The average homeowner does not realize that there are two types of sealant from which to choose, either a high quality petroleum based sealant or a low cost water based sealant called coal tar, a product that will actually cause your driveway to deteriorate. Let me try to briefly explain. Since your driveway is made of asphalt it makes sense to use a petroleum based sealant that contains asphalt to protect and rejuvenate the surface, which is what we use, a product called LN-11 Equinox. However, the vast majority of seal coating companies in this area seal driveways using inferior coal tar. Coal tar is a waste product of the coking industry, it’s mixed with water and painted onto your driveway. Think about how searing hot your driveway gets in the summer. The reason you don't want to put coal tar on it is because it seals the surface of your driveway so solidly that it makes it virtually impossible for the hot summertime heat to escape your driveway’s surface without causing damage. This is a critical issue and here’s why, the only way for the summer heat build up to escape from a coal tarred driveway is by cracking the surface of the coal tar, which by default results in the cracking of your driveway’s surface. Description of Work: Not much to say here. The crew showed up while I was working and completed the job. I looks great and the neighbors are asking my secret. Time will reveal the need to repeat the seal. The local office was easy to work with and responsive in communication.

Description of Work: Cleaned driveway with blower. Then sprayed the asphalt sealer, blocking off sidewalk and driveway. I gave high score for quality based on the neat and even appearance but since application was only 1 month ago, can't comment about durability. Thoroughly explained about cure time and future maintenance for driveway.
