CURRENT UPDATE Hello Thank you for clicking on my Angies List Profile. I am back and still in business. The Covid thing has been trying. As noted below many things have changed. This is an update to that. I am back to me, responding, looking at, estimating and doing the work. Quite overwhelming for one person. Reputable help is extremely hard to come by. Because of that I can only get to so many a day, week and month. That has become a problem for some members here. I’d like to thank you for your understanding and do wish I could get back to each and every one of you in the time frame desired. I sadly am not meeting that demand. I encourage you to text and email me outside the Angie’s List app. When I sit here and scroll through the hundreds, I get lost in the madness. I’m now getting “F” ratings based on work I’ve never done and it’s gonna make my Angie’s list presence disappear. I personally don’t see that as a fair shake being that I’m completely upfront about how things go and are going with updates like this one. Thank you all and be safe. I still put out top notch work and will continue to do so even though I may go away in Angie’s list. *COVID 19 update. Hi folks and I continue to thank all of you clicking on my company for the work you desire. We have always provided the best possible service we could, based upon the understanding, the goals and end product desired,by everyone of our customers. For ten years now ( Goodmudders officially started in 2010). This turned out to be the approach so so many of you wanted in a company you hire. I kind of expected that, to be honest. In fact,it was the image we chased. What I didn’t expect that is that so many of you had a hard time finding some who could do what I couldn’t do at the time. So many of you have waited, delayed and made your schedule around us!!! That’s amazing and truly something I would have never of seen coming. What that did though was put an extremely high demand upon us. The requests became never ending. I want to apologize for not getting back to those that reached out, did their best to contact us in the exact ways as anyone would. I had an absolute goal in the beginning of all this to never leave anyone hanging. I sadly could not keep up. Things went well for us. We adapted and absorbed all the bumps and bruises that came with growing. We used that to refine our ways. That’s until this recent ”new normal” we now ALL live with. Being in a small business and I personally handle the business side and communication side of this, when school was canceled for me and my family that squarely landed upon my shoulders. My wife is a nurse and her schedule could not change,so mine had to. There is so very much that change effects. My time is no longer doing estimates and defining scope of work it became digging in deep to learning elementary school all over again ( getting up to speed really) on how to home school my kids. This wiped me out to be completely honest. It will get better, I know but that became an overreaching reason for applying my time to other than Goodmudders. I’m not an essential business. Even if I was an essential business what I can do is limited. The amount of full days, and all over the map “times that i can” is a the new reality I find myself in. Another compounding factor is, its not just me. The ones I call on to help in this whole Goodmudders thing are pivoting their lives as well. It’s come down to me, what I can do and when I can do it. If you’re still with me after all the above, I hope you appreciate what I’m about to say. Building this Goodmudders thing is something I always and still do believe in. I was just a kid with ambition when this thing started. It came from nothing and was made into something. I have no plans of letting go and going out of business. I’m tried though, like never before. It’s almost gonna be a restart, in a different time, when this is over and a new way of doing things is a new reality. I’m still,as many of you are, trying to digest what and how that is. So for now, it’s just me. Answering email, phone calls, texts, scoping the job, estimating the job and doing the work all while being a non qualified substitute teacher able to work a couple days and a few hours here and there. That’s tough for me and will not be any better for you and your project, I’m sure . I will continue to provide the best possible product I can relative to your needs, wants and desires. YOU ALL have been the ones that allowed me the opportunity to prove that just understanding what you want by listening, saying what I mean and meaning what I say. Doing as expected success becomes a side effect. I’ve believed in that for 25 some years now and it has been proven by YOU that is what it takes. I’ve never set out to exceed expectations, only to meet them as expected. The goal is 3 stars, the aim is 5. I hope you read that and understand that those are sincere thoughts and words. I’ve been trying hard to get it all into words to explain a side of something maybe not seen. Be safe all and thank you. Our website is currently down. I apologize for that and am working to get something up and running. A SPECIAL NOTE Goodmudders is growing now at a pace at which keeping up is becoming an issue. We have landed quite a few larger projects which has depleted our resources for taking on more work. This is a time n our business where we MUST make the right decisions. Rather than trying to take on everything that comes our way and just hiring anyone to do the job we have to either A. pass on the work (i really don't like to), B. Schedule 3-4 months in advance and put people on a waiting list. I know most of you reading this need the work completed sooner rather than later, but the only way for us to continue providing a professional, high quality service is to make these changes. We are in the process of hiring more people, but finding a "right fit" is extremely difficult. With that said we can do expedited services which moves people further up the list, but adds significantly to the cost of the project. We try to keep that to emergency and schedule sensitive type work. We are currently swamped with estimate requests and large workload. We certainly want to provide our service to you, but we currently have quite a back log. There are about 30-40 phone calls a week and another 20 emails a week to be answered. I get a full voicemail box every 10 days and have a giant list of people to call back. We are a small company trying to provide excellent service to every customer. Our reluctance to just hire anyone makes our work load large, our workforce small, but our quality consistent. I can answer emails anytime of day, so please email me your information so I can map something out to schedule an estimate. Provide a name, address, contact information, best time of day to stop, your time line to get work completed and brief description of the work. If I don't get back to you it's not because I don't care about what you need done and your not important, you are, but there is only so much time in a day, week and month. If you need work done tomorrow or next week, we probably cannot help at this time. As you are planning your project please call/email. I am doing my best with this as we grow, so please try to be understanding. I just got an F for not getting back to someone, this was not necessary, we are just ultra busy. If I don't get back to you it means just that. Goodmudders at this time consists of me(Donald Stefanovich), my business partner(Mark Louder) and our employee. We sometimes use LEGAL,QUALIFIED sub contractors for certain jobs. Our goal when the job is completed, is for you to never wander what you spent your money on. You work hard for your money and so do we.The work will be done the best way we know how.We don't claim to be: the best ever, perfect or top notch, that is up to customers to decide. We are professionals and know this trade very well. We do our best to execute every job as described in the estimate, without the need of change orders and price increases. We(Mark and I) started taping and finishing drywall in 1995. We started sub contracting in 1997(doing new construction) and had to move away from that in 2008 because of the market conditions. Goodmudders became our official name at this point. We have many years of experience doing taping and finishing work(that is where our skill is) and are able to do a couple stages before drywall and a couple stages after drywall allowing a homeowner to complete some of the work themselves(or use people they know) to save some money on home improvements. We offer 10% off labor for Angie's List customers on jobs $1,000.00 and over. There is a special discount for work scheduled in advance for our slow time, November through February of 20% off the TOTAL estimate (including materials)on jobs $1500.00 and above. Please email me(Donny) at donald@goodmudders.com or Mark at mark@goodmudders.com. We are in a busy time right now and will get in touch with you ASAP.

Goodmudders was very responsive to both my request for a quote and they were also able to work within our schedule. The project went very well.
Description of Work: Goodmudders installed and finished the drywall in our basement. They were fabulous to work with, and I highly recommend them. My husband and I got several quotes, and went with Goodmudders and are glad that we did. Our project was not easy because they had to bring the sheets of drywall down the steps to the basement - we do not have a separate entrance. Thank you, Goodmudders!

We had a high school graduation and houseguests, so we waited until this was over to have the work done. Donny and his crew showed up and did an unbelievable job of prepping - moved furniture out, put protective material on all of the floors, covered everything in plastic including doorways with zippered passages. The actual drywalling took two days and these guys really worked. The final coat and sanding was done a day earlier than we had anticipated. Great quality - you can't see a joint. Saw one popped screw in an inconspicuous location - that was it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these guys again!
Description of Work: We had five rooms that a previous owner had installed ceiling tile in. We wanted to have these rooms drywalled so that we could install crown moulding and coffered ceilings.

There is nothing these guys can't do. At the risk of making it sound too good to be true, I would have this company perform any and all work needed around the home. They were professional, courteous and sociable to the Nth degree. Donny, Mark, John, Rich and Stan treated me (as a single mom) and my daughter with the utmost respect. They made me feel safe and I felt comfortable allowing them in all areas of my home. My retractable awning had fallen down and they took the time to check the motor and remove all the old wiring (and non-functioning parts), and even cleaned it for me once it was up! Their attention to detail and clean up amazed me. If I have my way and build another home, they will be playing a huge part in it. You will never regret having them as contractors. I actually hated to see them leave and will welcome them back anytime!

Mark and his worker showed up early in the morning. They began working right away to cover all of the kitchen cabinets and made sure the door openings to the rest of the house were covered too. They worked tirelessly for over 10 hours and came back early the next morning. They used a vacuum sander so cut down on the dust. Before they left they cleaned the entire area very well. They were very professional to work with and I feel the price was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend them to my family, friends and Angie list members.

I called for an estimate and Donny was able to stop by the next day. Within 24 hours he had e-mailed me a very detailed estimate. It spelled out just what work they would do and what they needed from us as far as preparation. We were in no hurry and they were able to start within a few weeks. They did all the work in 1 day. They worked from approximately 10am to 8pm. Three men did the work. They repaired our walls with a thin coat of drywall mud. They look as good as new. They also put a texture on the ceilings. We asked them to match the texture we already had in our family room. They were spot on! They also did a few drywall repairs (holes and rough spots). They did a great job. They were polite and professional. We will certainly use them again the next time we take wallpaper down.
Description of Work: Our walls were damaged from removing wallpaper. There was also a lot of damage that the wallpaper was hiding. Goodmudders put a skim coat on the walls and also put a texture on our ceiling. The ceiling had previously been smooth. They worked on our entryway, up the stairs and in the upstairs hallway.

These are some of the best contractors I have ever worked with. Don was very quick to come out to my house to see the project after my initial contact with them. He was very good at answering all my questions. Don offered several suggestions to improve the overall finished appearance of the project. After Don's initial visit, I received a quote 2 days later. Don, Mark and John were all very polite and pleasant to talk to. They worked for 5 days straight, often working 9-10 hour days to get the project done in time. They cleaned up at the end of every day, enabling me to still park our vehicles in the garage over night, which was appreciated. The quality of work is excellent. It was a pleasure to work with them.

They are by far the best contractors I have ever worked with. Mark was very pleasant and professional, helped me with ideas and options on what I could do with my basement. Mark, Don and John worked on the job for 6 days. There are days they worked until 8 or 9PM into the night because they want to finish the job on time. The final product was amazing, they definitely went above and beyond. Their price was very competitive as well. 5 star.

Donald came out to our place of business and provided a quote within a day of viewing the space. He went above and beyond what he was contracted to do and really made the space look uniform even though he was repairing only part of the space. He made sure to complete the job ahead of schedule upon our request and we were super happy with the end result.

I was really happy with Goodmudders. We chose to use them for doing the drywall in our basement because of a very good recommendation from our neighbors, who had several rooms of drywall done during their home remodel. We had a similarly great experience. I was primarily in contact with Mark, who answered my calls and emails promptly and gave me the initial quote. I was initially impressed by how he made recommendations about what to do and explained why it was a good idea. As a woman, I've had many contractors treat me like I don't know anything and am not given explanations why this or that is better (I'm an engineer, so I want to know!). This was not the case with Mark, he even took the time to draw pictures to explain what he planned to do. I got the quote a few days later. We had to finish up a few other parts of the project before we could do the drywall, so it was a few weeks before we actually had the work done. They were able to come the very day I requested, and work straight through until the job was complete. They often stayed late into the evening to finish up. In the end, the job took 5-6 days, just as they estimated. They even patched a hole in the plaster that was not in the original estimate and did not charge extra for it. The drywall looks great - it looks like a real room now! Before they left, Mark and Donny answered my questions about priming and painting the drywall, gave recommendations about what primers/paints to use and even a basic lesson on how to get the best results.

Donny and Mark were great guys! Very professional and prompt! Donny came out on the weekend for a quote, just to accomodate my schedule. He provided a ROM estimate on the spot after reviewing my work, then he promptly emailed me a formal estimate later that night. The estimate was very thorough and well thought out; it included details on all work to be performed and cost of materials in addition to their planned start date, which they were able to start that following Monday! The guys showed up Monday morning on time as agreed and set right to work. They placed drop cloths around the house where they worked to protect floor and were careful not to damage any existing work. I could not take time off so my father supervised; whenever there was a question of how handle a given area, Donny or Mark would ask my father who would relate the question to me before performing the task. As the work was quoted as a three-day job, the guys returned each of Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively on time and got the job done! There were never delays, excuses, or any other reason to doubt their professionalism. As far as the work quality itself, I have few and far between concerns. The seams appear to be very well hidden (I haven't finished painting all of the surfaces, yet), and corner joints/beads were well formed. I'll note mine is a ~90 year old house in Dormont with non-plumb, non-square walls, and my hang job was probably less than stellar. I had a few spots here and there that I've sanded or touched up with mud, but in general I have no complaints and have already recommended them to a co-worker considering some basement/garage work. In my brief experience with contractor work, thus far, Donny and Mark are some of the best!
Description of Work: I hung drywall myself, then Goodmudders mudded/tapped/sanded. Areas included; 1) one bedroom, 2) the non-tiled portions of the bathroom, 3) five closet spaces, and 4) the basement stairwell.

Donny was very professional and communicated with me anything he had questions on. They started when they said they would and finished the job on time even with additional work added to the original job quote. It took about two weeks for them to do the work with a great price. I was surprised how nice the refinishing work came out and all the walls were ready for paint. They left the property cleaner than it was when they started and removed all debris/trash that they created. I will hire them again to do work if the future when it comes up.
Description of Work: Three large rooms on first floor of house. two of the rooms were gutted (one being the kitchen) and the other room needed to be resurfaced after patching several areas of crumbling plaster. Two of the three rooms need special attention around the old fireplaces. Also, resurfacing the third floor bedroom which included scrapping wallpaper. In addition to the original quote i added the following to the job: large area in the stairway going to the third floor (plaster on brick resurfacing) and additional finishing work in the third floor hallway area. they also did all the mudding/finish work for the 1st floor hallway, ceiling included, and vestibule both were previously drywalled but not mudded. .

This whole project went very well. Mark was very responsive to phone calls and questions. Even though our project was delayed by a week because of another project they were finishing up, Mark was extremely apologetic and made sure that we were kept in the loop. Ultimately, Mark and his crew worked very hard over a three-day period. They were meticulous in their work, cleaned up extensively after themselves, and even made sure that our little son was accounted for in the planning (how to best keep him out of the way; he ended up watching them for long periods without causing any trouble). They had not done a project quite like ours in the past and Mark was excited for the challenge. We were very impressed with their work, professionalism, and price. I would highly recommend Goodmudders to anyone who might need drywall work--and already have on several occasions.
Description of Work: We were renovating the layout of the dining room ceiling by installing two chandeliers rather than the previous one. We had an electrician remove the old light and install two hookups for the new lights. Goodmudders was asked to patch the hole from the original light, smooth out the textured drywall and install moulding around that area over the dining room table location, and paint the newly-smoothed area of drywall.

These guys are great! Don provided a fair estimate and flexed to accomodate our schedule. Their work was fantastic! I just finished painting and it looks great (better than the original work!). Don went above and beyond what was required and is just a helpful, nice guy. (Ex: He even hauled away some of the old drywall our trash man wouldn't take and help me fish a cable while he was waiting for his crew to arrive.) I recommend Goodmudders strongly, and will be using them again on our next project.

Goodmudders were terrific! Mark & Donnie were both punctual, professional, and thorough. The final bill came in just under the quoted price. The quality of the work is amazing. We have an 80-year old house and many of the framed walls were not exactly plumb. Mark was able to square corners, smooth rough spots and everything looks perfect. I had Goodmudders out twice (once for the second floor and once for the kitchen/dining room). On both occasions they were on-time and had the work done very quickly. I would highly recommend Goodmudders for any plastering/drywall needs.I plan on bringing the guys back next year to do the living room and I have every confidence that it will look as amazing as the rest of their work.

Goodmudders were punctual in providing an estimate, and were always very easy to communicate with via email. We had received 4 quotes for this job; Goodmudders were the second lowest quote, but we were more confident in their skills over the lowest bid. And my husband is very particular, so we wanted to make sure we got high quality workmanship. Goodmudders finished their job after 3 trips, as expected. They did great work - we waited until we painted to put in this review, just to make sure. Absolutely no problem areas or complaints. These guys did an amazing job cleaning up after themselves - I'm sure it was cleaner when they finished than when they started. And they did a great job of sealing off their work areas during sanding to make sure my house didn't get coated in dust. These guys are friendly, professional, and didn't disrupt our house in anyway (I am a stay at home mom with 3 little kids). They're family guys, just like us. We are very happy with the work Goodmudders did and believe it was well worth the money spent.

Donny contacted me to come out and take some measurements. He provided me an estimate within 2 or 3 days. I decided to go with Goodmudders for my project and within 2 weeks his team was ready to install. It took 2 days to complete the job. They arrived when they said they would each day and left my basement cleaner than they found it. They were very professional in their work and overall very good to deal with. The final price was exactly what I was quoted. I could not be happier with the outcome of the project and would highly recommend to anyone. If I ever need this type of work done again I will definitely use Goodmudders.
Description of Work: I replaced the drop ceiling in my basement with drywall. I did the demo work and Goodmudders installed the drywall, installed access panels for 2 junction boxes, set the light cans, and prepped so that I could prime and paint the ceiling.

Member's were very nice homeowners to work for. They knew what they wanted, so there was no interpretation on my part. Member was a trusting homeowner that wanted the job done correctly and I believe we provided that to him.

The person I met was Don. He was very pleasant and professional. They responded quickly to my initial inquiry, came to look at the job, provided a quote and followed up on it. It was a 2-day job and they left the house in good order each day. We couldn't be more satisfied with their work - we recommend them highly.
Description of Work: We had two closets with bifold doors that had been so poorly done in an original renovation that one header sloped 1-1/8". The openings were so far off that the doors couldn't be hung properly - there were big gaps and the doors didn't stay in the tracks, they hung off. Goodmudders cut away the bad openings and redid them so that they're square, redid the drywall and blended the repairs into the existing wall, and rehung the doors.

Member was super nice. The job here was something that is seen in older building renovations, where measurements are taken from an un-level floor for closet openings. The height is correct, just the header is way out of level and for bi-fold doors, the header must be level or the doors will not function properly. We had to take apart and rebuild the openings so the header was level which was an inch or so out. The end result:doors that open nicely and more importantly stay closed.

Goodmudders was great. Mark was right on time for everything. He and his crew did a marvelous job. You can not see one screw in the wall. I was afraid to paint the walls, they are so perfect. They were truly worth every dime spent to have this part of the project done. Truly professionals. Would recommend them to anyone.

Member was very nice, though I never met here. She worked/lived out of state and we dealt with her family. The job was a drywall tape/finish/sand job that was hung by them. She was looking for a company that could handle the job without any problems and I think we gave that to her.

I am currently in the process of remodeling my house and am doing a few rooms each year. While I can do many things myself, I realized drywalling was not one of them. I used Angies List to get several estimates. I decided to go with GoodMudders, due to a reasonable price, vast experience with drywalling, and a 'can do' upbeat atttitude. The other contractors I interviewed seemed to view drywalling as a necessary evil and generally listed it at the bottom of the services they offered. I wanted drywall pros and GoodMudders made sense. They came when they said they would and put in a full 10 hours a day of work. They worked with a quiet efficiency that spoke of many years of drywalling experience. They were very meticulous in the details of drywalling as well as the installing of all the doors in the bedrooms. Needless to say,I am very pleased with their work. During the job and at the end of the job, they cleaned up the rooms and outside hallways which was very helpful. Dust and debris was never a problem. Donny and Mark of GoodMudders are honest, hardworking, 'salt of the earth" guys for whom I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to my friends.
Description of Work: Donny and Mark worked on two bedrooms in my house. They drywalled both bedrooms, put in a knockoff pattern on the ceilings, installed 5 bifold closed doors and and installed 2 entrance doors.

Member was one of the first that gave us a shot from Angie's List. He was a super interesting guy to work for. We had some drywall to hang/tape/finish/texture and sand. He had started the drywall hanging part and decided it wasn't for him. We also did some bi-fold door installs and room door install. He was great to work for and look forward to working with him again in the future. We were able to give Eric what he wanted:drywall done,no issues.
