Pat was amazing -- I explained the problem and he fit me into his day, had the part with him that the washer needed and was done in less than an half an hour. After trying to see what he could do with my Samsung refrigerator ice maker, he suggested calling another appliance repair guy who worked on samsungs. Could not have been more helpful. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND -- especially if you live in the South Hills as he does too and its easy for him to make a space in his schedule if you're nearby.

I noticed my refrigerator was not cold over the weekend and called Appliance Services early Monday morning shortly before the start of business, expecting to leave a phone message . Patrick, the owner, answered the phone, asked a few questions about the problem and was able to fit in a service call that same afternoon, providing a 2-hr window and promising to call shortly before arriving. He called in advance as promised and arrived in the first 15 minutes of the 2-hr window. On arrival Patrick went straight to the refrigerator and got down to business. After a further chat about the symptoms and looking over the situation which appeared to be a defrost problem, he was suspecting a problem with the heating mechanism. We unpackaged the freezer and he opened up the unit expecting to see the cooling mechanism iced up. Instead the problem turned out to be something simpler. The drain had iced over and there was a layer of ice covering the bottom of the freezer which had blocked the cooling vents going down into the refrigerator section. Based on further conversation and my description that there had always been water draining into the refrigerator from the freezer section, it might have been this way since the unit was new. This gave him quite a chuckle. Heck, what did I know about what was normal behavior for a refrigerator. It had always behaved that way :-) The repair involved breaking up the ice layer, melting the ice in the blocked drain and vents and adding a metal strip from the heating element down into the drain as a preventive measure to forestall a similar blockage in the future. Patrick then closed up the unit and helped put back all the frozen food. During this entire process he was more than happy to answer any of my questions and even offered suggestions on what to watch out for if I would need to do this again and wanted to try it myself (not likely -- remember I'm the one who thought draining water might be normal!). The entire repair was completed in under an hour. I was extremely happy with the result and would call Appliance Services again in a heartbeat for any other major appliance repair.

Patrick was great. He came and gave me an estimate. After he took the part out, he had difficulty with a screw that was stripped. He told me that if he couldn't get it out, I would also have to replace the burner. After working on it for a bit, he asked if I minded if he took the part to a local hardware store to see if they could saw the screw off. I agreed and he was gone for 45 minutes. He returned, the problem was taken care of and the broken part was replaced without having to replace the burner. After all that, he charged my the price originally quoted, with no addition for the time taken in the trip to the hardware store. I was very pleased and will call him again.

Our oven would turn on but not seem to heat up reliably. The stove and broil function worked fine, so the problem only appeared to affect the bake setting on the oven. Patrick was very nice and professional during his short job at our house. He was in and out in probably 30 minutes or less, and identified the problem just by talking to us over the phone, and was able to fix it very quickly. When we called to set up the appointment we found out that he would not be working for the next week or so, but we wanted to stay with Patrick because of his helpfulness and professionalism. We set up an appointment for after he returned and it really was worth the wait. He also checked the other components of the oven while replacing the faulty igniter. If we ever needed an appliance repaired in the future, we would definitely call him again.

He gave me lots of tips about keeping the dishwasher from freezing up again and also new ways to keep dishes cleaner since phosphates have been banned.

I was very happy with his work. Now I can wash clothes and bake.

Patrick called before arriving. He was punctual and explained what I needed to have done. He first replaced the thermostat but then found that the fan was not functioning. He called to see if he could get the part and returned the next day to install the fan. He worked around my work schedule. I would definitely have him back should I need an appliance repaired again.

He returned my call within 10 minutes. He knew via phone exactly what the issue was. Even though he could not come until the next day, when he did, he called 30 minutes before his arrival and fixed it in 15 to 20 minutes. His responsiveness and professionalism are amazing and I would use him for any appliance issue I ever have.

Patrick at Appliance Services (note to Angie's...there is an and quot;sand quot; on the end of and quot;servicesand quot;) called back in 30 minutes. We diagnosed the likely problem on the phone, and I mentioned the dryer duct work was also falling apart and was restrictive. He said he thought he could get a new GE belt for my model number, and he could bring some ducting hose. He called back and we set an appointment for the repair. He arrived on time, and we headed for the basement. The dryer was in an awkward corner next to the washer. It was on a 16 inch-high concrete pedistal. It had to be moved forward about 18 inches so Patrick could get behind it and get to the belt and the ducting. I helped steady the dryer as the front was in mid-air. Patrick is smart, interesting and polite, and we chatted a bit as he worked. Somehow he climbed up and down behind the dryer and back out of about 6 times without even putting his foot on top of the washer. He replaced the belt and tore out all the old ducting. He replaced the ducting with an aluminum flex hose, and he pushed the dryer back in place. It worked fine! He tidied things up nicely. It seemed like we were back in the good old days when these kinds of repairs were common and cheap. In spite of all the work, dirt and hastle, and replacing the ducting too, Patrick still asked only for the agreed on price of $80 plus tax. My wife and I were very happy. I didn't understand how he could make a living charging so little for so much time and effort. I slipped him a 20 on the way out. A great experience. It is now 10 days later, and the dryer has been back in service and is doing fine.

Patrick was excellent. I called him on a Monday afternoon late in the day, and he scheduled me for the next afternoon within a two-hour window. He arrived at the early end of that window. His brother joined him, and was equally nice. They were in and out in about a half hour with my dryer fixed and my other items diagnosed, and the charge for everything was only $85, which is very reasonable. He also told me that my old dryer (a high-capacity, simple, old Whirlpool) could go on forever, and if the motor went, it would still be only $200 or so to rewire and replace it, which is a fraction of the cost of what its replacement would be, which was nice to know. I am extremely happy with the service and his most agreeable, professional, and gracious, polite manners.

I greatly appreciated Patrick's willingness to take my call and help me out without charging me a fee to tell me the same thing in person. I will definitely call him if needed in the future.

Patrick repaired our dryer after the heat cycle stopped working. He returned our call right away and even came and fixed the appliance on a Sunday. He did a great job!

Called Patrick because my washer stopped running the rinse/spin cycles. I left a message and he called me back in about 30 minutes. After Patrick called me back he told me he could come out to my house in the afternoon and would call prior to his arrival. He called about 15 minutes before he arrived. Patrick is very friendly and professional. He quickly diagnosed the issue and reaired the issue in about 30 minutes. I would highly recommend his services and will be calling him if I have any future issues.

I got his number out of Angies List and after reading the reviews decided to give him a call. He returned my call within a few minutes. After discussing the problem he said he had to order the part and it would take about 7 days or so. Within that time he called back(without me having to call him)and said the part was in. We set up a time to repair the oven. He arrived PROMPTLY at set time! I really liked that he did what he said he would do and returned calls.

I called to inquire about dryer service and received a call back within 1 hour. He was able to come out the next day and provided a pretty accurate estimate of the cost, which was much less than the manufacturer quoted. He worked fast and even showed me how I could fix the timer, which isn't working, on my own. I will never call anyone else when it comes to appliance repairs!

He explained where we could get the part and how to install it. He offered to come do the job, but said it would cost us a lot more than the $5 part if he came out. How awesome is that? We will definitely call him again -- that kind of honesty and helpfulness is what we want in someone we work with.

I called Patrick and he returned my call in 10 minutes. He told me that he would not be able to make out to my place, b/c its a little out of his way to bring the truck so he was sorry that he could not help me, but he asked me a few questions and suggested a few possible solutions.. he gave me 15 minutes on the phone to walk me thru a possible fix... i did it myself last night and its all fixed and i save ALOT of money.. WOW.. considering i was a total stranger and i have never used him before, He was a class act and giving of his time! I would highly recommend and would use him for sure if i lived in his zone!

Extremely satisfactory experience. I called Patrick yesterday morning to say that my oven wasn't working, though my broiler and surface units were fine. He returned my call in the afternoon and arranged a time that evening when he could call and specify a time when he could be here today. He called me last night and arrived right on schedule today. He was here about 30 minutes, and that included some kind words for my elderly dog. He knew exactly what was wrong and fixed it speedily. His name is a permanent edition to my computer rolodex.

Upon looking at Angies List, I noticed the strong reviews for Appliance Service, LLC. I called the number and received a voicemail. Patrick (the owner) called me back within five minutes. I explained that my refrigerator was no longer cool, he quickly diagnosed what he thought was the problem over the phone. Patrick explained that unfortunately I was outside of his service area, luckily he was having a slow day and would be able to travel to my house and try the repair. He said he'd be there by noon and sure as can be he was at my door at 11:45. He quickly diagnosed the problems and explained what he would do to make the repairs and what the cost would be. He went about his business. Emptying the freezer, defrosting the coils, replacing the thermostat, cleaning the fan in the back, replacing the condensor motor and then making sure everything ran properly before closing everything back up and loading the freezer back up. Patrick was top notch and I would surely hire him for any future repairs. Unfortunately he is outside of my service area. If you are lucky enough to live in the South Hills of Pittsburgh you shouldn't hesitate to make Patrick @ Appliance Service LLC your first call.

He called back very quickly (and after hours) and diagnosed the issue over the phone. He suggested I wait until the temperature gage goes completely before committing to the semi-costly repair. He was honest and very helpful.

The proprietor, Patrick, is the man. He is very kind, straightforward, and arrived quickly (same day service!) and diagnosed the problem almost immediately. He then proceeded to replace the defective fan in our freezer that was causing our defrosting problems (i.e. the refrigerator could not maintain a temperature lower than 50 degrees). Within an hour Patrick had repaired our refrigerator and placed everything back into our fridge. By the evening the temperatures of our refrigerator were back to the appropriate temperatures.
