Sila Heating, Cooling, Plumbing and Electrical

The company was responsive and the technician, Greg, arrived on time. He was extremely courteous, worked quickly and efficiently, explained what he was doing and what other services might be warranted.

Called to set up an appointment for 11/19/13 I asked questions, Do my heater has to be up and running? it was stated yes and in order to get it started for me it would cost me by the hour, plus the cost of the big deal. I cancelled 11/11/13.

I had an emergency and they acted very promptly and with a lot of friendly, helpful professionalism.

Service call itself went fine, technician was great. The furnace was short-cycling, the gas flame turning off after about 10 seconds, it was a simple fix, just a dirty sensor that was included in the Big Deal. My only complaint is that I started receiving marketing phone call after phone call from Sila, multiple calls per week. This went on for several months before they finally stopped.

Overall, I was very impressed with Sila and the serviceman who performed the inspection and service call. They called me the previous day and even that morning as a reminder of my appointment, which was very professional. The service technician who performed the inspection was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained some of the technical issues in a manner that I could easily understand. They ended up replacing a sensor that was starting to fail, which could have caused me more headaches down the road if it wasn't caught in time. He had the part in his truck and was able to correct the problem. My only complaint is that the technical was 45min late and I had to call the Sila number to find out where he was. I was told he would be there shortly, which he was, but it was an inconvenience to me.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went fine. I used the $400 off for a new A/C unit. Overall I was very satisfied with it. The system is running fine.

Excellent job- AC broke during a heat wave; replaced within days and created an external box for air filter for easy access.

They were nice on the phone, but I did have to wait all day. I called in the morning and he came after dinner. He introduced himself, put on the shoe covers and asked to see the thermostat. He cranked it up and went into the basement. He was in and out, we just left him alone, until he was done. He seemed very tired when he got here. We chatted we were the last on his route.

It went well. The person was very nice and very thorough. He took his time and communicated how we could be more effective and bring our heating and cooling bill down. There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount.

Perfect. The guy got our heat back in no time. He even picked up a problem with the oil tank which was not on the docket for that day.

It worked out okay. They were good. I don't have any problems with them. I had a leak on the one on my basement the very next week but it turned out to be a different issue and it had nothing to do with what they had done. They were nice people. I would do business with them again. They did a very thorough job. They showed me a couple of things I got to keep on top of. He cleaned some stuff at the back of my house and he left the hose dripping which I didn't find out for two weeks but I guess he just didn't notice it.

dan,tech and john,supervisor arrived @ appointed time, introduced themselves. did their jobs and reported findings to me.

It went fine. They were still selling the coupon after it had apparently expired. It was weird, but they still honored it. I did not know that there was going to be different cost for different types of furnaces. I have an oil furnace so they would not give me the two for one deal. They told me that it was a lot more expensive for the oil, so I ended up having to pay $285 in addition to the $99 for them to do my oil furnace. I thought that they were the same thing. They did tell me the difference between oil and gas. They also, told me about my system. I really ended up not getting a deal. It was more expensive than if I had had my oil company come out and do it. The guys were all ready out here and I was already locked in. It was my misunderstanding that caused the error. They were right on time and they were very responsive and were able to adjust their schedule. I guess an oil-heating component takes longer to clean, but they were able to do it on the same service call. They did do a good job and they were explaining some of the stuff to me as they were doing it, so that I would know, which was nice. They walked me through some of the efficiency. It seemed like they knew what they were doing. I do think that their prices are a little steep. They wanted $1,000 for a one-year contract, where as my oil company wants $400. I would consider using them again.

From the first phone call to the time the technician left, Sila was a really pleasant and completely HASSLE-FREE experience. PGW had come to change my meter and noted a rotting chimney clean out flue pipe that needed to be replaced. I got on Angie's List and found all of Sila's A grades? I came to realize they were well-earned! The man I spoke with over the phone was very nice and told me the best option would be to do a tune-up on the heater because the chimney clean out flue pipe replacement would be included in that anyway. Plus there was a $30 off coupon off the website that I downloaded. I made an appointment for that following monday and that was that? no other phone calls or follow ups needed! The technician, Dan Hanson, arrived right on time? also super friendly, super courteous and super knowledgable. He also liked our dogs and cat which was a plus!! :) The best part is the dispatcher, who was also warm and friendly, called me 30 minutes ahead of time so I could stay at work until I actually needed to be at the home. That small fact was so incredibly helpful, appreciated and a courtesy that I have never experienced from other companies. Honestly, I can't speak too much to cost or price except that it seems around about what I've paid in the past. There was some confusion after he inspected the heater that the chimney flue pipe replacement would cost extra apart from the tune-up. Could have been my initial articulation of what needed to be done over the phone?. who knows, but still wasn't too big a big deal, just was a little more than I expected to spend today, but still felt pretty reasonable. Dan finished the job thoroughly and efficiently, He also cleaned up afterwards and left it cleaner than it was before and also took away some old pipes that were just sitting there for months! You can tell he takes pride in doing a good job. He then told me about the service plans available and the rates which all seem VERY reasonable. But it wasn't like he was pushing it on me, just letting me know what is available so I could make an informed decision. Very much appreciated! There really is no price for good service, I can't express what a immense difference it makes to have good customer service?. especially with contractors. I'm sure you can get a fairly decent technical job done with several other companies but VERY few have the friendliness and courteousness that I received with Sila. It's that good feeling you get when a company makes you feel like you are their only customer. It creates a trust there because you know they care about keeping your business so you know they aren't going to screw you. I have had experiences with contractors before that leave you feeling helpless and annoyed and frustrated and making constant follow up phone calls to make sure they are coming. It really is those small details that make the difference. I know I've over-used these adjectives throughout this review but its true? everyone I talked to at Sila was extremely pleasant, courteous, and friendly. It really makes them stand out, I have no doubt that I would hire them again. Thank you for providing awesome customer service and a great experience!

Came. Repaired. Left. Have used Sila (formerly Unique) for over 10 years including original first floor central air followed by 3 bedroom split system resulting in a four zone system. Whenever I needed them they have been there promptly, courteously and efficient.

I phoned Sila at 12 noon on a Saturday stating my air conditioner was not working after working all summer. I was not a regular customer so I figured they were going to make me wait several days. Instead they sent the technician Adam out right away. He walked me through all the things he was checking as he did them and showed me what he was doing: checking condenser, inside of unit, thermostat, until we got to the outside unit. He found the problem there, showed me how I had no refrigerant and where the leak was, and fixed it promptly. Adam the technician was very knowledgable and showed alot of concern that my air conditioner was serviced and repaired properly. If I could give this company an A+ I would. I have used quite a few HVAC companies in the past and this is the first one I have been impressed with, very professional company.

The technicians are extremely professional and efficient and arrived on time. Both times the technician called before to give me a heads up on arrival time. Scheduling was very easy as well. The previous provider I used went out of business so Sila was recommended by a friend. It was routine maintenance so there was nothing to be repaired but everything works well and they were great to work with.

I have found that Sila servicemen are consistently prompt, pleasant, and efficient.

Everything went well with the service and the service tech was great There was an issue with the wording for the big deal. There was no disclaimer that the service did not exclude oil burner furnace. I paid more than expected because once the service tech arrived he told me that the coupon deal should exclude Oil heaters even though there was no disclaimer on the coupon. I didn't fight it because I was In a rush but I don't plan to use the provider again. I called the sales and marketing people but they never responded to me.

It did not go well, he was telling me what my contract included and did not include.In the past they were fine did the job and left.T There are other companies that do this service. He did not want to move my humidifier dial to winter, in the past they do it and explain why they are doing it not argue ai don't do thid nit is not on the contract. I was going to ask him to leave my home because I was so taken back by his by his argumenative attitude. There is no reason for a "service person" to be rude and say I will do this but not that ,when for years they came did the job and left. I am so shocked over this situation, that since I am a member of Angie's List I felt it was my duty to report this,

Dan provided the maintenance for both properties and found that one of the furnaces needed a vital part, which he replaced. He then traveled to my personal home and found that the furnace was not operating. He was not able to supply the part needed immediately but came back the next day, at a great time, even though he had other calls to make and I had taken most of his time the day before. Dan was always polite and professional and was very comfortable to work with. I have always had great service from Sila. Even though I feel that they are overpriced, I have never received anything but excellent work from them, and when you are dealing with tenants you don't need any additional stress. Thanks Sila, for a job well done.

A day or two had lapsed after I purchased the coupon and they had not called. I called them because the coupon had an expiration date of the end of the month, they had a cancelation for that day and were able to schedule me the day. The service was fine. They called and let me know when they were on their way and they were within the time window given. The technician pointed out an issue explaining part of my heater was not up to code but was working. He provided me information on it and said he could come back to fix the issue. They followed up with a call a few days later about the issue. They showed up on time and performed the standard service.
