It was fine. They had not come back since and they came out to treat them again. It was reasonably priced. They're always very pleasant, very professional. They don't leave a mess. They're borderline high but they're worth it. They just come, they don't make an appointment.

I've been using them for years. They're good company. They come out on a regular basis. They're very good. They come out here like every couple of months. The cost depends on whether they fertilize or insect control. They just seek my plants help and my plants are doing good. The purpose is to keep my plants healthy and they do that; the trees and my shrubs, that's what they work on at my home.

We had two dead Ash trees that were in locations on our lot that threatened structures that we did not feel comfortable cutting down ourselves. My husband and I have cleared the majority of our 1 acre wooded lot but when there is a tree that needs done by a professional, we seek a professional to do the removal. The Davey representative arrived 15 minutes late for our scheduled appointment which is not horrible but a quick phone call to alert me to the late arrival would have been appreciated as I was at work. When we discussed what we wanted done, he was not sure exactly how to make it happen and could not guarantee that the structure that we wanted to be spared, could be. He did not seem focused on the task at hand commenting on other trees in our lot as well as our neighbors trees. We talked about several options and I told him to write up his quote for the option that would run $1,400.00 so it could be discussed with my husband prior to scheduling. He did have other cheaper options as well, but I requested the high cost one for the written quote. He asked if he could mark several trees for a visual before he left. I agreed to this so my husband could see what was proposed. I had to leave to get back to work as this was during my work shift and things were running long, especially since he arrived 15 minutes late. I asked that he leave his quote in my mailbox (normally they print a quote out in their vehicle) and went back to work. The trees were marked as promised, but the quote was never left in my mailbox. I thought maybe he was going to mail the quote and follow up, but that never happened. We have used Davey in the past and have been happy with the service they have provided but this experience fell far short of our expectations. It was an unusual experience and not one that I expected from Davey. We were able to get the work done at half the cost with more problem trees taken down and no damage to our structures with a different company.

We called a couple of landscaping companies for the tree situation, Davey Tree Service called back right away, came out and gave me the estimate right that day then called and followed up on it. For pricing, since we called up several people, I have nothing to judge it by. We didn't get an estimate from anyone else. So far, so good. So far they've been great. I think we would use them again.

From beginning to end, we were very happy with our experience. Brian Tarbert was excellent to work with from his first visit to bid the job to following up on the completion. He took time to explain things about each tree and to give us options. Removing the trees in backyard was a challenge for several reason including being fenced in and down a narrow set of steps. One tree was almost dead and was dangerous to work around. They were able to bring it down without damaging our fence right below it. The two workers were very prompt and considerate. Their cleanup of the work (including hauling the dead trees up through the backyard) was very good as well. While tree work isn't cheap, I now understand why. Being suspended up in trees with two chains saws hanging on them in the rain is dangerous work. They handled it very professionally. We would definitely us them again in the future.

I have been very, very happy with them. Their prices are high, but I think their work is very high quality. They do what they say they are going to do. They work very quickly, and they send enough people to get the job done, so the job doesn’t drag on.

I'd say overall 'A'. I would use them again in the future.

We had the guy come out to give us an estimate. We sent the form back with what we wanted done. They didn't contact us for two weeks. My husband called and said either to come out or to cancel. Again, they didn't contact us. My husband had to call again. Then they came out without scheduling. There wasn't very much communication.

After having some foundation work done I had an area along the front of the house that needed plants and re-mulched and also needed a couple plants moved. They did a great job and were very professional. Only thing I was disappointed in is that they don't place plastic under the mulch.

Experience was good. A representative stopped out and met with me and gave me a fast estimate of how much grind out a stump I had. I had recently gotten a lower estimate however so I did not use their services.

Hard to believe that all of the above was done for just $560, but it's true. The contact man, Brian Tarbert, is a skilled arborist who answered every question I had in great detail and gave me phenomenal advice through many emails, phone calls, and visits. They even picked up my trees at the local nursery since it was on their way. That saved me a steep delivery charge. Not only was Brian great, so were the two workers he sent. One of them has been working there for 25 years so he's also very knowledgable. Brian showed up at the beginning of the job and walked through everything with the workers and I so that we all were on the same page. I stayed with the workers for the three hours they were working (previous bad experiences with landscapers taught me this lesson), and the workers were very friendly and professional. Brian came back when the job was nearly finished and looked over everything, even helping clean up so that there was no evidence that they were even there. They also gave me advice on how to kill, and prevent, weeds, and also which mulch I should use. They also gave me advice on how to prune, water, etc. No stone was left unturned. A very windy storm moved through just a few hours later, which knocked the still fresh bloodgood over a bit, but they were back the next day to secure it with three stakes. I have used landscapers twice before this and both were disasters. It cost many thousands and the work was shoddy. Not only did Davey have by far the best knowledge and professionalism, they did it for a much friendlier price. It seems like good contractors are getting more and more difficult to find these days so I can't stress enough what a perfect experience it was to employ Davey Tree. I don't think they do actual landscape design, but the truth is, none of the other landscapers know what they're doing either when it comes to that. My advice is to do the research on your own for what you like then ask the Davey experts if the choice will work in your zone and will mature to the size you want. By the way they don't do just trees, they also will do all of your landscaping for you. Highly, highly recommended and I can't wait to work with them again.

I contacted Davey Tree Expert Co as Mr. Miles Stephens (and his company) was listed on the International Society of Arboriculture website as a certified arborist. I wanted an expert to diagnose/treat a fungus that I have on a very large and old maple tree that is close to my house. Unfortunately, my service area was too far to receive service. The receptionist, however, took a great deal of time to see if they could locate an aborist closer to my area. Although they were unable to locate someone, they offered their time and assistance to check. They were professional and courteous and went above and beyond what most companies do. Should I ever move closer to their service area, I would definitely give them a call.

Contacted Davey through Angie's list. Received a return call and a visit from Matt within a day to go over the property and to give me an estimate. The estimate was broken down between what needed to be done now, and what was needed in the Fall. Each item on the estimate was priced individually. Matt was knowledgeable and pleasant. The treatment for the Magnolia bushes was done two days later. The bigger job was done 2 weeks later by Bill and another man who were professional and worked from start until the job was finished. They called the day before they came to do the work as requested, and were courteous and cleaned up when finished.A good experience. I plan to have them do the work items in the Fall.

Brian does great estimating and does hands-on supervision of what actually happens, which I really appreciate. He calls before he comes, to makes sure it works for my calendar. He is also very good at caring for a very old maple tree on my property, which had been damaged by the previous owner. He has high-tech machines that can assess which branches are living and which need to be addressed. I've also used them for some minor landscaping in the past, but really like them for the tree service.

Great! They left the area so neat I couldn't tell that they had been there. If they had not left the wood for us, then I wouldn't have been able to tell there were there.

They were excellent. They were always extremely professional, knew their trees, and many of the gentlemen who came out were arborists. They always were professional, punctual, and knew what they were doing and could explain why they needed to do when they wrote their plan out for me. I have not used them in the recent past because I do not have trees on my current property, however, if I did, I would use them again without question.

Tree service: They were excellent. They were very professional, and reliable. I have them lined up for another job, already. I will continue to use them. Lawn service: We have the best lawn on our street - which is silly since we never water it!! I think their prices for their quarterly treatments are reasonable. Gardening / Yard Work: I wouldn't hire them again to do yard work. This is a tree and lawn company. They did a poor job pruning (actually didn't seem to do much pruning at all). They cut off the old wood from my hydrangeas - and since these are a special kind of heirloom hydrangeas we have no flowers this year. Also, they simply dumped mulch on top of weeds - so now I have grass and weeds growing up in our beds. We should have known, this doesn't seem to be their core competency.

Their price was reasonable and they charged $400 to remove a very large tree. The tree is not there anymore and it was great work that they did. They were very prompt and they contacted me several times before they got there. They were very quick and very efficient. They were very clean and cleaned everything up. After I was done, I got a call from the owner making sure everything was okay; and it was within 10 minutes after they were done. It was super customer service and I would use them again in the future.

I have used them for over 20 years. They are very reliable company. They do great work.

They were very professional and punctual. They gave me an immediate estimate, which was free, and their price was very fair compared to others. They are going to do some long-term work for me.

They were wonderful. They were really good. The guy did what he said he was going to do. He was very knowledgeable about trees. He did a good job and I would use him again.

I thought they were good and did a good job. I will use them again in the future.

They were prompt. The only thing that was a little off is that they didn't call before they came to do the work. Maybe I should have specified that. Some people may not like that they just showed up. They came out and gave us an estimate the same day and then if you wanted to have the work done you signed the paper and sent it in. So we did that and I asked when they would be coming and they told me within a week after you send the paper in. They showed up and I was surprised. They were very knowledgeable in knowing when to trim our Oak tree, they said now was not the time. Another place came out and they were more expensive.

I had problems with a living fence of 55 evergreens--I called Davey for a consultation====Myles Stephens called me back, made an appointment to see me and was there two days later-- five minutes earlier than I expected. He told me I had leaf minors and a fungus on some of them as they were looking weak and sparse. he suggested a spraying regimen along with a fertilization-- I said ok and his crew started the treatments in the early spring 100.00 a shot for three visits a year==I see the brown disappearing and new leaf growth emerging-- the consultation was free and the price was a lot less than I expected==I tried other tree experts??? Forget it--these things cost a lot and I'm very glad Davey was able to save them for me.

Work on this project was completed today and I am extremely (as well as pleasantly pleased!) with everything that was done. The trees are beautiful and are exactly what I had requested. As well as the installation of these trees, I had several dead plants removed and quite a few new plants added. Davey also trimmed, weeded, mulched and added additional decorative stone in the areas needed. I was so pleased with the work that was done that I have requested Davey give me an estimate for some additional yard work I want done.
