CURRENT UPDATE Hello Thank you for clicking on my Angies List Profile. I am back and still in business. The Covid thing has been trying. As noted below many things have changed. This is an update to that. I am back to me, responding, looking at, estimating and doing the work. Quite overwhelming for one person. Reputable help is extremely hard to come by. Because of that I can only get to so many a day, week and month. That has become a problem for some members here. I’d like to thank you for your understanding and do wish I could get back to each and every one of you in the time frame desired. I sadly am not meeting that demand. I encourage you to text and email me outside the Angie’s List app. When I sit here and scroll through the hundreds, I get lost in the madness. I’m now getting “F” ratings based on work I’ve never done and it’s gonna make my Angie’s list presence disappear. I personally don’t see that as a fair shake being that I’m completely upfront about how things go and are going with updates like this one. Thank you all and be safe. I still put out top notch work and will continue to do so even though I may go away in Angie’s list. *COVID 19 update. Hi folks and I continue to thank all of you clicking on my company for the work you desire. We have always provided the best possible service we could, based upon the understanding, the goals and end product desired,by everyone of our customers. For ten years now ( Goodmudders officially started in 2010). This turned out to be the approach so so many of you wanted in a company you hire. I kind of expected that, to be honest. In fact,it was the image we chased. What I didn’t expect that is that so many of you had a hard time finding some who could do what I couldn’t do at the time. So many of you have waited, delayed and made your schedule around us!!! That’s amazing and truly something I would have never of seen coming. What that did though was put an extremely high demand upon us. The requests became never ending. I want to apologize for not getting back to those that reached out, did their best to contact us in the exact ways as anyone would. I had an absolute goal in the beginning of all this to never leave anyone hanging. I sadly could not keep up. Things went well for us. We adapted and absorbed all the bumps and bruises that came with growing. We used that to refine our ways. That’s until this recent ”new normal” we now ALL live with. Being in a small business and I personally handle the business side and communication side of this, when school was canceled for me and my family that squarely landed upon my shoulders. My wife is a nurse and her schedule could not change,so mine had to. There is so very much that change effects. My time is no longer doing estimates and defining scope of work it became digging in deep to learning elementary school all over again ( getting up to speed really) on how to home school my kids. This wiped me out to be completely honest. It will get better, I know but that became an overreaching reason for applying my time to other than Goodmudders. I’m not an essential business. Even if I was an essential business what I can do is limited. The amount of full days, and all over the map “times that i can” is a the new reality I find myself in. Another compounding factor is, its not just me. The ones I call on to help in this whole Goodmudders thing are pivoting their lives as well. It’s come down to me, what I can do and when I can do it. If you’re still with me after all the above, I hope you appreciate what I’m about to say. Building this Goodmudders thing is something I always and still do believe in. I was just a kid with ambition when this thing started. It came from nothing and was made into something. I have no plans of letting go and going out of business. I’m tried though, like never before. It’s almost gonna be a restart, in a different time, when this is over and a new way of doing things is a new reality. I’m still,as many of you are, trying to digest what and how that is. So for now, it’s just me. Answering email, phone calls, texts, scoping the job, estimating the job and doing the work all while being a non qualified substitute teacher able to work a couple days and a few hours here and there. That’s tough for me and will not be any better for you and your project, I’m sure . I will continue to provide the best possible product I can relative to your needs, wants and desires. YOU ALL have been the ones that allowed me the opportunity to prove that just understanding what you want by listening, saying what I mean and meaning what I say. Doing as expected success becomes a side effect. I’ve believed in that for 25 some years now and it has been proven by YOU that is what it takes. I’ve never set out to exceed expectations, only to meet them as expected. The goal is 3 stars, the aim is 5. I hope you read that and understand that those are sincere thoughts and words. I’ve been trying hard to get it all into words to explain a side of something maybe not seen. Be safe all and thank you. Our website is currently down. I apologize for that and am working to get something up and running. A SPECIAL NOTE Goodmudders is growing now at a pace at which keeping up is becoming an issue. We have landed quite a few larger projects which has depleted our resources for taking on more work. This is a time n our business where we MUST make the right decisions. Rather than trying to take on everything that comes our way and just hiring anyone to do the job we have to either A. pass on the work (i really don't like to), B. Schedule 3-4 months in advance and put people on a waiting list. I know most of you reading this need the work completed sooner rather than later, but the only way for us to continue providing a professional, high quality service is to make these changes. We are in the process of hiring more people, but finding a "right fit" is extremely difficult. With that said we can do expedited services which moves people further up the list, but adds significantly to the cost of the project. We try to keep that to emergency and schedule sensitive type work. We are currently swamped with estimate requests and large workload. We certainly want to provide our service to you, but we currently have quite a back log. There are about 30-40 phone calls a week and another 20 emails a week to be answered. I get a full voicemail box every 10 days and have a giant list of people to call back. We are a small company trying to provide excellent service to every customer. Our reluctance to just hire anyone makes our work load large, our workforce small, but our quality consistent. I can answer emails anytime of day, so please email me your information so I can map something out to schedule an estimate. Provide a name, address, contact information, best time of day to stop, your time line to get work completed and brief description of the work. If I don't get back to you it's not because I don't care about what you need done and your not important, you are, but there is only so much time in a day, week and month. If you need work done tomorrow or next week, we probably cannot help at this time. As you are planning your project please call/email. I am doing my best with this as we grow, so please try to be understanding. I just got an F for not getting back to someone, this was not necessary, we are just ultra busy. If I don't get back to you it means just that. Goodmudders at this time consists of me(Donald Stefanovich), my business partner(Mark Louder) and our employee. We sometimes use LEGAL,QUALIFIED sub contractors for certain jobs. Our goal when the job is completed, is for you to never wander what you spent your money on. You work hard for your money and so do we.The work will be done the best way we know how.We don't claim to be: the best ever, perfect or top notch, that is up to customers to decide. We are professionals and know this trade very well. We do our best to execute every job as described in the estimate, without the need of change orders and price increases. We(Mark and I) started taping and finishing drywall in 1995. We started sub contracting in 1997(doing new construction) and had to move away from that in 2008 because of the market conditions. Goodmudders became our official name at this point. We have many years of experience doing taping and finishing work(that is where our skill is) and are able to do a couple stages before drywall and a couple stages after drywall allowing a homeowner to complete some of the work themselves(or use people they know) to save some money on home improvements. We offer 10% off labor for Angie's List customers on jobs $1,000.00 and over. There is a special discount for work scheduled in advance for our slow time, November through February of 20% off the TOTAL estimate (including materials)on jobs $1500.00 and above. Please email me(Donny) at donald@goodmudders.com or Mark at mark@goodmudders.com. We are in a busy time right now and will get in touch with you ASAP.

They were AWESOME! They were here when they said they would be and the finished product is amazing. We had a lower bid from someone else, but my gut told me these were the people to do this type of work, and I'm glad I paid the extra to have it done right. The workers were all super friendly and cleaned up real nicely. I was very impressed.

We were so incredibly impressed with Goodmudders, their professionalism and the quality of their work. We had gotten several bids for finishing the drywall in our addition and they were the only ones that followed up after providing the bid. While they were not the absolute lowest price out of the all of our bids, we have learned throughout our experience of outsourced home projects, that you get what you pay for. We have dealt with other contractors that continuously lied about when they would be coming to do more work and projects always took at least 3 times longer than promised as well as costing more than said. We had come to expect that this was how the construction world is and we couldn't do anything about it. Goodmudders definitely changed our thinking and we saw that there actually are contractors that do as they promise and do things in a timely manner. Again, even though they weren't the lowest price, we couldn't be happier paying a little more for the quality work they provided and the timeliness of the job. They stuck with the schedule they had given us, showed up on time, and actually put in a full days work each day until the job was complete. They were courteous, cleaned up after themselves, and again we can't stress enough how quality their work is. We will definitely be using them for any future projects as we now know what it means to work with a caring and professional contractor. More contractors need to be like Goodmudders and care about the people that give them business.

I want to start by saying Donny and Stan from Goodmudders worked wonders on my project and I really couldn't be any happier. A spare bedroom of mine that I use as an office had a splatter paint effect done by a previous owner. Latex paint was used and it appeared to be flung onto the walls and ceiling (and many other surfaces in the room) by just loading paint brushes and whipping them across the room. This created heavy paint streaks everywhere that were nearly impossible to cover. I didn't want to do a texture paint effect to try to hide the splatter, and I didn't want to wallpaper the room either; I was looking to get the walls back to as close to flat as possible. There was no way a few coats of paint would cover it. Since it was latex paint, sanding was pretty much out of the question. And with drywall, a heat gun to loosen an scrape away the paint wasn't really an option either. After having several friends, extended friends of the family, and finally, professional contractors out to look at the room and offer suggestions, I was basically down to two options: tear down the existing drywall to the studs and re-drywall the entire room (including ceiling), or try to find an expert that could skim coat the entire room to level out the walls and cover the mess that was made with the splatter effect. I had gone through at least half a dozen contractors that I either felt wouldn't do the job justice or were incredibly expensive. Granted, this job was probably out-of-the-ordinary for most contractors, but I didn't get a good feeling from anyone early on. Had I chosen to re-drywall the entire room, not only would it have been invasive, but also very expensive. Then along came Donny Stefanovich from Goodmudders. I followed Donny's suggestions in his profile on Angie's List that emailing him was the best way to reach him, and within a day of my initial email, he had responded back with a time that he could come out to give me an estimate. He re-worked his schedule a bit to fit me in and when he saw the room, he was confident that he could make my room look like new with the skim coat technique. This was much less time intensive, required very little demolition, and was much more reasonably priced than completely re-drywalling the entire room. The original estimate was that it would take 2-3 days. Since my job was relatively minor in comparison to other jobs Donny and Stan do and because it was at a busy time of year for them, he asked if I could be flexible with my schedule because that would allow them to fit me in between other jobs and therefore get my job completed earlier. My employer allowed me that flexibility, so all I needed was a few days notice. After a few emails over the following two weeks ironing out the details of the job, we settled on some final decisions, and then I just needed to wait for Donny to be able to fit me in. He thought it would be a couple of weeks, which I was fine with. Well, within a few days of our last email, Donny emailed back to let me know he could fit me in the following week. This was only about three weeks after our initial correspondence, which I was thrilled with because I was really looking forward to having the job done before the holidays. Donny and Stan came out on Monday of Thanksgiving week to start the job. They laid drop cloths over the entire room and down all hallways where they would be walking to and from their truck, and they set to work. By the end of day one, I could already see the improvements. The splatter paint was nearly unnoticeable, and I was getting excited for my "new" room. When Tuesday morning rolled around, I unfortunately came down with a stomach illness, but I knew it was too late in the morning to ask Donny and Stan to reschedule. This was also a day when the weather forecasters were calling for several inches of snow turning into an ice storm by the afternoon. Despite the travel difficulties caused by the weather, Donny and Stan showed up as scheduled and set to work while I laid on the couch feeling nauseated. Throughout that second day, they were very respectful of my not feeling well and kept working to get the job done. Luckily, the ice storm turned into just a rain event, and Donny and Stan were able to complete the job in two days. They actually stayed both days until about 6:30-7:00 PM to make sure they got the job done right. In fact, I thought they had nearly finished by about 4:00 PM on the second day but then I saw them starting to mix up another batch of the drywall mud. When we did the final walk-through, they explained that the ceiling wasn't up to their standards (at 4:00 PM) so they worked at it some more until they were happy with it. I had looked at the room at 4:00 PM and I didn't notice any flaws, but I appreciated the extra effort they made to ensure it was done right. Because the splatter paint was on pretty much every surface (including the trim, window sill, and closet door), I also had Goodmudders replace the trim around the door, which was done quickly and looks great, too. The walls and ceiling are completely flat now and the splatter paint is now just a memory. The final cost of the job was exactly what we had discussed during our emails, so there were no surprises there. I am completely satisfied with the work that Donny and Stan did. They were absolute professionals throughout the entire process, and they cleaned up so well after they left that it was hard to tell drywall contractors had even been to my house. All of our communication was done through email and Donny is clear in his Angie's List description that that is the best way to get in contact with him. So, if anyone is looking to have drywall work done, I would strongly recommend emailing Donny at Goodmudders. You will not be disappointed with the work they do.
Description of Work: Goodmudders applied several skim coats of drywall mud over the walls and ceiling in a spare bedroom to cover a latex splatter paint effect that was otherwise uncoverable. They also replaced the door trim.

I had a leak in my great room ceiling. It ruined the dry wall and a contractor attempted to match the texture. It was a disaster. Goodmudders came in and were extremely professional. They took extra special care of our furniture and used plastic to cover everything. They put ram board down to protect our floors. They scraped the existing texture, fixed the patches and retextured. They then painted everything to make it easy on the family. The guys were awesome to me and my family and made sure we had access to whatever we needed while they worked. I will definitely use these guys when I have drywall work that needs done. Top notch! And they do what they say they are going to do.

When I called, the voicemail was Donald himself and he said that the quickest response would be to contact him by e-mail, which I found peculiar. I e-mailed anyway and I'm glad that I did, because Donald responded very promptly (within 5 minutes) and we exchanged a few e-mails rather quickly. He was prepared to come check out my basement the same day at 5:30 and seemed willing to do the work I needed within the week. Then for personal reasons I ended up not using his services, but my experience with the company was overall very positive and I would definitely use this company again in the future.

I never received any of the texts, emails or phone calls from this woman. The name shows nowhere in my emails. Her address says Ohio. I live in PA, I don't work in Ohio. Really People. If you do try to contact me try to understand that we are A small company and if I don't return a phone call, text or email it simply means I am busy. We are highly rated which means we get a ton of inquiries and means we cannot possibly answer them all. If you want to get an immediate response from someone who is just waiting for your call, email or text, call the company with Ds and Fs. They'll have plenty of time.

My wife and I bought my grandmothers 100 year old farm house about a year and a half ago. After completely demoing, restructuring and changing the floor plan we were ready for drywall. After deciding the project was too large for my father and me to tackle, I had several contractors out to bid the job. This process had me quite discouraged as most of the contractors walked through the house quickly, told me they would get back to me in a few days and I never heard from them again. A few others walked through the house, pointed out all the imperfections in the original balloon construction and proceeded to tell me that there was no way the drywall would look good in those spots. It was at this time that my wife signed us up on Angie?s List and we came across Donnie and the Goodmudders. After two email conversations, Donnie met me at the house and we thoroughly looked over the entire 2400 sq. foot property. Instead of making preemptive excuses about the difficult areas in the house, he took the time to explain what his guys and he would do in order to rectify the situation. After meeting for an hour I knew the Goodmudders were right for the job. In the next few days we came to terms and decided on a start date. I was very happy with the efficiency in which they hung the 5/8? drywall that I had decided to use on all of the walls and ceilings throughout the house. But, the true craftsmanship started when they began finishing the drywall. Donnie, Mark and Stan spent countless hours applying layers of mud to straighten out wavy walls, bowed corners and imperfect knee wall angles. After about 3 weeks of taping, mudding, re-mudding, mudding again and sanding, the job was done to perfection. My wife and I could not be happier with the results. It is not often said about contractors, but the Goodmudders were awesome to work with. They show up early, they work late, were always respectful and most importantly are outstanding drywall finishers - truecraftsman. If you have a drywall project, you would be amiss if you did not contact the Goodmudders!

Well this is gonna happen from time to time. The amount of phone call received is quite huge. As stated in my profile we are small and very busy and can only take on so much work. I think most people can understand that and if a return call is not made, it is not because I'm not being a jerk or avoiding anyone it is quite simply TOO BUSY. We are a highly rated company on Angie's List for a reason. We provide a top notch service to every customer 1 at a time. We never spread ourselves too thin and take on as much as we can manage at a given time. Thank you for trying to contact us and sorry for not being able to get back to you, this does happen. I mean no offense when I say call the lower rated guy, he has more time than I. That is a fact.

We left a phone and email message for Donny, explaining our work and timing requirements. We did not hear from him for about 10 days but then he called and made an appointment to give an estimate. His estimate was in line with others we received and he told us when the work could be done. We asked if he could start a few days earlier than scheduled (we had a carpet delivery date we needed to meet) and he said he would try to accommodate. Goodmudders started working several days earlier than initially estimated. They were courteous and professional throughout and kept us apprised of estimated completion date. The work was completed ahead of the original schedule and to our great satisfaction. We highly recommend them for drywall and/or painting work.

Donnie and crew from Goodmudders did a great job. They were always easy to communicate with and provided a very detailed proposal. Most importantly is that their work looks excellent. We were very pleased with the work Goodmudders did for us on our remodeling project. This project included two bedrooms and a bath and had multiple angled ceilings. The final product looks great, even better than we had hoped. We recommend Goodmudders without hesitation. They even let us use their large ladder and scaffolding so we could finish painting. They were friendly and very professional and completed the project on schedule. Thank you Goodmudders for a job well done.

Very professional. They tried very hard to not make too much of a mess and cleaned up after themselves. Beautiful job. Only problem was I waited several months for them to come. They are extremely busy.

Donald always responded quickly to my emails and phone calls. His crew were on time and thorough. They laid down pads to protect my carpets and removed furniture and fixtures as needed to ensure that there was no mess after the job. I think the prices were fair for the 3 or 4 things they did for me. Drywall repair and basement ceiling drywall were the big jobs, but they also did some painting for me. I am very pleased with Goodmudders work quality, timeliness and price. They even worked me in for short notice rush job and still the quality & price were very good. I will use Goodmudders in the future anytime I need drywall or painting.
Description of Work: Donald and company repaired a bedroom ceiling that had water damage and came back to finish my basement ceiling.

I would use these guys again in a heartbeat! Donny came out the day I called and I had a bid w/in 2 days and they started working about 2 weeks after that. The entire crew of guys are really great guys with good work ethics, friendly and good at what they do. They took great care to protect everything in my basement before starting the work, covering what couldn't be moved, moving what needed to be etc. and each day when they finished up for the day they left the basement neat and tidy. My house is on a hillside so they had to go up and down a grassy slope time after time but took it all in good humor. I had originally just asked them to finish the insulation and drywall it and was thrilled when, after me mentioning I'd have to find painters, learned they could also paint it out. The job came out looking fabulous; we are extremely happy with it. It not only looks great but they left the basement cleaner than when they started. I'd recommend these guys (and already have) to anyone. Their prices are very competitive and you will be thrilled with the results!
Description of Work: They finished insulating our huge basement ceiling (we had started the job several years ago but never finished), hung drywall, taped it out and then painted it with primer and one coat of paint.

A few days after I requested an estimate, Donny came out. Not only did he provide the estimate, he went on the roof and identified the cause of the leak in the powder room ceiling. I liked his professionalism and obvious pride in the work that Goodmudders provides. The estimate was reasonable and considerably less that I had anticipated. While doing the work, Donny and/or his crew had me inspect their work every step of the way before continuing. When they removed the damaged plaster living room wall, they showed me where the framing was rotted out from the water damage and identified the leak around the chimney. They were able to provide me with another reasonable estimate for that additional work - which also included removing and replacing some of the exterior siding. They removed all the window/floor molding and an oak fireplace mantle before installing the drywall. The woodwork and mantle were replaced perfectly and the new drywall looks perfect. Beyond the crew's professionalism and friendliness, I was impressed with their respect for my house/belongings and their attention to keeping the construction mess confined. There was absolutely no dust ever in the rest of the house and the affected areas were left cleaner than when work started. Over the years of owning this house, there have been additions built, kitchen and bathroom remodels, etc. I've never been as pleased with any of the work as I have been with Goodmudders. They actually left me wishing that I had more work for them to do!
Description of Work: Goodmudders removed a plaster living room wall that was heavily water damaged and replaced it with dry wall. They replaced the water damaged drywall ceiling in a powder room, fixed a stained portion of a dining room ceiling, and fixed a closet wall that had pulled away from the framing. They also added insulation to a (nasty) crawl space including insulating the duct work and water pipes.

Donny (one of the co-owners of Goodmudders) came out for an estimate a few days after we called requesting an estimate. He was very friendly and professional. We described the problem we had -- namely that the wall dividing our (under-house) garage and basement had become moldy due to water coming through the foundation wall. He quoted us on a number of other jobs (at my request), but we ultimately decided to focus only on tearing down the affected area and rebuilding the wall. Another issue was that the wall was situated underneath a corrugated steel pan that was used to poor the concrete porch above it. Condensation from the pan may have also contributed to water dripping onto the wall and causing damage. When Donny and his crew arrived to do the work, we had a discussion about re-routing the wall so that it would no longer be underneath the pan. There were a few other obstacles too (e.g., a pole supporting the I-beam for the floor support). He and his guys figured out a way to rebuild the wall so that we would have no problems with condensation in the future. It is worth mentioning that they had to go out for additional materials, etc. since they would be building two perpendicular walls rather than one. Donny charged me an additional $250 for the work, which I found extremely reasonable. His guys worked the whole day (and into the evening) very efficiently. They hung drywall on the newly framed walls and textured them to match the existing basement walls. The work was EXTREMELY professional and it looks absolutely perfect. We could not have asked for a better job. The rehung our trim and cleaned up very well. There is no doubt in our minds that we will call Goodmudders the next time we need any framing or drywall work to be done. We are considering finishing our basement, and they will certainly be the first choice for the job. It is worth mentioning that these guys take a lot of pride in their work. Both of the co-owners have years of experience doing drywall jobs, and it shows. It was refreshing to see contractors who actually take a great deal of pride in their work -- they were all perfectionists!
Description of Work: Goodmudders rebuilt and drywalled a basement wall that divides our garage and basement. The wall had been damaged due to water coming through our foundation wall. They redesigned the wall so that it was no longer underneath a steel pan used to support the concrete front porch.

The job came out very well. Donny, the owner did all the work himself. He worked with me on price and squeezed me in to his schedule because he knew I was tight on time. He had quality workmanship and great demeanor. Good guy overall. He came the day I called him for a quote to see the job and sent me one the next day. He took effort to make sure I was happy and worked alone because his crew was busy on other jobs so that I could have my job done in a short amount of time. While doing the ceiling and touching up the adjoining areas of existing walls, Donny removed an entire walls worth of paint because it was peeling off in one large sheet. He mudded it with a smooth finish for free. Throughout the entire job he went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. I have never had a contractor as good as Good Mudders, you won't be disappointed!
Description of Work: I had removed the ceiling and installed recessed lighting in my living room. All the nails were removed so there was a flat surface to begin work. Good Mudders were to install, mud and tape drywall on the living room ceiling and merge with existing drywalled wall sections. Approx 20x12 living room plus 4x6 area at the bottom of the stairs to second floor.

Well, Goodmudders gave us a very good estimate and worked with us regarding the start date. Once we agreed on a start date, they were VERY punctual each day. They finished on-time and without any extra charges. They are very professional and we would definitely use them again and would refer them.
Description of Work: Wanted our game room drywalled as it was only partially paneled and we were tired of looking at the Superior walls on the remainder. We contacted several contractors regarding this job.
