Description of Work: Our main bath was remodeled by Cratsa Construction. They gutted the bath, installed new drywall, tile (both on walls & floor), installed new fixtures and a pocket door. The guys were extremely professional -- on time and worked full days every day. They cleaned up every evening to ensure as little disruption in the house as possible. We were extremely happy with the work!!

+ 9 moreThe workmen arrived as promised, came daily, and stayed on this job until it was finished. Everything went well, problems that arose were dealt with calmly and efficiently. The guys on the job were "ultra-polite", pleasant, and great to deal with. They were neat and cleaned up each day. Of course there was dust, etc., but they did everything possible to keep the mess to a minimum. We had a slight delay waiting for fixtures, but the men returned to complete the job as soon as the fixtures arrived. The delay had nothing to do with them, but rather my supplier for the vanities.
Description of Work: We completely renovated a man's dressing room and an adjoining powder room. Job involved completely removing old built-in closets, vanities, plumbing, bulkhead, floors and one wall and replacing ceiling, one wall, installing heated tile floor, two vanities, toilet, and very complex ceramic and glass shower. Added new wiring, light fixtures, and pump to increase water pressure in house. Re-configured doorway entrance from basement to first floor renovated area. Entire areas re-plastered, painted, etc. The price above is for the work done by this company only. It does not include fixtures, tile, glass, etc.

+ -1 moreOne problem with finding a contractor for this kind of thing is that there seem to be few of them out there. The big bathroom rebuilding companies just look too expensive and one doesn't know how to evaluate the small ones. I was prepared to do a lot of shopping round, getting multiple proposals. I didn't. Nick Cratsa was the first one to come and I trusted him right off, he was quick in his choices of what to do, found the right tile to match our classic patterns, had excellent design advice (line the opening with marble, not tile, etc.) and came promptly with a crew that is absolutely first rate.
Description of Work: Nick's company rebuilt a shower that had a leak in the pan. This meant tearing out the whole thing from bottom up, replacing the pan, rebuilding the shower, installing new plumbing, fixtures and tiles. This was a small shower, which in fact made the job more difficult because all the work had to be done inside the cramped space, cramped for working, just fine for showering.

+ -1 moreThis was certainly a pleasant experience. Nick was done as promised in 7 working days. Before the start, he gave us a good plan and a shopping list. Nick was very professional, friendly, and timely. We could tell that he cared, and also enjoyed what he did. We'd certainly use him again, and recommend him highly to anyone!
Description of Work: We had an unfinished bathroom in the basement. After doing a quick search on Angie's List, we found Nick and it was smooth sailing from then on! After giving a quick estimate (we had one more estimate, but liked Nick's attitude and nature!) Nick started work on an agreed date including framing, plumbing, heating & vent, electrical, flooring, wall & ceiling, trim, accessories etc.

+ 8 moreOverall, it went very well, and we were extremely pleased. Established a good rapport with Nick and the crew. They showed up when they said, worked almost exclusively on our job (3 straight weeks, and then a day here and there). They were very neat, took all of the trash away. They showed excellent workmanship and attention to detail. No sloppiness anywhere. We felt very comfortable leaving them to their work, although there were a few times when they did things without checking or explaining, although that was all clarified soon after. Nick was always available by cell phone or home phone and returned calls quickly.
Description of Work: Walk through to determine the estimate and what needed to be done. Gutted the kitchen: removed lath and plaster from walls and ceiling, removed tiles from ceiling, removed flooring, ripped out old cabinets, removed old dishwasher and sink, removed all trim and either replaced it with new or stripped the old, moved stove and refrigerator into dining room (without damaging the floor). Placed studs along outer wall to accommodate insulation and new wiring. Placed drywall on walls and ceiling, painted, placed underfloor and vinyl, installed cabinets and molding, installed under-cabinet lighting, installed ceiling light/fan, light over sink, hood with fan/light over stove, stripped and stained two doors, replaced framing around one door and window. After the countertops were placed by another contractor, they installed the sink, disposal, and the dishwasher. They also removed old vinyl from the mudroom and added vinyl flooring, as well as stripping and staining the steps to the mudroom, stripped and stained step to the living room. After some delay, placed a new window and cabinet doors around a radiator.

While I understand the price, my house is small and I couldn't justify spending what it would have cost for Nick to do the work. I contacted him and he showed up within 2 days to look at the job and was very honest about what he thought and what would be required to do the job right.
Description of Work: The work hasn't been completed as of yet, but I received a quote from Nick on remodeling my very small bathroom and kitchen. Bathroom involves removing old tub and surround, installing new tub, tile, floor, vanity, sink and updating plumbing and electrical. Kitchen involves moving a wall, installing new cabinets, counter, floor, dishwasher and updating plumbing and electrical.

Description of Work: The overall project included the kitchen, two bathrooms, study and enclosed area to make a mudroom. The kitchen work involved the demolition and preparation of walls and ceilings for new cabinets. In addition they completed all plumbing and electric and installed new appliances including a ventilation system for the range. Bathrooms involved electric and rerouting of plumbing and installation of new fixtures. They installed tile.

+ 2 moreWe got a call back the same day and arranged for a visit within three days of the call. Within a week of the visit, we had an estimate. The work started on the day scheduled. Nick and his crew were clean and curtious, minimizing the impact of the job on us. They spent a considerable amount of time fixing problems left by the previous owners - including properly installing insulation in the transition between the bathroom and the bedroom and cleaning out a pile of debris that had been dumped below the old bathroom. Along the way, we made changes to the lighting plan and bathtub that resulted in little delay or added expense. The final product looks fantastic! The only problem that arose after the job was completed was a sensitive GFI that kept tripping. Nick came out and fixed the problem within a week of our call.
Description of Work: We came to Nick with a design that involved relocating the toilet, shower and tub, expanding the vanity and changing the lighting. The extent of the project required a total gutting of the existing room, re-wiring, re-plumbing, new insulation, new ventilation, new tiling. The only thing not replaced was a window. Nick did the entire job.

Description of Work: Complete bathroom remodeling. Gutted bathroom and installed new ceramic tile shower and glass door, new floor, toilet, pedestal sink, wall cabinets and light. Repaired and painted walls and ceiling Also installed tub/shower fixtures in adjoining bathroom. The cost noted above was for labor. The tile, shower door, toilet, sink, fixtures, cabinets, etc. were an additional 1500. In his estimate Nick tells you the labor cost, which is set, and gives you a price range for buying each of the items such as the fixtures, tile, cabinets, toilet, etc. This helped a lot in determining our budget and we were able to find excellent quality items in the medium range of his figures.
