Description of Work: Spoke with a contractor who listened to the job to be estimated. I was told that they would contest me early the next week to come out for an estimate. As if today 8/25 no call, no show. A businessmans word is his most important asset. It establishes trust. This is an example of poor professionalism. Now no trust can ever be established.

Highly recommend him and we are in the industry ourselves and know when someone is excellent or not. You won't go wrong with this young man.

Description of Work: This is the second time I contracted with Rossini construction. I wanted a general contractor who could complete many different tasks in order to avoid having to manage many different specialists. I was not disappointed. I have already written a strong review about this contractor's outdoor work. I was pleased so I asked him for quotes on multiple large indoor projects, including a new Brazilian cherry hardwood floor in the living/dining room area, a new porcelain tile floor for the kitchen, an upgrading of all moldings, baseboards and doors on first floor, replacement of all windows throughout the house, and replacement of two sliding glass doors. Nick and his staff did very good work across all of these projects and the first floor of the house now looks fabulous. As with the work outdoors, I found Nick to be very well organized, responsive and very honest. He made a point of trying to locate high quality materials at the lowest possible price. Generally when he told me he would start a job he did so and if he couldn't on a rare occasion or two, he called to explain why. My only issue was his failing to thoroughly clean up on several days when grout dust had a tendency to accumulate in the kitchen and adjoining dining room. However this was no reflection on the quality of the work.. Nick even replaced several hard wood boards that he had just laid down because they were slightly scratched as a result of moving some heavy furniture. He did this at his expense. He exhibits a lot of pride in his work. So in general I was very pleased and would recommend him.

I have now hired Nick to do some major inside remodeling (window replacements, hard wood floors, and kitchen tile) and expect the same work standards for these jobs.
Description of Work: I retained Nick's company since I needed a generalist handyman to build a new two story deck, replace a garage door, remove mold from the walls and ceiling of the garage, eliminate a water accumulation problem in the garage and repair the switch cords on several ceiling lights in the house. So I had multiple jobs and wanted to deal with just one firm. This was not for my home but for my daughter's in the Andora section of Philadelphia. I reached out to Nick based on consistently good ratings on Angie's List for different types of repair and remodeling jobs that he had completed. Once I talked with him and his father, who works with him, and received a quote for rebuilding the deck, I decided to hire him for all of the jobs above since the quote for the deck was actually a bit lower than several I had already received and it included the use of synthetic materials rather than just weather proofed wood. I was also impressed with his suggestion that the mold in the garage wall board could be "superficial" and not throughout the wallboard and if that's what they found they would merely have to kill the mold topically without having to replace the wallboard. This is in fact what they found to be the case which saved a lot of money. . In summary I have been very happy with Nick's work and the way he does business in general. Although he is still relatively young, he has worked with both his grandfather and father on home building and remodeling for quite some time and his experience shows in the way he approaches tasks and in the quality of his work. I found him to be quite responsive to me throughout the process and he completed his work on time and on budget. There was one issue that came up with the light repairs. I did not like what he attempted to do to replace the switches the first time through and he agreed, improvised, and came up with a good solution. He also decided not to charge me for this task (it was a small charge) since I was not happy with his original work.

Overall, I was/am very pleased with the work performed as mentioned above.
Description of Work: My side roof was leaking and water was running down into my basement, damaging the wall. Rossini Construction built my roof up to allow the water to drain off into the drain spout and the roof was sealed and covered to protect from future water leakage. So far, there has been a lot of heavy rain and thankfully, no water running down the wall.

The one small issue that we had is that Nick neglected to notice that two of the screens needed for the porch are larger than the others, and the screening that he brought intially (which he got from Lowe's) was too small. He had to order the larger screening. Therefore, it was another week or so before the job was completely finished. But he installed a nice doggie door in the bottom of the one screen door which entailed construcing a base for it. Then he went out of his way to get an additional heavyweight mesh screen on either side of the doggie door to prevent the dog from going out any way but through the doggie door. Not only does it work, it looks very nice as well. While he was here finishing up that job, I asked him to do a few small jobs like fixing the door to the cabinet that holds the garbage can. He went to the store and got new hinges and chains, and the door is now better than ever - with a nice tight fit. In the meantime, he repaved the entryway fixing some additional areas that we had not initially discussed but which made the job look all that much better. There was no charge for that extra work.
Description of Work: Nick performed several jobs for us: rescreened our porch repaved an entryway installed a doggie door fixed a broken trash can holder cabinet door installed a light cover on a recessed light fixture He is continuing to work with us to find the problem of an overflowing gutter. This work may entail digging up and cleaning a burried down spout. All of his work is excellent. He is polite and very responsible. His prices for the bigger jobs (rescreening and paving) were considerably lower than other estimates. His prices for the smaller jobs are a little higher, but he is willing to do what ever needs to be done while he is there including running to the store to get any needed parts.

I cannot say enough good things about Nick Rossini. I am out of town almost every other week for work, so I didn't realize that the replacement windows (replaced maybe 4 years ago) in my kitchen had started to leak badly when it rained. It had probably been going on for at least a month when I noticed it. Ugh. You can imagine. I called a few people on the list, but only Nick said he could come out the next night, which was crucial since I was leaving again, for two weeks. After a full day of work, Nick came over at 9:30 pm (he had been in touch to let me know his timeframe and to make sure things weren't getting too late for him to come over and give me an estimate). He told me his assessment of what had probably happened when my windows were installed and gave me an estimate on the spot. We shook hands and I gave him a house key, since Angielist has never steered me wrong yet and I had a good feeling about him. Also, I didn't have too many options - my flight was leaving the next day and it's been a wet spring - something had to happen.Nick was very communicative through text, as he said he would be, while I was gone, and when I got home to Philadelphia from Minnesota the windows were totally squared away. No leaking AND no cosmetic changes in my kitchen. I truly don't know how he did it, though he did explain. As a woman living alone with no family nearby, I really appreciate having someone I can trust and depend on to do what he says he will when he says he will. Nick's my go-to guy - DON'T CALL HIM!!!!!! I still have some things I need him to fix!
Description of Work: Replacement Andersen windows in my kitchen (outside-facing wall, installed 4 years ago) had started to leak when it rained. Too much moisture in the kitchen - bugs, mold, ick. I spoke to Andersen and it became apparent the windows had not been installed totally correctly.

Description of Work: Rossini Construction came in with a mid priced estimate within 3 bids. He had done a quick job previously at a great price and without any hassles so I felt confident in their professionalism and competence.. I still got 3 bids- just for my peace of mind. Nick Rossini was really easy to work with in terms of being open to my ideas and requests- another contractor had a little bit of an ego which in itself is a red flag to me. Rossini did the job (he also researched some material options) gave a written, itemized estimate, and did the job. Looks and works great, no drama in the process. THANKS!

I contacted Nick based on recommendations here on Angie's list, and immediately he was responsive and easy to work with. I had a short time frame for the initial estimate due to the home inspection deadline for the house I bought, and he came right out and was able to schedule the work for a few weeks later after closing. He was prompt, within his very reasonable budget and was knowledgable about all aspects of the job, as confirmed by independent sources. I have recommended him to others and would hire him for further work without hesitation.
Description of Work: I purchased a home, and I hired Nick Rossini to take care of a number of projects, large and small, before moving in. He removed the gravel floor in my detached garage, added drains and poured a concrete floor that has shown absolutely no signs of cracking in the months since, and the drainage is excellent (my property slopes towards the garage). He repaired my porch roof and replaced the columns, which were rotted, painted a number of rooms in the house and did some grout work in the bathroom.

Throughout the process Nick was very receptive to our requests and often made suggestions for consideration. We had an idea of putting the island on wheels - Nick made the change. We then changed our mind - Nick said "no problem" and changed the island back to the original design. Overall, it was a pleasure dealing with Nick throughout the entire process. He has experience beyond his years and is a hard worker. We felt we got very good value and would not hesitate to hire Nick again.
Description of Work: The job Nick was hired to do was to update a 1950's kitchen. First, a number of hard-wired appliances were removed and disposed; new fridge, stove and dishwasher were then intalled. A new water line was installed for the refrigerator in the kitchen and the old refrigerator was moved to the laundry room and installed with a new water line. Old flooring was removed, the floor leveled with new underlay where required and a new floating hardwood floor installed. Nick brought various hardwood samples from which to choose - the reason was that he could buy the flooring at a much better price than we were able to find. Similarly, with new granite counter-tops, Nick suggested we look and find something but ultimately he found the same granite at a company he had used previously. Granite from Nick's contact was less expensive; templates and installation was overseen by Nick and done professionally in a few hours. Nick was also able to build a new island that matched the existing built-in cupboards; he also installed power to the new island. Lighting, hinges, draw slides and other hardware were updated for the built-in cabinets. Nick removed all the old arborite backsplash and installed glass tile; where tile was not required the surfaces were made "paint ready." Each day, debris was removed from the kitchen and it was swept before leaving.

Nick is a very talented young man! Came when he said he would, worked quickly and efficiently. Several people who have seen the closet he built have been "wowed" by his handiwork! Installed hanging shelves and sliding doors on the closet and painted new closet to match existing walls. Bathroom door looks great, and so does the outside repair work he did on my siding and door. I am very impressed! Would definitely use him again.
