Nick created a wonderful transition from the new granite countertop to the backsplash with a beautiful tile trim (no one else could figure out what to do and suggested replacing the backsplash instead). He fixed a number of odds n' ends in the kitchen and laundry room (screen doors, trim work, etc.) - Nick's team was always polite, professional and easy to have around the house. This is particularly important as I work from home and can't tolerate a lot of distractions. They made all aspects of the job (and clean-up) easy. Use them, you will be pleased.
Description of Work: Updated kitchen with granite countertops, removed wallpaper and painted, new trim work on steps in kitchen/foyer.

The job was completed despite huge weather challenges and the crew was always pleasant and professional. I highly recommend Nick and his team.

+ 0 moreWow! I wish I had the deck built a year earlier when I first contacted Nick so we could have enjoyed it a little longer. What really impressed me about Nick was the pricing; he was not only really reasonable, but also highly responsive. I also liked that he was able to incorporate my ideas and changes without any fuss. He first gave me an estimate when I wasn't in a position to do the deck. When he returned one year later, the only change in the price was due to changes I added. Unbelievable! The deck is/was gorgeous. It became a major selling point for the house. The workmanship was excellent and it was finished on time and on budget. So impressed that I have hired Nick for other projects and people who have seen my deck have hired him as well. A+

+ -1 moreDid not go well. Had to hire another contractor to finish job. Electrical work had to be redone, because they used wrong amp wire. They tried to put tile on a floor that was not solid enough to support it, I ended up using hardwood instead. The taping of the sheet rock was a mess, and the paint job was pathetic, my 16 year old daughter could have done a more professional job. Though they did a good job of ripping out old kitchen , that appears that is the extent of their abilities. Also, when it came time to negotiate price they said they no longer honored the 10% coupon listed on angies list, and were trying to remove with from site. . All I can say is good luck to anyone who hires them to do an skilled work.

+ -1 moreWell... February in not a good time of the year to start construction of a deck. Once the snow thawed and the rains came it all turned to a cold muddy mess. Nick and co. worked through it all. Although there were a few material snafu's (my fault) the job was fairly straightforward. Once the deck was completed Nick was available at a moments notice to settle the few small details that remained. He also was very professional when confronted with the few problems that popped up. Now we're well into the summer and the structure is still standing, hasn't swelled or twisted out of shape, hasn't cracked in half or had half of the screws unscrew...so far it's doing good. We are happy with everything and thank Nick and co. for their hard work.

Description of Work: Called for a quote for the installation of a standard size safety shower rail into an apartment size shower/bath tub combination. i was quoted a price of 250.00 and the address of the job was 10-12 miles from the business. use him at your own risk...i know it needs to be worth his while but come on 250.00...total rip !!! Definitely not fare pricing

We had to wait longer than anticipated,but the company was here as scheduled and completed the project as promised. Rosini construction was careful not to get asphalt on the grass, garage and sidewalk. Overall, they did a good job and I would recommend them to others.

+ -1 moreI chose to contact Nick because he had great ratings on Angie's list with great reviews. I don't know how he has a high rating. The initial meeting with Nick went well. When we got the quote, the estimate for installing a combo light and vent in the master bath seemed really high. We asked him for a better itemized estimate and the vent and duct was much more expensive than what i've seen price shopping. He said the cost of the duct to go through the attic is expensive bc he uses a higher quality that is above code. We didn't buy into it and we agreed that we would buy the supplies and he would do the install. The day of the repair he showed up with 2 other gentlemen. Nick and the electrician worked on installing the bathroom vent. He didn't realize the switch I purchased required a third wire bc the vent also had a night light. He apologized for not catching this before installing and left it without all the parts functioning. I asked him to have all the switches functioning and he charged me extra for the work. He said it would take him a couple hours to run another wire and he didn't have any of it on him. After he came back from purchasing the wire it took him 15 minutes to run the wire. That's when I felt scammed for the price. This should have all been included in the work he was supposed to do and I felt like he charged me for something that took little work at all. His work on the leak of the bay window is acceptable at best. I would not recommend him to anyone.

+ -1 moreNick has a bad problem with keeping appointments. He does do good work. During Sandy the cover over the A/C unit flew off. We tried to contact Nick and he did answer to set up an appointment to come out. The day came and he never showed up.

Spoke to him and said what we wanted. He said yes and he would give us a call when he would come to give us an estimate. Never called back. Tried calling again at a later time and hven gotten no answer, left my name and number on his answering machine. Again, no response. Very unprofessional. If you are not interested or to busy you should say so in the beginning.

+ 3 moreI found Nick on Angie's List and hired him to do a deck/patio project at my home. He impressed me from the start with his knowledge, professionalism and courtesy and quickly delivered a proposal that was reasonably priced and reflected exactly the scope of work I wanted done. He and a small crew worked quickly and efficiently to dismantle an old collapsing deck and build a new one with a different design and stairway. Throughout the job, Nick was very easy to communicate with, always responsive to my concerns and eager to take care of any problems that arose with a great resourceful "can do" attitude. The patio project (underneath the deck) involved digging up massive stones (including a concrete block that unexpectedly was 2-1/2 feet thick and needed to be removed with a jackhammer!), laying new stone, putting in a drainage system and installing an underdeck. Nick took care of all phases of the job extremely well, often finding good ways to solve problems that arose and to improve the overall design. He also handled a frustrating delivery problem of underdeck materials, giving me regular updates and working around the delay as much as possible. He was very responsible about cleaning up, planting new grass and getting everything done, coming back after the work was complete to take care of one last detail. When it was finished, the new deck and patio came out even better than I expected. I can honestly say that Nick did an excellent job on all fronts and was a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend him.

He was able to look at a wide range of projects -- talk about the solutions simply and clearly, and make good recommendations. He left the place spotless....and he's just easy to work with. I had a problem with another job later that week and called Nick. He came back and repaired the door the other contractor had left hanging. I highly recommend him.
Description of Work: Repaired and painted basement walls, fixed steps down to basement including sanding and replacing steps, built a sister joist for steps, fixed basement door frame, cut and installed and caulked baseboard upstairs. Came back the next week and fixed garage doors with framing and reinforcing.

+ 0 moreIt took several visits to finish the job due to the time required for the filler to dry, then sanded, and then painted. Nick was patient with the process, and very flexible. Special kudos for dealing with all of the puppy dogs!
Description of Work: I have are few large windows where the window sill/base had rotted. Nick and company removed the rotted sections and filled the space, sanded and painted. He caulked other windows as necessary. Overall, did a great job.

+ 1 moreThe job started as a "handyman's" work to complete the work left after we discharged the contractor that was hired to do a total house remodel.As this work started, it was evident that the prior contractor did not build according to plan or code. Nick patiently detailed the issues and advised us to bring back the engineer who designed the initial structural work. Their collaboration allowed us to see a final product that we thought we had paid for with the original work. Nick has a great eye for detail and goes above and beyond making sure we understood what was entailed with the rework. Our "little" finishing job took almost two months -- to retro fit structural beams, redo the wiring, get the permits approved and inspected and to do the "cosmetic" finishing we needed to begin with.
Description of Work: Nick Rossini was asked to complete work that another contractor had either left undone or had performed substandard work. The job ultimately entailed redoing structural supports for both the first and second floors, fixing poorly installed drywall and adjusting cabinets throughout the house. He fixed flooring, baseboards, door installations, room thresholds, electrical work, etc. Nick pointed out deficiencies that the prior contractor had left -- leaving our home with dangerous with substandard wiring as well as as structural defects that threatened our safety. Under very difficult conditions Nick Rossini was able to rebuild the floor supports to engineer's specifications (around previously installed cabinets, granite tops and a rebuilt bathroom) as well as bring the electrical up to code with proper wiring and switches -- much of which was hidden by drywall.

+ 0 moreHe ended up leaving here, and not finishing the job. I am sixty three years old, a friend and I had to get up on ladders and finish the job. I looked him up on Angie’s List, and he has got A’s from other people, but I don’t know what went wrong here. His prices are A plus, absolutely A plus, but his work is sloppy, and he comes in with extra stuff. I had paid him the full price he quoted, and yet I ended up with a job I had to finish myself.
Description of Work: I used Nick Rossini of Rossini Construction for some carpentry work. He put a deck up for me and built a retaining wall on the deck. The deck is OK. I had a garage that we had to put some new log siding on, so we took down the old rain gutters with the gutter guards on. I got a price from a person I know who does excellent gutter work, and he gave me a price to put the old gutters back up, plus run gutters along the roof line of the same size with gutter guards. I thought it was a little bit high, so I asked Nick, and he gave me a price. It was so much lower than this other guy, and he said that he would throw in the gutter guards for free. When I came back from work on Friday, I saw him working. He had the old gutters back up with the gutter guards on, but he had put the wrong size of tarp. I should have told him to tear them down and put the right size up there, but since there was a very well pitch up there, the fact that they were smaller wasn’t critical. Then he said that he hadn’t realized that the gutter guards were $30 a section, and that would raise the price by 50%. I said OK to that too. He was a very nice guy, but we had to be with him constantly or he would screw things up. He told me that it was Friday, and asked me to give him a check. I gave him a check, and he didn’t come back for months. I called him up, and he said he would be back that week or the next week after that, but he didn’t come back. So I called him again and told him that we would put the gutters up ourselves, and not to bother coming back.

Description of Work: Nick was able to come over and give me a licensed third party review of past termite damage so that FHA housing would allow my buyers mortgage to be completed. He was on time and able to do the job the afternoon that I called him, when others were unavailable. Great price and will use him for other jobs in the future.

+ 0 moreI decided to give Nick a call because of all the accolades he received on Angies list and even better, his company was based right in my town. I gave him a call to set up an appointment to come out to provide me with an estimate on the work to be done. He came out within 2 hours of us conversing. When he came to the house he was prepared, he took notes and the necessary measurements. He was polite and new what he was talking about. At the end of our appointment we shook hands and he said he will be in contact within a few days with the estimate. I though yes, I finally found someone that is reliable and not going to jerk me around. Ooooh was I wrong. Two weeks went by and I had not heard anything from him. I called him to inquire on why I have not heard from him. He said he have been really busy and that he would email me the quotes later that night. He went on to say that he is very busy and that he would not be able to start my job for at least three weeks if you want to give me the job. He just sound sooo unconcerned on the phone, as if I was bothering him. I guess that was the case since it is now a week later and I still have not heard anything. I will not call him again nor will I refer him to anyone I know. I guess my money was not worth his time or effort.
