Description of Work: With no service record left by the former owners, a maintenance check up was needed on our climate control system which is a gas heat/electric AC system. The unit was cleaned, filter was replaced, a humidifier was added with a few other routine items. Noticeable improvement in heating and cooling efficiency. Also felt safer since it might have been some time since the gas heater was inspected and cleaned. Would recommend and will hire in the future.

Description of Work: They checked our air conditioning and water heater. They had to send someone else to discuss a water heater replacement. It took him longer than he stated to get back to us with a quote. Their price seemed high to us.

Description of Work: During severe cold, an underground sewer pipe froze at a clean-out joint. We noticed the problem when water would not go down any drains. A Ranck plumber diagnosed the problem quickly. Working in sub-freezing weather, he used a digging iron to dislodge ice that had clogged the joint. A major disaster was avoided.

Description of Work: Installed a Home Humidifier. I have been using RH Ranck for about 2 years now on both major and minor Heating/AC and GEO issues. I am extremely pleased with their knowledge, sense of urgency and overall professionalism. I feel you won't find anyone better.

Description of Work: Gas furnance stopped working on a Friday evening in the dead of winter and house became very cold with no heat. Saturday morning I called a few companies to come look at the furnace. Ranck was prompt to respond and showed up. After 10 mins of looking at it the technician said it was a faulty hot spark ignitor. At this point I had already paid $120 just for him to show up and tell me what was wrong. I asked him for an estimate for parts and labor to replace it. He gave me an estimate of $180. My house was freezing cold and he gave me the impression that was a fair price. The hot spark ingnitor was atached with one screw and a electrical plug. It took the technician a total of 10 mins to replace it. However, after he left I looked online and discovered that the hot spark ignitor was only a $30 part I was extremely mad. I paid $270, the for labor and the technician was at my house a total of 15 - 20 mins and then on top of that the technican proceeded to tell me he gave me a discounted rate on the labor. They did a good job on the fix but at what cost? I felt I was taken advanatage of. If I had acess to the part I could've replaced it myself that's how basic the job was.
