I left a voicemail and received a call back (3) weeks later and was told they are booked up for the next (3) months.

Our home was built and finished in 1910 and is of the Arts and Crafts style. We had waited for several years before deciding it was time to have some 'facelifts' and we set about finding a contractor. We had over 9 contractors from Angie's list come and look at the work and a few didn't want to work on this old house. Nick Cratsa came and we found him knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and his quote was around where we had hoped to be. We had told Nick that we needed the work done before the end of April and he was very considerate of that and worked with us on the scheduling. When Nick called to say they were ready to start, we worked with him to make sure we were ready also. Nick's men arrived and were also extremely friendly, professional, and knowledgeable and they worked through several problems that were uncovered and they worked well with us, who tend to be sticklers for detail. The original job and scope of work turned from 2 weeks into 5 and each step of the way the time, cost, and material additions were discussed and agreed upon amicably. Nick and his men never left our work until it was done - today - and we can honestly say we were sad to see them go. But, we will have them back again soon for more work. We also should say that they treated this old house as our home and showed immense respect for it. They left everyday with the house and garage (staging area) tidy and as clean as possible.

I have used them before. I thought their prices were very reasonable and their employees were very good.

He was punctual, had a lot of good ideas and was very thorough. I got the impression that he knew what he was doing and didn't end up using him because we didn't realize how expensive the job was going to be. We also had another competing bid and Crasta was not too much higher than the other bid.

I contacted several contractors in the Spring of 2011 to get estimates on designing and building an entryway to our house, as well as doing some general carpentry and repairs on the inside of our house. Because this was a relatively small job, some of the contractors that I contacted were not interested in coming out and giving me an estimate. I eventually had 4 different contractors come to the house to discuss the project. Nick Cratsa was by far the most responsive and professional of all of the contractors I spoke with. He got back to me promptly with an estimate, which included drawings of the interior and the exterior of the entryway, a detailed description of the work that was to be done, and a list of materials that I would have to purchase for the construction of the entryway, as well as for the other projects that were to be done inside the house. After signing the contract, he told me to expect that the work would start some time in September. The only negative thing I have to say is that they didn't end up starting the job until the end of November. But it was definitely worth the wait! Once his team of workmen started, they showed up each and every day promtpy at 8 a.m. They were professional, courteous, and very pleasant to work with. They accomodated any special requests we had. Their work was done thoroughly and with attention to detail. The entryway is beautiful and is exactly what I wanted. The bench and shelf in the entryway, as well as the cabinets in our mud room that Nick designed and built are absolutely gorgeous. He is quite the craftsman when it comes to making cabinets and doing custom wood work. I am extremely pleased with all of the work that they did. I would highlyl recommend Cratsa Construction and will definitely be using them for any future construction/remodelling, carpentry projects.

Mr. Cratsa and his crew were a pleasure to work with. He was on-time for all appointments that he set. His estimate was quickly returned and he explained all questions that we had, and even gave us advice on small projects that we were working on ourselves. He began the work a day before they were scheduled to arrive (and called ahead of time to let us know they would be starting early). The crew was polite, professional, and paid close attention to detail. We could not have been happier with our experience with Mr. Cratsa, and will definitely hire him again.

Mr. Cratsa was the epitome of professionalism. Everything about our experience with him was exemplary. He responded to an e-mail request within 24 hours. He made an appointment and arrived 10 minutes prior to the appointment time. He was brutally honest with us - which was greatly appreciated. He answered all of our questions and made some recommendations that were quite welcome. If we ever get around to our project he is the one we would like to perform the work.

Mr. Cratsa showed up on time and was very professional. The estimate that he provided was professionally done and included drawings. We regret that we are unable to use his services because his estimate exceeded our budget.

Nick and crew removed an old bathroom sink and toilet. They installed a new pedestal sink, new toilet and new vinyl floor in the bathroom. In the kitchen, they installed new base cabinets, dishwasher, countertop, sink and disposal. I purchased the flooring, countertop, fixtures, appliances and cabinets. The kitchen also received 4 new electrical outlets. Some time later, my German Shepherd (Nick called him "Killer"!) pulled a back porch column out of place leaving me with a dangling porch roof. Nick saved the day by sending someone that morning to make repairs.

He is just excellent. He really built everything himself with the help of only one person. He did the construction, he put in cherry cabinets and Corian countertops, he put in recessed lighting, he put in floor tile, and he put on shutter doors. I give him the highest recommendation because his work is just perfect. I recommend him to anyone. He is a perfectionist so everything he does is done correctly and he has a very high level to his work. He is a real craftsman and he insists on the best when he has someone work with him. He is personable as well and he is easy to work with. He comes out to look at what needs to be done and he makes an estimate; he tells you what needs to be done and why. He gets most of his work by word of mouth because people he works for are willing to recommend him.

We scheduled an estimate time for the following day but he never showed up.

They did a great job -- I couldn't be happier. They arrived promptly each day, explained what they were doing and talked to me about options, and went the extra mile to make sure that the end result would be good. They then cleaned up very thoroughly -- left the place a bit cleaner than they found it!

They were great, very straight forward and they did a really nice job. The guys were professional and pleasant to have in my home. They were nice to work with and the price came out to be pretty much what they said it would be. They were a little bit lower than my other bid, but comparable.

They did sheetrock work, painting. They were really good from start to finish! They cleaned up afterward too! They were friendly and went out of the way to make sure the job was done to my satisfaction.

Mr. Cratsa gave us a written contract that detailed what had to be done in the project. He was very helpful and advised us about specifications for the new appliances we bought. His workers were punctual and completed the work in a neat and timely manner. He was a bit harder to contact as the very busy construction season took over in the summer but again the work always got done when he promised. He has a pleasant manner and is nice to deal with.

It took about two weeks since they were working several jobs at the same time. I knew this up front and had no problem with it since I was more interested in quality than speed. It turned out beautifully. They made my finishing work easy as all their work was spot on and all plumbing and electric worked perfectly. I felt lucky to find a contractor to do the hard work and allow me to do the finishing. While I may have gotten the work done for slightly less I feel I got good value and I am very pleased with the result.

Everything went well. Some sort of time constraint came up, and they even came out on the weekend to finish up a couple things. The project went very well.

He is just excellent. I have recommended him to others. He is a perfectionist; whatever he does, he does it perfectly. I?d highly recommend him to anyone. I paid around $30000 on the second addition. He put an addition above the den and enlarged it. He made the bedroom into a suite. It is just wonderful. I will not hesitate to use him again in the future.

Nick was helpful in reviewing my home inspection report and discussing options for corrective actions identified and additional projects that I wanted performed to enhance the home's value as well. Nick?s estimates are well defined and thorough. Nick and Bud performed several projects at the home. The projects included installing a new full bathroom for the game room, blowing insulation in the attic, installing drywall on ceiling and walls in the game room and flooring, and reattaching soffit and fascia. When planning for the projects, Nick is able to provide good ideas for material/product selection and the best options for cost and quality. In addition, Nick was able to help us design the layout of the bathroom to best use the available space. Nick was very helpful in guiding us through a home store retailer when selecting products to install in the new bathroom. Nick and his team are enjoyable to work with and go the extra mile as needed. Nick and his team worked very efficiently, timely, and professionally. They are skilled craftsmen. The projects were successfully completed and achieved what we were going for. The workmanship is very much appreciated. I highly recommend Cratsa Construction. Thanks to Nick and his team!

I was very impressed with Nick's proposal for the kitchen and bathroom. His proposal overview incorporated an itemized listed of the work to be completed by Cratsa Construction, remodeling cost, materials involved and the responsiblities of all parties. Nick was extremely professional and friendly and always available by cell and returned calls promptly. Nick was very honest and up front about his business and services that he would provide. Nick's workmen headed by Eric were excellent. They proved to be just as professional as Nick in providing skilled services of their trade. The hardworking crew showed up promptly each day on time and provided a full days work. They also provided care in cleaning the work area each day. We are extremely pleased with the kitchen and bath remolding and would highly recommend Crasta Contstruction.

The crew arrived on time, ready to work and cleaned up when they were finished every day. They did a neat and professional job and took care of any problems right away.

I'm in the middle of renovating an old house and became a bit overwhelmed with doing all the work myself. I called Cratsa Construction and Nick returned my called promptly. Nick came out and gave me an estimate on installing a new floor on the first floor of my house, finish the trim carpentry in 5 rooms plus a hall and staircase, and doing some drywall work. I called Nick back a few weeks later to see if he was interested in doing the floor and trim carpentry because i decided to do plaster instead of drywall and he was fine with that. He sent me an updated bid and we set a tentative date based on his backlog of work. They started the work on schedule, maybe a week ahead of time. I was impressed with the quality of work considering my house is 110 years old and the floor is very unlevel, all the exterior walls are brick which made installing the baseboard a little more difficult and they were dealing with some salvage door materials that were probably not that easy to work with. They did some details like trimming nicely around heat register outlets that interfered with the baseboard that I appreciated. I had a good report with Nick and his employees, he was very conscious of any concerns and getting the job done right. I had no problems leaving them at the house during the day when I was at work. I would definitely use them in the future.
