Description of Work: We had previously had them update about half our closets. We invited them back to finish the rest. The consultant made clear to us what our options were and had various types of materials. The process of selection was easy. The installation was done punctually and neatly and met our every expectation.

Description of Work: The representative came to our house to take measurements. He was prompt and personable. The problem (for us) was that getting information about the project and product, how long it would take, options, etc. was like pulling teeth. He said he could do a design on the spot, but that he was having a problem with his computer. To have a design on the spot would have been nice, but frankly, I would have rather that time was spent developing a plan that would meet our needs. A design was sent via e-mail the following day, but we did not like it. It didn't make the best use of space in our closet. We opted not to pursue work by this company.

First, permit me to say that we are both very sorry for and somewhat surprised at Mrs. [Member name removed] less than glowing review. Barry, one of our most senior designers who has been with our company for 19 years, arrived on time. There was no one there to meet him. Barry called the client and was told she would be late but that her husband would be there soon. Mr. [Member name removed] did arrive shortly thereafter and he and Barry spent about half an hour going over the space, what Mr. [Member name removed] indicated he wanted in the closet and how he wanted it arranged. After Mrs. [Member name removed] arrived they further discussed the project and Barry indicated that he could do the design then and there, but that his printer was down and he would be happy to 6 end the drawings the next day. The appointment was late in the afternoon and Barry sent the customer the designs the very next morning at 9:52 a.m. Apparently there was a miscommunication between what Mrs. [Member name removed] actually wanted and what her husband told Barry he wanted and I can only surmise that that was what created the problem. I personally looked at the designs yesterday and found nothing ill advised or inappropriate in the design or the concepts; it appeared as if Barry had taken into account all of the things he had in his notes that Mr. [Member name removed] requested. I am truly sorry that Mrs. [Member name removed] did not care for the design and saw fit to rate us rather harshly. A perusal of the reviews we have received on Angie's list would clearly indicate that we do an exemplary job and that our clients think very highly of us, but obviously that opinion is not shared by Mrs. [Member name removed]. Interestingly we received a review yesterday as well from an outside auditing company that we use to monitor customer satisfaction after a job is completed and it was for a project that had been done by Barry. The customer is [Member name removed]. from Margate NJ, and I am attaching that review below, as follows, verbatim: We not only had closets, but also had an office wall unit designed and installed. Barry Lassoff's design was exceptional and it is beautiful. The closets are wonderful. Barry is personable, professional, efficient, and his expertise was invaluable. The installers were gentleman, efficient, and very professional. I love my stuff from The Closet Works. Again, I am very sorry that Mr. & Mrs. [Member name removed] did not care for the design that Barry did, but I did not want their singular opinion to reflect on his stellar career without a word in his defense from a totally satisfied customer. I would be happy to email the original review in it's entirety to any interested party.

Description of Work: Custom designed three of our closets. Two large walk-ins and one reach-in. Designer was professional, courteous, and extremely patient. She came to the house to get exact measurements. We changed our specifications numerous times, and she worked with us to get it just-right. She was very creative, recommending solutions and design alternatives. |Installer was right-on-time. Professional, courteous, amenable. Efficient -job took exactly as long as estimated. Clean and precise. Very clean - you would not have known he was ever there. |A bit on the pricey side, but WELL worth it. From first contact through installation, this is the way service providers should do business.

Description of Work: After obtaining several quotes, The Closet Works provided the most reasonable and professional quote. Barry came to our home to measure, design and quote the job. He came armed with a computer and printer so that we could see the design immediately. We told Barry that we wanted nothing fancy, just functional -- a design that would make the most of the closet dimensions, and they accomplished that. I was called the day before the work was scheduled to confirm arrival the following day. Joe arrived on time, worked quickly, and cleaned up when he was finished. I love my new closet!

I was very happy working with Gene Shvartsman. He was prompt, courteous, and friendly, and above all this he was very practical. We had received a few different quotes for closets and I was happy that Gene didn't trying to sell me on unnecessary add-ons or color options. After all, they are basically just closets and we weren't looking for anything fancy! The pieces they gave were great and they look new after 1 year of use. My only complaint is that I thought that it was going to be a complete floor mount, and while the base of shelving units was floor mounted, other sections of the unit were wall mounted. That being said, we are very happy with our closets, they are strong and designed with praticality in mind.

Description of Work: Converted sitting room in bedroom into a walk in closet. Put up 4 hanging rods, 6 drawers, shelving for clothes and shoes. They came out previously for a design consultation and knew what we were thinking and had great suggestions.

They were very professional. They cleaned up everything and I love my new laundry room. I would not hesitate to recommend them. I'm looking forward to getting my master bedroom closet done as well.
