job with me before beginning the actual work. They had a plan and worked through it flawlessly. Their technical expertise deserves a grade of A+. The fans don't wobble and the dimmer switches are sooo cool. Add to that, the meticulous cleanup they did and their professionalism and I can truly say they are the best contractors I have ever had. I just wish they could do painting, plumbing, roofing, etc. These guys need to be cloned!

I've used Generation 3 Electric Inc several times. If it's something they think I don't really need then they'll tell me and if it's something they're concerned about they'll tell me. They come really quickly, the prices are good, they are efficient, and honest. I can't recommend Generation 3 Electric Inc highly enough.

I called three electricians to bid out this project. Generation 3 was by far the most responsive and professional though also the most expensive. They set up a time to provide an estimate within a day or two of me calling. Within 24 hours of that I received a detailed estimate for the work I needed completed. There was a mistake, however, on the estimate, in my favor. I called to ask some clarifying questions and to notify Gen 3 of the mistake. They answered my questions (mostly about hardware) but wouldn't give me details on how much they charge for labor since they were quoting me a flat rate for the entire package of work. And they fixed the mistake on the estimate which resulted in about a $100 higher price. No discount given to me for pointing out their mistake. It took me a few weeks to choose hardware but when I finally called Gen 3 to schedule the work, they were very accommodating and scheduled the work on the exact date that was most convenient for me. In addition they picked up my hardware from the lighting store where I ordered it and brought it with them on the day of the install. The install was pretty good. Three very professional gentlemen showed up right on time. They put down floor coverings near the front door, moved everything that needed to be moved (including clearing off countertops), covered up my counters and began working. I was gone for the first 2 hours they were working but returned home and received a complete explanation of what they were doing and the progress being made. They worked pretty much non-stop from 8 am till about 4. One hiccup was that they had forgotten some of the hardware for one of my fixtures in a van that was no longer near my house. So they had to return the next day to finish the job. They did, however, and it's all great. Gen 3 is great. You get exactly what you expect. They are timely and responsive and very professional. They are expensive. You will definitely find better pricing, but if you don't want to chase people down to get them to work for you (something I never understand), Gen 3 is your team. I would definitely use them again.
