Haller was great to work with. From the very beginning they were always friendly and very punctual. Eddie, the sales rep, couldn't have been nicer and always returned my calls or emails, usually within minutes, and he continually followed up right through the installation. The installers, Tom and Nate, were very professional and hard workers who knew their stuff. These guys worked great as a team and did an excellent job. Everything was done right on schedule. In the end, I was very pleased with the whole process/job and would recommend Haller Heating and Cooling. I'll have them back to do my yearly maintenance.

The service technician was extremely professional and knowlegeable. In fact, his Grandfather had developed the prototype for our Lennox furnace. His service was extrememly thorough and he was happy to share information with us, for example, which type of filter we needed and how to change it.This was just what we needed after one year of bad service from other vendors with repeat visits due to problems, followed by a year with no service due to our reluctance to trust anyone. Haller has restored our faith in good service. They are not the cheapest but I am a firm believer in "You get what you pay for."

Haller installed the faucet that we had already purchased. They came in a very timely manner, were very professional, and did good work. The service was excellent, but the price was DOUBLE what others charge.
Description of Work: Installed new faucet for kitchen. We had already purchased the faucet. Haller did the installation. They did a great job, but it cost a fortune! They do great work, and we use them for our heating and air conditioning needs, but at least for this particular plumbing job, they charged us double what others would have charged.

I'm extremely satisfied with the plumbing work. However, if you are going to have plumbing work that requires cutting into the drywall, have someone standing by to come in and do the drywall work afterwards. The drywall guy they recommended didn't seem interested in the doing any work for me. He claimed he was working an emergency job and would call me back but never returned my call . I don't consider this a reflection on Haller as they just recommended the guy but I definitely recommend you do your homework for the aftermath if having major plumbing work done.
Description of Work: My condo was in need of a plumbing upgrade. Dave provided the estimate the same day he came to assess the work, unlike the other company(s) which took two weeks or more to get an estimate. They were able to plan the work around my schedule which was a plus in my book; unlike other companies that think you should work around their schedules. Dave and his colleague were punctual, very professional, and considerate of my home. They did high quality work and the price was very reasonable compared to other estimates I got.

I had got their card from the builder show at F& M.2011 Had called for a estimate on central air or a Mimi split. I called the number 0n the card first the office Number and the cellphone and did get a call back. So I went online and ask for an estimate. The next day they called to set up a date. The guy was very nice and knew what he was taking about. He told me he would send me a estimate. I was ready to go with them. I was just waiting for the estimate. I had two other estimate but I like what the sales person said from Haller Enterprises. He never Called so I called his cell phone twice and got no return calls He never mail the estimate like he said he would do. If they did not what to do the Job They could have told me that . So I got some other company to do the work. They now send me e-mail all the time trying to get to have work done. Why I do not know they did not what my money the last time. They may do a great job I will never find out. This is not a way to treat people.

This is an unfortunate misunderstanding. We have a hard copy of the estimate on file and our records indicate the exact date the quote was mailed. It appears that the client never received it. Regrettably, there was a miscommunication between the two parties. We have attempted to reach out to him to rectify this situation.

After they were supposedly completed the local gas company checked the install. The inspector red tagged the instsall and refused to hook up gas to the unit. Hellernet had forgoten to install the return duct and the supply line was sub standard, the thermostat was left hanging with a huge whole behind it. Responsiveness was generally slow to rectify problems.
Description of Work: I had hired this company to install a gas furnace. They had a great price through home depot. Unfortnatily you get what you pay for sometimes and this companies perfromance showed the old adage to be true.

Update 8/13/2012 Haller is currently working with the TRANE Corp. technical representative to correct any deficiencies in my heating/air conditioning system. I am satisfied with their collective effort- so far. I consider this to be a responsible response to my problems. I will update at the conclusion to these efforts. Update 7/25/2012 In response to their claim that documents were not submitted, that is inaccurate because they took copies of the repair estimates with them when they inspected the damage. Furthermore they unleashed their loss prevention specialists who tried to intimidate my wife and called her a liar-leaving her in tears. Haller paid for the damages after I hired an attorney. Update to equipment installed. The heating and cooling equipment installed by Haller has never worked properly. After contacting the Trane corporation they sent two factory authorized repairmen to inspect the equipment-on two separate dates. The first was to inspect the equipment, the second was to verify the first technician's findings. In short, the Regional representative from Trane concluded that I was oversold on a high efficiency unit that would never function as designed for the open duct system in my house. He recommended to stay away from this company and to retain a lawyer to resolve the sub-standard installation of these units. I have filed a complaint with BBB requesting Haller to remove all equipment from my house and refund all monies paid. I will retain an attorney to resolve this matter and the news media has indicated they will investigate this situation if Haller does not resolve. Below is an excerpt of the findings of the equipment inspection: During period July-August 2011 Haller Enterprises sold and installed a new heating air conditioning system in my home. The unit has never functioned correctly. After contacting the manufacturer and having, at their request, two separate factory authorized service technicians inspect the units the following, consistent conclusions were found. 1). I was oversold on a unit that is not appropriate for the duct work in my house; hence' the unit will never function properly 2) the units were not installed according to the manufacturer's specifications. Numerous shortcuts were found affecting the overall operation and efficiency of the units: Wrong wire used to install thermostat, wrong size coolant line used on condenser unit-reducing units efficiency by 40% (they were particularly concerned that the installer attempted to hide this by covering with insulation). Non use of manufacturer supplied gaskets and seals for proper installation of heating and coil units. The regional Factory representative concluded that the system as installed, and they type of equipment installed, will never function as designed and needs to be replaced. I can guarantee that Haller will respond by unleashing their attorney in an attempt to quash my efforts to resolve this issue. You would think a company such as this would have the integrity to stand behind their work and provide customer support. Unfortunately, they rely on intimidation and empty promises to resolve their errors-in hopes that the customer will just roll over and go away. There are better companies that provide professional service at better pricing. Unfortunately, you need to look for them. Why? because the TRANE website charges $8,000.00 per year to be listed as an authorized dealer. Hence, one is under the impression that the companies listed on this website are the only providers available in your area. The following is a matter of public record after lawsuit filed and out of court settlement obtained. The work performed did not pass home inspection resulting in additional cost to correct non-compliant installation. Be sure to video tape and have 3rd party witness to contract negotiation-They will deny what is written in the contract. Failed to provide installation as per contract specs. Failed to respond to phone calls for completing installation (did not respond until payment was stopped). Failed to fully disclose costs for materials and labor as requested (paid $451.00/hr labor.) Failed to obtain required permits-as per contract. (obtained after successful lawsuit filed). Failed to pay for over $2,000.00 in damages to doors and floors as agreed (paid after successful lawsuit filed). Left work uncompleted for 3 weeks in order to work on another job. Used homeowners tools, building supplies w/o permission to complete job-used electric to charge tool batteries for another job. Failed to return to do recommended tune-ups of equipment. Attempted to intimidate homeowner to drop claim for damages via 3rd party harassing phone calls. Continued to bill customer for services already paid in full. If you don't want your home to be treated like an industrial site, you might want to consider using another company.

It is unfortunate that every job is not perfect from start to completion. In this instance, damage to a door was sustained while removing the old equipment from the basement. Although we were working through a claim with our insurance provider to facilitate reimbursement for damages, the homeowner failed to provide the necessary documentation required to finish the claim. At time of final completion, the system was installed properly and operating as specified in the original contract.

We called Haller because our furnace had caught fire in the night. They promptly sent a technician out, who arrived promptly. He gave us options for repair/replacement. I asked if we could get an estimate on a new system the same day, as I had to take the day off work. In several hours, another person from Haller came out and gave us an estimate. Our HVAC system was replaced 2 weeks later. All the technicians were professional and prompt. We were pleasantly surprised at the excellent service.

The repair didn't go as planned, which highlights the benfits of using Haller. The first tech arrived as planned, on a Friday morning. He fixed the leak and installed the new showerhead we provided. We didn't use the shower for the rest of the day as instructed. When we showered on saturday morning, the shower would not shut-off. Haller sent out a tech later that day. The second tech spent over four hours trying to fix the problem to no avail. He determined that the problem was the shower mixing valve, not a simple washer/hardware fix. Per his direction we purchased a new shower set. The third tech came out on Tuesday morning. He had to cut into our tile shower wall to make the repair. It took several hours, but it was perfectly done. The moral of the story is that Haller was responsive to our calls, did what it took to fix a problem that was 10x more involved than originally diagnosed, and did not charge extra for the more involved repair. This is not a cut-rate operation. They are professional and you get what you pay for. A lesser contractor would have threw up their hands or at least would have tried to charge more.
Description of Work: The initial service call was to stop a dripping/leaking showerhead. We also wanted a customer supplied showerhead installed.

This is the 1st heat pump I have owned and the tech reviewed the whole system with me. I could not be happier. He never acted rushed or in a hurry. I feel very confident going into the winter.

Had water in basement and thought it might be leak from old water heater. Tech came to check and thought the water was from outside (which was possible). Service technician, Wink, came to find out why my furnace would not run and to fix the problem. He took a really long time to diagnose what he thought was the problem, kept leaving the house for long stretches with no explanation, and then finally told me that it was the control board in the furnace that was bad. He told me he could see where it was burned out and definitely needed to be replaced. He quoted me a price of $472 to replace it, said he did not have that particular board on his truck, but would have to order it. I told him we were thinking of replacing the furnace, so decided not to have any further work done at this time. I called another company I had dealt with in the past (Secco) to get a quote on a price to replace the furnace, and they were able to come out the same day. The technician from Secco checked the furnace to see why it wasn't working, found that there was NOTHING WRONG with the control board, except that Wink had ripped it off its where it was grommeted to the wall inside the furnace and had ruined the grommets hoding it onto the unit. He then went to the thermostat, only to discover that some of the wires had come loose, and as soon as he reconnected them, the furnace worked fine. WInk from Haller had not taken the cover off the thermostat. The tech from Secco had to zip tie the control board back up, since the grommets had been ruined. The Secco tech also did not charge me to fix the problem, since I decided to have Secco replace the furnace in the near future. I will NEVER use Haller again. What a rip off-- I paid $99 to Haller to have a tech who had no idea what he was doing not correctly identify the problem, and not get my furnace working again, and ruin the grommets of the control board. Avoid Haller Enterprises, people!!
Description of Work: Furnace not running, needed tech to diagnose and fix problem. Called 2 days ahead to scheduoe a tech to come and diagnose why my furnace was not running. Was told that I would have to be squeezed in, that they could not give me any idea as to when the tech would be available. Tech came at around noon. Very unhappy with service. See below.

We apologize for any inconvenience this customer experienced. This situation is not indicative of the service that we normally provide to our customers. The technician has been questioned regarding his performance and this incident will be used for training purposes. Without an investigation by a service team leader to confirm diagnosis, we are unable to determine if the original diagnosis was correct or not. Regardless, we respect our customers and competitors and will credit the diagnostic fee paid by the homeowner, as we do not charge for misdiagnosis. Although our goal is always for perfection, mistakes can happen. We appreciate the constructive criticism and will use this information to improve.

I couldn't be happier with Haller. From start to finish, they were prompt, professional, and impressive. The salesman answered all my questions quickly and thoroughly, and the men who did the work on our house were knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make our system the best it could be. I'm VERY glad that I chose Haller; we had looked at 4 other potential companies for our geo system. Haller wasn't the cheapest-- though they were competitive-- but they offered the best combination of price, expertise, and service. I'm thrilled with our decision.
Description of Work: Haller installed a geothermal system for us, including arranging for the drilling of a 2 ton closed vertical loop, installing the 2 ton system, retrofitting our 1940's cape cod for ductwork, adding 3 zones and a whole house humidifier, as well as a desuperheater/ extra electric water heater.

Needed new kitchen faucet, needed new working flushing parts for bathroom toilet tank, and I thought bathroom sink was draining too slowly. Rick came on time. Always used shoe covers when he came back in the house after going out to his truck. He is very professional and friendly! (Much better than most <but not all> of the Ranck's personnel we met in previous years.) Rick said the sink was basically fine and explained why and made a recommendation. He helped us select and installed a high faucet with spray that pulls out quite a bit. Faucet was maybe in the low $300. Our only concern is that it moved slightly at the base and Rick said that the grade or thickness (?) of the steel our sink is made of is not as thick as it could be but said it would not be a problem. Rick replaced toilet tank innards and put on a metal handle - it flushes much better than the one Ranck put in 4-5 years ago. He used a better brand name product (I forget which) and said that the innards and the metal handle should last a lot better. We had been here in a new house for 9 years and the initial tank innards lasted maybe 3-4 years and Ranck's lasted 4-5 years. We also purchased a plumbing service contract because he explained by purchasing it we lowered the cost of the faucet such that our total cost was within $5-10 of the total we would have paid without the service agreement -but we gained a one year plumbing service contract. He was a big help additionally by giving us (most effective!) advice re sticking front door. We were all very pleased with everything. Some others have said that Hallers are expensive and I think that is true but we were verry happy with Rick's visit and his work and would definitely use Hallers in Lancaster again and would definitely ask for Rick for a plumbing job. I hope Haller Enterprises realizes what a good employee they have in Rick.

The $99 service covers the costs that are incurred by our technicians to drive out to the home and to provide a proposal for the installation of the new system. Should the customer choose to accept the proposal that is provided, the $99 fee is applied to the project. We appreciate the feedback and will keep these comments in mind during our routine evaluation of business practices and pricing structures.

When they put in the heat pump, the first thing we used was air conditioner. The reason it was so high because the house had different kind of heating system before into the ductwork. They installed the heat pump itself, so the ductwork is distributed. I had a number of people come out to give me quotes. Most of the quotes I had were almost the same. It was more of the personality of the people I was dealing with. I didn't have any complaints with them, and it was a good installation. I don't know necessarily that they were better than anybody else was, but they did a good job. I didn't have any criticism. They cleaned up after themselves. They showed up when they said they would. They were polite when they were here.

Trent was at our home bright and early- about 7:15. He walked me through things with the young man (I didn't catch him name) who would be digging up our yard for the water line. Bonus, he took out a horribly crooked tree that was growing- for free! (We have to dispose of it but that is a-ok with us! Nick came and began work on the public water. Rich worked on our furnace. He kindly introduced himself while I was painting away in one of the bedrooms. Once they were finished and waiting for the inspector, they started the other projects. They were extremely thorough. I don't recall seeing them stop working once. They worked until 4:00! Rich stayed with me and showed me everything they did and made sure I knew how to operate everything and that I understood what everything was. He also helped me get the fridge into it's proper home (which was quite the task) and showed me how to light the pilot light on our water heater (first home...lacked the knowledge). They were very clean. They wore covers on their shoes and put a cloth down in our entry so as not to mess the hardwood floors. They were extremely courteous and polite- great manners, no foul language at all, and were just extremely respectful. When all was said and done, Rich sat me down and explained everything they did again, I signed and paid. I appreciated they Rich seemed truly interested in making me comfortable in my new home and offered lots of advice beyond his specific work that he was there for. My husband and I will not hesitate to call Haller again. They will be our go-to plumber for years to come. Trent, Rich, and Nick were a pleasure to work with...and everyone I talked to at the office were wonderful as well! Very polite, quick to return calls, and help in any way possible.
Description of Work: Trent came to our new home and gave us estimates on 1) installing public water 2) removing the very loud well pump; removing softener for well 3) replacing the tub drain 4) installing a utility sink/properly hooking up washer (it pumps up to the 1st floor from the basement) 5) installing a hose hook up in the front of our home 6) servicing our furnace After receiving the quotes, my husband and i had to cancel #4 for now (it would have cost 1500....too much for our budget at the time- given that we just settled on the home) We did however add a water hook up for fridge.

Because this is my first home purchase I am not familiar with any of the equipment and have only ever had to call a landlord for repairs or maintenance. I needed technicians who would be helpful in explaining the equipment to me as well and give me a status on the equipment currently installed in the home. It did take several phone calls with the scheduler, Tammy, and the service manager, for me to get across to Haller what I was trying to have done because they do not typically do inspections which was what I was asking them to do. Both were very polite and professional throughout all of the conversations and they were doing everything they could to adhere what I was asking. They were able to schedule two different technicians to come out on the same afternoon (to not take up too much of the seller's time). It was agreed that I would be told approximately 20 minutes beforehand when a technician would be at the site to do the inspection. Plumbing - Haller called me to say that a technician would be at the house within 30-40 minutes. I went to the house and Eric showed up exactly within the time frame given. He was prepared with shoe covers as to not track dirt through the house which was very professional as well as common courtesy. Eric took the time to test all of the faucets, showers, and garbage disposal throughout the house. He inspected the plumbing in the basement and took the time to introduce each piece of equipment to me, as well as how to maintain it and what additional equipment and brands of supplies were best to keep the everything running at its optimum efficiency. Outside he also showed me the well hookup and how the outdoor frost-free faucets worked. Because one outdoor faucet is from well water and the other is from the public water, he explained which household chores were better used from one or the other. He also told me how to get future discounts with Haller without sounding like a pushy salesman. After concluding his inspection he wrote his notes on my invoice and even called dispatch to find out how long it would be before the next technician would arrive. HVAC - Haller called me to say that a technician would be at the house within 20-30 minutes. I went to the house and Tom arrived exactly within the time frame given. He too was prepared with shoe covers. He inspected the system in the basement and took the time to explain each part's purpose in the heating system as well as it's condition. He put a camera inside the system and also explained the efficieny of it. Tom also inspected the outside components and answered all of my questions as to the condition and repairs expected. When finished he also wrote up his notes on my invoice.

My Husband was home at the time. He said they did a very thorough, professional job.
Description of Work: new hvac system . Rep was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. Came out and installed new system. It worked well but he brought a minor part for replacement the next day. We've had no complaints.
