Provided great service thru out the entire process from quote to finish of job. Bill (owner) and all employees were easy and a pleasure to work with. Workmanship was great. Wall was completed ~ 1 year ago, it stills looks as good a the day it was finished.

I have wanted to have a parking area built at the bottom of my steep 1/3 acre lot for a long time. My initial phone call for a quote in March was answered promptly and I had an appointment two days later to go over the job. The estimator arrived promptly after calling to confirm he was on the way. We looked over my site and discussed various options and he sent me a quote the next day which outlined the job and all materials to be used. I had also gotten 2 other quotes, one much higher and one somewhat lower, but I was impressed with both the professionalism of the Wall King representative, the quality of work shown on their web site and the excellent reviews on Angie's List so I went ahead and had them book me on their schedule for Spring installation. They contacted me in late April to firm up a date and kept me advised over the next couple of weeks as to when they would start. They were actually able to start a day earlier than planned, doing the initial excavation on a Sunday (with my permission) which was handy since I could be there all day while they did it -- this enabled us to make some decisions about the layout and also what to do about some old drainage pipes that were uncovered. The project manager also came by on Sunday to talk to me about the details of the job and with samples for me to select the color of the retaining wall blocks that I wanted. The crew returned the next day, Monday, and got the whole job done and the site cleaned up by mid afternoon! The installation looks fantastic, far better than I could have imagined. I have worked in the construction business myself for over 30 years so I know a good crew when I see one and these guys were top notch, hardworking, well organized and considerate. They clearly understand how to properly grade and drain steep sites and how to construct a wall that will stand up to conditions. The cost was well worth it and has probably increased my property value at or above what I spent. Very professional company. I'm so pleased that I plan to have them do some more work adding walls to the slopes in my front yard where I can enjoy looking at them. The only drawback to the project just completed is that I don't get to admire it much since it is in the back yard! Wall King has my whole-hearted endorsement. Excellent work at a fair value price.

WENT WELL! THE WALL LOOKS GREAT. EVERYONE ON THE CREW WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL, FRIENDLY AND POLITE. THEY DID A GOOD JOB OF CLEANING UP WHEN THE JOB WAS COMPLETED. I WOULD DEFINITELY US THEM AGAIN.

The work was done in four days as promised. There was constant communication about the progress of the work and adjustments were made as necessary. For instance, he installed 16 trees at no additional cost. Excellent work overall. I highly recommend this company.

I received three bids from providers off Angie's List, his was by far the best. He was phenomenal. His crew was great, they were clean and the work was beautiful. His design work was wonderful, he let me know it would work out better than what I had in mind and would be less expensive and he was right.

Cleaned up, and hauled away old debris.

Kept me well informed of scheduling. Arrived on agreed morning early with a crew of 4 including owner. Work was extremely well organized and they handled a change requested in path of wall without missing a beat. All work was completed by 3:30 pm including a very thorough cleanup of the driveway, street and yard. Price included cost of good quality wall block.

First impressions are always important. Bill showed up on time for our quote meeting. He was informative and professional. After letting him know we opted to go with Wall King, he set an appropriate expectation for the start of work, and also stopped by a second time to confirm the job details. The job started and finished on time and within the quoted price. All of the people on the crews - a second crew was brought in to do the concrete work - were friendly and professional. They even seemed happy to answer the numerous questions we had. I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist and the concrete crew was quite patient as we worked through the best shape for the front walk. At the end of the job, the area was prepped for grass and landscaping, a great finishing touch! Overall, we are very satisfied with the work Wall King did and would hire them again without any hesitation.

This was such an easy company to work with. Bill and his crew took the time to talk to me about the details of the project (including details I hadn't considered) to make sure we got what we wanted. The new wall looks great and is a million times more stable than the wall they replaced. I think they went above and beyond to provide optimal drainage around the new wall. They also took the time to reseed the bit of yard that needed to be dug up to put in the new wall. I wish all service providers were as pleasant to work with!

I was very happy with Bill at Wall King and his entire team. They completed the work in the estimated time frame, they kept their worksite clean and well organized, and the walls that they installed look great! The work came in at the exact price in the estimate. I would definitely recommend Wall King in the future.

Bill and his crew were extremely professional and courteous. Bill was communicative throughout the process, making sure he understood what we wanted and that we would be happy with the result. They wasted no time and got everything done in one day. I would definitely hire Wall King again.

Bill came out and gave us an estimate of the work to be done. After gathering 5 proposals, Bill wasn't the cheapest (although he was in the ball park) but he did make us feel more comfortable with choosing his company to do the job. Approx 2-3 months later (due to being booked out that far) we got the call that he was going to come out. The crew leader, Bob, made me just as comfortable with Wall King as Bill did. I explained the job to Bob as Bill and I had discussed, and Bob got the crew started. These guys were fast (completed in a day), and did a great job! A retaining wall isn't really something to get excited about, but we love our new wall! Hopefully it doesn't budge over the years to come. I would definitely recommend Wall King to anyone.

I contacted Wall King early in the year to get an estimate on replacing the retaining wall on the front of our property that was getting ready to fall over into the street. Bill came out a couple days later to give the estimate and explain what he would do. At the same time, he also gave us an estimate on replacing an old railroad tie wall in the back of our property that had basically deteriorated to nothing. The estimates were very reasonable and Bill was very punctual and professional. However at that time, we ended up hiring a different contractor who we had worked with previously. However, that turned out to be a disaster, so later in the summer I contacted Bill again to do what I should have done in the first place, and hired him to replace the retaining front wall. At that time of course, Bill's schedule was pretty full (no surprise given how good he is) so we had to wait a few weeks for the work to begin, but that is completely understandable. A few days before the work was to commence, I noticed that yellowjackets had made a nest in the garden behind the wall that was to be replaced. I was going to call a service out to deal with them, since I am not equipped to deal with such things (my family has a history of allergies to bee/wasp stings, so I don't take any chances). However Bill said not to worry about it, and he would deal with them himself, which he did. On the day of the work, Bill and his crew were out at around 7 in the morning, and were done before noon. Amazing! They were even able to deal with the fact that access was slightly limited because there was one car parked on the street that we could not identify to get moved. The wall is absolutely gorgeous, and I'm sure it will last for many years. He integrated it perfectly into our front stairs, and into the neighbor's wall. Bill was even able to accommodate some design changes made after the original estimate (making the wall a little taller) without any trouble at all. I have now asked Bill to do our rear retaining wall as well. He's booked solid for the next few months, but I'm fine with that because I know that when he comes out, his work will be top notch and well worth the wait.

These guys were fabulous. They showed up on time and did everything we planned and more. Bob even placed our trees in the holes for us and blended it all together for a perfect result. We are really pleased with his attention to detail and how organized he was. He was easy to talk to and has a very good eye. I didn't get his co-workers name, but he was a great assistant. I am very, VERY satisfied with this company.

The quote, compared to one we took, was higher. He knew what he was doing. We had seen work he had done before. He told us right up front exactly what he'd do and had no problem with that. Actually, I think he called us back the same day with the price. We said we would let him know if we wanted it in writing.

The service was great. He was very easy to work with, and he was extremely helpful in making sure I understood exactly what was happening. He was very thorough in his explanations, and just all around great to work with. I would recommend him.

I had an old, rotting railroad tie retaining wall that desperately needed to be replaced. Also, the hill leading down to the wall was so steep that it was impossible to cut the grass with a mower so I also wanted that landscaped. I has problem getting anyone to come out and give me an estimate. I had seen Wall King signs driving around my neighborhood and checked them out on Angie's List. I emailed Bill in early April and he was there on 4/6, showed me several options, made some recommendations on the block/landscaping and then gave me an honest estimate (mid to late May) of when he would be there to do the work and how long it would take (2 days). On 5/21 he showed up with a team of about 8-10 guys and some heavy duty equipment. By the end of the day, the job was complete. The wall looked great. The steep, grassy hillside is now replaced with blue junipers and gold cross cypresses. Also, the job site was immaculately clean with no damage to my property. Definitely will use Wall King again.

I am very happy with the service Wall King provided. The day I first called and left a message for an initial estimate to replace our wall, my call was returned within 10 minutes. Bill came out the same day and gave his estimate. Bill was very friendly, and his price was the best of all the estimates I had received. I was told the work would take 2 days to complete. Wall King arrived promptly on the date I was told work would begin. Demolition of the old wall was done this day, and all debris was hauled away. The next day a team of workers arrived at 8am and began working immediately. The new retaining wall was completed by 1pm. Excellent work, and the wall looks great! I will be using Wall King again when it's time for our remaining wall to be replaced.

Wall King showed up when they said they would. They removed old wall and debri and replaced it with new wall. They had all the work done in the time they said they would ( less then 8 hours ). Very good workmanship. Very pleased with the result and manner in which they worked. Would use them again !!!!!

The onsite team arrived promptly, as well as demonstrated an exemplary level of care, competence, and courtesy while working on our project. Bill was very friendly and personable. I liked him immediately, and he had some great suggestions for our backyard. He was our first quote for this work in early April, and I wanted to look around before agreeing to anything. I got a few more quotes, and found that Wall King had the best price and we liked the design the best. We had him back out a second time to just go through the project again to finalize little tweaks on design to perhaps lower the cost a little more, and he said he would call us in July when his team would be able to do the work. He said we did not have to sign anything and he didnt want any money until he was done. The work was done in early August and the entire project was done in only 2 days. Before they began, I asked that the workers stack the concrete bricks from the stairs they were going to remove on the patio as I wanted to use them for another project, and they said no problem. After less than half a day, the workers (only a few guys with some heavy machinery) had cleared everything out and I was asked me to come out to approve their layout of where the wall would go. I okayed it and they went back to work digging the trenches. After only a couple more hours they had begun laying the Versa-Lok. After 2 layers they again asked me to come out and approve their work. I asked that the wall running along the fence extend a little farther. After each extra brick they had me come out to see what I thought. They ended up extending the wall by 3 extra bricks, and then they went back to building it up. By the end of the first day it looked almost done! The second day had fewer workers and was just the finishing touches mostly. They finished the wall and put the top finishing bricks on, backfilled, removed excess waste and haued in clean fill dirt, smoothed everything out and finally seeded and spread some hay around. Our backyard was completely transformed!! Comparing pictures from just 2 days before I was shocked at how ugly our yard was before Wall King came. Not only was our yard now NOT a complete eyesore, but we gained so much more useable space! We were completely happy with our new yard and beautiful retaining wall, and then Bill called to tell me that our final price is likely less than what he originally quoted us since they did not use all the materials they thought they would for our project. WOW! He could have just said that the estimate was the price and we would have been none the wiser. After a day or so he forwarded me a copy of the invoice, and we owed $7350!! If we were happy with Wall King before, we were over the moon after that. And finally, the seed they put down sprouted quickly, and we reseeded several times so it would come in thick. My husband just mowed for the first time yesterday (Sept 16) and it looks amazing!! Bill is friendly, professional, easy going, and honest, plus he has some great design ideas. His company's workers were polite, efficient, and professional. The price was fantastic. And the finished product is gorgeous. We are extremely happy.

Excellently! We were impressed with the zpparent competence of Bill Fenk, the owner of the comany when he came to bid the job.. We agreed on him doing the work 11-28-12, starting at 8:00.At 8:00 he and his five man crew, and all the equipment they needed for the job were here, The men have been with him several years, and it showed in their smooth working together. Bill had planned that the job might take two days, but everything went easily. Good weather, soft dirt, no unexpected problems, so they finished in one day. Bill adjusted the bill down from his estimate to reflect that fact.

We selected Wall King from several other bids because of the price and several helpful suggestions to lower cost and improve the overall appearance of the project. The whole job was completed in just two days. The area was left clean and in order. The job turned out better than expected. They did a particularly good job with the cut barnstone steps, looks great. These fellows had the know-how that I was seeking. I would recommend Wall King and use them again.
