This was extremely important because they came out right after we had a huge storm. They offered the best price that I got. They also followed up with a call after the work was done.

 + 4 morebetter than before and the workers being latino made it easier for me to communicate with. they are the best workers any one could be privileged to have work on their home. Sometimes, people do not like minority workers, however, having them i personally believe got a top rated job!
Description of Work: In 2005 our house roof began to leak in the master bedroom closet, so after doing some research from the Better Business Bureau, we called City Wide Roofing. When City Wide Roofing came to our home, they went up the roof and did the repairs. As it turned out the roof leaked after the repairs and we agreed when they did repairs to have them put in a new down spout and eve box! We were told a new roof was the only way to stop the leak, so we agreed and they put in a new roof of which we never heard called "a torch down granulated rubber roof" the owner was kind to allow us the pay the last few hundred in installments being we are both disabled. we were even told, as they advertised in the NORTHEAST Times Newspaper that anyone who buys a new roof from them gets a FREE SKYLIGHT!!! This past winter, not only did our roof leak in the master bedroom and in the bathroom but it was such a bad leak that we had to put 3 large quit holder tuperware storage containers under the leak and empty the water from the leak 5 times. When we called them, they did not get back to us (possibly they were calling others?) anyway we persisted and spoke to a woman who was kind and understanding and they came out twice: once to remore snow and the second time to renail nails that popped out and recement some things on roof.! at which time we were told roof is bad...has many cracked spots & needs to be replaced and THEY COULD NOT honor 15 year waranty even though the roof was practically brand new as they had just put it up in 07 and when we had told them another time about the problems with the new skylight they put up, one of the guys said" what do you expect with a free roof? but to give him $700 and he'd get a good skylight for us. at first we being naive thought yeh , we'd save and get him $700 until people began telling us, that if they were offering free skylights to anyone buying a new roof from them, then it had better be goood. We were angry and had to call and file complaints with the Better Business Bureau as well as THE ATTORNEY GENERAL! We even called channel 3 consumer reporter Jim Donovan regarding the horrible skylight. Then when CITY WIDE ROOFING GOT THE COMPLAINTS, they called us, appoligized, said the owner had cancer and would put up a better new roof and provide a better skylight and repair all damaged interior from their horrible roof they put up the first time. when the first sunny day arrived, we got a call from City Wide Roofing that the owner died But that they were coming over to put up a new roof and skylight. The workers came, two very nice latino workers, which was nice being that i am latina and could communicate with them earier. they did a fabulous job on both roof and skylight and even put up a foundation for skylight. the interior was not done but that is okay. sincerley, ms. hernandez and ms. kehler

 + 1 moreI called CityWide to repair my bathroom skylight which had been leaking on and off. I was told that an estimator would call in a few days because they were backed up. Ed O'Neil called and said he could come by on Tuesday 3/23 and take a look. We bought the house in '06 but i figured the roof was coming to the end of its shelf life. I called on 3/25 to let CW know that I was interested in having the work done. I was told that because of the backlog of work someone would call in a week to schedule the work. Imagine my chagrin when on Saturday 3/27 around 7:45 a.m the roofers were there ready to work! I had a call on my cell @ 6:40 a.mm telling me they were coming! Fortunately it all worked out and my wife was able to do what she needed to do while I was home. The work was great and this is the 2nd time I have used them for a roof job and already 2 people have asked me for their info. I would just suggest that the office and the estimator get on the same page as to what the customer was told.

 + -1 moreThey came out to repair a portion of the roof, however, once they got to our house they informed us that the whole roof needed to be replaced. They did this, however, they did not look at our side roofs, which later began leaking into our dining room. This is a lesson for us to learn--if roofers come to replace your roof, make sure you know if they mean all of the roofs or just the main one. We've called them about the leak and they said they'd get back to us, but it's been over two weeks and we haven't heard from them yet.

 + 1 moreEd gave us an estimate within a day of calling. Crew was unbelievely efficient and tidy. Performed the job in no time and left our yard spotlessly clean as well. Roof, Skylight, and gutter look and function great. All this and a 15 year warranty on the installation. Wonderful service.

 + 0 moreThey came the very next day even though they came late, they promised they would come. There was a storm coming the very next day. They came quickly and did the job well. They inspected the roof. They were honest enough tho tell us that the roof damage didn't cause the leaking into the house. This was caused by an ice dam. They came out later to inspect the roof. I compared their price to the others. I hired them two weeks ago to replace the roof. They were quick. There was not pressure on the sale. I found their price better than others. They came when they said they would come. They finished the work within the time frame that they said it would be done. I was pleased. Their workers were nice and their office staff was great at getting back to you.
Description of Work: They came originally to inspect for a roof leak and also for snow removal from the roof. Water was backing up and into the house.

 + 0 moreOverall very pleased. I had first contacted them when the roof cracked due to the heavy snow. They showed up the next day, while it was dark, to shovel the roof and in stall a dam breaker in the drain box on the roof. I was very impressed that they showed up despite the later hour and that it was dark. I had requsted that after the sonw they contact me again to schedule a time for an estimate. Estimate was reasonable, so I asked them to do the job 2 weeks later. They did not show up the date agreed upon so mid-morning I called and received a call back that due to the chance of rain they would be doing the work the next day. They did arrive and perform the work on the second day. Overall very pleased, but felt they were not as communicative as they should have been (i.e. why did I have to call them to find out why they had not arrived?).

 + -1 moreSeveral skylights were leaking and I called a number of roofing contractors. It did take City Wide over a week to return my call, but in fact they were the only ones who did! They provided a quote for the work associated with repairing/resealing 4 skylights on my home. They were able to complete the work the next day. I will call City Wide again for roofing needs.

We were not able to use them due to the type of financing we were using for the repairs, but their estimate was lower than the company we ended up using. Also, Johnny, the representative who came to do the estimate, was very helpful and informative. It's a shame we were not able to use them!

Roof was installed the day after the estimate was provided, which saved me from further water damage since it started raining the night the new roof went on. Initial responsiveness was not great, but the fact that they did the job so quickly made up for that lost time. Overall, a good experience.

But left lots of tiny cut scraps and nails on lawn and driveway. Still finding them a week later. Wasn't happy with installation of 2 downspouts. Ed came out next day, got on ladder, added elbows, made all corrections. Looks good.

He let me pay a portion down and then give him post dated checks to pay off the rest which was good because I was able to get all five of them done at one time.

 + -1 moreFrom start to finish they were prompt, communicative, professional, speedy, and extremely responsible. We were kept in the loop at all times and when their original estimate needed to be raised, they explained the reasons for the increased cost. Our experience was very positive from the beginning and I highly recommend their services.
Description of Work: We own a small apartment building with old roofing that predated our acquisition of the property. Over the years the building has developed leaks that we had attempted to fix ourselves but since there are multiple roofs that meet at fairly inaccessible places it was always a problem. When it became clear that our solutions weren't working, we brought in City Wide to assess the situation. They told us the roof should be re-roofed, with the possibility that it might need new decking. Their crew arrived and tore off the old roof and then re-decked and re-roofed both a pitched roof and a flat roof.

 + -1 moreCitywide was recommended to me as an exelent company and their bid was very competitive so I went with them. They had guys out very quickly and got the job done fast and it looked good, exept that they didn't put any barge board to cover the old crappy rusy barge board on the 1st floor side of the house. When I took them to task about it the contractor started fighting with me on the phone claiming that my contract specifically called for 40ft of it. The problem with this was that in measuring the barge board that was there there was only 30 ft on the house, and the little side roof needed just 13 to be finished. Also there was absolutely no mention of 40ft of anything on my copy of the signed contract. So this number had been added later. It took some phone calls, some emails and about a week. But finally they came back and put it on. However they put it on in 2 shorter pieces and did a crappy job of connecting the two pieces. It basically looks like it was banged together with some pretty hard hammer blows. It's on the side of the house over the breezeway, so I'm not going to pursue it anymore with them. It's a shame, because up until that point I was really happy with them.
Description of Work: New roof, barge board on upper level of split level roof and side 1st floor roof above the breezeway.
