I called Shanks to have a garage door opener installed and was told the salesman was busy and left my name and number for him to call me back. I waited all day. He never called. You just lost a potential customer. I went with another company to have the opener installed. If Shanks can't return a simple phone call then I don't need their business.

The garage doors were installed 3/25/14. Nate from Shank did a professional job and we are very pleased.

The entire experience was excellent. I submitted a request on their website and got a call back same day, even though my job was a relatively small service request. They promptly scheduled a visit from a technician within a couple days. He arrived on time and was very knowledgeable and experienced. He had all of the parts he needed with him on the truck to make all of the repairs. I would absolutely use them again!

They are absolutely great. They have very little turn-over and the people there are very friendly and knowledgeable. They also maintenance the doors and they are always here in a hurry.

The Shank guy came out and measured my door then on the scheduled day, put in the new door and opener. Seamless. Easy. No problems - great product and service. Would tell anyone needing a garage door to check these guys out. I compared costs to home depot, these guys were less expensive. I had heard about these guys from a good friend. And my buddy was right - these guys are awesome!

They never showed or called to give me an estimate

After a week , the problem recurred and the same tech came out and determined we needed a new circuit board , showing me where a very small solder point was cracked,which caused intermittent stops in raising the door. He installed a new board and have had no problems since. Very happy there was no visit charge for the second appointment and the board was only about $85.00. Labor was negligible since it took less than 1/2 an hour to install. Total cost about $200.00 since I requested maintenance on BOTH our doors while he was here for the first visit.Would recommend. Had used this company at a previous residence.

My service technician (Harold) was very knowledgeable and friendly. He arrived on time and was able to pinpoint and repair my garage door. I thought it may have been a tension spring issue, but it was actually a circuit board issue. He replaced the circuit board and the door works fine. Harold was even apologetic that he had to charge extra ($84.00) for the part. I thought that the time and labor was priced well.

The oringinal was not a shank door but I wasnt that impressed with the original overhead door. I called. The sales person came and we came up with the best fit for my budget and need. Withing 48 hrs the job was finished and I was very happy with the result.

We had a spring break on the garage door. Called Shank on Friday afternoon explained what happened, the gave us an estimate of 160.00 to 195.00 over the phone set up a time for Monday. They showed up on time and had both springs replaced and a safety cable. Total bill came to 162.08. Installer did a nice job and left no mess.

I will explain the erratic "click" ratings above. Also, I will explain why I didn't enter anything in "service performed" area of this form......My home was built in 1992. The subcontractor who installed the garage door was Shank Door. In my mind, I thought I would contact them 1st. Mainly because, this contractor were the ones to install the doors for the home building company that was the main contractor. My garage door was functional, but even with regular garage door lube, would become rickety and noisy often. In short, I'm open-minded to changes. But, when I give direct and precise instructions on my need for service or an installation. There should be no doubt of what my needs are. When I called Shank Door, I explained clearly that service was priority. However, if the door was in some way a hazard or absolutely needed eventual replacement. Then accordingly, that route would be taken. An appointment was made at that point. Instead of a service/repair person being dispatched. One of their salesman showed up here. Giving the benefit of the doubt, I invited him in to discuss why I called them. I thought maybe they do this first, rather than send a serviceman/technician first. Well, he indeed discussed what was involved in replacement and costs of a new door. I left the salesman fill me in fully. Afterwards, he departed. Other than glance at the door (I left him in and out that way, due to other remodeling that required the garage door stay up). He looked once in each direction (side to side) at the door when walking in. There was no further activity. In a nutshell, I called for service. And only replacement if absolutely required. Since my instructions on the service call were ignored. And the office sent only a salesperson to report for a service call. I was immediately irritated that they were just going to educate me on costs and install of a door. I decided to call Overhead Door (see my rating) shortly thereafter. Obviously my original instructions were ignored. I decided I would not call again for service. And I would not be calling them again, period....I rated overall a "C" because I did not know who was the culprit to make the decision to bypass my original instruction. The "C" rating being in the middle rating expressed my views of them as "indifferent". Since there was zero outcome in the service or new install category. Responsiveness and Punctuality were rated an "A". Because, in truth he was (as a salesperson) excellent in that perspective. The "B" rating in professionalism was entered because he was very professional. But, not an "A" rating in relation to my "C" overall rating.

I called Shank Door on the day after Labor Day - a Tuesday - because that was the name on the door of my garage from the installation at the time the home was built. I received a return call to set up service to have my door repaired within hours of my initial call and they were able to provide me with a service time before I left for work. The serviceman was prompt, polite and very good at explaining all that he was going to do. within an hour my door was fixed and I was on my way to work. They were fabulous!

I called the Shank Door office on a Friday. On Monday the salesman came and showed me my door choices, There was no hard sell or pushing me into any model. I appreciated the collaborative approach we took to making the choice. After I made the selection, the salesman called the office and confirmed that the door was in stock. We made the installation appointment right then. The following Monday, the door was installed. It's attractive and the opener is very quiet. I like a no-nonsese, effective transaction, and this was one. I would definitely use this company again.

We were extremely pleased with the experience from start to finish. The salesman, Tim, arrived promptly to give us an estimate. Because of the expense of the project, we also obtained 4 additional quotes from other companies. Tim was very patient with our numerous questions and responded to all of our emails. He also provided the addresses of homes with the door styles were were interested in for us to drive by. After going over all of the quotes, Shank Door offered the best quality product (we purchased a Haas door) at the best price. Shank was unique in that their installers were also skilled in construction, so that they same two guys did the entire project from removing the old door, enlarging the opening, and installing the new one--all in one day. The other companies either couldn't do the construction or were exorbitant in price for that part of the project. On the day scheduled for installation, the workers called (as we requested) to let us know when they were on their way. The arrived on time and got to work immediately. Both of the guys were extremely courteous, pleasant, and professional--I would highly recommend them (one was named Brendan). The work was finished in one day. We are extremely pleased with the new door and would definitely recommend Tim (our salesman), the installers, and Shank Doors.

Very professional from the estimate through overall work

Called for estimate and decided to move forward based on price and product offered. Dispatched called me back to schedule install within 2 weeks of estimate. Installer arrived on time and completed work in a few hours.

The representative came and gave a profesional estimate and answered questions including giving advise that selling the old doors may be possible by putting an ad in the local free paper. I did as he suggested and sold the door the day it was removed. the door was delivered and installed as scheduled by a very competent installer. All in all we are very satisfied.

They completed the job as scheduled and the door works well and looks good. I will use them for any service needs.
