Tub-N-Counter

Process went well. A day or so of strong fumes from the coating. Overall a good experience. Company even made a last minute color switch with no arguments or complaints.

We purchased this on Angie's List and contacted Tub-N-Counter. They were very courteous and professional and we were able to quickly schedule the work to be done. They arrived on time and quickly set about the job. They protected everything else in the room and cleaned up when they were done. I would recommend this company.

Tub-N-Counter did the work but it was paid through Alan our plumber. It was less than $700.00. They were used in December. It was all good, they came, they were very professional in the way they hooked up a fan and so forth in the window to get the fumes, basically it's a cleaning process, a cleaning and a coating. It's all basically done in one day. I think you have to let it cure for a day. They came they did the work, it was one person. Very professional, came on time. He was professional, he was knowledgeable about what he was doing. Explained the process and everything.

I purchased the tub refinish deal via angieslist and had to pay an extra fee because my tub had been refinished once prior. They were timely on arrival and were understanding when they learned of the previous finish, which appeared to be difficult to remove. The service technician was friendly and communicated everything well. I did not receive the follow packet of information described by the technician, even after a follow up email. Finish appears to be holding up well just over 1 month in.

Cameron, the company owner, contacted me. We scheduled the appointment about two weeks out. There was a minor, unexpected delay the day of my appointment, but i was called and assured the tub resurfaces would both still be completed. Cameron and another man showed up and performed the service. The service was completed and the rooms were left clean. It was quick, and both tubs were completed in a few hours. A month later they both still look great. I couldn't be happier with work.

I got them from Angie's List. I will tell other Angie's List members not to use them because I was not made aware of the extreme smell in my house where I could not live in my house for two to three days. They do not provide you the information that you need to have beforehand. Otherwise, I would never have had it done. It was in expense of me to have to go somewhere and live for three days. Even my dog could not live in my house. I thought it was a good price but actually it was money lost out of my pocket because if I would have known, I would have never had it done. The quality was okay. There was a couple of spots on my tub that were missed but I did not want them to come back because I could not get through that smell. I had to call them constantly for days just to get an answer back. For punctuality, they were here on time. I will not use them again.

I called and made the first appointment the middle of January. I got a call that morning from Cameron saying that there was a problem with his truck and could be reschedule. I was fine with this and we set a set a date for 2 weeks out. He was to be there between 8 and 9. I waited until around 11 and finally called. He said that he had a vague recollection that he had an appointment for that morning, but that there had been a glitch getting it into the computer, so he didn't know any of the details of the appointment. Again, I was OK with rescheduling, so we made another appointment for 2 weeks out. Again he was to be there between 8 and 9. Again, no call and no show. I called at 10 and told him I would like my money refunded and that we should just forget about doing the work. I requested a call back. So far, no call back.

The person they sent out to do the work broke a pipe and told me that he would charge me $50 to fix it. He ended up charging my husband $200 to fix it since he wasn't there when it was broken. We could have gotten the work done much since we know a plumber but since he told me $50 then I was ok with that. After they finished, we still have rust in the bottom of my bathtub and when I called to complain about it he told me I must have rusty water. I had another plumber come in and he pulled apart the drain that Tub-n-Counter was supposed to have fixed and glazed and he said that it was glazed the drain trap. We have called him no less than 10 times and he won't respond, he won't even come and look at it. We want to get a copy of the reciept but he won't respond to that either.

Excellent job; looks brand new; I w explained prior to job being done what to expect. Very polite and good workmanship started work immediately upon arrival. What was quoted; was done no added expense. Yes I would recommend them. Thank you.

The work done by Tub-N-Counter far surpassed my expectations. Although it took us more than a month for them to reply and coordinate schedules for my purchase, I am overwhelmed by how wonderful my 1954 bathtub looks. Years of scrubbing and strong detergents left my bathtub enamel very thin in most places and completely gone in others. My serviceman was prompt and thorough in his application of the resurfacing material, completely prepared the surface ( I was told not to worry about rubber strips that were on the tub bottom since we moved here 18 years ago!), and left the entire bathroom as if no one had ever been there. He left me with instructions for keeping the surface in like-new condition and promised there would be a follow-up packet from Tub-N-Counter further explaining how to keep the tub looking like new --- unfortunately, the follow-up never arrived. I would recommend this provider to anyone looking to renew their bathtub. It certainly saved us an expensive bathroom remodel!

First technician did not fix drain as requested but owner re-sent another tech 24 hrs later to fix issue & tub looks great!!

really nice . The process was somewhar smelly, but I was warned of that. The smell lasted mostly just during the application process which took several hours. It was not intolerable.

The worker arrived right at the time stated and was ready to work. We had a small section of a wall open in the bathroom, opposite to the tub. He mentioned that this may cause a little dust to adhere due to the air used to blow the material on to the tub. He said it would rub off after regular use of the tub making it sound like it was normal and no big deal. I was right next door as he worked on the tub and came back when I saw him getting in his car. I went in to inspect the work, but he left without waiting for me to take a look at it. The first thing I noticed was that he had gotten over-spray on my brand new marble floor. After about 10 minutes I was able to scrub it off. I guess it was a good thing that I caught it before it really set in. The next thing I noticed is that there was not complete coverage on the front of the tub, you could see a little bit of the old surface coming through. My biggest complaint is that most of the surface of the tub is extremely gritty looking and feeling. I am not sure how this will rub off with use, as they say, and not leave chip marks since it appears to be embedded in the glazing material. On the bottom of the tub, they added a material to create a non-slip surface which is great. However, it appears that some of it clumped together in spots and was covered with the glazing material creating very sharp spots in many areas where one would be standing or sitting in the tub. Other things I noticed, were that there are areas where the material has left runs and has pooled on the inside of the tub. The tub looks ok as far as being white now instead of tan, but if you get close to it or touch it, you definitely see all the defects. I have called the company twice about this and both times they said they would call back to set up a time to come take a look, but never did. After the work was complete I happened to check with the BBB regarding this company, (something I did not do beforehand...I guess I got caught up in reading/trusting the reviews on Angie's List and didn't do my full homework.) Turns out this company has an F rating on the BBB website. Update: I opened a dispute since contacted the company twice and was told twice that they would remedy the issues and would call back to set up a time to come out and it never happened. I finally received a response in December. I was still fine with letting the company come and fix the tub since there was a personal situation that occurred which caused the delay/miscommunication. They just came out (January) and sanded the tub and re-coated it. After it dried, I checked the work. I must say that it looks worse than it initially did. Much of the surface is now dull and you can see and feel the grooves from the surface being sanded. The sharp pieces in the floor are gone, though. At this point, I give up. I will just cut my losses and won't bother getting the company to try and come fix it a third time. The price was good, the workman was very punctual and courteous, but I simply cannot recommend this company.

The fellow was prompt and he prepared the bathroom by covering everything. I was amazed at how beautiful the tub looked after it was reglazed. He shared tips on how to maintain the tub to prevent problems. He said he would email instructions, but I do not recall ever getting them. I wrote a note so that I do not use abrasive cleaners or use a mat with suction cups. He suggested Zep from Home Depot for cleaning the tub.

The guy showed up promptly, did a neat job, which was not easy in our tiny bathroom, and made every effort to vent the noxious fumes. We were in a hurry and did not price shop, so I can not really judge the price. It seemed fair, so I have given it a B. I also gave quality a B because the finish felt sort of gritty. But it looked great.

He came and did a good job. It was the first time I had used them. He was very professional and courteous.

Overall I was pleased. They were very prompt and professional. Joe is a nice guy. With the coupon discount it was a great deal. They did a beautiful job. My only concern was that they forgot the paperwork and they said they would mail them to me and I haven’t received it. I think they have just been swamped.

They were on time, finished in a reasonable period of time, cleaned up, provided care instructions and so far, the work has stood the test of time and use.

I was emailed the Big Deal from Angie's List for tub refinishing from this company and I had been thinking about doing this so I purchased it. I conatacted the company about a month later and spoke to Cameron the owner and he said that he was not in his office and would have to call me back to schedule. He asked if calling on Saturday was ok and I said it was fine. I did not hear from him and waited till the following Wednesday and called again. I left a message for him and a few days later he called and we scheduled the appt. Joe came out on time and was very nice. He said that it looked like a pretty straight forward job. He spent about two hours and said that he was finished, but there was an issue. There was some water left in the recessed soap dish that he did not see and it leaked through the plastic that he put on the wall above the tub. It ran down into the tub and caused a big streak on the new finish. He said to let it dry and call Cameron and they would be hapy to come out and fix it. I said ok and I did call and set up another appt for the fix. I realize things happen even if it is a little inconvenient to have to schedule another appt and be there. Joe came out again and he said that he would fix the area. I also showed him an area on the ouside of the tub that the old color was showing throught the new finish. He spent about 20 minutes to half an hour and was finished. Where he touched up the area where the water leaked it looked very uneven. He said to let it dry and if it still looked uneven call Cameron and he would be able to buff it or something. He said he would let Cameron know of the issue. The next day I looked at it and it looked as if someone used a can of spray paint to touch up or something...really uneven and blotchey looking ....felt rough to the touch also. I called Cameron again a few days later and he said that he would be happy to look at it, but he had no idea when he could schedule. I found that a little strange and said ok does that mean you will look at your schedule and get back to me? He said yes. It has been over a month and I have not heard anything from anyone! How may times do I have to call? They made the mistakes and I was ver patient. They market their service as "make your tub look and feel as new" The quality of the work is nothing close to that...the finish of the tub is botchey and uneven and is not quality. I was really patient and understanding with them, but this is not good business. I was really patient and understanding , but this is not good business.

I had a little difficulty scheduling the work - I guess because they were very busy and hadmore demand than anticipated to the special Angie's list offer, but once they came it went well.
