They were very professional and courteous and took my concerns seriously. They provided a detailed report that helped prioritize repairs, although there were some inconsistencies and errors, for instance, the report indicated active knob and tube wiring. I had another electrician (also A rated on Angie's List)) also inspect the electrical system (for no charge) and he found no evidence of active KT wiring (there was old, inactive wiring). Ultimately, I hired the other electrician because he was much less expensive.

ch they I called because I had six high hat lights in the kitchen and living room. they fixed four of the six high hats--the ones that could easily be repaired by simply installing a new dimmer switch. After removing the old dimmer switch the showed me a loose wire and the serviceman said, " oh, you'll have to call us again," in order to repair the loose wire. In other words, because that was not part of the original quote( because it could not be seen until the old dimmer switch was removed) it wasn't included in the deal. They charged me $163.00 which included the Angie's List discount for ten minutes work. Two of the high hat lights were not addressed because they would have required more work--God knows what that would have cost me. I don't know, for $163.00 I expect more than ten minutes of work

Generation 3 was professional and responsive during all aspects of their scheduling and work for us. An appointment was very easy to set up, they confirmed the time of the appointment the day before and showed up on time the day of. Once at our place and shown what we would lke to have done, an estimate was given and accpeted, work was completed quickly and they even accept credit card via Square on their smart phone. They were very pleasant and polite and I would definitely recommed them to anyone needing an electrician.

I usually don't write reviews but felt compelled to in this case. Please be aware, this company's lack of care and respect to the consumer's time is awful. I schedule an appointment a week in advance to view two properties of mine. Took time off of work to be home and had my tenants take time off of work to be home. Despite the multiple email and phone confirmations the company sent, which made me think they would be different then the typical contractors out there, they were a no show. Worse they had called 4 hours before the appointment asking to come earlier - which I was working and unable to take the call. I called them back an hour prior to the scheduled time and told them I couldn't have done earlier but was ready for them at the appointed time. No call back and no show. When I called I got a slight attitude and was told they'd just have to come back another day. Not even an apology. They told me their guy was done for the day (at 3:50pm - must be nice!). Very clear to me he wanted to be done for the weekend early and just decided to skip my appointment because he couldn't be bothered to show up later then the early time he wanted to do at the last mintue. What good is all the advanced emaling and calling confirmations if they are just going to change things the day of the appointment. Beware, their Angie's list postings make it seem like they are very customer service oriented. My experience was the exact opposite.

Description of Work: We had 3 issues: (1) lights operated off of 4-way switches didn't work (Gen 3 investigated and identified that one switch had failed; replaced switch); (2) replaced under-cabinet lighting in kitchen with LEDs; and (3) outside landscape lights didn't work (Gen 3 investigated and identified bad below-ground connection and repaired it).

Amazing! I called, they came. Dave educated me on how pendant lighting works and recommended a local shop to order the fixtures. We got 3 pendant lights installed in our bathroom. The time line he gave me was perfect for the order and for getting the work scheduled. The team came as scheduled, were very polite and punctual, and did the work quickly. They installed the 3 pendants beautifully and put in two recessed lights in the shower. Gorgeous work, we are SO pleased. We will definitely invite them back to do all future electrician work. Price was exactly as quoted. Awesome experience.

Bill was very professional and courteous. It turned out well. They were at my home for about an hour. The Big Deal cut my cost by about half. They gave me quotes for other work which I thought was high, but I haven’t gotten other estimates.

They technician came and I showed him about my shower light fixture/fan/heater switches. I wanted the fuse box in the basement to be upgraded as well. I purchased a big deal coupon for this company. I remember them, they were professional, they gave a detailed review of electrical system. The way they reviewed it they gave me like a detailed pamphlet and he ran through each of the systems of my household, it was a very detailed report. They provided exactly what I wanted. I really just wanted somebody evaluate my system and I thought they were very professional. Outside of my price range though. I think I waited like two, three months after I purchased the coupon. I had old wiring and have to get an estimate to rewire the household. That's what they gave an estimate for. I love the amount of details that they left in the report and also had like pictures to emphasize certain points. I loved that amount of detail, it gives me much more knowledge of what I am going to do with it when it comes to my household.

I've used them once previously for work on a failing GFI in my old condo, and their work was equally professional and reasonably priced.

We had a light go out in the bedroom and needed it looked at. A serviceman came out and took one look at the light's wires and showed us where the wires had melted together (yikes!). He then opened the ceiling to show how the very old wiring was sitting on the ceiling beams. During the work, they also managed to find wiring held together with Popsicle sticks. We decided to have all the wiring in the 2nd floor re-done and within an hour, there was a team of men in each room ripping out the old wiring and putting in new wiring. They also replaced some faulty outlets and added new outlets, both within the walls and on top of our solid plaster walls. They added 2 ceiling fans and one light fixture. They cleaned up after themselves, and patched the walls and ceilings well when they were done. The work was done quickly and efficiently and best of all, in one day. The work came in at their estimated price. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Did not use because I felt the est. charge was way too high. Outside lamp post already connected to the box and working but wanted excessive length to be shortened in the basement and reconnected. cost over 250 so asked for ceiling fan to be installed also est. cost received was about the 200 decided not to use their service.

Bill Lutz came on time as arranged, diagnosed the problem with our external doorbell/buzzer system by fiddling with the existing mechanism, and fixed it at the same time by making a small adjustment. He installed the doorbell button I had previously purchased. When I asked how much I owed him, he said, "How does $125 sound?" I'm not saying that this is an excessive price for the repair. But when I called the day before to ask what the company's price structure was, the person who answered the phone at Generation 3 merely said that upon arrival, the technician would tell me how much the job would cost and then I could decide whether or not to go ahead with the repair. Since in this case diagnosing the problem and repairing it coincided, there was no chance for me to make any decisions. In my experience, service companies may have, for example, a fixed rate for showing up, plus a certain rate for labor, plus materials. I think that transparency with regard to the basis of pricing is essential in order for customers to be able to make choices among companies. "How does $125 sound?" made it sound as though the price were made up at the spur of the moment.

Awesome. I probably got a million quotes from electricians and, while Gen3 was not the lowest, I decided to go with Gen3 because I thought they more than made up for that in a few ways. Probably most important is that I'm hoping to rewire the whole house, but, while I'm doing other cosmetic work in the rooms, I'm also living here so I can't just do everything all at once. While other electricians basically said you need to rip everything apart all at once or we'll charge you twice as much to go room by room, Gen3 is willing to work with me as I got about working room to room which was basically a deal breaker for me. More than that, their quote was by far the most thorough and it was great to see all the work broken down into detail so there wasn't just one round number like $8000 which makes you wonder what's that made up of. Chad came out to estimate and he was super nice and great at listening to what I was hoping to do while also giving his advice, which seemed very informed. Eventually, Mike and his crew came out for the work and did a stellar job (to the extent I know anything about electric work). They had to work during some nasty weather installing the service but they powered through, impressive!! I've had a parade of contractors coming out and I've already got comments how good his job installing the service was. Mike also came out later once I had new drywall put up to install the fixtures with no hassle, just called them and they came out a few days later. GREAT!!!
