He was perfect and wonderful. He was honest and cleaned up after himself. I will use him again in a few months.

Called for a quote back in Sep/Oct, and he wasn't the cheapest, but based on reviews here I would pay a little more for quality & trust. Some things came up and I didn't get in touch with him again until mid-lat Nov, but never got a response. I imagine that this is a very busy time of year for him. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, and I plan on getting in touch with him again in the spring.

Very clean did not make a mess of the house

The company came on time as promised and did a very good job. They came in under the price that I was quoted, as well.

John Baker is a professional and a gentleman, very patient and explained everything he was doing in detail. He gave our fireplace a full inspection and made sure it was safe to use (we'd recently bought our house and hadn't used it yet). He climbed on the roof to check out the vents and made sure the caps were on securely. He even gave our hot water tank and furnace a look-over and suggested that I move some things away from the hot water tank vent, as there was a chance of starting a fire with keeping things pushed up against it. I would highly recommend calling this company for any fireplace needs.

Tony was referred by a friend to inspect and sweep our chimney. He provided a quote and answered some other chimney-related questions that we had as new homeowners. He was very helpful in identifying possible sources for a small bit of water damage that we were concerned about. When he performed the work, he was prompt and friendly. His prices are very reasonable.

Mr. Baker was prompt and professional...it was obvious he knew what he was talking about. He looked at the chimney and explained to us that the reason the cap was crumbling was because it was done with mortar and not cement. He told us the flues were clean and did not need swept but he could see evidence that the raccoons were nesting in the dummy flue. His schedule was really busy but he would send us an estimate and if we wanted him to proceed he would complete the work before the racoons returned in the cooler weather. He sent the estimate within days and it was well within reason and so we let him know we wanted him to do the job. He had a break in his schedule so he called and asked if he could do the job earlier than discussed and of course we agreed. The man came in the morning and left before we returned home from work. He was AMAZING! He removed all of the chimney cap and replaced it with the correct medium (cement), placed new stainless steel flue covers on each flue and replaced a cracked flue. It looked great! Please note that the top of the chimney is three stories high and we replaced our roof not long ago....we could see NO evidence that he was even there except for the great looking cap and covers! Not one shingle was damaged, not one peice of mortar was in the grass and no scuffs or scrapes on the gutters. Totally professional job, totally professional gentleman and I'll be calling him back for future cleanings!

We had called several chimney services. One didn't answer our messages, and several quoted outrageous prices. Mr. Baker answered our call promptly and quoted us a reasonable price. He was able to come to take care of the problem in two days. He arrived on time, checked out the problem and fixed it professionally within one hour.

We LOVE John Baker. When we first bought our house about 4 years ago he came to inspect the chimney with a video device, and showed us the deteriorating mortar right on the screen. He was very knowledgeable about how best to fix it, and recommended relining the chimney including a new firebox. We agreed this was the best choice. He came when he said, worked hard, cleaned up after himself, answered questions gladly, and every winter since we always say it was the best money we ever spent! The amount he gave us on the estimate was exactly what we paid.We call John back every spring for an inspection and cleaning, and are never disappointed. Again, each time we call him he calls back in less than 24 hours, and is usually able to fit us in within a week or two. He is always punctual, courteous, professional and I swear the house is actually cleaner after he leaves! He even remembers that we have cats and is very mindful of the doors when he goes in and out!

John was very professional and knowledgeable and he worked quickly, we would work with John again for future fireplace needs.

Mr. Baker performed a thorough chimney inspection, cleaned the chimney and fireplace, and provided detailed recommendations. He was very professional, showed up on time, and performed a very thorough cleaning of our chimney and fireplace. Our chimney was filthy and the previous homeowners had not cleaned the chimney in a very long time. Not a problem for Mr. Baker! I could not believe how well the services were performed. Also, check out Mr. Baker's price before you go searching for some of these other inspectors/cleaners in the South Hills/Pittsburgh area (that do not have the same courtesy and professionalism as Mr. Baker to show up for a scheduled appointment). I wish I would have called him first! You will be very impressed with the price and services! Highly recommended!

I have been dealing with him for some time and I know others who have been dealing with him for quite some time. He seems to have a very good reputation. He seems to be quite knowledgeable, very helpful, nice, and is very clean about what he does. He makes sure nothing drops afterwards. I got a recommendation from him for the fire place store and I have not been disappointed with that either.

John arrived at the scheduled time. Did a thorough check of my flue and said it really didn't need to be cleaned. I also asked him to look at my chimney to see if it could be repointed and it needed to be replaced because the brick was crumbling and water had been leaking in. He checked out several colors of replacement brick to be sure I would be happy with the color to match it to the house as closely as possible. He did a fine job rebuilding the chimney, worked quickly and neatly. As he was finishing the work he asked if I wanted caps on the top of the chimney to keep animals out. There was an extra charge for those. I was pleased with the appearance when he was done and the leaking was fixed. Good job.

Out of about 10 people coming to the house to give me estimates, thank god I found John. He was the only person to prepare me a written estimate and provide excellent references. He was very professional, took good notes, and even called the Rumsford company to make sure their system would work in our home. His price was not the lowest, but definitely was not the highest 13K that I received from one company. He was extremely neat, arrived on time, an cleaned up after he was done. I highly recommend him for your job.

MR. BAKER IS KNOWLEDGEABLE IN HIS FILED. HE WASN'T TOO 'BUSY' TO TAKE ON THIS SOMEWHAT UNUSUAL RESTORATION PROJECT.
