I could not get an appointment for 2 months but then Handyman Matters called and were able to get me in after about 1 month. The person arrived on time and went with me to purchase the materials required for my three projects as I do not own a truck. He was very knowledgeable about the projects. He worked steadily until the projects were completed. He had to cut hinges into the doors and replace the frames. The cost of the materials was approximately $330 and I paid $587 to Handyman Matters for labor. I would use them again but the wait time was long and it is expensive. However, if you cannot so repairs yourself, they are a good option. I have used them before and will use again.

Found other problems. Going to get estimates for complete bathroom remodel.

I am giving this low rating because they were not willing to pay a visit to my home to inspect the job for which they were quoting. I provided one picture to them via email, and they responded with details that included their hourly rates, service charges, and options for the purchase of materials. Without visual inspection of the job site, how can anyone anticipate the scope of work needed? This was a small job, but I know from past experience that small jobs can morph into large ones quickly if all things are not considered from the start. Other contractors were willing to pay a visit to properly quote and estimate; I am moving forward with one of them.

Pat arrived right on time. He is a very pleasant and knowledgeable person. He went over all the task that I wanted completed and then finished them up one right after the other. He also did a great job of cleaning up after he completed the jobs. I look forward to having him out again for all our handyman needs. I would highly recommend Handyman Matters to anyone who either does not have the skills or time to do it themselves.

Awesome. My tech was on time. He trouble shot my light switch and explained to me that I needed a new switch. After giving him my approval to replace the switch he installed a new one.

Over two days power washed and stained a set of wooden steps in the backyard. Was pleasantly surprised how nice the steps turned out. Everything went very well.

I just spoke to the receptionist at this company to inquire about overall time and pricing for tile flooring on a small upstairs bathroom and she informed me after speaking together about the project that it would cost about $1700.00!!!!!!!! Unbelievably high cost for the actual work that needed to be done. I was stunned! They were almost $1200.00 over the average quote of many others. I will never refer this company to anyone. Save your money and keep looking

I was recently widowed and my late husband did all work around our home. I needed help, I contacted Handyman Matters, South. The garage ceiling was a difficult job due to overhead electrical wires needing dropped and reconnected, cable and garage door opener mount and rails to work around. The men were punctual, courteous, and knowledgeable. The jobs were completed in a timely, professional manner and the work area swept clean. I will definitely hire this company again.

Great! Very professional. The tiles look so nice, and the doors open and close as they should. Suggested how to fix a small crack in the ceiling that I can fix.

Project completed early and to a high degree of satisfaction

The technician's name was Pat. I remodeled a bathroom with another company, which I fired for poor workmanship and undependability. The contractor left the walls and ceiling rough and unfinished as well as leaving the trim boards inproperly installed and other detail work undone. Pat, the painter from Handyman Matters, spent a half day repairing and smoothing the damaged walls and ceiling, correctly attaching the trim boards and other detail work, and preparing the walls for paint. He came back on the second date to paint the walls and ceiling and performed other minor trim work. Pat arrived on time both days, and was professional and courteous at all times. He advised me on types of paint as well as issues with metal trim, which I apparently have on my door trim and hinges. The door trim and hinges are a single unit rather than having hinges screwed into the frame behind the trim. The reason we reviewed this was because the hinges had been painted. I really don’t understand why anyone ever paints hinges but this was terrible work to boot. As the hinges could not be removed and replaced Pat refinished them nicely. The work was completed and the bathroom looks new. $774 might seem high for painting a bathroom, but Pat did much more than that. Because of the poor condition of the walls and ceiling, as well as other detail work and finishing work that needed to be done, painting was only the end point of much other detailed and laborious work. A better description might be that he saved my entire project from being a disaster due to the previous contractor. I will not hesitate to call this company when I need work done.

The contractor (Pat) showed up right at 8:00 am and I showed him which doors were sticking and which ones needed to be trimmed. He got straight to work measuring and cutting the trim. He was very efficient, professional and completed the work better than we could have expected. We were blocked off for two days of work but Pat completed the job in less than eight hours. We highly recommend them and are already putting together another to-to list.

Pat was punctual and professional. He worked straight through to completion. The installation is perfect!

David arrived at the scheduled time and reviewed the work needed. Originally, I thought the window would have to be removed to correct the direction water drained on the sill, but he was able to remove the sill and install the trim kit without removing the window. He caulked the window and shower area except for where the shower wall meets the tub. David stated that since I intended to have the tub refinished, caulking this are now would interfere with the refinishing and the refinisher would caulk this area as part of that job. Davie was able to locate the stud for the grab bar, which the prior company had not marked and I had trouble locating. This provided a much more secure installation than using the mounting hardware for hollow walls, which I originally thought we needed. He also installed the wall cabinet and toilet paper holder in the locations I wanted, locating the stud for a stronger installation. I emphasize finding the studs because I have plaster walls and the studs can be difficult to locate. Taking the time and trouble to locate them rather than using hollow wall anchors showed attention to detail and workmanship that is the difference between quality installation and merely doing the minimum to get done. He then sealed the floor tile last. It all looks good and functions well.

It went well. I would only ask for more clean up as part of the job (sweeping up, taking down trash, etc.).

Outstanding! Doug [Last Name Removed].was prompt. He had all the tools that were needed, and wasted no time grinding/sawing off the old bolts, re-drilling and re-assembling the wood base, affixing all the hardware, and installing the new larger/lockable mail box. The whole process took less than an hour, so we asked him to climb a ladder and remove some old hardware from the back wall of our house. Everything was installed perfectly, and left neat and clean. I know it sounds silly to "rave" about such an easy, inexpensive job for a handyman, but I did not have the tools to do it, and now I know who I can trust and call on in the future. From our direct observation, we can attest that Doug is an extremely proficient, polite, and knowledgeable "crafts-person," and I would ask for him again.

Awesome! I got a call when the handyman was on the way, when he was wrapping up (I was at work nearby) and was very friendly and professional. I would certainly use them again.

They were very responsive to my initial inquiry and were prompt to the appointment to look at the work I wanted done. I ended up not hiring them since they wouldn't give me a set price for anything and wanted to add a 30% surcharge to any materials that needed to be purchased for the jobs. While I would have only had to commit to 1 hour of work to see how quickly they worked, I was not comfortable with the open ended structure and not knowing the final project cost.
