Purchased this deal and could not have been happier. Tech was on time, did a very thorough job and was gone before we knew it. No hidden fees or pushy salesman BS. Seriously, what more could you ask for out of a service call?

As I was talking to the company through, I learned the deal wasn’t what I needed. They were somewhat slow to answer and didn’t explain it very well when I wanted to buy it. They didn’t call me back to schedule either.

The company contacted me and said they do not service my area.

Service technician was on time and very professional. provided all the information that we needed to know what he was doing and what things we should keep an eye on. would definitely use them again.

As part of an Angie's List deal, Sila Heating & Air Conditioning inspected my previous heating and air conditioning system, which was approximately 18 years old. I bought the deal because the system fan made intermittent strange sounds and I wanted to get it assessed. Although the option was to fix the problem, knowing that the system was old, I requested a quote to get both systems replaced. Everyone from the sales person, the estimators, and the installers arrived on time. The installers worked later than they expected and were able to finish in one day. They cleaned up afterwards. All who were involved were respectful and professional. I highly recommend Sila Heating & Air Conditioning.

The technician was on time and very professional. He explained the needed repair, it was a proactive repair. He answered all of my questions and was very helpful.

After calling Sila to determine if the Big Deal did cover my area, and having them tell me that I could also purchase two Big Deals since I had two units in my home, I decided to buy two tune up deals. When the technician checked my units, he discovered that one was not operational enough to be able to conduct a tune-up. He did the tune up on the other unit and suggested I contact Angie's list for a refund on the second unit since the service could not be conducted.

Nguyen and Matt showed up right on time, introduced themselves. They did a great job. They were clean, polite and efficient. The supervisor also came for a little while to make sure they did the work that he and I spoke about on a prior visit. The were at our house from about 8am to 4pm. They answered all of our questions as they went along. our old unit was taken away in their truck so we didn't have to bother with calling the garbage company for scheduling a pick up. The salesman (Steve?) that came out to our house a few months prior to installation was also very informative and polite. We also didn't get the harassing phone calls for scheduling our service. He also listened to our needs and helped us choose the equipment. He didn't just try to sell us the highest priced items. He also seemed to be genuine and honest. Overall we are satisfied with the work that was done, and we feel we got a fair price.

It was fine. They came and serviced the unit and the next day we had another issue, but they took care of the situation. The problem was never there in the first place. The technician was very professional and very good who installed the new part. The scheduling was okay.

For warranty of a 1 year old heat pump. Heat pump froze into a block of ice spontaneously during this 2014 super-winter. Service tech came out and found a dead mother board - ALMOST out of warranty but got it in under the wire. A week on emergency heaat and parts came a week later and Mother Board and "freeze" Sensor replaced. System froze again less than a week later. Found that there was a service bulletin that noted freeze-up is a possibility due to location of sensors from the factory (and possibly something that the sensors could fry a mother board and needed to be replaced - at least this is what i understood finally). The down side was that that the owners of the systems this applied to were not contacted and condition rectified BEFORE the winter when this would become a very serious problem. SO, 3 days off of work, trips to fix it and 2 weeks w/ out heat pump (emergency backup used). Overall, the responsiveness and technicians were quite good, prompt, clean and explained everything to my (detailed) level of satisfaction but by then i was pretty unhappy hearing that the preventive services were not so good. A service bulletin is put out to service providers so that owners can be contacted and problem fixed (cars often have these listed as a recall when very serious and cost is covered or listed as something that should be evaluated at the next service). I was never contacted and i suppose since i don't have a service agreement w/ Sila, i may have never known. (Wonder if i had been out of warranty if it would have cost me the grand they said the parts/service would normally have costed.) But when it comes to heating, a problem like this will most often come up when the heating demands are at peak - for me this was 2x and required a total of 3 service calls and in my opinion, because i was not contacted as an owner of the product that the bulletin was issued for. Not impressed.

Arrived promptly as scheduled and walked me through what he was planning to do during the normal service and assement process, before starting. Conducted the service and identified items that needed immediate attention, as well as, items that might need repair/replacement in the future. He didn't try to pressure to me to make repairs today, but unstead explained the reasons for certain replacement items and their current functional status. The technician seemed knowledgable and provided me with options for repairs/replacement of near term issues, detailing the pros and cons of each pricing option. He didn't try to pressure me into buying a service contract, but simply explained the benefits. For those select items that I request repaired/replaced during this service call, he finished on the same day.

Making an estimate appointment with Sila was really easy. They were on time and very professional. We discussed in detail about the problems we were having with our heat and possible solutions. However, the recommendation for the repair was to replace all of our existing radiators with baseboard heating and the estimate was very expensive. We chose to use another company that kept the radiators and ran new pipes for a much more reasonable price.

Ok, needed another recharge in a few weeks due to leak.

That turned out okay and they did a good job with the installation. I was not happy with the product itself though. Just one technician came out and it took him a couple of hours.

The technician, Dan did a thorough inspection and cleaning of our system--heater, outside A/C. He also inspected the duct work and hot water heater. He gave recommendations and answered all of our questions and concerns honestly. He pointed out a rusty pipe on our furnace and replaced it for us, as it was dangerous to leave as is. This was all covered under our service plan that we purchased from Sila over the summer.

Sila refused to renew their service contract and as a result I now have to find a new service dealer. I spoke to Mike Rudolph (the General Manager of the Philly office) and he told me they couldn't provide effective service to me (despite having provided effective service to date). Mike promised me two things: 1. He would get me a list of people qualified to take on a climatemaster system 2. He would get my Spring service complete as I was due that. To date... (4 weeks)... I have not received that list, nor have I had my system serviced. Bottom line: A. Sila are happy to take your installation money (the big bucks) B. They can and do change their mind later about whether they will service your system C. Their management don't do what they commit to. Buyers beware.....Sila Philadelphia is not a company you can trust.

Let it be known, we are very picky and this was a very expensive project. From the very beginning, SILA exceeded our expectations. They could have sold us a much more expensive systems but they told us we didn't need it. They did a complete evaluation of the problems we were having with areas of our house being cold. The evaluation and subsequent proposal for remedy was exactly what we needed. It was fairly priced in comparison to the other proposals we received. Then came the installation - absolutely the highest quality and level of professionalism. They took excellent care of our house during the work - they went over and above to make sure that we were satisfied with the progress of the project. When snags arose, we had 3 leaders here to supervise and overcome the obstacles. The end result was that we are more than pleased. It is SO satisfying to have found a company that prides itself on doing the RIGHT thing for the customer - even when a more expensive alternative was available....they determined it was not necessary. The level of professionalism and actual CARING provided by our Rep, JOHN S.. was something you just don't find elsewhere. We can't begin to express our thanks to John. The guys who worked in our home every day, Win and Matt, were superb. We just can't recommend them enough!! And to say "Thanks" just doesn't seem like it's sufficient, so we're writing this glowing referral. This is the ONLY place you should go for any HVAC work you need done. You will not be sorry!!

Jeff, the technician, did a great job. He was careful not to track any debris inside the house, wearing shoe covers while inside, and he explained what he was doing. He found the source of the water leak, a crimp in the tubing caused by a floor joist that may have settled slightly. Jeff returned 2 weeks later to run new tubing to the sump pump. The cost of the Big Deal for air conditioning maintenance was $49, and the cost to remove the existing tubing and run new tubing was $200. I thought the total cost was fair. I would recommend Sila Heating & Air Conditioning.
