Zimmerman's Roofing

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it turned out very well. The service turned out very well, but the quotation that they gave me for replacing the roof was higher than what we expected. They were here to replace the gutter, which they did, and they went further and inspected my roof, and told me what needed to be replaced. I did not pay them additional money.

They did a very good job and were friendly and professional. We would have felt very comfortable going with them but decided to wait a couple of years to actually replace the roof. We did get a couple of evaluations from other companies who thought we could get more time out of our roof. If we did contract with Zimmerman's in the future I'm sure they would do an excellent job.

The workman was very professional and courteous. I was impressed with his work. He recommended repairs to the roof, but after getting two other estimates I choose another company for the repairs.

From the start with the sales rep, Zimmerman's Roofing is a professional business. Rep looked professional, knew all about roofing and gave us a feeling of confidence. The workers were polite and did a wonderful job. The job foreman came after the job was completed to make sure everything was to our agreement and if we were happy with the results. I would highly recommend them to anyone and when our main roof needs to be done (about 5 Yrs.) we will only contact Zimmerman's. I feel this is company that is in business, not only to make a living, but to make friends by being fair priced and honest. They also have an excellent warranty. These days, especially, it is so refreshing to find an honest, hardworking group of people.

Service was done in the rain and everything was finished. So far no issues to report on the work done.

They were amazing! The roof looks great, and the clean up was excellent. They even had a written guarantee for us so there was no hassle with that. We were still able to stay in the house while they were doing the roofing, and they called in to touch base with us to make sure everything was going well after everything was finished. They also were able to get the work done when they said they were going to get it done.

Great! Our one rain gutter (really long span) had been sagging since we bought the house-the roof guy who showed up tightened it up real well,He also cleaned out the gutters and checked out the whole roof.He was very professional and pleasant as well.

Expert technician with computer images of the problem areas in big bold color. Friendly, courteous roofers who offered multiple solutions and prices to the problems. Many color choices offered with actual material samples brought. Work done as promised. Complete haul away and clean up of old roof materials. Nothing done without our approval. Small down payment with balance due upon completion. It's only been three months, so I cannot comment (yet ) on the durability.....but the roof hasn't leaked since! We were very pleased with the professional conduct and workmanship of this company. Would definitely recommend them to others.

They did an amazing job. They charged me a reasonable amount for the shingles and did a good job. They said they would email me pictures of my roof. They were excellent.

I was impressed with the professional demeanor shown to me. I was given a chance to actually "see" my roof from the pictures taken by the tech. I never knew what my roof looked like in the 4 yrs I have been here!! He was very careful to show me and explain all the different cracks, bubbles, etc on the pics. I really appreciated that.

They were very prompt and mostly neat. While working guys were thorough down on shrubs, looking sloppy.

The Zimmerman's technician inspected the roof and cleaned the gutters.....an Angies list deal for $99. He took pictures and showed me what the roof looked like....so I could see it, not just rely on his description of it's condition. I contracted with them to replace the front porch roof. That job was excellent. The technician helped me pick out the shingles, and came back within a week to install the new roof. He was thoroughly professional, and cleaned up totally after the job was finished. I would recommend Zimmerman's to anyone who needs a new roof.

Service tech came out was very courteous and helpful, showed us the problem areas and after showing us the problem areas and after showing us the value of their services, he went right to work

The man who came out to check my property did an excellent job, was on time and displayed excellent customer service. The woman I spoke with handling the phone was very different. When I called for follow-up work to repair a gutter, she scheduled over $800 in repairs that I was explicit in telling her I did not want at this time. Thank goodness I called the day the work was to be done or I would not have known. Then when I asked if the gutter replacement would be included as part of the initial service cost that was included on the Angie's deal ($99 for a roof/gutter inspection which would be credited toward any repair work performed that was found needed from the inspection). She responded that it would not apply because the work would not total $99!!!!!!!!! What! That was not part of the advertisement. She was also quite snooty on each occasion when I called.I would not recommend this contractor.

They were punctual and professional. Assessed the issues and fixed them immediately. Thoroughly cleaned up and did a great job.

The representative that came to our home was prompt, knowledgable and was able to give us a quote immediately after he inspected the roof. I was impressed with his thoroughness. Unfortunately, Zimmermans price was much higher than another roofer that is also high on Angie's List. So we went with the other company.

The work was done quickly and efficiently and we've had no problems.

We had a very good experience with Zimmerman's Roofing. I had seen their trucks with the big rhino on the side at many places around the county and was glad to have the opportunity to try their services with an Angie's List "Big Deal." We were contacted promptly by the company and they were able to fit our schedule without issue. We received a verification call the day prior and the technician arrived on-schedule. We reviewed my concerns and he answered all questions easily. The technician started his tasks following our discussion. I was meeting with several other contractors that morning and ZR's technician easily performed his work without requiring additional attention. A couple hours later, the technician sat down with me and reviewed the entire process and inspection including pictures that were easily viewed on his tablet. We stepped through each part of the roof and he explained what he noted, to include expected issues and life expectancy. He reviewed work done by a previous contractor and noted how other techniques compare to what is present. The technician found clues that indicated a previous roofing replacement that was unknown about prior. All fasteners that were "popped" or exposed were secured and open seams/fasteners were sealed. The technician also made some tweaks to the gutter system and reviewed its' status. We reviewed remediation plans and he explained their StraightForward Pricing procedure. There was no sales pressure and I have all of the information I need to make a decision on repairing the roof. This was a fantastic experience and I feel confident in using their services in the future.

The gentleman from Zimmerman's used a ladder and leaf blower to clean all my gutters. He also inspected the roof, including going into my attic and taking pictures. He showed me the pictures on a tablet and indicated that there were no issues with the roof. He did recommend that I consider installing an attic fan because it was extremely hot up there which could increase my heating bills. He presented me with a pamphlet showing "no haggle" pricing for everything from roof repairs to attic fans. I did not see this as a needed expense and did not do it. Overall he did a fine job and I got what I paid for.

A representative from Zimmerman's closely examined the existing slate roof and determined that, after 85 years, it had seen it's last days. He provided me with a very detailed proposal with options for new insulation, ridge vent, types of shingles etc. Just to be sure, they had another person who does their slate work take a look. They then gave me an estimate of 2,000 for repair work that should get me through another year. The estimate together with the options we chose came in at $12,000 for a new roof. This was not the least expensive bid we had but was by far the most thorough. It was important for me to know exactly what we were getting since putting on a new roof is not something you do every year. I decided to go with them because of their attention to detail and their professional approach. From day one through the end of the project everything was done well. The mess from removing the old slate was not noticable. In fact the exterior was cleaner when they left that it was when they arrived. When the work was finished, they carefully examined the roof and did the "punch liist" the same day. I highly recommend Zimmerman's and would use them again but because of the great work they did, I don't think I'll be needing another roof.

My wife and I moved into our home in April 2012. Not long after we moved in, it became apparent that we needed new gutters. The gutter pins kept popping out to the point where water was pouring into the foundation in several spots every time there was a rain storm. This is our first home and this was our first time hiring a contractor on our own. We were nervous and unsure of ourselves going into this. We received several estimates from different contractors. I was told a few times that the gutter pins were popping probably because of wood rotted fascia board. The estimates that I was receiving would include itemized pricing for gutters, downspouts, gutter guards, etc. but would not price out the extra charge if new fascia board was needed. It was important for me to know this beforehand but I was unable to get a straight-forward answer from several estimators/sales associates. The spinning wheels in the prior paragraph occurred until I met Dave from Zimmerman's Roofing. Dave arrived at my house punctual and on time for an estimate. He introduced himself and took measurements of the property. Immediately, I felt comfortable with Dave and I feel that above all else, this is one of the most important attributes that you can find in a contractor. When I asked Dave about the possibility of rotting fascia board, instead of beating around the bush, he was the only estimator to go up on the roof and check under the drip edge. He assured me that the wood was good and while up there, even completed a quick inspection of the rest of the roof which wasn't necessary but very nice. Instead of pushing to upsale me, Dave took the time to explain pros and cons of different types of gutter guards and told me easy ways to clean and expand the life of our aluminum fascia cover instead of having it replaced. Dave was part of the crew that performed the installation. I had to work that day but my wife was home. The crew was on time and courteous to her. They worked quickly and efficiently. The installation was done by the time that I got home. The gutters look great and the crew cleaned up so well that you wouldn't have know they were here. We had a very positive experience with Zimmerman's Roofing and will be hiring them for roofing and related needs in the future.

The gentleman arrived on time and got right to work. He cleaned the gutters and looked over the roof and took pictures of all of our problems. He then reviewed all the pictures with me and made recommendations. We talked about the possibilities of repairs and if it made sense. He gave us a quote to replace the roof. We really need a new roof but just cannot afford it right now.

When the person came to give us a quote we accepted without getting any others estimates (mistake on our part). They say their quality is above the other roofing companies, something about an extra nail in each shingle. We stated we would go with the 1-year financing after giving a deposit. This person was supposed to arrange financing. He never did. On the day they showed up to do the work I had someone drop off papers and tell me they expected to be paid at the end of the job (which we had been told initially would be a 2-day job and ended up being a 1-day job). I had to call the office and ask about the financing. The secretary told me this should have already been taken care of by the person who took our deposit. She gave me the number of their bank and I had to call and go through the credit application process on the phone. They finished in a day and several of my shrubs that they covered in plastic had the tops burned off, several plants were crushed, and we had several spots of burned grass including on my neighbor's property. The young man who dropped off papers in the morning said he would be back the following day to do a walk around. The roofing crew left several bundles of shingles in my driveway which he took the next day. I told him I was not pleased with the lack of communication from the office, dropping the ball on the financing, and I was not happy about my shrubs, plants, and grass. I figured he would relay this to management and I would receive a call from someone. I never did. I also realized he took all the bundles and I thought they were supposed to leave one. I waited a week and called and spoke with the owner. I asked him if he ever heard I was not pleased. He said no. I then asked was I supposed to have been left a bundle of shingles? He said yes and he would have someone bring one back. He listened and said he was sorry I was not pleased, and that was it. I saw my neighbor and apologized for the burned spots on the grass and he said it was okay, it would grow back. He had his roof replaced about 6 months prior and I asked him about who he used. He said they had Zimmermans out for an estimate which was "almost 2000 dollars higher" and when they said thanks they were getting other estimates the representative got a bit pushy and tried pressing them into signing that day. They went with another company and had a good experience. That didn't happen to us because we just signed on the dotted line (our mistake). My advice is to get several quotes before deciding if an extra nail in each shingle is worth "almost 2000 dollars" more. The overall experience left us feeling they were not worth the extra money!

I know they have a very good reputation. It's a great company and they were very, very nice, I just decided to not do any of the work right now because it's not necessary and because they were much higher than anyone else. However, I am a realtor and I always highly recommend them to my clients.

After the evaluation, he said someone else from the company would contact us back to give us our estimate but we never heard from them. They did a good job checking the roof there could have just been some fall out in the office.
