Remodeling Concepts

It was a fine experience. I had them design a bathroom for me, and they got the design back to me within a week.

Note - This review was cross-posted in January 2014 to the contractor's customer satisfaction survey website. I am re-posting to AL so that I can also update now that 6 months has passed since project. First, the contractor brought the wrong door. They arrived with a fiberglass door, I had purchased a steel one. When they returned with the steel door, it was not the one I ordered (4 panel not a 6). Second, the level of cleanup at the end of Project Day 1 around my house's exterior was disappointing. Because the entryway was being widened, the workers had to remove stucco and the brick underneath. The 2 workers from Day 1 left piles of brick dust & debris all over my front steps, garbage cans next to the steps, front windowsill, etc. The workman from Day 2 (Brad) did a much better job of cleaning up after himself (and coworkers) but still left significant dust outside that I had to cleanup later. More significantly was the amount of dust that entered the interior of the house because the cover used by the workers on Day 1 did not adequately prevent dust from blowing back into the house. I had specifically discussed this concern with Tom when finalizing the project. He assured me that the area would be properly covered so that "blowback" would not be an issue. Because of his assurances, I did not cover my furniture which, as a result, was covered by a layer of brick dust at the end of Day 1. Similarly, I asked the workers on Day 1 if I needed to move a rug that I had near the front door. Again, the workers assured me that removal was unnecessary because the area would be covered. Unfortunately, it was not properly covered and thus, stained red by the end of Day 1. Update - status as of 7/16/2014: The front door has been sticking horribly. On days with minimum humidity, I have to throw my weight against the door to open/close it. Contacted contractor company on 7/1 to schedule repairs. Despite providing various dates/times of availability and the door being under warranty, am still waiting to have someone come out to fix it. Though Tom and Katelyn provided good customer service leading up to project, all that goodwill has eroded by difficulties in getting them back to correct work. Thus, level of responsiveness is now "D". The basement window has held up so far. The parging done around the door to cover brick that had been exposed by project started cracking a few months ago.

He came out and promised estimate at end of week. A female then called from his office to inquire if I was happy with the service. I replied that all he did was look at the work. I was happy with the interaction while we stood on the back porch and he looked at the work. I emailed him after a week and a half asking for the estimate. He apologized and said he would get it to me. That was over a month ago and still no estimate or contact. I even told him that I could wait until the Fall for the work to be done if he couldn't do it right away. Still, nothing. No contact. I'll be looking for another contractor.

They did not do the work as they do not service our area. The people were professional in letting us know that.

They were fabulous! I thought they would come in at the most expensive since they had everything available to me but they didn't. They had the best quality. They came on time for the job and cleaned well at the end of the day. They have a design consultant available to you at no extra charge. Everything came out perfect. The people that did that work were experts in everything and did an amazing job.

Initially we worked with Ilona Ormanzhi. She was very professional from the beginning. Without seeing the space and just by envisioning, she picked the perfect layout for us. She was quick to adapt to our style and was able to guide us in making the right choices so our kitchen was coordinated. She stuck with us all the way through and was willing to implement changes as we stepped through the process. I would highly recommend Ilona. Tom Fistler was our construction project coordinator. Again, he was very flexible. We worked together on the estimate and in the end I was very pleased for the price I paid for the end product I received. Construction went very well!! Everything was synchronized and progress was made every day by Tom and the foreman Adam Sweeney. I had several neighbors say that couldn't believe how quick it went. The quality is outstanding, no dings, no real extras other than our requests, no complaining. Well done Remodeling Concepts!!

A gentleman came to my home to provide an estimate for a porch re-do. I was told I'd be contacted in a week with 2 different estimates...and never heard from them again.

The rendering and measurements were just what we needed to give us an idea of our possible new kitchen. The company was good and they did exactly what they said they would do. There was no pressure to accept their new kitchen proposal. The price of a new kitchen is expensive, which we were expecting.

I would highly recommend this company to anyone who wants to remodel their house. The arrived on time, has a very professional demenor and was always trying to please the client. They came down to our house and took measurements and drew up a architectural diagram . Once we agreed on the design they created a virtual view of the bathroom along with the cabinents , color and layout . When the work got started , they arrived on time and delivered within the schedule estimated. If minor changes were required , they were pleased to assist. The results were incredible and now our bathroom is a show piece of our house. Without any hesitation , I would highly recommed them to anyone. One of the best companies I have ever dealt with in the remodeling industry .

They came out and I don't think he accurately measured my roof, so the squares he was estimating is more than I believe the roof is.

I scheduled an appointment for the roof inspection and took the day off work. The provider called me about 30 mins to an hour prior to the appointment time and stated that he ran over time with his previous appointment - he was far away from my area, and would need to cancel today's appt and come out the next day. Needless to say I was very disappointed - but, what made it worse was that he even told me that he ran over time at the previous appointment not due to the workload, but he just got into a long conversation with the customer. I appreciated his honesty, but it was a great inconvenience and I had to use another vacation day. I was not going to write a review because I really did not want to write a negative review - once the provider arrived he was very nice and did a great job of telling me what needed to be done to the chimney - but this was my experience so I had to be honest in my review. I gave a D for "professionalism" due to the reason for the cancellation of the appointment - the professionalism on-site was fine. I gave a C for overall performance because even though the fiasco happened, the on-site performance was fine. I only wish that I got a picture of the chimney that he took while on the roof so I could compare it to an "after" picture once I have the chimney repaired (this did not factor into the review score).

They are in the remodeling business. Their design was well done and they seem to have the chops to do the job, but their price, in my case, was too high.

Wonderful from start to finish. First off, what I really liked about Remodeling Concepts is they got right back to me and answered my questions promptly. I had an estimate within the week and they came out when they said they would. They have someone in the office so I could always call if needed. I found Remodeling Concepts on Angies List and was impressed by their rating. Some kids walking by our house late at night shot out our front bay windows with a bee bee gun, which was an upsetting experience in itself, so when we replaced the windows we didn't need more aggravation. Remodeling Concepts delivered from start to finish. In fact they installed a higher quality window then we had before. Our bay window is actually 3 windows together, the side ones open out and there is a screen door for each. Our windows are not a standard size so they have to be custom made. What I liked about this was Tom told me when they have to order custom made windows, they order from a local manufacturer. I like supporting local businesses so this appealed to me. He explained that RC is a little more expensive but you get quality work. I was going to give the rating a B for price but when I saw the quality product and the job done, plus the stress free process from start to finish, I decided to give them an A for price. Those windows are excellent quality and locally made! We definitely got what we payed for. We even got a thank you card in the mail the next day. :) I will definitely be using Remodeling Concepts again!

I went with another company because they gave me a design for what I asked for but they also gave me an alternate design which I liked better. I would get a proposal from Remodeling Concepts for anything else I needed done.

It went fine. Before they started I asked for a copy of their insurance and it was emailed quickly.

We wanted to remodel our kitchen and my wife thought an $84 kitchen design was a good start. My wife bought the deal, the contractor emailed us right away. we gave him our phone number. The designer emailed us, introducing herself and attached a form with a question about our estimated budget. ( Afterward, through phone conversation with contractor, my feeling was that our budget was kind low to them) A date was set for someone to come to take measurement of our kitchen. Someone showed up on time, very polite, and took measurement. An email sent to us afterward to suggest that we visited their showroom. we did not go. after 3-4 weeks, I emailed designer for the design, she emailed back stated it would be ready on Monday. No design. I emailed again on Wednesday? and was again suggested that we visit their showroom. we called trying to set up time to go but it did not workout.(It is almost 1 hour away). Ask to email the design again. Received the design in email. Am I thrilled with the design? no. Was it bad? no. My thought : if you only want design but not contractor, or if you have no wish to visit their showroom, it is not a good deal. please note: the rating is toward design not contractor

They were professional and resposnive, everything was very well done. But my wife & I decided not to move forward with that project at the time. The estimate was a little more than we were prepared to spend. We were very pleased, and we might be using them in the future.

I can't say enough good things about Remodeling Concepts. Every aspect of the job, from initial discussion and estimate, to pricing, communication, and the work itself was excellent. After sitting through 2 hour high-pressure sales pitches from other contractors, it was a pleasure to have a quick, but thorough discussion of the job with Dave and get a firm quote right away. The work was done quickly and expertly, with minimal disruption. The crews were on time and professional, and I had no qualms about having them around my home. I sent an email describing a small issue with the downspout locations and a crew was there the next morning to move them. The price was very fair and a bit lower than estimated.

The services turned out fine. We're looking at other work that they might be doing for bathroom remodeling. They made some adjustments that had to be done. Everything was fine. They were very fair about getting things taken care of. There are always issues in remodeling and everything was adjusted accordingly. The staff is phenomenal and they work hard to please their customers. Any situations where they have a problem any of their employees not satisfying a client, they take care of. They make good on everything.

their good old time to do it. I wanted a quote from them to remodel the bathroom also. I will not buy a deal again.

I am the only person I know who claims that redoing a kitchen was fun. They did excellent work, had a project manager there or on track at all times, came in on time and on budget. Donna

The service was excellent. The serviceman was on time and did a great job patching my ceiling in my kitchen and fixing the back door to my home.

It did not turn out well. It took a long time to get them to come out and to get a design from them. They were also way overpriced.

The job took two days. Their cleanup was good.

Remodeling Concepts is wonderful. Every person I dealt with there - scheduler, designer, contractor - was friendly, responsive, professional, and courteous. They provided exactly the services promised and exceeded our expectations. Their showroom is fantastic. Would highly recommend!
