Grimes Interiors

We have a cedar chest that is over 100 years old. The boards on top of the chest were damaged and it needed to be refinished. The damaged boards were replaced with similar wood and the whole chest was refinished. Outside was sanded and stained and inside was completed sanded. The chest is absolutely beautiful and we are extremely happy with the work done.

Dwayne Grimes came to look at the cedar chests and provided an assessment of their age, quality and process to restore them. He told us exactly what would be done, how long it would take, and the cost. After deciding to have the work done, Dwayne and a worker came to pick up the furniture. Within a week or so of how long he said it would take, we were called to schedule a delivery date. The chests were delivered as scheduled by Dwayne and another worker. The chests look like new. All defects and imperfections were removed, wood finish was restored, fine detail work was brought back to original look. We could not be more pleased. Well worth the cost.

I found his work to be excellent and the price is just. He re-fished some chairs and tables and they look great. They were very accommodating when I used them. Overall, I was very satisfied.

Dwayne was very helpful and knowledgeable. He is very detailed and took the extra time to make sure everything was as good as can be. He addressed and fixed all our issues and we were happy with our experience.

Excellent. Dwayne was extremely knowledgeable and understood that we were wanting to make one last attempt to repair a family heirloom dining room table that has been broken several times and not adequately repaired. He really seems to know his stuff. After examining the table, he developed a strategy for repair and then thoroughly explained the process and why this fix would be the last. The work was done on-time and as-promised. They even did some extra reinforcing of the base of the table to insure that it will not break again. We would definitely use them again for furniture repair.

it took 5 weeks but the end results was worth the wait they did a beautiful job on the the table looks better than new. plus we had a couple of marks on the legs of the table that they were nt refinishing and they were kind enough to touchup marks at no additional cost.the gentleman we dealt with was very friendly and professional

He was very professional. He gave me a window of 10 to 12 to come. He was running a little late. So he called me to let me know that he was running late. He was only late by 10 minutes. He was easy to talk to. He gave me all the information that I needed to make a decision. He was very nice. He explained the process and what they do and why they do it that way. He told me that a lot of times they are a higher estimate than what other people would give. But he went over the different steps and the reasons why that was the case. He told me how they always come to pick up the item and they wrap it. They make sure not to damage the item. They deliver it back. He also gave me the amount of time that it would to get the furniture piece finished. He also gave me a heads up on when they are at their busiest so that I know that when I making my decision. The quote amount was about $890.

He comes to my house, gives an estimate, takes them, refinishes them, and after six weeks, brings them back. He does superior work and I am extremely pleased with him. He is knowledgeable and he does what he says he is going to do and it turns out wonderful.

They did a wonderful job on both chairs but the antique chair is just gorgeous. We are so pleased and although I did not get any other quotes, it was well worth the money.

The phone receptionist was very nice and helpful in setting up an appointment. Dwayne came to my home for a scheduled appointment on 3/28/12 to evaluate my large dining room table and chairs. The chairs needed re-upholstered and the table had developed a strange cloudy discoloration under its finish. He and is helper took the chair seats and dismantled the table with a lot of difficulty. They took the table top and seats to their place of business. Although Dwayne had estimated that the work would take 3 months is took 5 months. They brought back the chair seats and table top and reassembled all. The 8 chair seats were upholstered with faux leather and look great. The table top was restored to its original beautiful color and grain. The finish is not as smooth as the original but it is beautiful again and I am very pleased. I was pleased enough that I asked him to refinish a small antique side table.

Grimmes is very expensive. Another vendor that did not give me a final quote. Would not call again.

They did an excellent job. 2 pieces of the furniture were repairs and the last was reupholsetered. They paid very much attention to detail and you can tell the owner knows what he is doing and was enthusiastic. I was very pleased with their work. I have no frame of reference for price, but it was worth the work.

The desk was ornate and unique, so we wanted to keep it. However, it was stained brown (which did not match our decor) and was very worn. Grimes painted the desk a satin black, replaced the hardware, and repaired some areas that had aged over the years. They also obtained a piece of glass to place on top of the desk to protect it from damage. The desk now looks beautiful. The prices charged by Grimes are commensurate with the quality of their work. They did a great job. I will definitely use them again in the future and highly recommend them.

.The craftsmanship of this man is just incredible. He really knows his business. If you were to look at the furniture now you would never know that they had been broken. I am extremely happy with the work he does. The price I feel was worth it. He is here when he says he will be here. I will use him again in the furture if I need his services.

The experience was excellent. We were extremely pleased with them. They are a good operation.

I have a dining room table that I paid $1,200.00 about 6 years ago. I have a 20 year old cat that scratched the legs when he was in better health and a 59 year old husband who I refer to as the Bull in the china shop. So over the last 6 years, it really took a beating. Wayne Grimes gave me an estimate that was the highest one out of 4 different estimate. But I went with Grimes because of the review with Angie's List and because of the professionalism of the staff. Everyone from the movers to the appointment setting staff and Wayne made me feel that my business was appreciated and that my table would be in good hands. The refinishing took a little longer than planned but I was able to have it before a large party on Labor Day. Wayne did a great job. I think it looks better than when it was new. He did such a fine job, that I ordered table mats to protect my new table. Next, I hope to have Wayne refinish a dresser.

They are very professional. They were here on time. The time frame is a little longer than I wanted but the price the gave me is what I can afford. I will use them for the project.

They explained everything that should be done to restore this piece, and were excellent in helping me pick out the new fabric. I spent a bit more than I would have liked, but the work was very well done and the piece looks great. It really was restored to what it would have looked like 100 years ago. A very intricate square of small cushions and buttons was very carefully restored. The settee looks wonderful in our formal front room.

I left the table at the store to be examined and to get an estimate of cost. They called the next day and fully described what would be required to reinstall the door and gave an estimate. The estimate was fair in my mind for the amount of work that would have to done but the table was not worth the cost of the repair and so I dropped the idea of repairing the table and will replace it.

AS SOON AS THEY KNEW IT WAS AN INSURANCE CLAIM THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD CHARGE FOR AN ESTIMATE. I SAID I DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH COMPANIES WHICH CHARGE FOR ESTIMATES.
