He was great. I really liked him a lot. He was responsive and knowledgeable.

Someone from Andy's Plumbing came out to inspect a serious plumbing problem we had. He did a thorough inspection of the problem and told me what he thought needed to be done. He seemed to understand that this was something that needed to be dealt with immediately and really took the time to look over the whole problem. He told me he'd send an estimate by the next day. However, he never sent it! I waited for it, I called the company, nothing. It was a waste of time.

Andy came highly recommended and quickly came out to look at my existing units to provide an estimate. Andy has been MIA since. He did re-surface once (two weeks later) to provide an estimate but has not been responsive since to schedule an appointment. I tried to hold out for awhile since he came so highly recommended. I do think that someone who can get his attention will have quality work done - per my co-worker. He may not be the guy to call for an emergency. Given the lack of responsivenes, I will not be using his company. One additional note: he recommends T. Kada and Sons for installation of chimney liners. This company has done some fireplace work for me - not that professional of a firm.

I have never had a problem working with Andy's. Not sure if they take emergency calls.

Great service as usual. I've used Andy's Plumbing for about 5 years and they are great to deal with. They always return calls, are prompt for appointments, polite, professional and fair. I would never call anyone else.

Called Andy's because I'd used them before for small services. Hot water heater had leaked, was draining into the basement, and the shut off valve was stuck open (so heater kept trying to fill and spill into the basement). Even though they are NOT a 24 hr service they were the only provider who called back that night and they helped me find the main water shut off valve. They came the next day and replaced the heater and piping including a new shut off valve near the heater. They also included a 3 year warranty and documented it all on the heater itself (so I dont' have a ton of extra paperwork). Can not say enough good things about Andys.

We've used Andy's Plumbing for smaller jobs, and they've been excellent - one urgent call and one routine showerhead installation. After those experiences, I would have given them an A, overall. When we called to schedule an estimate for this larger job, we expected the same high level of service. One of the plumbers kept the appointment, inspected the basement and upstairs plumbing, and discussed details of the job with my husband. He promised the estimate within the next few weeks, and mentioned that he would be on vacation the next week, explaining the delayed timeline. This was a month and a half ago, and no estimate has been forthcoming. My husband has left four or five messages with their call service, and hasn't received a call back. We're very disappointed that we need to find another plumber.

On time, professional, great guys. Everything we asked for was done.

Andy and his assistant were prompt, courteous and very friendly. They got right to work digging out my old drain. They had arranged for cement contractors to come and do the cement work to set the new drain; however, due to the threat of rain and the contractors later than expected arrival time, Andy did the cement work himself. He dropped the estimated cement work cost by half since it was not done as planned. He had me inspect his work before he left that day, showing me everything he had done, both outside and in the basement. He gave me plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Unfortunately, after the cement dried and I came out the next day, the drain was set too high causing the water to pool around it but not flow down into it. I called Andy and he came out that day, looked at it, agreed that it was too high and scheduled a time to fix it. He essentially had to do the whole job over again and he didn't bat an eye or make any excuses. He reset the drain lower this time and it seems to be working fine. He came in at least $500 lower than the other plumbers i rec'd estimates from and had a very no-nonsense, get-er-done attitude throughout. I had him look at another problem in my basement bathroom and he suggested several lower cost small attempts at fixes before doing more expensive work, which all the previous plumbers I had out went straight for the expensive fix. He's thoughtful and seems interested in trying to do what's best for your situation.

The overall experience was good. John, the plumber was pleasant and finished his work in a professional and timely manner.

He's fabulous, and we've recommended him before. I use him for all of my properties. He took care of the problem. He is very easy to get ahold of. They are very responsive.

Andy came out the next day (within the time frame of which we agreed) and quickly solved the problem. He was thorough in terms of looking for possible issues from other joining drains. He also tested his work before leaving.

I called and explained my problem to the telephone agent. Andy called me back promptly and I explained that I would need an appointment at a fixed time and date due to restrictions with my homeowners association on shutting off water. Andy and John came by the same day and looked at the problem and agreed to a time and date for the repairs. John and a helper showed up at the appointed time. They completed the work quickly and with a minimum of fuss. They had me check the work before they left to make sure I was okay with it and it was fine. They cleaned up and did an especailly good job on caulking around the new sink. I asked for some advice on future remodel I am planning and got some good ideas estimates and information on the details. John is really congenial and pleasant to deal with. I will definitely call them when I am ready to do some bathroom remodeling.

They had given us an estimate, and told us that the fix was simple but that it would take a fair amount of time. It went just like that. They did the job, cleaned up and the dryer works fine now.

I purchased my first home last summer, in Manayunk, and knew I would need some plumbing repair and furnace maintenance. After being stood up by 3 separate plumbers (one who started a job and never finished) I called Andy's for a quote. Since my initial meeting with them, John and Andy have fixed a leaky bathtub faucet, ran a new pipe for my washing machine, and serviced my furnace. As soon as I thought I was finished with my repairs - my 90 year old house fought back! The feeder valve on my furnace broke and started flooding my basement. John was out at 5am the next day to fix it for me, and didn’t have a problem with it for the rest of the winter. They have always been incredibly professional, prompt, and I would recommend them to anyone.

The time between my initial phone call and an appointment was about a week. I thought I would be given a cost-estimate at the initial visit. However, they were ready to do the work, and, as they seemed to have the skill to correctly remove and replace the downspout, I consented to their doing the work then. Their charge well exceeded the $100.00 I paid in January 2010 to have a sewer line cleared in the cellar, but the work was somewhat different. Although I prefer to get two estimates, I didn't want to delay this repair any longer. At present, I am awaiting a daytime rainstorm to see if the line will take the water. Their guarantee is for 30 days.

Squeezed us in, showed up on time and snaked the drain until it cleared. Took the time to explain how drain was set up (very old house) and patiently answered all of our questions.

He also hauled away the old as well. I was impressed with his service. The serviceman was a nice guy. Every time I called he returned my calls, he quote me the prices.

Overall, an excellent experience. Andy was very good about showing up when he said he would, and great about returning phone calls (an absolute rarity). He called to let me know he was running late the morning he came out to do the work, which I appreciated. When they hooked up the stove, they even set the clock for me! The hot and cold water lines were switched by the old contractor, which I discovered when running the water in the kitchen sink after Andy had left. I called the office and Andy came out right away and took care of it. I also really appreciated that he was honest about what needed to be done to the shower nozzle and was delighted when he said it wasn't a big a deal to take care of, and then didn't charge me anything to do it! Highly recommended.

John showed up 5 minutes early. He evaluated the problem and fixed it very quickly. He cleaned everything when he was done. He was extremely friendly and courteous. I didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of, like I have felt in the past with other plumbers.
