Thank you for your feedback. We created a vanity design for customer and focused on the shower and tub. Customer's bathroom was quite large so that's why it was more expensive. We are sorry things didn't work out.

The estimate was higher than I could afford at the time (new deck steps and securing the deck at one end). I asked for another estimate for just the steps. He left a very odd message on my phone. He said the original estimate was actually for JUST the steps and he was sorry for the error. I (of course) never called them back.
Description of Work: The intial contact was very professional. I spoke with Katelyn in the office and she said someone would get back to me. Mark contacted me then we met to discuss the job. He sent an estimate by email.

Tom from Remodeling Concepts came right out and gave us a reroofing bid on the spot. He was on time, professional, courteous, and helpful. It was a really good price, and we may yet take him up on it. . We also got a quote on a stamped concrete walkway. We haven't compared it to other bids, so I can't comment on the price. It took a little while longer to get the quote, but we weren't in a hurry. I suspect if I had pushed for the bid, We would have gotten one sooner.
Description of Work: We got a bid on a reroof and then later on a concrete walkway.

I had a chimney that needed to be knocked down and built back up. I also had some interior work that needed to be done because of water damage coming in from the damaged chimney. I was having some issues with my neighbor about getting the repairs done because my chimney is a shared structure with the building next door. I had reached out to Remodeling Concepts and Tom had been in contact with me since day one helping to decide what to do. Then there was all the bad weather which further postponed being able to get the work done. I ended up going with another company that was able to immediately fix my chimney on the nicest day of the year so far. Going with someone else by no means was a reflection of RC or Tom and I would have gladly given them the work if the weather and schedules would have worked out better. I left Tom a last voice mail message to inform him about having to decline using RC, and he called back saying that he was glad that my situation was getting rectified speedily. I appreciate that kind of customer service and I thought it showed real class on the part of RC and Tom.
Description of Work: Tom provided excellent communication with me for about a month about a project.

We hired Remodeling Concepts (RC) for a number of repairs, most importantly to repair serious water damage and address the underlying cause of the damage so that it did not happen again. The deposit was cashed in early August. Work did not begin until September, despite them telling us it would begin within days. They didn?t show up on days when they were scheduled and did show up on days when they weren?t. They did the project out of order, resulting in some of the work needing to be re-done multiple times. They repeatedly billed us for incomplete work. After the schedule fell far behind what was promised, our original project consultant was taken off the project and RC?s ?Chief Operating Officer? became our de facto project manager. After another month or two, we were told by the owner that the COO had been fired, in part based on how our project had gone, and now the owner of RC would be running the project. We were told at the outset that everything would be complete within a few weeks; work did not wrap up until the end of December. Since then we have had ongoing issues due to their work: a heating failure caused by the placement of a heating vent that they told us wouldn?t be a problem; frozen pipes caused by the up-to-code but clearly inadequate insulation they installed; and massive water damage - the exact same problem that we hired RC to fix. We have informed RC of all of this and they have not made any attempt to redress these issues. We have had a horrible experience throughout this entire project and after. We do not recommend hiring Remodeling Conceptions whatsoever. The detailed version: - They cashed our deposit on August 7th. Our project consultant had told us that work on the siding would begin within days of depositing the money, and that inside work would be done off-and-on but would be completed within a few weeks. Work did not begin until September 8th. - They were unable to stick with a schedule. We were told, "They'll be there Monday," "Sorry, they'll be there Tuesday," "Sorry, they'll be there Friday for sure." We were lucky to get even get that much communication, as most of the time we were the ones who had to inform RC that their workers hadn't shown up (when we got home from work, well after 5pm) because, apparently, the workers hadn't told them that themselves. On countless occasions, they did not come to work when we expected them and then showed up on days they weren't scheduled to work (so we could not, for instance, adequately prepare an area where they were going to be painting). Work that they promised would be finished Friday, wasn't; was then supposed to be finished Saturday, wasn't; was then supposed to be finished Monday, also wasn't; etc. - We told them multiple times that we didn't want repairs on our interior water damage to start until after the exterior work was finished, even if the exterior work was ?supposed to be? completed that day. They ignored us: the exterior work didn't get done, and the interior work started anyway. When it rained, the water damage reoccurred as predicted in rooms where the interior painting was finished, including in areas where we thought the exterior repairs had been completed. To their credit, they re-repaired and repainted at no additional cost - multiple times, in fact, because the exterior work was still not done and the weather refused to cooperate. - We were repeatedly billed for work that was not yet complete - occasionally work that was 90% complete, but other times for work that had barely even begun. Each time this happened, we remitted a check for those portions of the work that had actually been completed, in accordance our contract, which specified that line items were to be paid for as they were finished. At one point we had to remind them that this was specified in the contract, because they had complained about having to do work that had not yet been paid for. - We added some additional siding work to the project a few days after signing the contract and weeks before the work eventually began, as a storm caused additional water damage elsewhere in the house. We repeatedly said we wanted to amend the contract to add the new work, and they repeatedly said that wouldn't be necessary, and that it would probably only be a few hundred dollars, or (as the COO implied) even that they might throw it in for free. Then, when the additional work was done, they billed us at nearly 3x the cost for another (larger, harder to access) piece of the siding. When we objected, they revised it down to 2x, still giving no explanation for the reason of the cost. Only after we objected again, politely requesting an explanation for the third time, did we finally receive an explanation (which was that they had vastly underquoted us on the cost of the back - fine; but it shouldn?t have taken three tries for us to receive an explanation that straightforward). - Despite informing them, specifically and in written and photographic detail, that there was a missing piece of siding on the underside of one of our window eaves/soffits, they took this to mean that we wanted the windowsill re-capped. When we raised this issue, the owner denied we ever told him about this and that we had only ever talked about the sill (we never talked about the sill). We re-forwarded him an email we had forwarded to him two weeks previously in which we explicitly said the siding on the soffit was not done. To his credit, he called us to apologize. - With the addition of the siding, our heating system was now venting too close to the wall. We had asked RC if they could adjust the positioning of the exhaust pipe away from the wall, and were told alternately that it ?would be addressed? and that it was ?not an issue.? It was not addressed, and it was an issue, as the proximity of the vent to the wall (less than three inches) registered as an air blockage and caused our heating unit to fail. We then had to personally hire an HVAC professional to come fix it. In his opinion the siding would also have been damaged over time as originally installed. - Though a major part of the project, the brickwork started incredibly late. They allegedly ordered the bricks at a reasonable time, but they were allegedly backordered for three months; when the bricks arrived, they were manifestly not the bricks we had been shown and which we thought had been ordered, though our original project consultant claimed in a text message that these were the same we?d originally seen on the supplier?s website. We had them re-order new, different bricks, that were closer to the ones we?d originally approved. Because of this, brickwork couldn?t start until the week before Thanksgiving, and then had to be frequently delayed because it was too cold, so it took over a month for the brickwork to be finished. - They rarely cleaned up after themselves, leaving nails and debris everywhere inside and out, despite that the contract specified that they would clean up as they worked. Their siding workers left siding scrap all over our and our neighbor?s adjoining backyards, trampled our flower bed and vegetable garden, and used our planters as receptacles for their cigarette butts and food wrappers. The masons, while rebuilding our stairs, poured cement down the street (to our neighbors? alarm and displeasure), and after finishing the bricks they left behind dozens of nails and screws on the sidewalk and in the street. When all of the exterior work was finally done, and all trash and debris theoretically taken away, we spent hours cleaning up and fixing the things they?d damaged. (We had been promised reimbursement for the damaged plants and planter by the COO, but this, like most of his verbal promises, never materialized.) - There appeared to be severe communication issues between RC, its employees, and its subcontractors. On several occasions, workers showed up and asked us what they were supposed to do, as this had apparently not been communicated to them beforehand. The owner repeatedly described a project to us as a ?throw in,? until we pointed out that this project was included in the contract. A subcontractor showed up unannounced, after dark, to tell us that we didn?t really need the siding called for in the contract, just some new caulk around the windows in a particular room. (Seeing as that room had suffered a literal waterfall of water damage over the summer, and continues to receive water damage to this day despite the theoretically completed siding repair, it is clear that more than just caulk was needed.) RC told us repeatedly that a particular section of siding was complete; each time, when we ourselves went out on the roof to check, even as laymen we could tell there were obvious unsealed gaps, and even as laymen we could tell that the windows were still leaking. It was like pulling teeth: almost every time they told us the siding was ?finished,? we had to call them back out because there were obvious portions that had been left untouched. - Throughout the whole process, we repeatedly apprised RC of our problems and dissatisfaction with the work, contacting them immediately as issues arose. Despite their assurances that things would go faster/smoother/that nothing was actually wrong, the work continued to go at a snail's pace, with multiple delays and interruptions, and problems plagued the entire four months of work. We cannot in good conscience recommend Remodeling Concepts for any major project whatsoever. ETA: RC's response is untrue. RC supplied all materials. We initiated all post-completion contact w/Dave, responding immediately to replies he sent. The "many trips" were because of improperly-done work (see attached emails). RC admitted that other projects were having the same issues. We sent and signed emails as a married couple; to imply that this is one highstrung woman is offensive at best & misogynistic at worst
Description of Work: Repair water damage in several rooms, repair and replace damaged siding to prevent further water damage, add new siding over exposed bricks, re-do front stairs, add brick veneers to front of house, insulate laundry room, install bathroom fan and other minor interior projects.

Caveat Emptor. We selected Remodeling Concepts because of good reviews on Angies List and because they would provide a 3D design that we could take home. We were not pleased with the results. First, measurements were taken quickly, resulting in a few misses. Second, there was a disconnect between the construction manager who took the measurements and the designer who ran the program conducting the design. Third, unless we chose them to do the construction, they would only offer the 3D picture of their original design. Once they completed the original design based on what they thought made sense, we sat with the designer for about an hour going through and modifying the design. Therefore the 3D picture of their original design was pointless. When I asked for a copy of the 3D picture for the modified design, I was told this would only be available if we selected Remodeling Concepts for the kitchen construction. Fourth, at the end of the last session, I asked for a number of follow-ups. We never received any follow up call or email. I gather they assumed that we weren't a likely prospect worth follow up. Clearly the $84 design is a loss leader. In fact, they made it clear that the true cost of the design is several hundred dollars. However, due to lack of responsiveness, poor coordination between design and construction, and poor customer service, we have already decided to contract with another firm to do the work. This $84 was not well spent.

Thank you for your feedback. Husband and wife came into showroom to review design with us and we called them to follow-up several times with no response. There weren't measurements that were done incorrectly. The fact was that the wife told our rep not to measure the closet because everything was going to remain the same. We tried to measure while there but were told not too so we respected her wishes. When husband came to our office, he said he wanted to redo everything in the closet and we did not have the measurements because we were told not to measure when we went out. We offered to go back out there and the husband said he'd do it himself. We are sorry things didn't work out and we wish you the best of luck.

The whole Remodeling Concepts team was great and we are extremely happy with the final product. We worked with Tom, Ilona and Les on a regular basis and they were helpful and knowledgeable throughout. Tom came out for the initial meeting. He listened to our ideas and gave us some helpful advice on how to remodel. After that we went out to Remodeling Concepts showroom and had a presentation with Ilona. She walked us through her design and the products they would be using. She had a great vision for the space and took into consideration all of the ideas we had. After speaking with Ilona and three other contractors we went with Remodeling Concepts because we liked their design, products and most importantly their price. Ilona did a great job with the design and took all of our ideas into consideration. She made changes to our vision so that the kitchen would function and look great, and it does. We were very particular about what we wanted for the space and Ilona accommodated all of our request. She even special ordered sample tiles when we didn't like any of the options in the show room! The actual remodel also went great. Les was on site everyday to either work or supervise subcontractors. He was knowledgeable and friendly and able to give us an update everyday. As to be expected there were a few surprises along the way (ie water damage under the old tile; electrical issues) but Tom and Les informed us up front and always gave us options on how to fix the issues. Also, on of the subcontractors left a mess in our backyard but once we informed Les he took care of the whole thing and we never had to worry about that again. We are very pleased with the final product and get compliments all the time. We use our kitchen everyday and the quality of the products used as well as the quality of the construction shows. We would recommend Remodeling Concepts to anyone and even plan to use them for our roof replacement when it comes time for that.

The quote for this work was for $1125. I guess they were a little bit cheaper than the other estimate. I think they are professional and the people that I have been speaking to seemed to be nice, they come when they say they are going to come, they follow up, they return phone calls, if you write them an email they will answer it. My problem was that a lot of the people that I have dealt with over the years is very often how they are but after the work is done and something goes wrong you could never find them.

The work looks very nice. Sometimes capping looks wavy or crinkled, but their work is flat and uniform. There was one area that wasn't up to the rest of the job, but they were very responsive and redid that area; it looks great now. They crew that did the job was pleasant and didn't leave a mess behind. I would definitely recommend them and use them again.

I used a big deal, but had more square footage of roof than the deal covered. So the price was quite a bit more than the big deal, which was $5500. However, I had them replace the skylight while they were doing the roof, and they also needed to put 3-4 new sheets of plywood down. I forget the overage on my square footage. But I'm pleased with the overall price. The job was done in a single day, and they were good about clean-up afterwards. I did find a few random nails in some areas where they couldn't use the magnetic roller. Additionally, I had to do a bit of gutter cleanout afterwards and replace my cheapo gutter guards. All acceptable though. The foreman was good about putting my roof anchors back where I wanted them - I highly recommend roof anchors if you do any work on your own roof and it is moderately steep.

First of all I would never use any other company for any work that they can do. They were the most responsive and professional company I have ever used. And believe me I used many for my offices and homes. From the owner to the office personnel to the job foreman and the team installing the roof you could not ask for any better company to do your work. The prices were good and reasonable. I was sick and had to call off the installation 2 times and once the weather was an issue. Not one complaint from them. I will be doing a home makeover and there is no need for me to shop, Thank you, Remodeling Concepts for a great installation. David, your whole company was outstanding. Get ready for the next job, I will still check your cost. LOL just kidding no need to. Again thank you Mark

We unexpectantly found a 10" hole in our roof. We think a raccoon may have caused the damage. The roof was approximately 25 years old. The rep from Remodeling Concepts came to check the roof within a day of my phone call. He gave us the choice of repairing the damaged area or replacing the complete roof, We decided to get the complete roof. 3 days later a crew showed up as promised and the job was completed in one day! The roof looked good and clean-up was excellent. We were very happy with the service provided by Remodeling Concepts.

The workers arrived on time. They worked efficiently & very hard. It was a very hot day & my roof has a steep pitch. The foreman on the job ( Scott Bennet) was very knowledgeable, very polite & courteous. The workers stayed until the job was completed -9:30 PM and cleaned up very well. I was very impressed and am very satisfied.
Description of Work: Replaced existing roof including 2 skylights & a roof fan.

I cannot say enough good things about Dave Martin and his company, Remodeling Concepts. We were in an emergency situation because our home was being sold and the day of closing, it was discovered that the water heater had been leaking about 5-7 days and created extensive water damage and mold growth. We called in ServiceMaster to take care of the water damage and mold, and needed to have the complete finished lower level of our home rebuilt, and as quickly as possible, as a new closing date was set for July 15th. Dave immediately understood our situation and quickly made arrangements to go out to the house to view the damage and estimate the work that would be done. He proactively contacted our insurance agent to ensure they were both present during the visit to compare their estimates. Dave quickly provided our estimate and began the work in a very timely manner so we could meet our completion date of on or before July 15th. Dave also was very helpful to our buyers, who since the lower level was being rebuilt, asked to make some custom changes. He worked with the buyers and they were very pleased with his working with them to incorporate their changes (and the buyer was in construction!). Dave's estimate was "true" and he did not change his billing upon timely completion of the restoration--which he finished about 4 days ahead of July 15th--so that closing could occur as scheduled. Dave and his team are extremely responsive, professional and have excellent communication. I highly recommend their services. Kudos, Dave!

Overall, the job went well. The quality of the work done is superb. The foreman was on te job almost all of the time. Just a couple of glitches otherwise. When we had some questions about some of the flashing we were told someone would swing by and take a look. Next day, we were told some had stopped by, that they had gotten up and examined the flashing and reported that 'the job was done the way they would have done it'. But this was just after a snow storm and the strange thing is, there were no prints in the snow so were are questioning if they1) showed up at all, 2) showed up and just glanced from the street in which case they weren't able to see the issues we had questions or 3) went to the wrong address. To get a good view of what we were questioning they would have had to come onto the property. Otherwise, we are very happy with the job and the pricing and would contact Remodelling Concepts again to do some interior re-modelling.

Everything turned out well, and it was a very good experience. The foreman was an incredibly nice young man, and he deftly handled the project's hiccups when they occurred. Furthermore, they did a great job with the roof and the gutters, and I was amazed at how well they cleaned up the area before leaving.
Description of Work: They tore off our old shingled roof and installed a new one. They installed new gutters for us as well.
