We paid a deposit of $1500.00. It was in the cancellation contract that if we cancelled within the 3 days allotted, the deposit would be given back within 10 days. We have contacted the company on several occasions asking for the deposit back. The last contact was on January 30th. The secretary of the company stated that our check was already mailed. We still haven't received it and now their phones are disconnected. UPDATE: We were able to reach the Felser secretary later in the afternoon; apparently they were having trouble with their phone lines in the morning. We demanded our refund immediately, at which point the secretary became very rude, said "I'm not dealing with you people anymore" and thankfully put us in touch with the owner of the company. He called back immediately, apologized for the oversight, and got us a refund check the next day. We were very relieved and appreciative of how quickly the owner made things right for us. But we still would not consider using this company in the future based on our experience with the sales and secretarial staff.

I am putting a new addition on my house and doing much of the work myself with the help and guidance of a good friend of mine who is a contractor. I have contracted a few crews to do a couple of the jobs that I can not. One of the main jobs I contracted was the roof. First, I should say the price for my new roof was good and the work appears (to myself and my contractor friend) to be pretty good quality. The crew was also friendly. There were some problems, however. For one thing, the communication with the company was poor. I was told by several people that the work would start almost four weeks earlier than it finally did. I understand that roofing depends upon the vagaries of the weather and that sometimes causes delays. It wasn't a huge problem that they started late, but by the final week there was a little bit of leaking in the new roof that I had sheathed and put felt paper on and I didn't want to do any more work inside until that was taken care of. In that time, I never heard from the company about any delays or new start dates. I think I was very patient, but finally, wanting to find out when/if my roof was on the schedule I called about 5 times before anyone could tell me what was going on--after I threatened to write on Angie's list. Personally, I feel that if a contractor has scheduled a job a month later that they originally told the customer common courtesy would dictate that they inform that customer. As I said, that never happened. Next there were serious problems about the old roof removal. I have limited flat space in my yard so necessity required that the dumpster would need to go in the middle of the driveway in front of the garage. I have no problem with that but, unfortunately for me, I also have a gravel driveway with 12 tons of gravel, recently dumped and graded. No tarp was put down around the the dumpster and subsequently there were/are roofing nails everywhere. I know they had a magnet at one point but everyday I went over the area around the dumpster myself with a $30 magnet I had to buy. (On the back deck, where they were easy to pick up, I removed 62 nails with that magnet after they finished.) Around the dumpster I have found several hundred (I have pictures that I can offer as evidence) and I am not confident that I've gotten them all. Before I move my cars into the garage, I will have raked and swept with a magnet every square foot of my gravel driveway. I've found nails even in places relatively far from the house and the dumpster. In my "free time" I've spent probably 10 hours so far picking up nails, with several more hours necessary before i'll feel (relatively) okay about driving on it. (Each time I go out there I still find nails!) My own time, and the purchase of the magnet from Amazon, should be factored into the final price--we'll see if tires will need to be added at some point in the future too. Additionally, the dumpster in my driveway was used to collect removed material from another house somewhere else. The day I paid for my job, a pickup with a full bed of material was brought in and transferred into the dumpster. A significant quantity of nails I've found in my driveway were not even from my own roof! All told, the dumpster was in my driveway for a full week after my job was completed filled to the brim with shingles and wood from my job AND somebody else's. Again I was told one thing about when the dumpster would be removed and that proved not to be correct and until I called the company to complain, no one let me know anything about it. Like I said, the work and the price were good, but one way or another I'll be paying for it for awhile still before it's all over. Update: I will update with photos from the driveway-- 272 total nails = more than satisfactory?

Contracted with vendor on 09/18/14, and made a 10% down payment. Was told at the time that they were extremely busy, but was assured that installation would be done before severe cold weather. (I did not want a winter installation and having dealt with this contractor on two previous occasions without any problems, I accepted his promise) I was contacted on 10/24 by the crew that was to do my house and told that they would start on 10/29. However, due to delay at prior job and some rainy weather they did not start until 11/03. A two man crew arrived on that day with a third person joining the following day. They nearly finished on the second day, but had to stop due to darkness. Two cold and rainy days intervened; so they were not able to finish the job until Friday 11/07/14. I was not able to be home that day; so could not pay the balance due on completion. The crew chief called re payment and we agreed that he would stop by on the following Monday for my check. Everything went well except that it was dragged out a bit before it was finished, but some of that due to inclement weather.

They replaced our cedar siding with vinyl cedar shake siding. The workers were professional and did an excellent job. We have received many compliments on our siding.

Representative was prompt, knowledgeable and forthright about possible additional cost involved in unseen repairs. Crew was great. Worked all day-every day till job was done. Nice job cleaning up...all nice, friendly guys. Had to wait over a month for them to get started but I didn't care, all I wanted was a job well done and I got it.

The salesman and estimator were very prompt and professional in reviewing and explaining the project. The company was very accommodating to our installation schedule and started the work in the time frame that we requested and agreed to support. The removal and installation was complicated but was done very methodically and with meticulous precision. Each aspect of the work was discussed with us. The 'original siding' was removed from one side or portion of the house; and then the insulating board and wrap was added to the exposed area. Then the new siding was measured and added to the building. Each day the removal and installation was accomplished with little impact on our schedule of activities. The installer was always punctual, polite and professional. As the completion of the job grew closer, the installer made sure that we were satisfied with the work and reviewed the areas that we had identified as concerns before the project was initiated. The installer had been cleaning up each day before he left and made a thorough inspection of the property before packing up and closing the work.

I was called the week before and given the date they would start and the time. On that date the two member crew arrived at my house right on time. They told me it would take two days. They arrived promptly on both days. The two men (Anthony and a helper) did an excellent job. They worked hard and were very experienced and professional. They finished the job in two days just like they said they would. Each day I came home and they had removed all the trash from the work and cleaned up each place they were working at. They covered my floors before starting the work so my floors did not get damaged. I would recommend this company to anyone looking to have windows replaced. Very professional, hard workers and extremely pleasant to have in your home.

Company did a great job not only of installing the roof, but cleaning up afterwards. The crew that installed the roof was very professional, cordial, and did an excellent job and our new roof looks great. Price was very reasonable and the roof was installed as soon as weather permitted.

Everything went great, just like Mitch said it would. The crew arrived and worked for about 8 days and it looks fantastic. We definitely would use Felser in the future. Well done guys.

This is the second time I have used them. They previously installed windows on second floor and a side door. I like the quality of products. I had no issues with initial service so I never even considered another company to replace the first windows. They were prompt and pleasant to work with. Very neat.

What an amazing company to deal with! When I first contacted them via their website, they responded almost immediately to set up a free estimate. Mitch came out to do the estimate. He was very friendly and made sure to go over all of the details. He told me of the contract, financing options, and answered all of my questions in full. He was very professional and open about everything up front. The expectation set was it would be a few weeks before they could start the job, which was fine and not a problem. A week after I had signed the agreement the foreman contacted me to tell me they would be out to start the job that week, which was faster than I expected. The crew was there on time, and had my roof done in a minimal amount of time. When I met with Billy, the foreman, at the end of the day to sign my completion paperwork, he and the rest of the roofing crew were very friendly. He explained in detail what they had done and gave me information on how the job went and all of the details that I needed to know. The items I didn't understand (as I have never had a roof done) he stopped and took the time to explain them to me. The crew not only did an awesome job on my roof, but they made sure every spec of mess was cleaned up as well as returning any items they had to move during the working process. This was the best experience I have ever had with a contractor. I will definitely be using Richard Felser Company in the future for my home contracting needs.

The company sent qualified personnel. They were knowledgeable, friendly, very polite and courteous . Work started as scheduled and completed in the time frame specified in the contract agreement. They were very careful in repositioning all furniture and plants on both the front and back porch area. Cleanup was done on a daily basis, and all old materials were taken away. While they were here I asked if they could check on some aluminum siding that was pulling away from the house. They looked at the affected area and they corrected the problem with no extra charge. I have a very old house and in the last 5 years I have used this Company for such things as front and rear doors, storm doors, and windows. I keep going back because I know they are dependable, reasonable, and I can count on a complete and finished job that satisfies me. Good job Felser Company.

I have absolutely no complaints from the time the sales person came in to the time they finished it. Everybody was just friendly and helpful and answered any questions we had. They did a wonderful job. They did a great job for us.

Went far beyond the call of duty, did a wonderful job.

From my first call to the company until the job was completed, everyone was polite, friendly, and professional. The crew worked quietly (at least as quietly as possible for a roofing project) and diligently. The job was started sooner than expected and was completed faster than expected, all the time with great communication. I would (and already have) highly recommended Richard Felser, Inc. My thanks to them for a job well done.

It turned out well. It turned out the way it should and today that's a big deal when you have a bunch of problems. I didn't have any problems with them. It took a long time because he warned me that it would take a while. I don't remember when I bought it but I know it was a good 3 months before they even got back with me about the awning and stuff being done, it was a long period but that's okay because he told me it would be. When I called, they always call back.

They did an excellent job. They came rain or shine. They had a situation that came up that they weren't able to make it one day, but they came out immediately the next day. They were polite and professional. They work hard and took minimal amount of breaks.

Was Terrible. Work was sub'd out to Brian Hubert in New Brighton. They were young kids that did the job so bad, we had to contact Felser to have the work redone a second time. The Brian Hubert "Team" was fist fighting in the driveway. When we went into the attic, our attic fan was hanging down in mid air with the fan still running. When they left for the last time, they also took our radio from our porch and an extendable metal ladder of ours with them. After meeting with Felser many times and finally threatening them, with a lawsuit (we had a binder full of pictures of what was wrong), they had other subcontractors come in from Pittsburgh to do the jobs over. They were much better but we feel we should not have had to go through this at all. Richard Felser will NEVER hear from us again. At the same time we also heard from people a couple of miles from us, they were having the same trouble which got resolved only when he threatened to go to Channel 11 news.

First was the windows, we had this company many years ago do the same work of window replacement. And had 2 different experiences . This time around they didn't do nearly the same workmanship as the first time . Siding was a better experience all though we were told that this company did not sup out jobs. We did find out that it did from the man installing the siding . Would we ever need to have window or siding done in the future . I will go with a different company.

The job went extremly well. I have used Felser in the past for a roof and was very happy with the quality of their work. So I called them for siding for my home and garage. Once again the salesman was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I had gotten other bids and Richard Felsers bid wasnt the highest or the lowest. The siding installers were great. They took care of all the details and my house looks like a "NEW HOUSE". They took care to not trample all the plants recently planted around my home. The job was done just as stated in the contract. I couldn't be happier with the job Richard Felser did on my home and would recommend them to all my family & friends.

I ordered new repalcement windows for my home and garage. The initial meeting was quick and easy. The appointment was given quickly by the office and the sales person arrived on time and prepared. The new windows were ordered and came in on the time frame specified. I was able to schedule the work to be done quickly and on my timeframe. The installers arrived on time and were very polite and prepared. the crew was very clean and respectful of my home with the work they needed to do inside. The installers seemed very effecient and didn't waste alot of time taking breaks or talking. This is very important to me as I needed to miss work part of the day but was able to return half day due to their effeciency and expertise. Overall this experiece with Richard Felser Company went .

The guy from Richard Felser is not crazy about his windows because they are breaking all the time. They charge you a service fee to fix it and they’re coming to fix it but they’re breaking all the time which I am not happy with.

Due to my unfortunate situation a lot of roofers came and tried to take advantage of me. Felser did not. The salesman Mitchell came in and gave me a few options and let me pick what made sense to me. Overall the job went really well. They showed up every day. They worked all day and cleaned up before they left. The job went as smooth as I hoped for and the finish product was beautiful. They did everything they said the would do. I couldn't be happier. I used Felser back in 2000 to install 30 windows in the same house which by the way still look and function great so I kind of figured it was going to be a smooth project. I would refer them to anyone.

On 5/17 I phoned for an estimate on residing my entire home. An appointment was made for the 22nd with Mitch for the estimate. A confirmation call was recieved on my answering machine on the 21st. I returned the call the morning of the 22nd to reconfirm the 11am appointment. At 1:30pm, I phoned the office to report that there was a no show or courtesy phone call from Mitch. My response was to cancell all further contact with this company due to lack of a reason why the estimator did not respond

I was a little annoyed that they weren't putting as much insulation inside the windows as they were supposed to. I felt they were trying to get away with something. I think you should do your homework and compare people.
