Patrick is the real deal. I appreciated his down to the facts approach i.e. no sales, just a straight presentation of "here's what's wrong; here's what it will cost to fix." That kind of candor scores high points in my book. A job well done.

Patrick answered my email within the hour and we set up service for the next day. He called and said he was running ahead of schedule and arrived soon after. Patrick was polite, professional, and finished the job within thirty minutes. I've never had a better experience with an appliance repair; I highly recommend this company.

Patrick came out and found the problem was the defroster motor - he used a hair dryer to melt all the ice that had built up in the freezer. We were not even aware of a problem with the freezer. He explained that on side by sides the refrigerator is an empty place and that all the motors, circuits were in the freezer. He melted all the ice which was not a quick task and replaced the motor. Made sure we understood that it would take from 12 to 24 hours before the refrigerator would be back to the correct temps. He was very knowledgeable and professional. I am very pleased that I got in touch with him and he made the repair.

Called Patrick on Saturday afternoon and left message. Call was returned shortly thereafter. Set up appointment for Monday morning. Patrick called 15 minutes before appointment time to let me know he was on his way, arrived on time. He was very professional, diagnosed problem quickly and replaced defective part, taking time to explain what he was doing. Tested oven and cleaned up. Patrick was knowledgeable and personable, performed good work, and charged a fair price. I will call him in the future for any appliance repairs I might need, and recommend him to anyone.

Wow - I'm impressed. Patrick is very competent, personable, efficient and professional. The digital controls on an older electric double oven stopped working, and I called Patrick about their repair/replacement. I left a message on his voice mail, and as promised in his greeting, he returned my call promptly (within a half hour). He was able to come out within a couple of days. Even before coming out, he spent time on the phone through several calls to narrow down the problem, identify model numbers, and took time to research whether parts for this older oven were still available. He explained that the problem was most likely caused by the failure of one or both of two parts - you can't really tell which until you replace one and see what happens. He came out with the replacement part which was immediately available from the distributor. When that didn't correct the problem, he ordered the other part. He kept me posted about its arrival, and scheduled to finish the repair shortly after it arrived. The second part did the trick, and I was charged only for the part used. Very satisfied customer!!! While I was hoping to have our refrigerator repaired, Patrick looked it over and and gave an honest assessment of the appliance, with a recommendation to have it replaced. It seems the compressor and thermostat are both shot on the 23+ year-old appliance and that parts alone would make it more worthwhile to get a new, more efficient model.

It was excellent experience. Patrick answered my call first thing in the morning and arrived a couple hours later. The repair was done quickly. We were very, very pleased with the knowledge and professionalism of this gentleman. We are very thankful that we found this company.

I called a lot of people but Patrick was one of the few who returned my call the same day and he was able to schedule coming in the very next day which was something I had not expected. On the day of service he called and was able to come earlier than scheduled which was great. He had everything he needed including parts and cleanup supplies for the repair. He's been in the business for a while and had a lot of great tips not only for my fridge but my other appliances. Everything was cleaned up after the repair and the fridge is running great. I'm happy with the quality of the repair and glad to meet such a nice guy.

came the next day and found little thumbtacks that were putting small holes in my clothes extremely prompt and curtious, reminded me of days long ago when service people really cared ! save yourself alot of trouble and call patrick at appliance service you will not be disappointed !

Patrick was very responsive to my initial message to him via Angie's List. Scheduled repair to be done today. He came promptly with the new part in hand as he already suspected what was wrong with the oven. The repair was made same day, unlike other service repair companies who take weeks to get an appointment, come to look at the broken appliance, order the part, wait for it to be shipped to your home, then schedule again a few more weeks out to come make the repair and charge you an astronomical amount. I will definitely use this company again.

When I called Patrick Shields at Appliance Services I got a message that he would try to call back within a half hour. Probably 15-20 minutes later he called and was able to diagnose the problem over the phone. I was impressed with this since I had called a handy man I had used for my stove a few months before and described the problem and he was unsure of how to fix it and never called back as he had promised. The problem with the refrigerator wasn't an emergency so I made an appointment with him for 10 o'clock the next day. He called early to say the job he was on before mine was going a little longer than he thought. I figured he 'd come about 11 or 12 o'clock which was o.k. with me but he pulled up at 10:15!--What a difference from other repair services where you wait all day and they don't show up at all. He unclogged the frozen drain and added a strip to heat it to try to keep the drain from freezing (a common problem with refrigerators). The job was done very quickly and efficiently. We talked as he worked and I was impressed at his knowledge of different appliances and brands. I would definitely use him again for repairs on any of my appliances and will recommend him to friends and family.

I was expecting Patrick to come to the house when we had scheduled, but he was in the area on a Sunday and called to see if we were home. It was a challenge, but it only took a few minutes and he was very friendly and professional. I also liked that he did call me back within the 30 minute time window his message stated he would.

Perfectly! Patrick came to our house on very short notice, diagnosed the problem in minutes, and had it fixed in probably 15 minutes total. He did a thorough job looking at the dryer and found two problems, and he was able to fix them very quickly. He was a real pro and a very polite man as well.

The front bar on the refrigerator had become hot to the touch because the fan wasn't working properly. He was so prompt and responsive...and helpful too as he showed me how to clean the coils (I had never known how to do it. He saved me from having to replace it (which is great because the newer models look very cheaply made. I looked!)

Patrick was great. Responded quickly to my phone call (doesn't answer the phone while on jobs--very professional), came to my place within hours, diagnosed the problem shortly, and was able to replace the part with one he had on hand. The part was a little pricey, but I think that was GE, and not him; the trip charge was reasonable, especially given the quick response. Plus, he's a really nice guy. Will call again when we have another appliance problem.

Patrick came within the 2-hour window period in which we agreed upon. Was very professional, spoke very little, worked quickly, knew our brand of oven and was able to figure out the problem within 15 minutes. An excellent experience overall.

We had a tenant contact is at 12:30am about their refrigerator not blowing cold air anymore. As they just went grocery shopping they were desperate to have it fixed immediately. The next morning at 9:30am I called Patrick and within 30 min he returned my call and asked me to provide him with item specifics to make sure he could provide service. Fortunately he could, and he also was available to go that day! He arrived at the apartment at 1:00pm and fixed the refrigerator very quickly and the food was saved, tenant happy. We were thrilled to have found Patrick and will definitely use him again!

Patrick was on time and very professional. He diagnosed the problem and offered a solution. He did not know whether or not the ice maker would be fixed because it takes time to make the ice, and that would be too long to wait. He did tell me that if it didn't work, I would need a new ice maker. He said he would be glad to order and install it, but it was very easy to get the part and install it myself. He even showed me how. I will definitely use his services again.

At work, we wash lots of patient gowns and towels every day. Recently, the washer stopped working. We called four different appliance repairmen. Patrick was the first to call us back and he was able to do the work the same day! He quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced the clutch for $165. I have no idea if that's on the high or low end of what that repair should cost. But it seemed fair. He was professional and pleasant. We would hire him again for other appliance repairs.

Patrick called back about 10 minutes after I placed a call to him. I explained the problem and he made an appointment to come out on Friday to see what the problem was. He determined it was the machine's transmission and gave me a quote on the cost to repair. He ordered the part and offered to come on Saturday to replace the part. He got the job finished very quickly and my machine works just like new. Patrick is not only knowledgable, professional,quick and efficient he is a true gentleman. I will most definitely call him again if needed.

Spoke with Patrick several times and he was very knowledgable and friendly. He tried to help us troubleshoot the problem we were having with our Kitchenaid oven. After several attempts to DIY, we called Patrick and he made time to come to our place the next morning. He called to let me know he was enroute, arrived promptly and prepared, and fixed the oven.
