Description of Work: Andy has been my plumber while I lived in this house and the one before us, that is since the mid-1980's. He has done a full range of plumbing jobs on both houses. I can count on him in any emergency. He has advised me well and has a wonderful staff who has been with him through many years. He and the people who work for him are trustworthy, reliable and extremely kind. I call on Andy for all my plumbing needs.

Description of Work: Our bathtub started to leak, so we contacted Andy's Plumbing for an estimate. The service employee came out for an estimate, and told us the we just needed to caulk the tile. He then went ahead a caulked the tile himself free of charge.

Description of Work: There were really two parts to the experience so it is hard to rate. We had a couple drains that were clogged and he unclogged the drains without a problem and really seemed reasonable and honest. That was fine. In addition, we had a problem withour shower and he said it needed a part and that we shouldn't use it until he fixes it. i waited for two weeks and hadn't heard from him so I called back. he did call me back and apologized that with the holidays he didn't followup on it and said he would look into what happened with the part and he would get back to me. Well, he never did get back to me. i called about five times and it has now been one month without use of our shower. I have been reluctant to start with another plumber but finally willhave to turn elsewhere.In the meantime, now we have to pay someone else to come out and re-order the part and it will be another few weeks without use of our shower. We called a guy who deals with this manufacturer who stated it shouldn't take more than a week at most to get the part.

Description of Work: My dryer would not get hot. They arrived and took a look at the dryer and knew immediately what was the problem. He went to his truck and got the proper part and replaced it and now my dryer is working again. The job took under 1.5 hours.

+ -1 moreI called three plumbers on the Friday evening, and Andy's was the first to call back. He came to the house at the appointed time and rebuilt the toilet shutoff valve and innards. It looks very professional and has a 5 year parts and labor warranty.
Description of Work: The Friday night of Labor Day weekend our third floor toilet began running continually, and we discovered that its shutoff valve was stripped. We could not turn off the water at the toilet. Therefore, we had to turn off the cold water to two bathrooms. We needed a new shutoff valve and new innards to the toilet. In normal circumstances I could have done much of the work myself, but the pipe soldering was going to be too tricky (soldering close to the floor boards). It was very inconvenient without cold water to our two bathrooms.

+ 0 moreTwo of Andy's guys came over right on time, and within 1 hour, completely fixed everything they had come to fix. They were both very personable and had good senses of humor. I will be using Andy's for all future work whether it be in the city or in the suburbs.

+ -1 moreWe could not be happier with Andy's Plumbing. Andy contacted us immediately, showed up in an hour for our emergency, and fixed the problem immediately. He told us the price up-front and what was included. Since the fix was so quick, he was going to give us a reduced price on his standard rate, but we decided instead to pay him the full rate and have him snake a slow drain for us as well. For both problems, he discussed in detail what was wrong and how he chose to fix each problem, and had us run water through the house for a while before he left to make sure that the drain was completely clear and working properly. We'll definitely be using him again.
Description of Work: We had a sewer backup on the bottom floor of our house. We placed an emergency call to Andy's Plumbing, received a call from Andy himself within 10 minutes, & he arranged to come to our house an hour later, on a Saturday afternoon. He found & fixed the cause of the backup in five minutes. He also snaked a slow drain on that floor which is now working great.

PROVIDED ADDED ADVICE ON OTHER PLUMBING ISSUES BUT DID NOT RECOMMEND FURTHER WORK AS IT WAS NOT NEEDED. CHANGED THE WATER SPICKET WITH NO CHARGE.
Description of Work: REPLACED A SECTION OF THE MAIN DRAINAGE PIPE EXITING THE HOUSE. A DISCHARGE PIPE FOR A WASHING MACHINE HAD BEEN BROKEN OFF AND A HOLE IN THE PIPE. THE DISCHARGE PIPE WAS ALSO REPLACED. THEY ALSO REPLACE A WATER SPICKET THAT I WAS UNABLE TO GET LOOSE.
