I met with Barry, my designer at the main location. The very same day he came to the home we were living in at the time to assess what our needs would be for storing and organizing our things in our new condo. He came to our new condo on the day we closed in order to measure all of our closets and the two rooms we wanted to have built ins. He then sent us designs which we went back and forth on until we were 100% satisfied, and I must say he did a great job in planning and designing. Our closets are fantastic and I still have free shelf and storage space in spite of all we brought with us even after downsizing. We are extremely happy with the results and the company has been excellent in taking care of fine tuning issues. The only complaint we had was that we needed to prod Barry to meet our time frame restrictions, but he moved heaven and earth to make sure we got what we needed in the time frame necessary.
Description of Work: Designed and installed all my closets as well as a second bedroom that doubles as work space and guest room, and my husband's office that also doubles as a beautiful cabinet for display items and Passover dishes.

The salesman came out to measure, handed me an empty folder, said they were out of brochures, handed me a business card, not his, said he was out of business cards. That was two weeks ago still no quote...strike THREE!, they are out of a garage system! I called to follow up, no concrete answer when I will get the quote.

Overall, it went well. However, the designer stated that all of the hanging bars would be fully adjustable. This was not really true as there were fixed shelves which prevented the bars adjustments. This meant that the design, as installed, was not really workable for my clothes. It was, in essence, all short hanging. I had them come back and move the fixed shelves which then made it workable. Better communication and attention to the design needs would have prevented this issue.

Response from The Closet Works Inc
We can appreciate what this client is saying, however, it is actually a communication issue rather than anything else. In reality all hanging rods are adjustable. In a double hanging section, we typically fix the middle shelf to add stability to the unit. It is, however, often not mandatory. We could have made the center shelf adjustable so the hanging rods (and the shelf) could have been fully adjustable without using tools. Even as it was constructed, with a Phillips head screw driver and 4 half turns of the cams, the shelf could have easily been moved and then the rod would have been able to have been moved as well. We apologize for the poor communication on our part and will modify the way our designers describe the adjustability of the system in the future.

We used The Closet Works Inc to build a walk in closet for our master bedroom, and reach in closets for the the rest of the bedrooms. Also we had a small tower build in our laundry room and a small mud closet. Everything was done the way we wanted and we were very happy with final product. The installation team was great.

This was a great company to work with! The sales person, Barry, was very friendly and professional. He did some quick measurements and took about 30 mins on his computer to draw up the plans for all the closets and give me a quote right on the spot. We had a total of three companies give us estimates and Closet Works was the best. Barry had been working with the company for a long time and was very confident in both their product and service. The day of install, one guy was able to install all four closets were completed in roughly three hours. The installer cleaned up as promised and we were able to move our clothes right in. Very happy with this company and got everything as promised!

While the salesman/designer was personable, informative and came up with a good design, there were a few things that resulted in the lower overall grade. First of all, I specifically asked if the components went all the way to the floor (which was my preference as opposed to one with units that just hung on the wall). I was told that yes, the units went all to the floor, it was noted that there was not a shelf at the floor, as with other units, but yes the units did go to floor. However, when the units were installed, they did go to the floor in the center but only to the baseboards for the sections that went along the wall. I have had other closet systems installed, and know that they can deal with baseboards. So that was the first disappointment. I was also informed that they would do the removal of the current racks, patch the walls and do touch up painting if I had the paint. They did a good job removing and patching, however when they did the touch up painting, it looked worse than just the patch job. In addition they dripped paint onto the new closet system (and it was good that I saw this before I put any clothes on the shelf). The final disappointment is that the bridging pieces they put in between the units are visibly uneven. When I noted this last thing to the sales person - they brushed it off as "Yea, that happens, your walls might be uneven so that the units don't match up". Thus, overall a bit of a disappointment in the outcome.

Response from The Closet Works Inc
After reviewing this most disappointing report I spoke with the sales person who sold this particular job, as well as to our installation manager. The sales person was as surprised as I was at the negative review. If one was to examine all of the other reviews that customers have posted regarding our work, they would see that it is obviously quite important to us that our clients are very satisfied with our total performance. In this case the lack of customer satisfaction is as surprising as it it unacceptable to us. The sales person assures me that he clearly explained the reason he recommended that the side panels be cut off above the baseboard and attached to the wall. The unit is still floor supported except for the side panels that are adjacent to the walls. We could have made those panels floor standing as well, and the client is typically given the choice. In order to set those panels on the floor a portion of the base board has to be removed, or the panel has to be set off the wall and a filler strip added to avoid a space between the wall and the panel. 95% of our customers choose the first solution as it is the neatest, does not involve making a serious change to the character of the closet (i.e. removing a piece of baseboard and creating a potential problem if the client ever wants to change the design or move the unit out of the closet) and it is also the best looking alternative. I feel badly that the client in this case indicates that she either did not receive this explanation, or did not understand it as the sales person thought he had communicated it, but as a result, I will make sure that topic is discussed thoroughly at an upcoming sales meeting, and that the client can opt to have the situation rectified as described below. As to the patch job, many closet companies do not offer to patch and touch up the paint at all. However, I must insist that if it is to be done, it must be done with the same level of quality that characterizes the rest of the work. In this case it is apparent that was not the case. The installer who did this installation was written up, and it was determined by his supervisor that the level of his effort was insufficient. After reviewing his personnel file, his supervisor chose to terminate his employment this week. As to the the "bridge" shelves, there is sometimes an issue that occurs because the floors in the closet are most likely not level from one side to the other. For that reason we install leveling legs in the vertical panels that utilize a steel sleeve and a screw operated leveling pad mounted in the bottom of the vertical panels as necessary. It is apparent that this part of the installation was also not done to our standard, and this contributed to the termination of the installer. The sales person does not feel that he "brushed off " this complaint and indicated that he offered to have a service person come out and rectify the problem but that the customer told him that it was not that important and unnecessary. The client also indicates that she mentioned that she wanted a bottom shelf and a toe kick on the hanging sections. The designer told her that was no problem at all but that it would add to the expense and, the designer claims, the client at that point decided to forgo that particular option. If the client wants to add a bottom deck and toe kick to those sections it would be our pleasure to do so. All in all, the grading of our performance was a bit of a mystery to me as well. We got 1 C for price, yet the customer indicated that our price was the most competitive bid that she received. If the most competitive bid earned a C what did the other unacceptable bids deserve? If there was only 1 C, and the other 4 marks were 2 A's and 2 B's, why was the overall grade a C? Obviously her choice, but it just seems illogical. So where do we stand on all this? The designer has been asked to contact the customer, apologize for the misunderstanding regarding the vertical panels as well as the poor performance of the installer in this case. He is going to offer to have new vertical panels made and installed either removing a section of baseboard or installing them with a filler (which will make the hanging sections a bit smaller) but which will enable the panels to go all the way to the floor. He will have the service person adjust the bridge shelves between the units to her satisfaction and will also offer to redo the patching and touch up paint so that the client is completely satisfied with the installation. It is our hope that the client will allow us to come back and make the changes indicated above so that her satisfaction is complete and so that we can feel as if this job's problems were resolved in a professional way, bringing the standards up to the expectations of both the client and our own company. Of course there will be no charge for this service and we will perform it at a time convenient to the client. Our commitment to complete customer satisfaction is unwavering and this rather unusual but none the less unacceptable situation is not indicative of the overall quality of our efforts as the other reviews would seem to bear out.

The Closet Works were one of several closet vendors we asked to provide us with estimates to finish our 2 closets (nursery and guest bedroom). We showed them photos from the web of what types of closets we were interested in and they designed plans that fit the spaces perfectly with the right mix of hanging, drawer, and shelf space. From the initial estimate to emailing us a design/quote to the actual installation, Closet Works were punctual, professional, and efficient in all respects. The installation was a breeze and the experienced installer had the closets complete in barely 2 hours. Highly recommended for all the reasons described above--- as well as for the fact that their price was very reasonable.

Very well. Steve came within 7 days of my email to the company. He was courteous and professional. He listened to my needs for the closets and came up with ideas that would suit those needs. He also provided positive an negative feedback on designs. He was honest about what was best and did not try to sell me on something that wouldn't work. This company uses the same materials as others I got estimates for, but secures the closet units on the wall, rather than the floor. This would work for people that needed the floor space. Steve emailed me the specs and the prices and all the details involved. The emails were easy to understand. As far as price, the cost was comparable with the other estimates I got, only slightly higher. I would recommend this company. I did not continue with the closets because other issues arose that required finacial priority.

We had a walk in closet/room that we completely gutted and had redesigned by Closet Works. Tim Albert was the person who came out and spoke to us, did the measurements, and gave us the drawings and estimates. Tim was punctual and professional, and provided a lot of information about the quality of the product and how the installation occurs. We received our designs a few days after he visited the house along with a price quote. The timeliness of the installation was a factor in our decision, so I immediately called to ask how quickly the closet could be installed and was told it could be done the next week. (in the interim I got a quote from another company that was $300 more). The person who installed the closet came on time and did a thorough job and then cleaned up after himself. In addition, he was very friendly. We were very pleased with our experience.
Description of Work: We had an empty space converted into closets. This included a space for long hanging garments (such as dresses and long coats) and several areas for hanging shirts and folded pants. We had shelves and cubbies installed for shoes. There was also several pull out tie/belt hangers installed.

I contacted the company and very quickly had an appointment set up with Steve the salesman. Steve was very helpful and had great suggestions. He was not at all pushy and actually dissuaded me from making certain choices that would add expense without much benefit to me. He took measurements and promised me drawings by the next day. The drawings arrived timely by email and after a few minor tweaks we were in business. Installation was scheduled for a couple of weeks later. The installers were punctual, polite, neat, and just a pleasure to deal with. Altogether it was a great experience and I love my new closets.
Description of Work: Closet systems for 12 ft master bedroom closet plus three 6 ft bedroom closets, all reach-ins. Job included removal of old closet organizers and removal of debris. I opted for backs on all of the units which increased the cost about 50 percent, but that was my choice.

Everything went smooth from the sales meeting at our house, the designs were sent on time, we visited the showroom and signed the documents. It took a couple of weeks to build the units and install.
Description of Work: We hired David to install closet systems in two walk in closets and a coat closet. David provided us with drawings of all of the closets and his designs were great! We visited his showroom to select colors and look at the sample closet systems he has in his showroom. The installers were neat, punctual and did a great job. The quality of the closets is great, the edge banding is thick and will resist damage. The wood is heavy enough to handle many, many years of service. We were living with the builders wire shelving for 10 years and we should have done this years ago! I love walking into my closet now and there is a spot for everything. Yes, it's not a inexpensive and the home depot shelves you can do yourselves but these will last way longer, improve the resale price of your house and look like customer furniture. I would highly recommend David and his staff; we are looking forward to doing more projects with him. In fact my parents hired David for their new home and a friend hired him for his house already!

Overall an excellent experience from start to finish. The designer had great ideas and used the space very well. Was able to anticipate our needs based on our existing clothing and accessories for the closets. For the office was able to customize it exactly as we wanted based on the room and our needs. The installation was fast, professional and of excellent quality. The company went above and beyond to make sure we got what we wanted. We are very happy with the results. We put N/A for the price because we did not get any other quotes to be able to compare what we paid. They had such great other reviews on Angie's list that we didn't feel necessary to look at other companies. We are happy with what we got for the price.

We were on the hunt for a good closet organization company for 4 of our closets - 2 walk in closets and 2 regular reach in closets. We got estimates (in person) from 3 different people (these guys, Closets by Design, and Closet & Storage Concepts) and decided on Closet Works. Their estimate was among the best in price, and they all offered similar warranties and guarantees on their products. We also liked that the product sat on the floor (vs. hung from the wall) for stability, and the designer who came and quoted us (Barry) was extremely nice and helpful and not at ALL pushy!! (We are both in sales by profession so pushy salespeople really get under our skin.) We loved the design he came up with, and 4 weeks later (yesterday), we had another friendly installer out to put everything in. In short, it all looks GREAT! Our closet is super organized and we are really happy we went with them. Thank you to Angie's List for this recommendation (wouldn't have found them without) and I wanted to pay it forward by writing about our good experience as well! Thank you, Closet Works!

I had a positive experience with them. It was just where it needed to go. It needed to be custom. We couldn’t find anything that would fit in the space that we needed. This was our second thing that we did with them, and it went very well. Their responsiveness from one department was excellent and from another department it was not excellent. The installers were extremely good. They did a great job. They were very responsive. The sales people who answered the phone were not so much good. To be honest, they were supposed to quote me on something else I wanted done. It has been over 2 weeks and nobody has called yet.

I spent $1275 on that service. I found them originally on the list. They have many branches and I used the one in Pipersville. I liked their workmanship a lot. At first the guy came out and we discussed what I wanted and he gave me ideas how he thought the space would be best used based on what I wanted. He then gave me actual drawings of what he going to put in and how it would look in the end and I approved it. He came back with some workers and the whole job was completed in one day and I am super happy with it. He was also friendly and professional. I did not really compare the prices because this company seemed to be the most highly recommended and I thought that it was a fair price.
