 + -1 moreExcellent! Could not be happier with the work. They fixed the leak, fully repaired the area and found a 100% match for our existing siding. You can’t even tell it was repaired. Great price, communication, and professionalism!
Description of Work: We had an old pergola removed and the previous owners had replaced the siding around the pergola, so upon removing it left a bare spot. This was repaired by another contractor temporarily but that solution was causing water leaked and also looked terrible. So we needed to fix this and called remodeling concepts.

 + -1 moreWorst experience ever. They have an "interior designer'' at their shop who really didn't help us at all, we somehow ended up with chrome appliances but brass accents on the drawers. We were introduced to the guy who would be completing the project from start to finish. First day of project no one showed up. Next day, someone completely different showed up. He was supposed to have a binder with a in depth description of everything we ordered along with the tile layout etc. He was nice.. Except he installed the shower with the wrong tile, he scratched our foyer floor while carrying out the old tub, he initially installed the shower water handle upside down so hot and cold were opposite. Then there was a leak of water coming from the outlet he installed next to the shower. He had to cut into the new drywall to repair the leak. He installed all the electrical and plumbing opposite from our original plan. We had to switch the side of out cabinet tower or else he said " it would have pushed our end date back 2 more days of work". Paint job was absolutely terrible, you could see marks and missed spots. He clearly rushed the job . He didn't properly caulk around the mirror/cabinet or tub. The grout on the tile floor isn't even. He made a huge gauge on the custom made cabinet which is quite noticeable. Their initial salesman came out to the house to ask why we wouldn't recommend them for any other projects, he brought a candle and body wash. He sent out another guy to fix the other guys problems, this new guy said he would be out later that week to fix the last issue which was the tile floor grout since he didn't have the color grout we used.... the guy never returned and no one ever called. After all this ,we were so completely done with the company that we just let it go because we so desperately wanted it to be over with. For all the thousands of dollars we spent and time we took off work,.. it was a NIGHTMARE. I would never use this company again.

 + -1 moreAt first I thought everything was going great. Everybody seemed real friendly . Then I caught roofer on back of house putting shingles on top of plywood without any underpayment. Then found spots at other areas without underpayment, flashing. And when they put the ridge vent on they only cut on side not both sides. Had to call them back numerous times because they said they fixed but didn't. They use sub contractors so watch out.

Description of Work: Remodeling Concepts did the following: 3rd Floor hallway and closet - Spackle the inside of the closet after securing the balance of the drywall - Install a wire shelf across the top of the closet - Install baseboard in the closet - Install customer supplied railing across the landing - Install a new wood core 3/4 light storm door leading out to the roof 2nd Floor Hallway - Replace all existing swinging doors on the second floor with new doors to match the 3rd floor 6 Total, 5 to be 5 panel doors and the bathroom to be a frosted glass panel - Install 3 recessed lights along the hallway switched off of the existing lighting circuit - Install new customer supplied trim around all of the doors and windows on the 2nd floor - Install sheetrock veneer on the hallway ceiling and slope leading down the steps and finish to be paint ready 2nd Floor front bedroom - Frame out a wall along the right hand side when you walk in the door - Install Roxul sound insulation - Change out light fixture to customer provided fixture - Install sheetrock on the new wall - Finish the new drywall area and skim coat the rest of the room to leave paint ready 2nd Floor rear room - Install Chicago track ceiling to level it out - Insulate the ceiling - Drywall the ceiling and finish to be paint ready - Move the switch to be inside the room - Install customer provided light fixture at existing light circuit 2nd Floor hall bathroom - Demo out the bathroom completely - Frame out for a closet directly on the left when you walk in the room - Install an acrylic tub - Install a small door on the closet area - Install a new diverter in the tub area - Install a tile surround around the tub over cement board - Install 2 recessed Lighting - Install a tile floor in the bathroom over cement board - Install a new pedestool with a faucet - Install a new toilet - lnstall accessories throughout the bathroom - Finish all drywall and leave paint ready - lnstall fan to vent to exterior Middle bedroom - Skim the entire bedroom - Cut back old gas valve to get into the wall - Dry wall the closet and finish to be paint - lnstall shelves and a bar for clothing in the close - Install customer supplied light at existing ceiling circa Family Room - Install customer supplied plaster medallion - Frame out the 2 walls flanking the fireplace - Install approximately 8-10 recessed lights and a 3 way on the chandelier - Hang Chandelier with a new customer supplied medallion - Drywall entire ceiling throughout the family room - Scrape down all walls as much as possible where they are rough and skim to smooth them out - Install customer supplied 1 piece crown molding - Install new baseboard as needed to match the existing look Dining Room/Kitchen - Knock down all of the thick spackle on the walls - Skim the ceiling - Remove the existing crown molding and replace with customer supplied 1 piece crown - Install customer supplied Ogee on the baseboard - Remove the bump out if able in the dining room wall - In the Dining Room remove one surface mounted spot light and replace with 2 recessed lights - In the kitchen install approximately 5 recessed lights - Remove the kitchen ceiling, insulate and drywall and leave paint ready, insulate any air flow cracks in the ceiling line area - install customer supplied crown molding

 + -1 moreRemodeling Concepts was great. The dumpster arrived at 4 pm the day prior. The crew showed up bright and early and by noon the old shingles were stripped and rotten decking was replaced. By 3 pm the new roof was installed. They cleaned up and even left one of the crew for an additional hour to pick up the old roofing tacks that were aluminum and couldn't be picked up with the magnet sweeping. The foreman was on the job the whole time and available to run out for additional plywood and caulk when required. They rehung the gutters and leveled them, even putting the after through them with a Jose to be sure they were flowing properly. When they overflowed later in one spot, they came back and added 2 additional hangers for support to fix the problem.

 + 0 moreThey were careful to assess the issue fully, sent a carpenter who replaced the sill plate and rim joist. He discovered the floor joist was also rotten. He returned the following week with another carpenter to install a 14' replacement. When the floor joist installation was able to be done in a shorter amount of time, they refunded the amount of money for the labor that was shorter than estimated. They were professional, knowledgeable, and very pleasant to work with.
Description of Work: Replaced a rotten sill plate, rim joist, and floor joist at the foundation corner we discovered when rerouting the sump pump discharge line.

Dave kept in constant communication with me throughout the project and even responded to emails that I would send late in the evening. I started out hiring them just for my roof, but once I saw how professional his company handled everything, I began to use him for other jobs despite his fees being slightly higher than some of the "handyman" quotes I received. It was clear that paying a little extra for a company that is reliable and professional was worth every dime. He is my go to person going forward for any type of home repair or modeling I may need!!  + -1 moreI wouldn't trust this provider to do any work at any cost. I have a small leak in my roof. Mark was nice when he came out. He cleared off the roof, took pictures, and had a great look at the roof when it was raining so he got a real-life look at the problem. He said he would call back in a few days with an estimate. I heard nothing for ten days. It took me tracking him down at his office before he would speak to me about an estimate. When he gave me the estimate, he couldn't provide any number, saying it was time and materials. Even after I pressed him since he was the expert and knew how much it would cost, he gave me a range from $600 to $800. I called back to sign up about 5-7 days later. Then, the estimate had changed to $400 to $650. After we verbally agreed on the phone, Mark called me back a few days later saying that he had checked with his partners and they wouldn't be able to warranty the job since it was a bigger job than they had thought. This was the first time I was hearing about this new twist. Mark said he would check and get back to me again. Four days later, Mark called back and said that not only would they not provide the warranty, but the new estimate for work was $3400 since they would now essentially need to put an entirely new roofing structure. The story continuously changed each time, and despite the superb look that Mark got on the roof, he and his team could never get it right. If you use this provider, make sure you check, double check, and triple check every estimate they give you since it seems that they could never get it right the first time. Also, hopefully you don't have a 500% increase in cost like I might have experienced had I gone with them.
Description of Work: Came by and provided an estimate, then called and provided a different estimate, and then called and provided a final estimate that was approximately 500% more than the first estimate.

 + 0 moreRemodeling Concepts was quick to respond and to cover the holes in the roof made by the falling tree. The reroofing was done quite promptly but the appearance of the roof is very poor;. It is wavy, with shingles that appear to be raised, and frankly I am embarrassed at the way it looks. As far as we know, there are no leaks, but if you would expect a new roof to improve the look and appeal of your house, which I did, quite the opposite is the situation. They have been back once to work on the most obvious problems but it still looks like a job done by amateurs.

 + 1 moreI had a great experience with Remodeling Concepts from the beginning to the end. The foundation of the home had extensive damage throughout the structure. The structural engineering firm initially made a drawing and recommended Remodeling Concepts to me as a company who they have seen do good work, so I contacted them. Rich Sybesma was the Project Consultant--he was very helpful and recommended that we request an alternative, more economical design from the Structural Engineers. This worked and saved a couple of thousand dollars on the project. I was impressed by Rich's knowledge and good-will, so that we were able to get the structural engineers to change the design to get those cost-savings. Alonso and his crew are the ones who did the work. They were fantastic. They have great craftsmanship with attention to detail, were punctual with a clean workplace, and were always in a happy mood. Paul oversaw the project and kept me in the loop with the schedule and inspections, while making sure the project ran smoothly with a good-end product. Overall, I had a great experience and would use Remodeling Concepts again.

Estimates were in the ballpark compared to two other contractors. Mark responded promptly to my telephone calls and e-mails and answered all questions. The work was done in a timely manner and appears to be done properly. Would use the company again.
