CURRENT UPDATE
Hello
Thank you for clicking on my Angies List Profile. I am back and still in business. The Covid thing has been trying. As noted below many things have changed. This is an update to that. I am back to me, responding, looking at, estimating and doing the work. Quite overwhelming for one person. Reputable help is extremely hard to come by. Because of that I can only get to so many a day, week and month. That has become a problem for some members here. I’d like to thank you for your understanding and do wish I could get back to each and every one of you in the time frame desired. I sadly am not meeting that demand. I encourage you to text and email me outside the Angie’s List app. When I sit here and scroll through the hundreds, I get lost in the madness. I’m now getting “F” ratings based on work I’ve never done and it’s gonna make my Angie’s list presence disappear. I personally don’t see that as a fair shake being that I’m completely upfront about how things go and are going with updates like this one. Thank you all and be safe. I still put out top notch work and will continue to do so even though I may go away in Angie’s list.
*COVID 19 update.
Hi folks and I continue to thank all of you clicking on my company for the work you desire. We have always provided the best possible service we could, based upon the understanding, the goals and end product desired,by everyone of our customers. For ten years now ( Goodmudders officially started in 2010). This turned out to be the approach so so many of you wanted in a company you hire. I kind of expected that, to be honest. In fact,it was the image we chased. What I didn’t expect that is that so many of you had a hard time finding some who could do what I couldn’t do at the time. So many of you have waited, delayed and made your schedule around us!!! That’s amazing and truly something I would have never of seen coming. What that did though was put an extremely high demand upon us. The requests became never ending. I want to apologize for not getting back to those that reached out, did their best to contact us in the exact ways as anyone would. I had an absolute goal in the beginning of all this to never leave anyone hanging. I sadly could not keep up.
Things went well for us. We adapted and absorbed all the bumps and bruises that came with growing. We used that to refine our ways.
That’s until this recent ”new normal” we now ALL live with. Being in a small business and I personally handle the business side and communication side of this, when school was canceled for me and my family that squarely landed upon my shoulders. My wife is a nurse and her schedule could not change,so mine had to. There is so very much that change effects. My time is no longer doing estimates and defining scope of work it became digging in deep to learning elementary school all over again ( getting up to speed really) on how to home school my kids. This wiped me out to be completely honest. It will get better, I know but that became an overreaching reason for applying my time to other than Goodmudders. I’m not an essential business. Even if I was an essential business what I can do is limited. The amount of full days, and all over the map “times that i can” is a the new reality I find myself in. Another compounding factor is, its not just me. The ones I call on to help in this whole Goodmudders thing are pivoting their lives as well. It’s come down to me, what I can do and when I can do it. If you’re still with me after all the above, I hope you appreciate what I’m about to say. Building this Goodmudders thing is something I always and still do believe in. I was just a kid with ambition when this thing started. It came from nothing and was made into something. I have no plans of letting go and going out of business. I’m tried though, like never before. It’s almost gonna be a restart, in a different time, when this is over and a new way of doing things is a new reality. I’m still,as many of you are, trying to digest what and how that is. So for now, it’s just me. Answering email, phone calls, texts, scoping the job, estimating the job and doing the work all while being a non qualified substitute teacher able to work a couple days and a few hours here and there. That’s tough for me and will not be any better for you and your project, I’m sure . I will continue to provide the best possible product I can relative to your needs, wants and desires. YOU ALL have been the ones that allowed me the opportunity to prove that just understanding what you want by listening, saying what I mean and meaning what I say. Doing as expected success becomes a side effect. I’ve believed in that for 25 some years now and it has been proven by YOU that is what it takes. I’ve never set out to exceed expectations, only to meet them as expected. The goal is 3 stars, the aim is 5.
I hope you read that and understand that those are sincere thoughts and words. I’ve been trying hard to get it all into words to explain a side of something maybe not seen.
Be safe all and thank you.
Our website is currently down. I apologize for that and am working to get something up and running.
A SPECIAL NOTE
Goodmudders is growing now at a pace at which keeping up is becoming an issue. We have landed quite a few larger projects which has depleted our resources for taking on more work. This is a time n our business where we MUST make the right decisions. Rather than trying to take on everything that comes our way and just hiring anyone to do the job we have to either A. pass on the work (i really don't like to), B. Schedule 3-4 months in advance and put people on a waiting list. I know most of you reading this need the work completed sooner rather than later, but the only way for us to continue providing a professional, high quality service is to make these changes. We are in the process of hiring more people, but finding a "right fit" is extremely difficult. With that said we can do expedited services which moves people further up the list, but adds significantly to the cost of the project. We try to keep that to emergency and schedule sensitive type work.
We are currently swamped with estimate requests and large workload. We certainly want to provide our service to you, but we currently have quite a back log. There are about 30-40 phone calls a week and another 20 emails a week to be answered. I get a full voicemail box every 10 days and have a giant list of people to call back. We are a small company trying to provide excellent service to every customer. Our reluctance to just hire anyone makes our work load large, our workforce small, but our quality consistent. I can answer emails anytime of day, so please email me your information so I can map something out to schedule an estimate. Provide a name, address, contact information, best time of day to stop, your time line to get work completed and brief description of the work. If I don't get back to you it's not because I don't care about what you need done and your not important, you are, but there is only so much time in a day, week and month. If you need work done tomorrow or next week, we probably cannot help at this time. As you are planning your project please call/email. I am doing my best with this as we grow, so please try to be understanding. I just got an F for not getting back to someone, this was not necessary, we are just ultra busy. If I don't get back to you it means just that.
Goodmudders at this time consists of me(Donald Stefanovich), my business partner(Mark Louder) and our employee. We sometimes use LEGAL,QUALIFIED sub contractors for certain jobs. Our goal when the job is completed, is for you to never wander what you spent your money on. You work hard for your money and so do we.The work will be done the best way we know how.We don't claim to be: the best ever, perfect or top notch, that is up to customers to decide. We are professionals and know this trade very well. We do our best to execute every job as described in the estimate, without the need of change orders and price increases. We(Mark and I) started taping and finishing drywall in 1995. We started sub contracting in 1997(doing new construction) and had to move away from that in 2008 because of the market conditions. Goodmudders became our official name at this point. We have many years of experience doing taping and finishing work(that is where our skill is) and are able to do a couple stages before drywall and a couple stages after drywall allowing a homeowner to complete some of the work themselves(or use people they know) to save some money on home improvements. We offer 10% off labor for Angie's List customers on jobs $1,000.00 and over. There is a special discount for work scheduled in advance for our slow time, November through February of 20% off the TOTAL estimate (including materials)on jobs $1500.00 and above. Please email me(Donny) at donald@goodmudders.com or Mark at mark@goodmudders.com. We are in a busy time right now and will get in touch with you ASAP.
