Janville Roofing & Siding

Overall the experience was lousy. The week the job was started was beautiful. There was not a lot to paint since the majority of our house is brick and they were only painting the siding. They would only spend part of the day at our house painting. The job drug on for about two weeks. The painters were sloppy. The missed a lot of spots of the siding, did not paint the edge of the doors, got paint on molding on the inside of our basement, on a screen for our window. Overall the job was very sloppy. In some places it looked like a young child had painted the siding, brush marks going in different directions, drips of paint on the siding, paint on the windows and on parts of the molding around the windows. They dripped paint on our cement patio, said they could remove it. They ended up having to repaint part of the patio with another stain. They used our outside house to wash up and the sprayer nozzles were covered with paint, they still are - sloppy. I would not use or recommend Janville Painting for any other painting.

I was very happy with the work that was done. They have done several jobs for me and I will continue to use them for future jobs done on my roof.

Some drops of water came through our ceiling. They came out and they figured out the leak was coming from gaskets and pipes because the room is next to the bathroom. He checked out the roof and said it was fine. He said to wait for three rainfalls, that it should be okay but to let them know if it still leaked. He even did a little extra. He went and caulked some more areas to make sure it would be fine.

Janville Roofing replaced our entire roof which included removing 2 courses of old shingles, replacing all of the plywood on the main roof and installing new shingles. The whole experience from quote to job completion was excellent. The scheduling of the job was delayed, but that was due only to weather. The crew completed the job in two days and worked into the darkness to clean up each day.

He came out to fix it and it did not cost me anything. What stood out was the quality of his work and his professionalism. He is very friendly and personable, and we have good relations.

Sales staff was very professional - work crew showed up on the appointed day despite the winter weather and completed the work in several days. Clean-up was also good. Will call on them again.

Very well. They replaced the entire roof. There was some delay in starting but it was not an emergency kind of situation and weather was also a factor.

Getting a new roof is a big decision and I took it seriously... First - the proposal process - I contacted five contractors and received proposals from each. Janville was neither the most expensive nor the least. The salesman who completed the proposal was very knowledgeable, patient, and actually climbed on the roof to take measurements and evaluate the situation. (Unbelievably, other proposals were provided without even looking at the roof which left me feeling uneasy.) I discovered that roof warranties are complicated and actually ended up calling the roofing manufacturers to get clarification on warranties (something I would recommend to any homeowner when considering a new roof). It took me some time to schedule all the proposals and make my final decision, but I never felt pressured or pushed by Janville to make a decision. I was between two contractors at the end and the deciding factors for me came down to (1) the price in comparison to reputation and workmanship/warranty and (2) the gut feeling that I could trust Janville. Second - the wait for work to begin - If I had any anxiety in the process, it was the wait for work to begin. August through September was a busy time for Janville and mother nature wasn't helping. I had resorted to using buckets to catch leaks from the roof, so I was ready for the work to be completed. And then came word of Hurricane Irene just days before my scheduled installation date. In a desperate attempt to avoid significant damages to my house, I called Janville who stopped by just hours before the hurricane rains (on a Saturday!) to apply a temporary stop-leak solution which worked perfectly to keep my house dry. It was at this moment, I knew I had made the right decision because Janville had gone above and beyond in a true testament of their excellent customer service! Lastly - the new roof - The install week finally arrived after several rain delays. The crew was larger then I had expected and the logistics were more complicated than I had anticipated (decisions about dumpster placement and where to store materials). The crew worked efficiently and most importantly were careful to avoid damage to the landscaping (trees, shrubs, flowers, etc.). They removed only sections of the roof that could be completed in one day so that no tarps or other temporary measures needed to be used. Daily cleanup was performed to ensure that all waste was in the dumpster and no nails were left in the street/driveway. The operations manger kept me informed of updates and any issues. Overall impression - I was very pleased with the workmanship and professionalism of Janville. The roof looks amazing and best of all - it doesn't leak! I have had many compliments on the roof and the copper work. Thanks Janville for a job well done and for the excellent customer service. I'd recommend your services to anyone needing a new roof!

An appointment was made in a timely manner. Due to a family emergency I had to reschedule and contractor was accommodating and came out on a Sunday. While he saw a cause for 1 leak, he was unable to provide a reason/solution for the 2nd leak.

Two crews were used, and both were staffed with legal citizens. Work was done with a high degree of care and workmanship, and completed in a timely manor without any undo rushing. In addition to the house, the roof on an outside shed was replaced, and extra work that was not in the original estimate was done at no extra charge.

The work turned out great, and I don’t have any more leaks. They were very responsive. They returned my call quickly and came out to my house soon after the phone call. The gentleman climbed on a ladder and got on my roof and evaluated very quickly the problem I had at that time. He gave me a quote on the spot, and I agreed to it. As soon as they could, they came back and did the repair work. They knew what they were doing, and their prices were fair. I would rate them highly and would definitely use them again in the future if necessary.

.They did a very thorough analysis of the job and the estimate was very complete. They gave us all the details. Even in price it was good. It was better than some of the others I had. But it was not as low as the one we went with. They had a very professional outlook than the one we went with. I would use them in the future.

I had a leak in my roof. The board holding the gutter in place had pulled away and water was getting in. Another contractor wanted to change my whole roof out. Janville came over, came up with a quick solution: the fabricated a metal sheet to slide under the shingles and over the top of the board. They screwed the board back in place. And the technician who came out was very professional. I had a great experience and would use them again.

Noticed a couple shingles in yard after recent windstorm. Wanted these replaced, roof inspected and any faults repaired. After receiving no response to attempted contacts with another highly rated roofer on Angie's list, I called Janville and they were prompt, courteous and professional in providing an estimate and completing the work.

The worker who provided the estimate was very professional. He arrived promptly, analyzed the problem, and explained succinctly what needed to be done. It took a couple of months before the work could be done, as it was winter and we had a lot of snow and ice. Once the weather was workable, Janville called and scheduled a date for my repairs. The workers arrived on time, and the main work was completed by two men in less than one hour. Another worker returned to install the small section of gutter. I was not home at the time so cannot report on how long that took, but it could not have been more than an hour, at most. The first crew left behind rotten boards studded with nails. I asked them to remove them, but they assured me that the person who returned to install the small gutter would take them away. The debris was not removed, and all sorts of metal brackets, nails and debris were left at the work site. While I think the actual work was competently done, I think that the price for minimal parts and labor was excessive. While, there the workers noted that the roof in that area needed replacing as there was some rot underneath. The estimate they gave me, $2500, was almost $1000 more than another contractor I selected from Angie's list after getting estimates. The other company did an excellent job, and cleaned up scrupulously.

My experience with them was great. They were timely and quick - they came when they said they were going to come and got the job done quickly. They did what I was expecting them to do. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

They were very helpful. They were very thorough and honest; so that was what we could know what they would do. They were very professional, honest and respectful. They spent lot of time and didn't get paid

Company rep always came at scheduled time. Office staff helpful and easy to reach. Gave us the estimate without spending an hour trying to sell us a warranty like the other company. Supplied lots of references. Had a choice of GAF or Certainteed shingles. Work was done in a timely manner. Everyone was very professional. Everything was cleaned up and all trash removed. Rep was very accommodating - left sample shingles, etc. Cost was higher than original estimate as more plywood than anticipated had to be installed, but was still reasonable. (All 3 estimates we got included this possibility so this was not totally unexpected.) Roof looks very nice and withstood the big snow storm. I would recommend this company.

Employee who gave me the estimate was prompt and professional. Answered questions at the time and also later by phone. Once the estimate was accepted, an approximate date was set and later a confirmed date. They were prompt and the work appears to be excellent. They protected landscaping and cleaned up nicely at completion of the job.

The price seemed a little high so I wanted to get another estimate before I decide. The guy was very pleasant and professional. I want to compare his price because it seemed high. He came on time and he was very informative and careful.

They were just a super company. I had quite a bit of interaction with them. We have a big roof. They were just so efficient and so responsive to a couple of problems that developed afterwards. They were even proactive to the point where after a rainstorm they would call me and ask me if what they had done had set the problem. I was very pleased with them. It's been about four or five years since they put the roof on. I have called them a couple of times for some additional work. They are extremely responsive and they call to see if there is a problem. They don't wait for me to call. I think the price was good but I don't know. I didn't go out for bids. I got a referral from someone else on them. I was satisfied with their price. There were no faults for them. I would use them in the future if I needed to.

He seemed nice and professional, not at all pushy. I am still waiting on the quote. We are getting a lot of different quotes. Our neighbors across the street used them, too. I recommend that if you use them, then you use their products, too.
