Andy's Plumbing & Heating Co

We have been using Andy and John since we moved into the neighborhood six years ago. Why? Because they are honest, pleasant, trustworthy, and good at what they do. Most recently, our hot water was reduced to less than half. I thought I would be spending $1,000+ for a new hot water heater. John came out on Friday; assessed the problem, which turned out to be a corroded heating element; and promised to be back on Monday with the replacement parts (decided to replace both heating elements). And, as good as his word, John showed up early Monday afternoon to do the job. In addition, I had him remove a hose that had fused to an exterior faucet. John got the work done, no muss, no fuss. Pleasant surprise: the cost was less than we originally discussed and several hundred dollars less than a new hot water heater. Finding a trustworthy, competent trades-person can be a challenge. So, when you do, don't let them go. That is why Andy's is the only plumbing and heating company we will ever use.

Andy came out the day after I called. He was neat, efficient, and quick. He even ran an 8 wire line so I don't need a new line run when I get an AC.

I have used Andy's many times before for plumbing issues. This was the 1st for A/C. He came out the same day I called. Assessed the unit. Found the problem, got the part and fixed it at a great price. No matter who you get from the company, they are always friendly and get the job done quickly and properly

We had one radiator (on the 2nd floor) that wasn't getting hot despite all our other radiators working perfectly fine. The one radiator happened to be in our baby's nursery. We called Andy's plumbing and heating- they first came and checked the whole system. We noticed the radiator still wasn't working after they left, so Andy's team then replaced the valve to the one radiator that wasn't working. This still did not fix the problem. We had some difficulty getting in touch with Andy for a few weeks, but when we finally did, he came out a third time to investigate the problem. We figured out it may have had to do with our kitchen renovation a few years ago and the reconfiguring of pipes. He spent a while in our basement trying to figure out the reconfiguration and determined that we would need a separate pump to circulate the water more efficiently to that one radiator. He came out within a week to install the pump and he fixed the problem! We finally had heat in the nursery and we are so grateful that Andy was persistent and determined to figure out our problem. We were concerned we'd have to go all winter worrying if our baby was warm enough at night. Although Andy's company was initially hard to contact (his number goes to a messaging system)- he eventually redeemed himself by fixing our problem efficiently and not charging a big cost for all the visits his team had to make. He and his workers were also very kind and respectful of our baby's naps while they were working. We'd definitely call them again for any plumbing/heating needs.

I have been a customer of Andy's for several years now and he is consistently polite, on-time, efficient, and performs quality work. I went through Andy's list so I could write him a great review. They are really the best in the neighborhood. Andy will be back to install an outside hose hookup, install a dishwasher and swap out a plastic faucet that came with a utility sink. He was here in January to do various jobs and last Spring, 2014, he installed a new hot water heater. I highly recommend Andy and his team for the above-stated reasons. Thanks Andy!

Andy and his team are great! High marks to John and his partner for doing most of the mussel work. They were very prompt and when Andy didn't have the right equipment (because I thought it was a simple clog) he had John here very quickly with the right stuff. Bravo!

I called yesterday morning, got Andy's answering service, who would have Andy contact me. Andy called me back yesterday afternoon and scheduled me for today. He came right in, was polite, and got the job done in about 15 minutes. Didn't have any checks left in my checkbook, so he left an invoice and allowed me to send him a check. I would definitely recommend Andy for any of your plumbing needs.

I think this behavior is totally unprofessional and unforgivable. A professional businessman should return calls and do as they say they are going to do. A customer should not be left hanging waiting for return phone calls that never come. At one point (our last contact) Andy said he was with a client and he would call me right back that night when he was finished. That was almost a month ago. I ended up purchasing the water heater directly from a local plumbing supply company and had a friend install it for $800 less than what Andy was going to charge me for only 2 hours work. So it's not like he wasn't making money. Any professional contractor who wasnt interested would simply return the call and say I'm sorry but I'm no longer interested. Then the customer knows to move on. There is no excuse for ignoring a paying customer. If a businessman ignores you when you are trying to give them business how will they respond to a problem?

Andy's Plumbing has done plumbing repairs for our family for years. They arrive promptly, do quality work, and clean up afterwards. Their pricing is reasonable. In addition to the hot water replacement, Andy's has replaced outside faucet valves, sink and garbage disposer, and a toilet. I highly recommend Andy's for your plumbing needs!

It was very good. They were efficient. They were perfect. When they said they were going to be there, they were there. They came, they did the job, they did it efficiently. I'm very pleased with their service.

They arrived the next day, were prompt, clean and affordable. The problem was properly repaired.

I've had a couple emergencies over the years and both times I called Andy. He get someone out quickly to take care of the issues and restore the water. I showed him the problem and he and John jumped right on it and were done in no time at all.

Andy's plumbing never followed up. Left us stranded without heat for five days. Never called to follow up. I called them up to have the part returned. I had it repaired within an hour by a friend and let Andy's plumbing know that the part was ready to be installed. I received no call back. I called again this morning and was told that they would not be by for at least two days. I reminded them that we have no heat and that the reinstall was just a small job. I was told too bad! I have a small child who has to stay warm and now need to find another plumber/HVAC person. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY!!! THESE GUYS ARE UNRELIABLE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!

One of the nicest contractors I have ever met. I called him with an emergency at 8:30PM on Friday night of Labor Day weekend. Not only did he come right over and fix my problem, he spent additional time explaining several other issues to me and provided me with multiple options for fixing them. It's such a pleasure to find someone who values your business and takes pride it what they do. I would recommend Andy to anyone, he is a true professional.

Well, he never got back to me. He said he'd be in touch with an estimate. Two follow up calls to his office were not returned. Now that I've read other reviews, other people have said the same thing. I just wish he would tell people that he doesn't want a specific job, rather than make you wait for the estimate and try to chase him around, and then finally get discouraged and give up. Not really professional.

They were very good. The price was reasonable and they were on time for the job.

They arrived at the time agreed upon and understood the problem right away. They removed the old pipe, cleaned out the clog that led to the main drain pipe and added the new section. The job was done in about 1 hour. They explained that at some point my main drainage pipe would have to be replaced but that everything should work fine and it has.

My local hardware guy had recommended Andy as highly competent but a little pricey. Because he is a local plumber it was a simple decision. Andy may be good in an emergency but I would not use him for routine work since he has proved himself unreliable in this area. He has not responded to phone calls or email about the additional work I wanted done. I will not use him again.

The man was supposed to install a part for the air conditioner and heating unit. He said it would take about a week to get a part. I called a week late and he said that it has not shown up. I waited another two weeks and left a message and he still has not returned my 2nd phone call.
