Gen3 Electric was responsive, easy to schedule and relatively fair priced. My electrician, Stan K. was punctual and courteous. He was knowledgeable about the work I wanted done and supplied me with answers for future work I am interested in doing. I will call and ask for Stan K. in the future. My only complaint is that they will not give you any ball-park estimates in advance of scheduling a job.

The guy was really creepy, he spent about a half hour looking at the jobs and spent about 25 minutes of that time on his iPad for 2 simple things. He gave me an outrageous price, went out to his truck to get a voltage tester and never came back Gen X did call afterwards to apologize and said they would send someone else but the experience was very unsettling

Issues with the technician assigned to your appointment were brought to our attention and we immediately dispatched his supervisor to check in and see what was occurring. After evaluating the situation, the employee assigned was immediately removed from the job site and is no longer employed with GEN3. We cannot make up for the bad service you received, but we are taking steps to make sure that this does not happen to any other customers. Anyone who invites GEN3 to work in their home should always know they can call the office if they have questions or concerns regarding the work being done or the technician working in their home. Everyone who works at GEN3 is held accountable for their behavior and is expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner. We take issues with customer service and satisfaction seriously. We can't recommend the two electricians Generation 3 sent to our home - Tyler Comiskey and Dan Giuliani - enough. They were courteous, professional, timely, knowledgable. In short, everything you hope for when you make a call like this, but can't know for sure is going to happen! They treated the home with respect - they worked quietly and efficiently and with great attention to detail. Very pleased and would highly recommend.
Description of Work: not an easy job! We had electrical problems resulting originally from water leaks in a radiant heating system, compounded by poor work done by those a contractor brought in to "fix" the problem.

Mike was thorough,knowledgeable, and professional in evaluating the extensive rewiring our old house. He evaluated every room,basement, outside. Gave us 3 detailed assessments and estimates for good,better,best, levels of remediation. Came back to do a room by room walk through with us explain what work in each rom would be done with options to customize. and what the disruptions would be The work is being scheduled for early 2018 so the review is for the process. I will review their performance separately when complete

Gen 3 came in and did a thorough evaluation. They gave several options for levels of interventions, revised the plan when we had modifications or additions until we were completely satisfied. The work took 4-5 weeks as 3 floors, a basement, and much of the outdoor wiring had to be redone. The team was skilled, prompt, and professional. They were able to fish the new wiring through walls and across ceilings often quite ingeniously. They minimized the necessary access holes to do the work. They cleaned up every day and they finished on time. This was highly specialized work which they do every day. So none of the quirks I our old house were unfamiliar to them. They arranged the official inspection that gave us the certification we needed and they came back promptly for minor adjustments. The price was high but considering the huge amount of work and the specialized skills required, it was worth it to us. (we also got a senior discount

Very smoothly, from friendly prompt estimate to booking the service to the service people coming and completing their work very quickly, cleanly and professionally. Gen 3 exceeded my expectations at every turn. they're very friendly in person and on the phone. They were on time, completed the work and made like, zero mess. I was so impressed and happy.
Description of Work: I had an electrical panel moved, totally redone, outdoor lighting installed, new interior lights in the front room and new switches for those also.

Repairman came the next day right on time and explained what I had done wrong. He also gave me some tips in case I change any other switches or outlets.
Description of Work: A 4 way light switch wouldn't work after I changed it, no mattered how I wired it.

We are super happy that we called Generation 3 Electric on the recommendation of a couple friends. We wanted to have an outdoor outlet installed on our patio. I submitted an online request for an appointment and got a call right away from the friendly scheduler Liz. We wanted to get it done in time for the weekend, and they were able to send someone the very next day. Keith M. was right on time at the start of the window the company gave me and called me in advance to let me know he was on the way. He was very friendly, professional and extremely knowledgable about the electrical system in our house. I showed him where we wanted to put the outlet and he reviewed everything and discussed different options for installation. He was able to quickly problem solve our lack of interior wiring on the extension so that we didn't have to cut into any walls or floors. On a really cool ipad he was able to draw up and email me the affordable estimate. He also gave me an estimate for updating our electrical panel and other outside wiring to something safer and more modern. He let us know things to keep in mind when using the electricity in the house, some safety concerns about making sure things are grounded properly when we use appliances outside and showed me how to calculate the amps that appliances use so we don't overload a circuit. He was able to get to work right away and finished the installation quickly and efficiently. He did it so neatly we are super thrilled with it. We will definitely be calling generation 3 for any electrical work we need in the future.

Josh sold the work (no pressure, very helpful, delightfully competent man), Deb and Osiris did the actual work. They were punctual, polite, and very competent. The job spanned two days. They cleaned up thoroughly each day. They eagerly explained what was happening and what my options were.

They were very good because I thought they would be able to do the outlet installation one way, however we’re not able to. But, they then figured out a way to do the insulation via a different method. I was pleasantly surprised.

They were prompt and kept us notified of any changes. They came out to diagnose the issue and quickly determined this was a quick remedy fix and shared how to fix it and where to get the parts from. Overall experience was very good. I called to schedule, and was able to get an appointment for the same week. Received reminders by email and telephone the day before. The day of the appointment, I got a call asking whether it was Ok to move scheduling up by a couple hours. I was able to accommodate, so I said yes. The tech, Josh, showed up within the given timeframe, and was able to fix all the issues that day. He talked through what he was doing, as he worked, and provided some good information that I will be able to use in the future. Josh verified that the housing of the light fixture wasn't damaged, and replaced the exterior of the fixture, which was inside a shower, with something more appropriate for the high humidity of the location. He replaced the smoke detector which, after some fiddling, was deemed to be defective. He also rewired one that was found to have been pulled out of the circuit, and was only running on battery power He installed a plate on the outlet, which had probably been left uncovered during the home's renovation because, being inside a cabinet, required longer than usual screws to attach. Last, but not least, Josh discovered that the wiring for the dishwasher was faulty. A pair of wires had been only loosely coupled together, which had caused them to separate over time, and the voltage provided to the dishwasher to fluctuate, eventually ceasing to work. The appliance plug also wasn't grounded, and may not have been rated highly enough to carry the level of current being used by the appliance. Josh replaced the cable with a thicker, grounded one, and reattached the wiring that had separated. The dishwasher itself turned out to not have been damaged, and is now working.
Description of Work: Had a handful of relatively minor jobs: - Inspect light fixture after water damage from now repaired roof leak. Repair as necessary. - Look into dishwasher that stopped functioning (refused to turn on). - Look into smoke detector that wouldn't stop "chirping" - Install plate on power outlet that had been left hanging from its wires

We got a quick response to our request for an estimate, the pricing of which was fair and transparent. The work itself took place less than a week later. Putting in the deposit was also a clear and easy process. I had no problems being in touch with the company at any time, all communication was smooth. James got to everything on our list. Knowing we’d just moved in, he also threw in some really kind touches - patching our electric box, which had begun to leak, and checking other little things that inspectors often skip. James was also chummy with our cats, and to top it off, brought in a very heavy package from outside for us! Its great knowing we have an electrian for help in the future, especially someone so respectful of our place when we aren’t there.
Description of Work: We just moved into an old house, and needed a bunch of odd jobs like adding outlets and installing a dining room light (exposing some scary knob & tube stuff).

Generation 3 Electric was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. The problems identified were clearly explained both verbally and in the detailed inspection report, including photos, that I received. An appointment for the job was quickly scheduled. Given the amount of work done - it was a full-day's job done by a two-person team - I feel the price was very reasonable. The price of the work included necessary city permits and the follow-up final inspection completed by a third-party agency with the certification submitted to Philly's Dept of L&I. Everyone I dealt with at Gen3, on the phone, through always prompt emails, and the work team itself, was outstanding.
Description of Work: During initial whole-house electrical inspection/safety evaluation (purchased with Angie's List coupon), a serious problem was identified with my service line: It was frayed and disintegrating, allowing water to run down the line into the circuit panel where rust had already begun forming. Also, the grounding system was corroded. The fix was installation of a new 100 amp electrical service which included new cables, a new panel, new circuit breakers and also a new grounding system.

They came in uniform, they email you to let you know is coming, and if something does changed they email you a picture of the person that is going to show up. Plus they gave me 10 % off. They know how to rewire old houses. They even sent me a 50 coupon got my next visit.

Gen3 responded immediately, came the next day, arrived on time, and cleaned everything. Our only complaint was the very high price of the work which was out of line with other estimates. I would give the price a "C" rating but for the fact that when I called to complain, they apologized and immediately reduced the bill. I will call them again when I need work done quickly but do beware of the price!
Description of Work: We needed a simple fix -- a replacement of an outlet box. We needed it done quickly, before we went on vacation. This was a minor electrical issue that was solved within an hour and required NO wire pulling or wall reconstruction. The electrician replaced our existing outlet box with a larger one and then reconnected the wires.
