Steve's Painting

Steve arrived on time, got the room prepped and ready to paint. He painted two coats and c eiling and woodwork in a guest bedroom. He was pleasant and arranged everything in order when the job was complete.

Steve have not responded to my most recent emails. He has not done the work yet, still waiting.

The job was scheduled for April. Steve then said that he had not been paid by Angie yet and asked if he could reschedule until May, after he got paid, which I was agreeable to do. Nothing happened in May and when I wrote to him, he said he was fully scheduled, so it would be June. Then in June, he fired his helper and was too busy, so it would definitely be in July. Well, it never happened in July either. I called him and emailed him, but now he was not returning my calls or responding to my emails. I finally gave up and requested a refund from Angie and they did refund my payment.

I paid $199 for the service but never get any work done. I try to call/email to schedule the work on four separate occations during the past six months. No return calls, no emails, no responses. Beware!!!!! He rip me off. Do not waste your time and money with this guy.

Obviously my experience was miserable, especially in valuable time lost awaiting a response from Steve's Painting. This was my first Angie's List purchase and I hold them just as much responsible for recommending this vendor; consequently I have lost faith in their vetting process. Further, I am still awaiting the refund of my purchase price paid to Angie's List. All in all a lousy experience.

Steve showed up promptly, was well prepared, did a great job, and was very personable. I would definitely call him again.

If you want pay for no services then you should go with Steve the painter.

It went very well and were were very pleased with the work.

He was unresponsive; he didn't return my phone calls or answer my emails.

It was a great experience. Steve was a pleasure to work with. He left very detailed notes of all of his work during the day. Steve was punctual and was very communicative about the details of the job. Steve even worked on a Saturday to take care of a couple of other painting projects I wanted completed.Steve is a very honest and trustworth professional. One day Steve had to leave 1 hour early to take care of a personal emergency. He gave me a credit for the hour, even I would've never know that he had to leave early if he hadn't told me since I was at work all day.In addition to the above, most importantly, Steve does great work! His attention to detail is outstanding. He went out of his way to repair cracks and other pre-existing problems.Not only would I recommend Steve's services to a friend, I will definitley use Steve again myself!

It went very well and I would recommend Steve's services to friends. He and his assistant were courteous and informative about everything. In fact, I gained a good deal of new information about wallpaper removal, paint preparation, etc. Had I further attempted to remove the wallpaper myself (which I initially tried) I expect I would have been at it for some very frustrating days and hours. I feel I received excellent services at a bargain price.

He is no longer taking calls or answering emails for setting up an appointment to come out and paint. The last I heard from July 24, 2012.

Everything went well. With one exception, Steve was there when he said he'd be. I think he balanced attention to detail with speed, so the paint job looks great. In fact, the house has never looked better. The only issue was that he underestimated the amount of paint that would be needed, so there were multiple trips to the paint store. Other than that, it was a fairly painless experience.

He had scheduled about a month in advance for Steve to come on a Tuesday. He called and e-mailed me on the Sunday before to say that he had overbooked himself, and if he couldn't come on Monday, it would be about a month before he could re-schedule. It was fine, so he came. I had a long list of small projects. He had a lot of trouble staying focused on my priorities- he finished about half the projects that I had hoped that he would; meanwhile while I took a phone call that lasted a while, therefore I wasn't checking in with him for a while, he re-painted an area I'd done that wasn't perfect, but also wasn't even on my list of things I wanted him to do. I think more disappointing than that, though, was his attention to detail- for example I had patched, but not yet sanded trim, and pointed this out to him. He painted over it before sanding, and so now brand new trim looks bumpy and old.

I emailed him as soon as I bought the Big Deal and he said he was swamped.. He said we could schedule something for June and then I called him in May and said he was booked until June. In June he said he was booked until July. I have sent him several emails since and his email responses were very short and cryptic.

Since was unable to schedule the job and after many e-mails and calls not responded I requested and got my money back. It was my first experience with the Big Deal and probably the last one. It does not work for me.Now I am having some issues with a contractor highly recommended by AL. Not sure AL is a good source of reference as they advertise.

This person Steve, we corresponded totally by e-mail. I called the first few times and his answering machine says to e-mail him because he?s busy. So, we began this in April. At one point he said that he wasn?t familiar with my neighborhood, and that he notified Angie?s List that he was not in Philadelphia. He did say that he would do the job, however, and gave me the date, but he was a no call/no show, and I haven?t heard anything since from him. I?m just disappointed because I was really looking forward to getting this done.

Bought the $199 Big Deal for interior painting for 1 day. Communicated via email with Steve to setup an appt; we agreed on July 2nd. On the 1st he emailed me to confirm if we were still on for the next day. I quickly confirmed and got a follow-up email asking if we can push the work to the 3rd as he wanted to finish another customer's work which was taking him longer. I agreed to the 3rd. He then emails me on the 2nd saying he needs one more day and that he'll have to come by on the 4th. I accommodated him again and agreed. I should have figured something would go wrong after all of this, especially when he never confirmed what time he would arrive (I would have to meet him at the property to let him in as it isn't my permanent address). So here I was, on the 4th of July, waiting at the property at 8 AM. At 8:45 AM I call the # he has listed and get his voicemail. I asked him to call me back and let me know his status or if circumstances had changed. I get no call back. At 9:15 AM I decided I didn't want to spend my holiday waiting around. He never showed, called or emailed. I understand things happen and circumstances change, but that doesn't mean you can't pickup a phone and call someone to update them so they don't waste their time. It takes 1 minute to do so. I'm now in a time-crunch to get my rental property finished.

Steve & Rob both showed up on time, worked 8 hour days with only two breaks. They were very friendly and professional. But most of all they did a superb painting job The quality of their work is unsurpassed. It took three whole days for them to complete two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room and kitchen. They protected my furniture and carpets like it was their own homes. They primed and where they saw imperfections, they sanded, caulked or speckled for perfectly painted walls & trim. They cleaned up after each day. All this in spite of personal health issues at home. Steve never once brought his personal problems to the job. I am very impressed and so pleased with Steve's Painting. You can not go wrong with Steve and Rob. I will use them again if needed. I give them an A+++.

I was in touch with Steve all week, provided my address and phone number as he requested Thursday morning. Thank goodness I took the day off from work as I sat at my home till 10:30 waiting for him to show. He originally stated he would be here between 8 - 8:30. I called @ 9:30 and left a voicemail at the number provided in the ad. I also sent him an email. Very disappointed as I took a vacation day off from work that I cannot get back.

He said he wasn't in my service area. Then called back and said I was in his area and offered to knock $10 off the total bill. I decided not to use him.

The whole job went really well. I was surprised that Paul and Rob got job done in one day. The rooms look ready to go.

I purchased the $199 Big Deal. Steve was such a treat to work with and he did a great job for me! I was impressed by his quality of work and professionalism. He has such a calm, easy-going disposition. I originally wanted him to paint three bedrooms but time wouldn't allow it so I decided to paint the third bedroom myself. Steve gave me some great tips and was more than willing to answer any questions I had. He even painted around my light fixture so I wouldn't have to do that part. But after I finished my ceiling and one wall I was exhausted. I told Steve I was done and would have to finish it another time. But to my surprise (I went downstairs and got on the computer) when I came back up he finished it for me and it was the largest bedroom I had! So now I only had to do the smallest bedroom which I could handle : ) Steve is such a great worker. He didn't even take a lunch break and stayed the entire eight hours! I'm a true stickler for time and he arrived a little later than I expected but then he explained that he wasn't familiar with my area at all and actually my location was outside of his work area but he wanted to keep his word and come anyway, which I really appreciated; a testament of his character and professionalism. Anyone that hires Steve will be so happy they did. Not only is he a nice guy but he is so knowledgeable and his quality of work is great! I've dealt with contractors that are unprofessional, unprepared, and has a poor quality of work but Steve is the exact opposite. One of the other reviews said that he is a gem among contractors and I couldn't agree with them more. Thanks so much Steve!

Steve confirmed my appointment the day before and arrived on time the day of the job. He painted my kitchen, including ceiling and trim, and did a beautiful job. He used protective tarps and plastic, and my house was cleaner when he left than when he arrived. Steve is a friendly professional, and I've already recommended him to several of my friends.
