They came out prepared and looked at our leaky unit. The service tech was professional and knowledgable.

They were good. The service rep. tested the A/C system, cleaned the evaporator coil, and installed drain pan tabs. Due to the age of our A/C system, this company did make recommendations regarding needed repairs vs. replacement.

The gentleman who came out was polite and professional, and took the time to explain everything to me that he was doing, along with things I could do to maintain the furnace myself throughout the year. He also tagged various things in the basement, like shut-off valves, which was a nice courtesy, and helpful, though it didn't escape me that this was as much a marketing tool as anything else, since now Sila's name is all over my basement. My only complaint, and the reason I hesitate to give a perfect A rating, was that there was evidently some misunderstanding and/or miscommunication regarding what was actually covered and not covered in the Big Deal offer. A piece needed to be removed and cleaned, which I thought was part of the cleaning/maintenance being performed (based on the description of what was included in the deal I purchased). However, I was told that this was actually not included in the cost, but that the work needed to be done right away, and I felt pressured to say yes and write a check on the spot for nearly the amount I had spent on the "deal" itself. While I don't doubt that the work needed to be done (the furnace had obviously not been serviced in some time), I disagreed that it was outside the scope of what Sila had promised to do. I couldn?t help but wonder if this is how ?Big Deals? work ? to get you roped in with a low price, then find ways of charging you more, so you wind up paying what you normally would have to have someone from that particular company come out. Lesson learned maybe ? you get what you pay for, and if the price seems too good to be true, it probably is. That being said, I did call Sila to voice my concerns, and I felt that the matter was dealt with quickly, efficiently, and professionally, and that my concerns truly were heard (and a partial refund was issued as well). Overall, I would not hesitate to consider using Sila again in the future, but I would definitely do my research to be sure I understand the scope of the work being done.

I wanted to have my heater cleaned and checked. They were on time and friendly. He looked at my heater and said I would eventually need a few parts that were starting to fail. I also needed "more" cleaning than what I had paid for on my special. He talked me into buying a year or service to my heater and air conditioner. I did. Then he proceeded to clean the heater. It wasn't dirty like he thought but he did replace one part. I regret that I didn't do a bit more research before Sila came over. I believe that the tech was knowledgeable and friendly, but Sila's prices are a bit high.

Service inspection was quick and efficient.

On the day of installation, SILA arrived on time, worked quickly, weren't bothered by my dog or cat, completed the job ahead of schedule and left no trace of themselves behind. I relished the AC after they were gone - it was so refreshing to be able to walk around the house without sweating as if it were a sauna! I would recommend SILA to family & friends without hesitation - it is refreshing to get such good service these days!

Technician missed first appointment, but rescheduled and made that commitment. Over-extended schedule was cited as the reason for missing the appointment. Service was performed in a professional fashion and company followed up the next season for service.

The serviceman arrived on time and immediately put on his shoe covers so as not to track in any dirt. I was impressed. He then proceeded to clean and check the heater, explained to me how to use the timer on my thermostat (this is a new house and I was not familiar with a timer). He was very professional and explained to me the benefits of a service contract for both my heater and air conditioner. No matter what, he said that he would return in the spring to check the air conditioning unit. I was very happy with Sila and would definitely recommend them to others.

Overall, I had great confidence that the systems checks were performed properly, with care and experience. The Angie's List Big Deal allowed me to experience Sila's high-quality service first-hand at an excellent price. Greg's courtesy and professionalism cannot be overstated. He was cheerful and very patient throughout his visit -- even as he encountered some unusual problems at my home. Unfortunately, I felt the service contracts offered at the end of the visit reflected prices far higher than I would be willing to pay. The company's policy of not leaving a written offer of the various services disappointed me. Greg explained that this policy was to prevent other businesses from beating the price by a few dollars, and thus taking away customers. I didn't realize that service contracts often went into the thousands of dollars. I felt pressured to make a decision, so I declined all future service offerings. I prefer to get several quotes before deciding on costly expenditures.

We were sensing a musty odor coming out of our A/C vents, and thought the worst...that the A/C coil and ducting was dirty and moldy. We called Sila and scheduled and appointment expecting to hear the worst, but when the technicians arrived on-time several days later, they opened the A/C coil box and showed us that the coil and condensate pan was clean. They suspected that the source of the odor was basement air being sucked into the condensate drain tube, which drained right into the basement. So, they coiled and zip-tied the plastic tubing and made a make-shift trap - and the odor coming out of the A/C vents was markedly better immediately. The technicians also joined two sections of supply ducting that had come apart and disconnected the humidifier ducting. At the time, $250 seemed like a lot for what the technicians did, but we were happy with the service, not only because we originally thought the worst and that the repairs would cost $1000's, but also because the technicians were willing to explain what they were doing and were very professional (even donning clean shoe covers when entering our home)!

The gentleman was timely and extremely polite. He explained the job, and asked if I had any questions or concerns. He also gave an approximate time frame it would take to finish the service. He did an excellent job, cleaning each site area, and my sinus problems have subsided and I am extremely grateful for this particular listing on Angie List.

Service person went far beyond what I expected or any other company had done for the same service.

Everyone I have dealt with at Sila has been wonderful from phone calls to the office to the people who come to the house. They put on shoe covers when they enter your house and are prompt. They actually show up when they say they will. They give you a 2 hour window but will call your cell phone when they are on the way if you need to be out.

They came when expected, were very professional, even to the point of wearing booties inside the house. Performed a check-up and recommended some services to make things run more efficiently. No pressure.

The technician, Andrew, was prompt. courteous and professional. The furnace was inspected, cleaned and tested then Andrew provided a detailed report.

At the initial consultation, we lost power. The contractor was very patient and tried to wait for the power to come back on. In the meantime, the contractor made the most of the time by performing as much of the maintenance as possible. Ultimately, he did have to return to complete the job, but was still very efficient, polite, and professional. He arrived both times at the scheduled time and was able to complete his assessment and necessary work within 2-3 hours total. He was willing to explain the work he was doing and answer any questions that we had.

This Heater tune-up service was a little disappointing. I had this service done over a year ago. Good for the price I guess, my heater now has SILA stickers on it. Did not seem to be a real safety inspection as opposed to a routine cleaning. I cleaned the furnace myself this year.

Very professional and very knowledgeable serviceman. Very careful not to track dirt through the house and he knew the gas burner and how best to tune it up.

They came out very quickly and did a great job. They were on time and very knowledgeable and I was pleased.

We used a different company for the A/C tune up last year, and found the Sila technician much more responsive and attentive to our questions. Our A/C unit is leaking refrigerant slowly, and he was great in answering our questions, and giving us his opinion, with the caveat that a thorough check of the unit needed to be done to definitively establish the source of the leak. Overall, a positive experience--the other company's tech would not answer anything without charging us additional for a consult.

Great customer service when calling to make an appointment. Because they are a larger company they have lots of flexibility for appointment times. I need weekends since I work during the week. They had no problem accommodating my schedule. The technician was very professional, clean and informative. He answered all of my questions fully. He did offer me their annual contract, but when I declined it, he didn't push. Which I really appreciated. I was on-guard for needing to deal with a hard sell, but it didn't happen. Very happy with the experience.
