They are a big national chain. It was pretty good and they did what they said they were going to do super-quickly; which was nice. They left a little bit of a mess, but I think it was unavoidable mess.

Called them at 9 am. They could have been there by 10 but I could not be there till 1130, when they showed up exactly on time. The benefit was clearly that they do this over and over and nothing but this, so they were efficient, fast, and done.

I like how i do not have to wait long for an appoinment. Called about 2pm and appointment was set for the next morning. Worker called to tell me he was on his way.I like he had the parts needed on the truck for the repairs. Normally I give a B for pricing so this is my first A - comparing to the big box on waterheater - i'm not filling out two reviews so i kinda combine them. Now I have to find an AC co.
Description of Work: As a landlord this month has been busy with repairs but I realize using a quality company makes a big difference. I did not know Mr. Waterhear did plumbing, but I thought I would ask bc two weeks earlier i had a water heater installed at another property and the installer seem knowledgeable about plumbing so I called Mr. waterheater to find out if they could handle the repair. I use another plumbing co earlier bc of a big deal coupon for low water pressure, the problem was solved for a couple of hours. Mr. waterheater fixed the problem and the tenants are saying it is a big difference.

Overall, it was a great experience. From start to completion, everyone was talked with was responsive and professional. We will call them.. in 10 or so years!
Description of Work: Two days before leaving for a business trip, we arrived home to discover rusty, sludgy water leaking from the bottom of the water heater. Off to Angie's List! After reading the reviews, we decided to call Mr. Waterheater. While we was concerned somewhat with their "no emergency service" policy as indicated on Angie's List, we weren't going to die without hot water. I called, presumably to leave a message after 6PM, but was pleasantly surprised with an answering service. After explaining the problem, the service indicated a representative from the company would call shortly. We knew from reading the reviews to have the model and serial number of the existing unit ready. Within 10 minutes, we were called by Mr. Waterheater. She took the information and said she would call about 8:30AM the following morning to give us an approximate arrival time. As promised, next morning at 8:30 she called us at work to tell us when the service truck was scheduled, 10:30AM. My husband asked that the repairman call when he was about 30 minutes away from the house so my husband could leave work to meet him, and at 10AM he called per request. Mr. Waterheater arrived, determined that yes, our water heater was dead, replaced it and was out of there in less than two hours. When asked why the water unit failed so soon (~ 8 years old), the repairman told us it was due to the water softener, or rather the salt used in the water softener.

The technician was very impersonal but did the job. When he left, I noticed that he cut my linolium floor to get to a drain. He did not even ask me if that was okay. He just went and did it without asking permission! I am very irate. My floor is ruined and now the cover to the drain is a hazard. It flips if you step on it. Also, I was told he would put the used heater in the box...he did not do that.....he put garbage in the box and left it. I am very unhappy with the job in whole.
Description of Work: The technician called prior to coming and arrived in the time frame given. He removed the existing water heater and replaced with a new one. This took approximately one hour.

Response from Mr. Waterheater
The owner spoke to the technician who installed your water heater on Tuesday. The floor drain cover that was there had the linoleum cut out where the floor drain was existing. The floor drain was covered with linoleum and had holes cut out to match the holes in the drain cover. The floor drain cover was just lifted up by our installer to insert the hose to drain the water heater and minimize the mess. As far as the water heater box...we usually leave it at the jobsite. We do many water heaters each day, and we do not have space back at our warehouse for all the water heater boxes. Local trash collectors will take it, but if there is any problem with that, we will stop back and pick up the box. Sorry for any inconvenience. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact our main office at 412-823-6000.

I called around 9am to ask them to come check my leaky water heater. They were able to get someone out to my house that afternoon. As soon as he saw the heater (which was 16 years old) he told me that it needed to be replaced. He had a new heater on the truck and replaced mine, including some rusted piping, in under an hour and a half. The 40 gallon tank only cost $495 including the labor for the installation and they charged $10 to haul away my old tank. The service man was polite and professional. Great price and great service.

I noticed water on the floor by the water heater this morning. I looked at my records and realized the one I had was out of waranty and probably on it's last leg. After I took the kids to school I came home and called Mr. Waterheater. She said a repairman could be at my house in less than an hour, and he was. He asked me if I wanted the old copper gas line replaced with stainless steel for $40, so I agreed. I am always one for keeping up with plumbing codes and safety issues. In under an hour the work was completed by two very nice, professional repairmen. They were courteous with using tarps and wiping their feet, and they cleaned up thoroughly and took all their equipment with them. I was pleased.

I called Mr. Waterheater on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012 for a new water heater. I had determined on the previous evening that I had a gas leak and was unable to turn off the gas valve. I also had a reading on the CO detectors. I was told that they would be out that morning and received a return call shortly advising me of the exact time of arrival. Bob and Jake arrived with about an hour after my initial call, and replaced the heater as well as the stuck valve. It couldn't have been better. The new water heater had the water hot within an hour, and the CO detector readings went back down.
Description of Work: Removed old water heater, expansion valve and and gas valve. Installed new 40 gallon water heater with 10 year parts, 1 year labor warranty. Tested for gas leaks and proper exhaust. Instructed me on use and care of new equipment. Cleaned up everything and hauled away old parts.

I was disssatisfied because there were no attempts on her part to help me with my issues. Additionally, this company should identify the specific models they check or repair in their advertisements.
Description of Work: On Sunday, I noticed droplets of water falling from the ceiling in the basement. The next day on Monday, we had no hot water. I called Mr. Waterheater about my problems. The woman I spoke to informed me that before they could help me, I needed to call them back with the name of the water heater, the serial numbers, and the product codes. When I asked her why I needed to secure all this information, she stated that they only had the parts available for some models. When I explained that I was not at home, she instructed me to contact them after I had secured the desired information. I thanked her and then hung up.

Response from Mr. Waterheater
When Mr. Waterheater is asked to make a repair on a water heater, we will usually try to get a brand name as well as a model and serial number. We do this for a few different reasons...to make sure we have the parts to make the repair, and verify it is not under warranty through another company. We prefer to have the parts to make the repair with us, rather than drive around, searching for parts. This is done to help our company run more efficiently. This avoids wasting our time and the customers' time, and it SAVES THE CUSTOMER MONEY! Since water heater companies have been making the "new style" flammable vapor ignition resistant water heaters since July 2003, parts are not as universal as they once were. Each brand of water heater has its own parts, and most are not interchangeable. Furthermore, some Whirlpool water heaters are part of a national recall. These parts are only available through the manufacturer. We stock a lot of parts for many different types of water heaters, Rheem, Ruud, Richmond, GE, Bradford White, A.O. Smith, State, Reliance, American, Craftmaster, but we do not have them all. With over 30 years of repairing and replacing water heaters, Mr. Waterheater has worked hard to run as efficiently as possible. This has enabled us to provide top quality service at the lowest price possible. I am sorry we did not satisfy you, but we were making an attempt to resolve your problem at the lowest possible price.

I previously had another company out who told me I would need to have a thermal expansion tank installed on the water heater. After this company came, they left me with a sheet that gave me recommended services to be performed and it was left blank, and was told nothing needed to be done with the water heater. He told me I wouldn't need a thermal expansion tank and it was reflected in the blank box under recommended services. Since the time that this company came to my house the area around the water heater has been wet, so I called another plumber who told me I definitely needed a thermal expansion tank and installed it for me. I would not call this company again.

MR. WATERHEATER quoted us a price within a short period of time, within the first 15 minutes. He did not have the exact water heater with him. He gave us the option to replace the exact water heater but he had to go and get it. He returned within 30 to 45 minutes and had the water heater replaced an hour later. It was done in the timely manner. He was very efficient and professional. They honored the price they quoted. I feel you can't expect much more from a company such as this.

The service person arrived within the 2-hour window, and called before he showed up. In addition to replacing the water heater, he installed the required flexible gas line, inspected all the piping in the area and checked the water pressure coming into the house. He recommended we install a regulator to reduce the pressure and explained why doing so was a good idea (appliances like dishwashers and icemakers are designed to operate within specific ranges of water pressure). He even gave us an idea what it ought to cost, although they don't do that kind of work. All in all, we were very pleased. The price was good, the work done quickly and neatly, and the service person was intelligent and helpful.
Description of Work: Our old water heater was leaking, so we got several quotes to install a replacement and have the old tank hauled away. Mr. Waterheater beat the competition by at least $100, so we had them do the job.

The people working for Mr. Waterheater of Westmoreland were excellent from start to finish, just excellent. It all began when Vona called to inquire about their water heaters after reading detailed information about their products on their web site. The person Vona talked to was polite, respectful, articulate and helpful in every way. So helpful in fact, we ordered the water heater, over the phone, right then and there. Vona loves to check more than one store before making a buying decision of any product or service so prior to calling Mr. Waterheater of Westmoreland, we check out Home Depot and Lowe's. We then went to Sears to check out their water heaters. After looking at what Sears offered, Vona seemed disappointed. I looked at her and asked her; 'you like what Mr. Waterheater's has to offer better than the others?' She said yes. While still in the Sear waterheater department we called Mr. Waterheater of Westmoreland and ordered our waterheater from them last evening around 6 PM. I thought we would have to wait a couple of days for them to come and install it but that was not the case. They were able to provide us with fast service. As promised, Mr. Waterheater showed up at our door this morning promptly at 8:30 AM, just as they said they would. And they also called in advance to make sure we were home. Justin and Geremy who came to install our waterheater were two of the most professional, courteous, friendly, knowledgeable and respectful installers I have ever encountered. Justin and Germey knew what they were doing and got to work immediately,. A little over an hour later the job was finished. Mr. Waterheater of Westmoreland exceeded our expectations in every way. I highly recommend Mr. Waterheater of Westmoreland to people looking to have their water heaters replaced. They also do electrical and plumbing work. I have no doubt the next time we require an electrician or plumber they will be the very first people we call.

Mr. Waterheater called about 30 minutes before the 2:00 PM scheduled arrival time. They arrived about 20 minutes early. The two employees from Mr. Waterheater that arrived at my residence were very pleasant and polite, answering every question that I asked throughout the installation. One of the men acted as an assistant or apprentice to the other who handled the actual removal of the 10 year old leaking 50 gallon hot water heater and installation of the new 50 gallon hot water heater. After a quick survey of the defective hot water heating, plumbing and duct work, the one employee immediately went to work. Water and gas was shut off to the old, defective water heater. The old water heater was drained. The hot and cold copper piping to the water heater was cut and the gas line disconnected in quick order. The old power vent duct work was cut and removed. The old hot water tank was then removed from the premises. The new water heater was brought into the house. New copper tubing was cut and tubing/fittings soldered into place to connect the new water heater to the house plumbing. New power vent ducting was installed through my concrete block to the outside. Furnace puddy was used to seal the inside and outside of the concrete block. The water supply was turned on pressurizing the new tank and allowing it to be filled and the hot water piping throughout the house vented of air. All tubing was checked for leaks; none were found. The gas line to the new water heater was then installed and checked for leaks; none were found. The unit was then plugged in and set to 130F. The men then cleaned up, removed all tools and supplies, and removed the old hot water heater from the premises. I paid the employees with a personal check and the two employees left at around 3:30 PM with a very happy customer; the water heater works perfectly. The box that the new water heater came in was left on the premises and was disposed of three days later with the normal garbage pick up. I definitely recommend this company to everyone and will call them again in another 10 years when the new hot water heater wears out.

In addition to replacing the waterheater, they tested the water pressure and showed me that it was high, indicating the pressure regulator had worn out (it also was 11 years old.) With my okay they replaced it also. At all times Glenn and Neil sowed professionalism, courteousness, willingness to answer my questions and cleaned up after the job. Would definitely hire them again.
Description of Work: Needed a new waterheater after 11 years with this one. Called at 8:30 in the morning and was told they would be out early afternoon. They called me back around 11:30, and said they would be there at noon. Arrived on time, brought in the new waterheater, removed the old and installed promptly and neatly.
