CURRENT UPDATE Hello Thank you for clicking on my Angies List Profile. I am back and still in business. The Covid thing has been trying. As noted below many things have changed. This is an update to that. I am back to me, responding, looking at, estimating and doing the work. Quite overwhelming for one person. Reputable help is extremely hard to come by. Because of that I can only get to so many a day, week and month. That has become a problem for some members here. I’d like to thank you for your understanding and do wish I could get back to each and every one of you in the time frame desired. I sadly am not meeting that demand. I encourage you to text and email me outside the Angie’s List app. When I sit here and scroll through the hundreds, I get lost in the madness. I’m now getting “F” ratings based on work I’ve never done and it’s gonna make my Angie’s list presence disappear. I personally don’t see that as a fair shake being that I’m completely upfront about how things go and are going with updates like this one. Thank you all and be safe. I still put out top notch work and will continue to do so even though I may go away in Angie’s list. *COVID 19 update. Hi folks and I continue to thank all of you clicking on my company for the work you desire. We have always provided the best possible service we could, based upon the understanding, the goals and end product desired,by everyone of our customers. For ten years now ( Goodmudders officially started in 2010). This turned out to be the approach so so many of you wanted in a company you hire. I kind of expected that, to be honest. In fact,it was the image we chased. What I didn’t expect that is that so many of you had a hard time finding some who could do what I couldn’t do at the time. So many of you have waited, delayed and made your schedule around us!!! That’s amazing and truly something I would have never of seen coming. What that did though was put an extremely high demand upon us. The requests became never ending. I want to apologize for not getting back to those that reached out, did their best to contact us in the exact ways as anyone would. I had an absolute goal in the beginning of all this to never leave anyone hanging. I sadly could not keep up. Things went well for us. We adapted and absorbed all the bumps and bruises that came with growing. We used that to refine our ways. That’s until this recent ”new normal” we now ALL live with. Being in a small business and I personally handle the business side and communication side of this, when school was canceled for me and my family that squarely landed upon my shoulders. My wife is a nurse and her schedule could not change,so mine had to. There is so very much that change effects. My time is no longer doing estimates and defining scope of work it became digging in deep to learning elementary school all over again ( getting up to speed really) on how to home school my kids. This wiped me out to be completely honest. It will get better, I know but that became an overreaching reason for applying my time to other than Goodmudders. I’m not an essential business. Even if I was an essential business what I can do is limited. The amount of full days, and all over the map “times that i can” is a the new reality I find myself in. Another compounding factor is, its not just me. The ones I call on to help in this whole Goodmudders thing are pivoting their lives as well. It’s come down to me, what I can do and when I can do it. If you’re still with me after all the above, I hope you appreciate what I’m about to say. Building this Goodmudders thing is something I always and still do believe in. I was just a kid with ambition when this thing started. It came from nothing and was made into something. I have no plans of letting go and going out of business. I’m tried though, like never before. It’s almost gonna be a restart, in a different time, when this is over and a new way of doing things is a new reality. I’m still,as many of you are, trying to digest what and how that is. So for now, it’s just me. Answering email, phone calls, texts, scoping the job, estimating the job and doing the work all while being a non qualified substitute teacher able to work a couple days and a few hours here and there. That’s tough for me and will not be any better for you and your project, I’m sure . I will continue to provide the best possible product I can relative to your needs, wants and desires. YOU ALL have been the ones that allowed me the opportunity to prove that just understanding what you want by listening, saying what I mean and meaning what I say. Doing as expected success becomes a side effect. I’ve believed in that for 25 some years now and it has been proven by YOU that is what it takes. I’ve never set out to exceed expectations, only to meet them as expected. The goal is 3 stars, the aim is 5. I hope you read that and understand that those are sincere thoughts and words. I’ve been trying hard to get it all into words to explain a side of something maybe not seen. Be safe all and thank you. Our website is currently down. I apologize for that and am working to get something up and running. A SPECIAL NOTE Goodmudders is growing now at a pace at which keeping up is becoming an issue. We have landed quite a few larger projects which has depleted our resources for taking on more work. This is a time n our business where we MUST make the right decisions. Rather than trying to take on everything that comes our way and just hiring anyone to do the job we have to either A. pass on the work (i really don't like to), B. Schedule 3-4 months in advance and put people on a waiting list. I know most of you reading this need the work completed sooner rather than later, but the only way for us to continue providing a professional, high quality service is to make these changes. We are in the process of hiring more people, but finding a "right fit" is extremely difficult. With that said we can do expedited services which moves people further up the list, but adds significantly to the cost of the project. We try to keep that to emergency and schedule sensitive type work. We are currently swamped with estimate requests and large workload. We certainly want to provide our service to you, but we currently have quite a back log. There are about 30-40 phone calls a week and another 20 emails a week to be answered. I get a full voicemail box every 10 days and have a giant list of people to call back. We are a small company trying to provide excellent service to every customer. Our reluctance to just hire anyone makes our work load large, our workforce small, but our quality consistent. I can answer emails anytime of day, so please email me your information so I can map something out to schedule an estimate. Provide a name, address, contact information, best time of day to stop, your time line to get work completed and brief description of the work. If I don't get back to you it's not because I don't care about what you need done and your not important, you are, but there is only so much time in a day, week and month. If you need work done tomorrow or next week, we probably cannot help at this time. As you are planning your project please call/email. I am doing my best with this as we grow, so please try to be understanding. I just got an F for not getting back to someone, this was not necessary, we are just ultra busy. If I don't get back to you it means just that. Goodmudders at this time consists of me(Donald Stefanovich), my business partner(Mark Louder) and our employee. We sometimes use LEGAL,QUALIFIED sub contractors for certain jobs. Our goal when the job is completed, is for you to never wander what you spent your money on. You work hard for your money and so do we.The work will be done the best way we know how.We don't claim to be: the best ever, perfect or top notch, that is up to customers to decide. We are professionals and know this trade very well. We do our best to execute every job as described in the estimate, without the need of change orders and price increases. We(Mark and I) started taping and finishing drywall in 1995. We started sub contracting in 1997(doing new construction) and had to move away from that in 2008 because of the market conditions. Goodmudders became our official name at this point. We have many years of experience doing taping and finishing work(that is where our skill is) and are able to do a couple stages before drywall and a couple stages after drywall allowing a homeowner to complete some of the work themselves(or use people they know) to save some money on home improvements. We offer 10% off labor for Angie's List customers on jobs $1,000.00 and over. There is a special discount for work scheduled in advance for our slow time, November through February of 20% off the TOTAL estimate (including materials)on jobs $1500.00 and above. Please email me(Donny) at donald@goodmudders.com or Mark at mark@goodmudders.com. We are in a busy time right now and will get in touch with you ASAP.

Goodmudders' work was excellent -- Donny replied to my emails and texts very quickly. Work was scheduled and completed in only a few days from start to finish. We also needed a new curtain rod installed over a large window area and asked for additional pricing for that. Workers removed a large, complex/old system that was in place and hung the new one for no extra charge. The drywall/baseboard both look fantastic. We could not have had a better experience.

After two weeks being in our new house, I had the unfortunate accident of falling through our attic floor, creating an 8"-wide hole in our upstairs ceiling. I was worried that even after it was fixed, it would still be noticeably different than the rest of the ceiling. The team from GoodMudders came in and did an amazing job. I cannot even see there was a hole in the ceiling previously. I highly recommend these guys for any drywall work you need done...they are the best in the business....

Good Mudders did great work for us. We were on a tight timeline and they went out of their way to fit our work in and get it completed on time and within our budget. Communication was clear and consistent about what was going to get done and when which made planning go smoothly. The quality of their craftsmanship is evident in the finished product. It's clear that this crew takes great pride in the work that they do. I would suggest Good Mudders to anyone in the area looking for great drywall work with a crew that goes out of their way to get the job done right.

Having hired goodmudders to initially install all the drywall in our finished basement many years ago, I did not hesitate to have them come back and reinstall after performing major renovations which necessitated the removal of almost half the walls. I worked in the trades for many years and know that a good dry waller is worth their weight in gold. They do not disappoint! They are so good that even other contractors who were working in the area commented on how great the job turned out. There was a lot of patchwork and seams in these repairs and when they were done it looked absolutely seamless. Amazing. This is my first review on Angie’s list after being a member for many years. These guys are at the top of their game. I would not hesitate to hire them again. In fact, I am more likely to take on major repairs knowing that I have this group of extremely professional craftsmen behind me!

I'm very particular, and I very rarely hire anyone to do work for me. I remodeled my basement with a full laundry/utility room, gameroom and bathrooms at about 900 square ft. I've done all the work to the point of finding someone to finish the drywall. I thought about attempting it, but I'm glad I didn't. They did a super job finishing the walls and ceilings, they corrected any of my drywall errors. I had bulkheads from ductwork throughout and the corners look perfect. They are truly skilled and I would hire them back in a second. Donny and Mark are good guys. They were 100 % professional around my wife and kids. They also left the job cleaner then when they started. I highly recommend Goodmudders!

My apologies for not being able to get back to you. These current times of covid19 have depleted my working crew. It’s put the extra load onto me. The demand for services, by qualified businesses like ours, is at an extra high demand. I get many requests everyday. Angie’s list, google searches, word of mouth, and just requests from all over. I can’t do every job and can’t return every call. There are only so many hours in a day and days in a week for me to now: Follow up on leads Complete estimates Schedule work Do the work This is now all on my shoulders, alone. With the above I also have a family. They beg for my attention and only want a fraction of what I put into Goodmudders. I can’t deny them that. For me to give more than I currently am, I would do just that. For me to not get back in touch with you means nothing more than I’ve been busy. In these current times, overwhelmed. Now you know a little more to my side. With that I ask you to kindly reconsider the grade in which was given to me, without my input.

I from time to time miss out on leads. It was not that I didn’t want to give your job considering or do it, I simply can’t do it all, for everyone, all the time. I get many leads on here and often times lose track. My apologies for not being more proactive.

It was never about job size or anything personal. This company is in very high demand. I can’t possibly do everything for everyone all the time with our current structure. If I could, the quality of the jobs we do will go down. I cannot risk that.

We were very happy with the service that we received. From our initial conversation with Donnie through the work and clean up with Larry and Stan, we were pleased. Our biggest concern was that they be able to match the existing texture and they did a great job. They even fixed a section done by someone else who insisted they could match the texture. We lucked out and Goodmudders were able to finish the job within 48 hours of our initial contact.

This is my second time working with Goodmudders, and the experience was again excellent. Donny, the owner, was responsive to my inquiry to help me finish a small basement mudroom project I had started but been unable to complete. He fit me into his schedule, and quickly finished the job. The drywall is finished perfectly and now ready for priming. The area was completely cleaned. He was also very nice towards our 4 year old son who hung out with him the basement as he worked because he was so interested in what Donny was doing! I highly recommend Goodmudders and would use them again.

Donny at Goodmudders is very professional & skilled at his craft. He was flexible in doing an estimate at my home and provided some suggestions for the work, but didn't pressure into any extra work. His team was punctual in arriving & very clean in their work. Our den had a texture, which instead of trying to match, he let us know that the best approach was to re-skim the ceiling and texture it right. While the cost was a bit higher, the end result of the repair came out very nice I feel that it was the right decision. &While the job ran over 1 day due to the weather, Donny was quick to inform of the change. He kept our home clean & tidy while doing his work, moving furniture & properly wrapping to avoid getting the area messy. Donny's team also brought a couple deliveries into my house when they arrived while they were working, which was much appreciated, especially since the weather was poor that week. Coming home to dry packages was just a nice touch.

The men who did the work are very professional. They arrive on time and stay late. We had several rooms with cracks in the textured ceiling. They removed and repaired the damaged areas and then retextured them and painted. They did a great job! When we were looking for someone to fix our ceilings, we called several companies who declined at the first mention of a textured finish. Goodmudders was the only company to give us a positive response, but they cautioned us that their schedule was quite full. I did not mind waiting and asked them to put us on their list. It took a while for them to get to us, but it was well worth the wait. They really go the extra mile to make sure the job is done right. If anyone has experience with drywall repair, they know it can be a very messy job. Not with these men! They totally protect floors, walls, drapes, etc. with coverings. They clean every night before they leave. When the job was finished, my house was clean and free of dust from sanding. It looked (except for the greatly improved ceilings) like they had never been here. Their price was a bit higher than I had anticipated, but believe me, it was worth every penny. I highly recommend them and would use them again in a heartbeat. Good work!

My husband served as the architect and G.C. of our remodeled home on the south-side slopes in Pittsburgh. I have to admit that Goodmudders was no where close to the lowest bid but their work is worth every penny. As my husband says "it astounds me that people will build a half million dollar home and finish it with the cheapest crew that will bid the drywall work". Our home is done in the modern, open style so the walls are everything. My husbands crew hung the drywall and found numerous errors and mistakes done by the rough out framers. Goodmudders finished the whole house to level 5 smooth finish. No where in the house are the rough out framing errors evident to the naked eye. We even used up lighting and reflected light on the ceilings and walls, everything is perfect! They showed up every day on-time and even worked weekends. Donnie and Mark were very professional, straight forward, did an amazing job and cleaned up afterwards. My husband say's he will never let another company touch the finished walls of any other of his projects. If you live in Pittsburgh and surrounding area, want a top tier finish on your drywall / plaster job you need these guys. Keep in mind the extra few dollars you may pay for Goodmudders will be there for your satisfaction for the life-time of your home.

Donny and his business partner Mark care about their final product and their reputation. We gave them a pretty good framework to work on (is any framing really perfect?) and they put in the time and effort to make it perfect. Great attention to detail, no seems showing, straightened out minor bends in long runs. We gave them many 45* angle challenges, smooth untextured ceilings, and some odd window recesses and they took their time and got them right. They are masters of their craft. Courteous, friendly, and a pleasure to work with. They clean up daily and left the workspace they way they found it. They are very upfront with what to expect (it's drywall, expect dust) and completed our job a day ahead of schedule. They are very busy (good contractors stay busy), but be patient... it's worth the wait. Also, they can recommend and excellent electrician if you need any electrical work done before buttoning up the walls.

GoodMudders were fantastic. We have used a number of contractors for our fixer-upper home and rarely pass along recommendations to friends - GoodMudders was an exception. Excellent communication with Donny the owner, punctual, great work (smooth walls, good corners, really precise cuts around the recessed lights (Donny is a whiz with the cuts - watch him!) GoodMudders was also just a great group of guys. They worked fast and got done ahead of time, but were always laughing and joking and having a good time together. Small thing, but they all wore matching shirts, so they looked put together. Donny is super nice too. I recommended them to my neighbors here in Shadyside for a small patch job from a water leak and they loved GoodMudders too.

One day I was in my attic, which had a few plywood planks laid down there by the previous owner to walk around on. There was a shadow behind a big box we had put up there for storage, making me think there was a plywood plank there. There wasn't. I called Goodmudder's primarily to fix the hole in my ceiling, but also to lay down plywood throughout my attic, so that we would 1.) have a lot more storage space, and 2.) never have a hole in the ceiling again. While they were here, I decided to get them to fix a small hole in my garage wall 2'x2' big. It took a little while to get Donald from Goodmudder's to respond, but out of the numerous companies I called to help, he was one of only two that actually bothered to call back. His quote was slightly higher, but that was because he actually came to my house to look at the job requirements, and I felt by his reputation that it would be well worth it. We set a specific date and time for them to do the work, and they showed up very promptly. They built a scaffold to reach the 20' ceiling, and fixed it promptly. They also did a great job matching the texture of the old ceiling to the new repair. In the meantime, Donald and his team worked very hard for 1.5 full days in my cold attic laying down plywood and nailing it in place, around all the vents and electrical cables that were laying there. That part took much more time and energy than I expected, but they did a fantastic job in the end. The day they arrived, I also asked out of the blue if they could help take care of a small nagging problem with my entertainment center -- that part turned out to be more complicated than I originally thought, but they handled it with ease, making sure to maintain a complex custom paint job in the process. The only problem was of my creation -- I tried paying with online bill pay, but instead of taking 2 days or so it apparently took my bank a full week. I'll always pay service providers by check from here on in. They cleaned up after themselves more thoroughly than I would have cleaned my own house, and were courteous and professional the entire time. These guys are great, and I will definitely call upon them in the future.
